*HOW I LOST MY GIRLFRIEND... JOSHUA SELMAN*

IF THERE IS ANYONE I WANT TO SEE AGAIN, IT IS THAT YOUNG MAN OF GOD WHO MADE ME LOSE THE
GIRLFRIEND I LOVED SO MUCH.

She loved me to the point that she was ready to be
disowned by her parents when they wanted her to
marry a rich politician's son and she refused.

The love was simply so
much...She visited me for a weekend and I took her
to a program in a church where I was invited...

The two Guest Speakers for the 1st and 2nd days were
wonderful...We laughed and shouted *Fire* and even
sowed seeds of greatness... And I took my girlfriend
back to my house...

But the guest speaker that came on the last day was the one that caused the whole program to turn sour for me... He did not wear any big shoe or expensive suit... His hair cut was even scattered...

Unlike other guests, he did not have any escort or
security But I noticed that the moment he climbed
the pulpit, the atmosphere changed...

He started singing this song: # "Something more than gold... Something more than silver...
The Word of God in the heart of a believer, is
something more than gold"... And within 5 minutes, I began to see something like a mist, like a thick cloud inside that auditorium...
It was as if, millions of voices were singing that song at the same time. It was not long before I began to hear cries of men and women, boys and girls...: and yet, he had not opened the Bible... The church hall was tense... You would wonder if this was the same church we had been coming to for the past 2days...
"Lord, help me"...
"Forgive me Jesus... "
" Don't leave me this way"
"Jesus, I need You back... "
" Holy spirit, break me... And use me... "
These and more were the deep cries I was hearing
from people around where I was sitting...
The choristers who were backing up the songs were
slain...
Some of them did not know when they began to
shout, through the microphone:" Lord, show me your mercy... "Some were shouting:" I need your revival, Lord... Will you leave me this way"?
I was afraid to open my eyes... The Glory inside that house was too much... When i managed to open my eyes, I didn't see anybody standing... I was the only one on my feet...
The pastor that hosted the program was on the floor, in front of the church, with his wife...
The Assistant Pastors were with him in front of the
church, crying,... The Preacher was lying flat, crying on the altar... Nobody could know who was the
Preacher and who was the speaker...As a Preacher's
kid, born inside the church, I have seen revivals... I
have seen the move of God's power... But, never in
my life had I seen such manifest Presence of
God...And for more than 1:45 minutes, people were
rolling on the floor, crying their hearts out... Yet, the
guest minister did not open the Bible...
I was still standing, looking around for my girlfriend... But I could not find her...

When I went outside... I saw her, lying on the floor, flat, crying... As I tried to pull her
up, thinking that something might have hurt her... I
saw her blouse soaked with tears... Her voice was
already cracked... She had cried her heart out...I did
not care to wait for the service to close ... I managed to guide her back to my house... And throughout that short journey, on the road, she was weeping like a
child...

When we got home and she managed to sleep, right from her sleep, at short intervals, she began to sob, crying out from sleep... And before long, the pillow was already soaked...

The encounter she had in the church followed her home... And it continued like that for 3 days...
She was unable to eat anything...
In one of those nights, as she was praying and crying, she burst into tongues... She was crying and was blasting tongues, for more than 4 hours... How can I forget? The morning of the 3rd day, she told me: "Felix, when that young pastor was
singing that song... My eyes were opened and I saw
Jesus for the first time in my life... I saw the kind of
splendor I cannot explain... I saw His wounds... I saw
Him on the Cross... I saw Him calling me to surrender my life to Him....
Felix, something has
happened to me... And I am no more that same person." The more I tried to cuddle her, the more she was running from my arms...
She asked me: "Felix , did you not feel what I felt? Did you not see what I saw? What I saw is worth more than the whole world. I saw a Crown that I cannot lose... Felix, i have to surrender to Jesus... I have to pack my
things now..."

Before 30 minutes, she had picked her few things and about to go... As she was leaving, we were both in tears...
She told me: "FELIX, I know I love you and you love me too.... But I have to let you go.
At this moment, I have surrendered to Jesus.... It will be better to lose you than to lose that Crown that I saw... "
Tears had dried on our bodies and fresh ones were coming. I could not even stop her...

The girl I knew before had changed... Her face was radiant... It dawned on me that that young man of God had made me lose the girlfriend I loved so much...
And I was angry...

As I rolled from one part of the bed to the other, alone, inside my room, from morning till night... I began to blame myself for taking her along to that program...

Don't blame me... I was not
born again then...Where else was I going to see another girl who would love me like her?
I was furious... Yes, but deep down in my heart, I knew that she had met God...
I knew that this was exactly how it used to be in 1980s and 90s...

