Well, there are many AI names that dropped today and are unregistered as we speak. Also, this is my routine and I'm able to reg with the other Registrars I use. Today being my very first time of using Name,com and it's a different maybe maybe story.

What happened here is totally different, the name was available at that instant, my order was processed and dropped and the name switched to premium at that very second, like instantly. Only Name,com can switch an available name that is processed with them to a Premium in an instant, not someone else, who definitely needs some minutes to be able to pay and manage the domain before propagating such changes.

Edit - They reached out but they know when issues like this happen and you press to see evidence that a different user truly snagged it, they could easily give you the "details cannot be released because of the user's privacy BS."

You will be amazed how many domainers are out there and sometimes we think we are the only ones who have spotted a "gem"

Next time you see a name you really like, use a fast registrar to avoid stories that touch.

From your screenshot timestamp, you registered the name 1:18pm whois records shows the name was regged 1:18:39secs

We can't tell which seconds yours was.

It's possible an order was already processed few seconds or milli secs before yours.

In domaining, 1sec matters, it is not negligible.

I use dynadot alot cos of their instant reg feature.

If you register a name using instant reg vs normal reg on sane dynadot, the result differs.

Funnily it's sane price. I don't know if other registrar has these features.

I see a name I don't want to entertain stories, it's instant reg.

Spaceship marketplace looks promising. Currently using their for sales landers for most of my domains as making an offer there is similar to the old Dan's lander. Definitely a strong competitor may force Godaddy to reduce their over high commission.

Imagine sell a domain for $799 and Godaddy paid me $599. Domain I looked for the buyer and reached out to? That's more than 15% commission.

not sure you understand what I explained... Godaddy will always add extra, whether you increase or decrease prices.

If u agreed 200 with buyer and your link is showing 230.

Subtract 30 and list as 170. The extra charges godaddy will add will amount to 200 roughly.

Use VPN set to usa to check, sometimes the extra charges has to do with taxes from non US region, though Godaddy will always add domain transfer fee

What attracts you as a domainer to a marketplace ?


I know there are many new platforms springing up daily but in my own opinion they do not have that touch of Dan.

What do you think would attract a buyer to a marketplace.


I am asking all these because I was approached by some partners who discussed the possibility of setting up a marketplace to aggressively penetrate the space, they have the capability in terms of technology, designs etc but additional funding is what they need.

I wanted to find out from the experienced ones here what you think about such an idea as the commitment required to get in is about $100k.

There are already key players like Afternic, Sedo and brandable marketplaces like atom, brandbucket, notable ones like Afternic would have been a great alternative but the suspicion is that GoDaddy is ready to kill it too.

So thats why I asked those questions because a marketplace is meaningless without active buyers and sellers.

Like I mentioned, I have previously outbounded the life out of that domain and gotten offers highest which was $300. I already explained my reasons for renewing the domain which you would have seen if you had calm down and followed up on the whole matter

People have outbounded the life out of domains, reduced price to even $50 and this yielded no sale.

Name got expired and picked up by someone else who will then sell the name for $500-700.

If you want to outbound a name for someone else, spell out the terms. The moment someone starts to outbound on a name, there should be no pulling out.

I usually tell folks who have outbounded for me

1. Keep me informed, you must let me know when you start to gather leads and outbound.

2. You are at liberty to negotiate without recourse to me

3. The duration of the deal is spelt out which is 6months for me. It can be called off if I don't get updates from the other party.

Please I need suggestions on Self Contain apartment on a 50x100 land.

I need a contemporary design. The Architects I have engaged have not been able to give me what I want. I came up with this and I need your input.

1. I like Cross ventilation for the rooms. Folks have advised that since I am not going to stay, I shouldn't bother about it. I still want 2 windows for the rooms.

2. I like the idea of detached units(2 room), this gives me room to work and finish per unit without pressure(Budget Build)

3. What is the safest minimum spacing between each units-will 1m work?

I told her I would like to get one of her product. Then I requested for mode of payment, if it was payment on delievery, she said No, that I should pay money into her account and she will send the shoes to my location. I said no way. she said i should trust her, I then suggested the only way I can do that is by using an escrow service , she asked what escrow service was, after explaining to her what an escrow does she still refused we use an escrow. I should just send money and way bill cost and I will get it. This I refused outrightly. Then I hung up.
