As bad as people thought GEJ was, his administration still witnessed the greatest time for the purchasing power of the common man.
OBJ was in a class of his own. Breaking grounds without breaking backs.
Yaradua was a stabiliser, humane and commonsensical leader. No airs, no fuss, no muss. Just quietly going about his job the best way he could.
All these before some selfish individuals decided to destroy everything. I don't understand why the likes of you are so fixated and insistent on GEJ era as if we are not life then tew, whatever the purchasing power was during GEJ era it wasnt better than what yaradua & obj left, so where is all the eldorado delusion coming from If GEJ era was so sweet and beautiful as your likes paint it all the time, why is GEJ not re-running. The possibility Nigeria will have a coastal highway should govt spend 15trn is 99% while the possibility Nigerians will have a 24-hour power should govt expend 15trn is mer with " uncertainty" .... its not a question of which is more important, it is a matter of which is achievable |

You are indirectly telling me you knew Tinubu will be worse than Buhari and yet decided to support him and that it does not matter if he is damaging the country that it is what he is supposed to do....
Just look at your mindset, then how do you want to convince me that you believe the country will ever get better...
I now see why people like you support recklessly....
If we all have that mindset then why do we have a country, if we all agree the country can only get worse on every successive leader...
I now see why you guys don't see picking bad leaders for president as a big deal...
I never supported Jonathan, you can check my past posts, I have been a member of Nairaland since 2011, but if you want to pick someone, will you knowingly pick someone worse than him like Buhari and now Tinubu... Brendaniel: Tinubu was the worst to gamble with in the entire list of candidates.
Peter Obi compared to Tinubu is still far apart, some of the posts you saw about Peter Obi were political, secondly we are not saying Peter Obi is a saint but compared to Tinubu he is miles ahead....
The Lagos scam is what helped Tinubu even at that he still failed as a governor, see I dont want to argue back and forth, Tinubu is a wicked human being.
Tinubu was the worst candidate on the ballot in the last election, you think someone who lied to you for 8 years and told you Buhari will transform Nigeria even when Buhari was busy destroying the country and still gave him support for a second term.
Only to come and tell you that he was doing all that so that he can become president, which means he lied to you about Buhari knowing Buhari was not coming to do anything good for you.
So even if Buhari killed all Nigerians during his time, Tinubu would have still supported him, look at the amount of people that died, children that became orphans, women that were raped by bandits and so on.
All what Tinubu could say was that he lied and supported Buhari because he wanted to be president because it was his turn.
Indirectly what he was telling Nigerians is that everything that happened to you people was worth his ambition even those that died...
Someone that did not pity or regard you because of his ambition is the person you decided to support and you call it politics and you even hailed him for it....
Then you expect him to pity you when he achieves his ambition....
It is clear you don't even know him, read my comment from last year after Tinubu was sworn in... Same way we thought Buhari was the worst that can ever happen ? i for ask did you earnestly believe Tinubu will underperform to Buhari ... but you are full of insincerity If Peter obi was president and things were this bad, people would have argued Tinubu would have done better .. think am Nigerians can't get it right from selection & choice cos naa rogues full politics, but we can make Nigeria better by how we hold our leaders accountable when we speak up and rise to challenge them steadily irrespective of affiliation. that is it |

rinzaugustine: Peter Obi has been vindicated. Everything he said about if the APC candidate win elections have all happened. Peter Obi during his campaign, interviews, debates and even manifesto proposed a pattern that have worked with western countries. He said plug all the loopholes where Nigeria is losing trillions from . He pointed it out one by one including mentioning how to stop the theft in oil sector. He mentioned that if you spend those trillions in form of small businesses and other grants on Nigeria population of 300m , the multiplier effect will create jobs and all manner of business opportunities for the common masses, make the country the biggest economy in black Africa and provide government with a very big tax base. The western nations Nigeria presidents kneel to beg money every time doesn’t have oil but this simple model. The question is why do i believe Peter Obi would do what he said he would do and not betray his supporters. In 2006 when he became governor he said he won’t continue Ngige massive road construction projects but would instead do ANIDS program which is the simultaneous development of every sector gradually in Anambra. That idea did not go down well with anambra coupled with his stingy profile that most people rejoiced when he was impeached and only accepted him back through the courts because then they saw him as a better alternative to Andy Uba who became governor the Tinubu style but by the time he did four years all the people who hated him started loving him gradually when they saw he made a headway and succeeded with his unconventional style of leadership which culminated in US MIllenium development Goals giving him awards consecutively for being the best governor in Nigeria and only governor in Africa who fulfilled the development goals they set for Africa. By the time he left power he had not only implemented above 80% of his manifesto but had become a cult hero even among the ones that didn’t believe in his style of leadership. I believe strongly that if Peter Obi becomes president he will implement all those policies he said that made Nigerians to fall in love with his unconventional style but also made career politicians and their minions to hate him unconditionally Mention one legacy or development Anambra people are still enjoying till today cos of Peter Obi. Just one registered to him |