On my own, I began to tell God: "If I will ever become a Preacher someday, this is the type I want to be... I will love people to come to my program and lose their girlfriends to God.."
And thank God, in the fullness of time, when it pleased Him to intercept me from a speedy journey
to hell, I understood what happened those days to
my ex girlfriend...

Several times, I have seen that same thing she saw that made her lose me and not care about it.

Friend, if you see what she saw, you will never be afraid to lose any man....
Apostle Paul said that when he fell and stood up on his way to Damascus, 'I saw no
man'... Why are you afraid for us that we will starve if
we continue with this 'criticizing' ministry? Why are you complaining that nobody will host us in his big auditorium and give us big honorarium?
Thanks for your concern brother man... But we can tell the whole world that 'We too, like Apostle Paul, saw no man'...
We did not see honorarium before we left all and embarked on this journey.. We saw a Crown that we must not lose on the last day...

Many are already wearing their own crowns here... They have forgotten the encounters God used to give them when they first met Jesus...

Lord, anybody can go... I don't want to lose the glory you showed me! ...

We don't need too many friends...We don't need those who want to show everyone that they are succeeding in ministry, even when, they are not known in Heaven
Our lives are better with fewer people whose eyes are still on that Crown...

With the help of God, in our weaknesses and fewness, if it please God, we might be able to stop the mouth of lions...
That was how that young man made me to lose my girlfriend..

My friends told me to give her some time that she will run back to me when memories of our sinful past will begin to hunt her...
I waited for months and years, up till now, she did not come back...
Together, with her husband,
they are running a revival ministry in my country

Man of God, I don't know the last time people listened to you and they went back and moved their things out from their boyfriend's house and that was their last days in sin? When was the last time you preached and boys called their girlfriends on the
phone and told them: "It is over... I have met with
Jesus.... And am gone",?

In the last crusade where ministered, you came back with car keys... Laptops, I phones and landed documents... But there was no tears for repentance...

When again are we going to see you preach and men will start falling over another, even without altar call, asking God for repentance for their adultery?

When are we going to hear somebody say about you, that: "This is that man of God that I heard and I left my sins and did not go back to them again?

I know you want to shun your evil ways, but the church you submitted to seems not to have a problem with your sinful lifestyle... From year to year, they don't preach against sin.... Only giving you 100 ways to make wealth, even when you are sinking miserably in sin and addictions...
The abuse of the gospel of miracle visa, miracle marriage, miracle contracts, and fighting of enemies is what brought this demonic wind upon us...

Jacob had all those things and yet, he was crying to God for an encounter...
He had it and that's why we are still talking about him till now...

Two persecuted Christian missionaries in Iran were imprisoned in one of the most notorious prison cells in the whole world for legally torturing prisoners. While there they witnessed how God turned the dark prison into a church.

Authorities in Iran had put Marziyeh Amirizadeh and Maryam Rostampour in jail for sharing their Christian faith. They locked them up in the Evin Prison, the prison in Iran known worldwide to legally torture and execute prisoners.

But as faithful followers of Jesus, these two women never allowed their unlikely situation to hinder God’s purposes in that dark prison cell. Both held on to God’s Word in Luke 9:23 when Jesus said, “Whoever wants to be My disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross daily and follow Me.” So, that’s what they did.

Bringing Jesus Into The Darkest Place

Marziyeh and Maryam brought the Light of the World inside that dark and cruel place. They kept praying every day and all the while sharing the Gospel with their co-prisoners. That’s when God started to change everything.

One day, both the faithful Christians realized how God turned that scary place into a place of hope. The Evin prison turned into a church as many prisoners gave their lives to Christ.

Every day, the prisoners could see God’s miracles and power through the life of Marziyeh and Maryam.

In one testimony that Marziyeh shared, the prisoners came to them after God answered their prayers immediately. Since then, all the prisoners started to respect them and listen to them. Everyone became interested in spending time with both of the missionaries.

Evin Prison Guards Touched By God

Moreover, some guards even came to apologize one day because of their behavior and asked for their prayers. Also, other guards became curious and asked about Jesus after reading the letters fellow Christians sent to the imprisoned missionaries.

Little by little, God changed the hearts of the people surrounding them. As a result, they never felt that their freedom was taken away from them.

After enduring nine months of interrogation, fear of life imprisonment, and the possibility of execution, Marziyeh and Maryam gained their freedom. However, both weren’t exactly rejoicing, because they knew they had to leave their friends behind. Thinking about the innocent people in that dark place suffering had put a burden on their hearts.

