@Op: Greetings You have done well to practice crop production. Can you please answer these questions with sincerity? Did you do a soil test? How did you know the best crop to plant on the soil? What informed your choice of fertilizer? At what rate would your fertilizer application be? Let me stop here, please. Insult not intended. God bless your work, Sincerely |

Greetings, Cucumber is a vegetable. Vegetables are sub divided into: Leafy vegetable; amaranth(tete), celosia(solo), Jews malow(ewedu), telfaria occidentalis(Ugu) Root vegetable; carrot (Daucus carota) Fruit vegetables; garden egg (citrulus melangena), cucumber, these are the ones I can remember off hand. Its a 200l course. God bless your work, Sincerely |
The future of Nigerian agriculture still lies majorly on plantation agriculture. Plantations provide a steady pay check, health insurance and every other benefit that other multinationals provide. Its just that it takes a minimum of 5-9 years before bankable results show. I call this, saving for the rainy day. Posterity measure, Generational investment, Inheritance for the children and I can keep on qualifying it. The internet provides good information on cashew business and its still peripherally exploited in Nigeria. Ogbomoso has one of the best soils for its plantation amidst other places in Oyo state, Kwara state, Kogi state and Ondo North from the best of my knowledge. It takes a chunk of millions of naira to set up sustainably and it yields a steady, reliable source of income for the progressive elderly. Nigerians in diaspora and many others should think more of plantations instead of vegetables such as cucumber and other short term crops and think the future. For feasibility study, business plan, implementation and market plans, set-up, maintenance, regeneration of old plantations: We handle that for you, getting value for every kobo.