He was never a performer in Lagos,as I witnessed it first hand.
For those who would come to shout yen yen yen...among the two former governors that preceeded him,it was obvious he failed during his time and he used propaganda that cannot work on a national scale to deceive the people.
Well,I was a secondary student then and i can tell for sure that he was a monumental failure.
Additionally, for the records,OBJ never seized the allocation of Lagos while he was the governor, rather Obj stopped the allocation of local govt in the state just like he did in Katsina,Ebonyi,Nasarawa and Niger states at the same time.
So,it is only idiots who don't verify facts from fictions that allows his propaganda to take over their senses.
In summary, Tinubu is becoming a national embarrassment. As taxing and over-taxing the people will back fire ultimately. In taxation class at the University,we were told that taxes are levied on the people on their ability to pay and not on their inability to pay and this i know for sure and Before I go,tell Yesom Wike that,he should be careful, what I see around him is very bleak. One thing about this President is that he is BOLD
He goes where no previous leader dared to go.
1. Fuel Subsidy - removed. GEJ folded at the first sign of protest at Ojota.
2. FCT minister - gave it a Southerner
3. Student loan scheme - in the works
4. Coastal road - ongoing
And so on..
But this horrible 0.5 or 0.005% tax on bank transfer his government wants to introduce is too much. We are hearing too of Telecom tax. There's the dreaded Band A electricity palaver on ground.

ONNYX: Perhaps you are the one that needs to become realistic.
I have a major snacks production outfit. Even in these perilous times we do a minimum of 50 bags of flour daily.
In some snacks businesses including biscuits you can have 100 staff eating to their fill every hour without incurring losses because it's a matter of time and they get tired.
I challenge you to mention any mass market targeted bakery that can be that liberal.
On the question of feeding I think that is a matter of in-house consideration. You could choose to pay low wages and provide a soup kitchen level feeding or pay a decent wage providing staff with leverage and variety as regards their feeding.
All is a matter of choice. Scale of production does not decide the existence or non existence of "welfare" .. naa the Personality of the boss go decide Leventis is one of the renowned bakery way back, they make value U bread, there staff were entitled to bread, even Golden hefty there workers can take one bread per day Its pays more to feed ur staff out of what you mass produce than to arrange for food kitchen sef. flour na very good business, cos e dey swell up and no dey quick spoil ... just get your target n market right turnover go boom |

ONNYX: I am happy you yourself recognise that it is stealing nonetheless. Somebody is being deprived. I don't care if it is 1300 per week or 1300 per day. Stealing will not be condoned. In my bakery if I catch you stealing on the 30th of the month you forfeit your entire month earnings. This is not debatable and is enshrined the agreement we have.
I am even going further now to insist that I save 2% of your monthly income and only pay you that amount at the end of your employment there and only if you are not sacked on account of theft.
I am looking for even more monstrous ways to check theft if not I must always work in the bakery and that is counterproductive.
All bakeries must learn to be one step ahead. Oga i can't tell you how you should run your business, but there is something called standard practice if you like boil your staffs to eat if dem use your sugar drink garri .. you are only doing yourself cos your workers won't give there best dem go just use you pass time till better job come up. up top bread one step ahead, if you come get lounge nko .. you go install okirja shrine |

ONNYX: So as a bakery you make 500 loaves of bread daily, you employ a 10 staff and pay them 50k Monthly, you accommodate them and yet you still give them 1,300 worth of bread daily?
1,300x10x30 = ??
Your business will thrive.
I hope you know that you have to add butter to the bread you dole out and that your sugar and milk must complement the daily bread. If you have sardines in stock you must add to it so that they don't steal.
Then you start to feed them...at first once daily and the twice and then thrice and eventually add mineral to the mix or beer on Fridays.
And then you have to help them with toiletries, and then boxers/singlets.
Then extend their living quarters to accommodate their grandparents who must move in to give them emotional support to enable them stay focused from stealing bread.
This is just act 1, scene 1. Bro its time you adopt reality, i have being to different big bakery, i don't see up to 10 staffs and i doubt if the pay is up to 50k sef Creating a welfare package for your staffs is an administrative cost that can not be undermine .. when we finish secondary school my friends worked in Ok foods .. then you can eat biscuit as much as you like but can't take it out, if you work in nigeria brewery you can drink there product on site but can't take it out, i know a worker in chicken republic, they are entitled to one meal per day thats enough incentive to forestall stealing food & litigation expenses feeding staffs one day out of what you produce in mass can not kill your business ... except you don't have patronage at all.
