Hi

There are some cheap universities and colleges but they’ll depend on the course you wish to apply for and what province. If your residential province doesn’t really matter to you, then you can look into the Atlantic provinces like Newfoundland and Labrador, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, and Nova Scotia. They have one of the most affordable schools and cost of living is pretty low than BC and Ontario.

Secondly, for admission into Fall 2021 for undergraduate study, it’s already late. Most schools start giving admission February 1st for Fall. So, if you want to apply for Fall 2022 (undergraduate), you should look into starting your application when most portal open in fall of 2021, I.e around October/November for early applications. Do make sure to apply before the February 1st deadline for equal consideration especially if your program is competitive.

Finally, if you wish to apply for schools now, you’d probably have to apply for Winter 2022 and those applications should be open in Summer.

Good day all,
Please I'm new to this forum. I would like to know any cheap universities I can apply to. I'm an undergraduate and I would like to process my admission immediately. Is it still possible to apply for fall semester now?

Can the flutterwave digital card be used for tuition payment in over $10,000 CAD
Pinkey2021:

Your three options for this includes:
1. Nig bank Dollar card
2. Flutterwave digital card
3. Asking someone outside Nig to pay on your behalf

Hello Guys,

I'm back after a long time off. Applying for a study permit just got realer.

So, this is the scenario: My dad won't be able to sponsor me. We don't just have that amount of money. He's a businessman and has been able to raise my tuition deposit which is my full first semester fee but that's all. If I should get his BS before paying the fees, how will I get the remaining part of the 30,00 Cad. And if I'm to use his account as sponsor, is it not required that he should have way over the 30.00 cad to show that he can support my education, continue his business and not go broke? If that is the case, even borrowing to complete it won't just cut it.

I have also taught about getting the money to his account (probably borrow to complete it) and then transferring it to mine since I'm over 18. That way I'll get the receipt of the transfer, get an affidavit of deed of gift for the transaction that he gifted it to me to finance my education and then attach his land documents for assets to boost my financial stand. Since this way, I'll just need the exact 30,000 cad as I don't have a business to fund back home or other responsibilities. I seriously don't know if this will work.

Also, I saw on Canada Immigration website that PoF can be education loans. I'm wondering if there are any known lenders that offer education loan in Nigeria as I'm believing that that might also serve as home ties since you'll need to pay off the loan back home.

Second to last, I heard that you can source for organisations to sponsor your education which can be used as PoF. Please can anyone name such organisations. I'm in desperate need of them as time is running out. My admission is for Fall 2021 and I'm yet to apply for study permit.

Finally, I have an admission for Bsc. I applied with my Waec which is currently 5 years old. Do I need to explain to the VO the gap in education and what I have been doing in those 5 years which is currently schooling the same course I was offered admission but just in 300L out of 5. If yes, will I need to attach the transcript of the two years completed? If No, hope the gap won't affect my application eventually. (The Truth is that I don't just have money, time and stress to start demanding for just 2 years transcript from my school. Una know how 9ja wahala be especially Federal school)

It's preferable to get the Laptop there especially for warranty purpose. If anything should happen to the laptop, repair is quite on the high side especially with a receipt that is not from them or theirs.
olasubomy:

Bro, when you get to the airport ask for "Currency Exchange" which is the stand that changes currencies at the airport but only change the very little you need because it is more expensive at the airport. You can hold the bulk of US dollars with you and change at the bank when you want to open your account. It is much cheaper at the banks.

From my little experience being here, things are a little pricey here esp with the conversion of Naira to dollars so if you still have the opportunity, buy your laptop in Lagos.

The proof of funds should be your current balance, you can just get one month statement from the bank and that's if you are asked by the officer. You might be lucky and they don't even ask you for that at the POE still have it handy.

I hope this helps and all the best bro.

Hello,

I need advice.

My goal is to relocate to Canada. I'm currently a 3rd year Nursing student (BSc). Due to the strike and pandemic and uncertainties surrounding the educational system last year, I closed my eyes and applied to just a school (college to be precise) for Bsc Nursing.

I got in few days ago!!!

Here lies my dilemma: I'm currently in 300L and if things go as planned with 4 semesters in a year, I'd be graduating next year; although I don't think personally that that is feasible. Nasu and Ssanu is currently on strike, only God knows if in a few months time, ASUU won't on the basis that FG has not fulfilled their promises.

If God and ASUU willing, I'd graduate in 2 years (this year and next year, Although I'll be adding extra 6 months for uncertainties). I still have to do 1 year internship then NYSC that's about 4.5 years already. If I decide after then to go through PPR, I think I'll need at least 1yr work experience to at least boost CRS score before I start applying. All in all that might take me extra 2 years if I get accepted or 1.5 years... That will be bringing my calculations to 6 or 6.5 years that's 2026/2027. And even if I get there, I'll have to take NCLEX exams before I can get a job. It's also recommended to do at least 1yr brushup course for internationally educated nurses. The certification by provincial council of nurses takes time too... So that's extra 6 months before job search if I take express NCLEX without brush up programs; and 1.5 years if I take the brush up before the exam. That is bring my years calculations to 6.5/7 years or 7.5/8years from this year before I can be licensed.

On the other hand if I accept the admission, I don't think I can transfer my credit because this is the first set to be admitted solely for Bsc Nursing and not practical nursing. If I accept, in 4 years I'd graduate and write my NCLEX upon final year. So I'd be certified to practice there in 4 years and a sure job and 3 years PGWP will be waiting for me because I sure can network and make use of every available opportunity.

So please what should I do. I'm confused, I really want to go but doesn't have a sponsor. Or even someone that can sponsor just my first year with the aim of payment back before I grad.

Someone advised me to just stay and grab my degree and there after try UK or USA since NCLEX can be written here for USA though.

Hi,
I just got accepted to Humber college for a bachelor's degree in Sept 2021. I'd like to start my process as soon as possible but my supposed initial sponsor has encountered some financial difficulties and I don't think will be able to.

My issue is POF. Is it possible to get an academic financial sponsor that isn't related to me, maybe the person can make it seem as if it's a business or company that is sponsoring me since we aren't related by blood or marriage whatsoever.

If it's possible, can I also add my personal bank statement and that of a family member even though it won't amount to more than 5000cad but at least for family support purposes and maybe family land documents...

Also does anyone know if international passport is now available... A friend applied since early December and this is February. She's yet to get hers... I want to apply latest this month ending but I don't want to be waiting for 2 months without reply...
