Finally, good news has come the way of federal civil servants in Nigeria as the National salaries income and wages commission, last Friday, released the circular for the implementation of the new minimum wage. This has finally and finally confirmed that implications will begin without any delay. Congratulations Nigerians. |
PassingShot:You are absolutely right bro, but don't you think the president is abusing the powers of the office of the president?! One, he went to London with tax payers money, for a so-called"private visit". Two, he is gonna spend two (2) weeks just like dat spending tax payers money without recourse to the national assembly, cos I don't think he transmitted any letter to the effect that he is going on a two week vacation. I'm not saying he doesn't have a right to go on a vacation/visit. The question is: Was due process followed? If it wasn't, too bad cos I cant imagine walking out of my employers for two weeks without permission, without permission. |
I don't want to believe Femi did not do anything at all. He must have done one or two things; remember he (Femi) is human; there is a limit to the help he can give. As a Christian, i dont pray for the dead, but i will use this experience to better my life in terms of preparing to meet my creator. |
Dvin:of course he wouldn't be paid any arrears because allowee was not increased during his time. I think what happened during his time was the spread of fake news that allowee will be increased. This one now is definitely genuine because all the modalities, (for increase) have been put in place, and actually completed! Only a doubting Thomas will not believe that allowee will be increased as soon as the implementation of the new minimum wage takes effect. |
Tweetums:yes. You will receive your first allowee (new) few days before camp finishes. But there will be no arrears for you. |
STANNYGIRL:no! Swearing in ceremony will take place on the 7th. You can come on the 6th. During my time, I had a friend, who came in two (2) days after swearing in! |
We all know that. What we want to know is how much it is. |
Thankfully, I just got info some minutes ago that the Federal Executive Council in its meeting today, Presided by Vice president Yemi Osinbanjo has gracefully approved that all outstanding arrears arising from the consequential adjustment in the new minimum wage (wef) April 18, be paid on or before 31/12/19. So for sure, not only will the new minimum wage be paid, arrears will be paid also. |
leetech93:You have not only spoken well, it also shows you are also knowledgeable. The originator of the question has also said we should state our source. Well let me tell the originator of the question that the minister of finance sometime in May, when she was giving a press conference on the new minimum wage and consequential adjustment in salaries, clearly stated that the Nysc members where also included in the new minimum wage. She said we are entitled to at least the new minimum wage; she said it could be more, but any increase on top of the 30K will depend on the consequential adjustment in salaries of GL 7-17, which has just been concluded, so we don't know how much they will add on top of the 30K until the Nysc states it. But I believe it should be btw 10-23% of the 30K. It should also be noted that the top up on the 30K is what the Federal govt calls "transportation allowance". For example, in 2011, when the Jonathan govt increased the minimum wage to 18K, the federal govt put transportation allowance at 10% of 18K (1800) making the total allowance to be 19800. Another source that has confirmed that we will receive, at least, the new minimum wage is from the DG Nysc. He made the disclosure in Lagos when he visited the batch B stream ii orientation camp. Also, the immediate past special adviser to Mr President on national assembly matters (senate), Sen Ita Enang as well as Dr Chris Ngigie has also reiterated (@ different fora) governments resolve to pay Nysc members the new minimum wage. So don't worry, I'm very confident that implementation will begin this month (October). What govt is trying to do now (through the National Income Salaries and Wages Commission), is to compute the salaries of all those affected, and after that, a circular will be passed to all ministries, departments and agencies of govt. I believe that one no go pass one week. My biggest fear is the payment of the arrears. Although the ag. Head of the civil service has assured Labour that implementation will begin immediately, I was not to comfortable when she Said arrears will be paid, but she would not talk much about it. Even if arrears will be paid, it will not be at once; it will be paid maybe through 2-3 months. So definitely, NYSC members will get at least 30K |
Nice grand piano in the first pix |
Thank you. So the 2019 budget was a scam after all. |
pulsitive:Oga, I have more sense than you, no doubt about that. What you have written makes no sense absolutely! I'm sure you were there when Labour was collecting the shared largesse! These guys are struggling day and night to see that the wage is implemented and you are here writing nonsense cos you have small 200 naira to buy data. Guy, you know nothing about labour, govt and how they work. I would never reply you anymore cos it seems you are not an educated person. Go get some education bro |
pulsitive:people like you are they very lazy type. You just want the strike to hold cos youq either do not want to go to work, or you just want strike. Don't you know that it was the threat of strike that made government adjust and increase its offer?! Do you know that labour has been very patient (since May). You just stay here and write rubbish |
2018PROFSUNDAY:you beat me to that. They have lost their dignity |
Ok |

These kind of people can divide Nigeria to gain their selfish interest. |
Good day house, been a while. I guess you are all enjoying your little pensions and keeping body and soul together? Pls can someone confirm the tweet by the Ptad boss about our arrears not been captured in the 2019 budget? Its like she is saying we have to wait for it to be captured in the 2020 budget, or did I miss understand her? |
TissuePaper:bad sharp guy. You surgy joor |
Amalekki:well said |
Yekini should replace Kanu on that list. Kanu was not as prolific as Yekini at both club and country. Kanu played two world cups and two nations cups and scored no goal. |
Aonkuuse:the guy is technically right o. Allocations are based on some factors: One is population and the second is based on 13% derivation ( for oil producing states). Based on population, the North has it. If not for that 13% and other oil money, a state like Delta/ Bayelsa no go smell money wey Kaduna/ Katsina/Kano got take home |
