14 years ago, the people most likely to be on the internet were Nigerians living abroad, and also Nigerian academics, and so forth.

There was no home internet in most parts, and getting internet on your phone was a rare thing. The best way to go online was to visit a cafe, and it was only available in the cities, not in the villages.

Now, we have home internet, internet cafes are for registration, and everyone has a voice.

If you think about it APC also contributed in introducing the politics of hate, insults and division in the last ten years. PDP was corrupt but they were never divisive or insulted us at every opportunity.

As an opposition they capitalised on PDPs failures and sponsored hate and used same rhetorics from Lai Mohammed lying and tacitly celebrating every boko haram attack to the media propaganda, etc.

For example, the only reason any president would have removed subsidy without a backlash is because the opposition are reasonable and didn't try to sponsor NLC.

APC as an opposition were unreasonable and used every means just to seize power. Even in power they are still unreasonable and are using every means to retain it.

Yes this is a Tribal topic , Before delving into this extremely sensitive topic and avoid bias I am Aguda of Kalabari decent ,Bahia Brazil (There was a Topic posted about the Brazilians in Nigeria which to my surprise many did not know about , they are the Saros( Londoner slaves returned to Sierra Leone then later to Nigeria where they were known as Saros adulterated form of Sierra Leone (Funmilayo Ransome-Kuti and basically all English compound surnames are descendants of the Saros, while the Agudas have Spanish compound names , It was around this time around Ramadan, a slave revolt was planed in Bahia Brazil , even though the slave revolt was foiled it caused mass deportationof Brazilloans to Nigeria(indirectly caused by one of rebel leaders wife's ) The bloody revolt was violently suppressed, The Brazilian government had enough of this revolt and as punishment three large ships containing both free born and recently freed slaves ,One was to go to Accra Ghana were they were welcomed warmly by the indigenes from the dock and given land , They are called Tabom which means okay as they could not speak English but Portuguese and Spanish,
The two other Ships Landed in Nigerian Major Ports Lagos and Portharcourt, here there were refered to as Agudas which means cotton in Portuguese,The Brazilians were equally welcomed with singing and beating drums from the Nigerians , They were given lands in lagos popo Aguda ,the Agudas are spread through Lagos ,Abeokuta,Ibadan ,Portharcourt and calabar , In Portharcourt they were settled at Aguda-ma before there fully integrated into major southern Tribes mainly Kalabari(Abonnema) opobo and Okrika , The Brazilians introduced the Spanish native dressing of the Ijaw including the traditional cowboy hat which is now part of the Kalabari culture, The Brazilians still retain thir Portuguese name till date . Good Morning and hope you have a great day ahead my fellow Beautiful dark skinned Nigerians, I came across a Thread on a Nigerian forum and how well articulated they spoke gave suggestions and it hit me , the comments on there were in unity everybody contributed beautifully and the best part no tribalism, what happened? (Rhetorical)
Although the topic discussed is Matured , but the maturity of every well thought comments , well I believe this was way before The Nigerian teenagers started using the Internet .

Because she was a fastidious queen, this made her order the paving of all the most important roads in the ancient town.

The occurrence of potsherd pavements in virtually every part of the area within the Inner to Outer Walls of ife and beyond indicate that the city was densely populated. It is estimated that the city of Ilé-Ifè had a population of 70,000–105,000 during the mid-fourteenth century.

Luwoo was married to one of the high chief of Ife known as Obaloran and gave birth to a son named Adekola Telu who went on to found the Yoruba town if Iwo. She was the first and the only female paramount ruler of Ile-ife known to be the origin of Yoruba civilization, succeeding Ooni Giesi. Ooni Luwoo's reign remains the only one by a female in Ife to date. Archaeological work is still being carried out in Ife and surroundings till today to find out more about the size and extent of 'Apaadi Luwo' and the legacies of this charismatic Oba.

In Yoruba history, several kingdoms are recorded to have had female Obas, including but not limited to; Ife, Ondo, Ijebu, Oyo.

Credonia Mwerinde was believed to organize the death of at least 924 followers in the cult in a fire and mass killing that engulfed the secluded mountain church at Kanungu, Uganda. The mass murder is the largest religious sect mass murder in the world, the second largest is Jim Jones who led 912 followers to their deaths in Guyana in 1978.

Credonia Mwerinde was born in 1952 in Uganda was the leader of Ugandan Marianist cult of the Movement for the Restoration of the Ten Commandments located in Kunungu Uganda. While Mwerinde was officially only one of the cult's "12 Apostles,'' inside the sect she was known as "The Programmer'' and her power was unchallenged, says Therese Kibwetere, Joseph Kibwetere's estranged wife. "Whenever anything was to be done, it was Credonia,'' she said.



Predicting that the world would end with 1999, the cult crusaded for a return to a life according to the Ten Commandments, saying they were the only path to salvation. Through a 163-page manifesto, ''A Timely Message From Heaven: The End of the Present Times.'' cult leaders said they had received messages from the Virgin Mary, the manifesto contains sinister prophecies of famines and wars, of rivers turning to blood and of food turning to poison. The cult maintained fragile associations with Roman Catholicism, which is a strong force in Uganda.

The cult's ranks swelled living in five compounds across Uganda with estimates of its peak membership of 4,000 people. To join, people were expected to sell off their possessions and turn over the considerable sums of money, say many relatives of those who perished at Kanungu. Kibwetere, Mwerinde and other sect leaders had predicted that the world would end last Dec. 31, 2000. When that did not happen, authorities believe members demanded the return of possessions they had surrendered to join the sect, rebelled and were slaughtered but this theory was believed false.




Credonia Mwerinde once led cult followers on an invasion of a relative’s land who had refused to join the cult; the cult burned down his banana plantation. All three of her brothers died off, one by one until she was the sole owner of the land that eventually became the cult's headquarters.

Followers had sworn absolute poverty, chastity, and obedience. The cult included defrocked former Catholic clergy. Catholic icons were prominent at the group's premises and a number of defrocked Catholic priests and nuns dominated its leadership. The cult's followers were drawn from south and central Uganda and from neighboring Rwanda.

She was reported to have killed hundreds of her followers early Monday morning on March 17, 2000, she locked her followers in a chapel, which faced Rugyeyo Mountain, all doors and windows were secured so that nobody could escape and then the building was set afire.

The remains of 530 people, mostly their bones and in some cases only their ashes lay massed at one end of the chapel. Virtually no one could be positively identified, and by Monday night, they had all been buried together in a grave. The fire was just the beginning; police discovered hundreds of bodies of the cult’s members in subsequent days.

Some of the victims appeared to have been stabbed or were strangled. Hundreds were children. Press reports put the police estimates of the overall death toll at 924, surpassing the 914 dead in Jamestown, Guyana, in the November 1978 mass suicide by members of the Peoples Temple. The body count was confirmed in April 2000 according to AP.

Officials discovered the bodies of six hefty men partly dissolved in sulfuric acid, the executioners, police theorized, who had carried out the massacres on Credonia Mwerinde orders. Five men had been poisoned to death and one killed by a blow to the head.

Most disturbing is that, were it not for the smell of rotting flesh, the murder of the last 600 cult members would have been dismissed as suicide, no investigation would have been launched and no mass graves would have been uncovered.

"It would have been the perfect murder," said investigator Eric Naigambi. Credonia, disappeared after the incident alongside Joseph Kibwetere, an excommunicated Roman Catholic Priest and yet to be found. The Ugandan government has declared Sunday, April 2 a national interdenominational prayer service day in memory of the hundreds of people who perished in the Kanungu mass murder.