Sharing Their Story To The World

“We promised ourselves and we promised most of the women in that prison to be a voice for them. And to share their stories with the world. Because we feel that God had a purpose for putting us in that prison. We had seen many injustices and today we feel that God had put this burden on our hearts. We feel responsible for those people,” Maryam said.

Today, they are sharing their story all over the world to give hope to the persecuted. Both wanted to “highlight the plight of persecuted Christians and inspire people to pray and support their brothers and sisters in Christ who are being persecuted right now.”

Marziyeh and Maryam are encouraging Christians all over the world “not to take your freedom for granted.”

These persecuted Christians have one single request to every believer, according to one Christian who has visited these missionaries in dangerous countries. He said:

“They never ask for prayer that their persecution will cease. They never ask for prayer that their national leaders will be deposed, nothing like that at all. But what they say in every single instance is when you get back home, would you please get everybody to pray for us, that God will give us the strength and the courage to stand up for Jesus and never deny Him.”

No one had a choice

I just have some simple questions for anyone who things a live outside of Jesus makes any meaning.

The questions are :
Questions 1: Lets assume there is no God as the atheist things. Who are you? What do you live for? Why should you live?
Questions 2: For anyone who do not believe in Jesus as the saviour. please, I'm not saying you are going to hell or
your religion is wrong. What will you do when you die and finds out that Jesus is actually the saviour? What will you tel him?
What will be your best defense? What stopped you from getting save now?.

If I ever finds out there is no God I have actually lost nothing, than to find out there is God and I choose not believe in him.

let him that thinketh he stands should take hid less he falls. The first shall be the last.
Let all those who call on the name of the Lord depart iniquity.
Give your life to Jesus today! May God bless you all and help us all.

That one should give his or her life to Christ now when there is still time. A time will come when it will be too late. A friend with the world is an enemy of God. It's a choice. There is danger coming and many people are not aware.

I don't think you read and understood the content, you are reacting to the heading like most people will do. Something's are not sugarcoated to make anybody believe. Some truths are plane and simple. There is no salvation outside of Christ.

Some words are to stand as witness against unbelievers on the the of judgment. The job of a Christian is to witness Christ and not to go trying to convince people or win argument. The job of conviction is for the Holy spirit.

we virtually work and create everything that is needed for human comfort, but look at those that pray to God for their comfort as fools. They want to believe the world just happened and evolved. When you are told someone created the earth, the will say no. who are actually fools?

There are times when you just want to call a friend you haven't spoken with for a longtime. There are people you call often or talk to often. Imagine a friend who has never called like for 6months just called you and started asking for help or money. Now think of a friend you talk to frequently, who among the two will receive your help?.

Now let's imagine a friend that gets around you because of what he or she will get and you are aware of this intentions. Can you give anything of value or vouch for the person?

The last ones are those that will called you everyday making one demand or the other, anytime you see their call you just know that they need something from you. If you had it in abundance, will you keep giving it to them?.

These are the attitudes that most believers exhibit when asking God for something. If we being humans can detect these kind of bad relationships, how much more an all knowing God.
sometimes friends just want to play and discover the other is not getting along, on finding out a problem, they will stop at nothing to see the problem is solved even when it's clear that the problem is above their capacity.
When you have to ask for everything you need or disturb people consistently is a sign of a bad relationship.

Some of us love what God can give but not God, we love what He can provide but not his presence. Looking at the things of God as boring and not interesting. Will you stand supporting or helping people who place no value in you. But Jesus did 2000yrs ago.

Jesus was asked what is the greatest commandment? His answer.
love the Lord your God with all your mind, with all your strength, with all your body.

Eyes have not seen, neither have ears heard what God has prepared for them that love Him and those who are called according to his purpose.

If humans been wicked knows how to give good gifts to their children, how more our heavenly Father.

Break lose from doubt and fear, for He has not given us the spirit of fear but of love, power, and sound mind.

PRAYER
I don't know what has challenged your faith or weaken your conviction, things that have even taken you out of the faith. Our God is not a magician, He does not need to impress anybody, He competes with no one. You can only find him when you seek him with all your heart.

I pray for someone who has lost his relationship with the father to be restored in Jesus Name!!!

LOL.... I am afraid that what you mistook for emotional weakness is a form of Anxiety. I know this because I too suffered this for the longest myself. I always had the words for my comeback, but the moment I ready myself to pour it all out on my opponent, the sudden tremors, fear, worry and feelings of impending doom instead forces me to back away, or face delivering my message with tears flowing down my cheeks.
You can image how "shameful" that would be for a child, let alone an adult.

Not all though many will behave this way. Some could be as a result of low self-esteem. There is a way you can talk to some people and they will commit suicide. What others will take as a challenge, is their worst nightmare.

The show of love, sacrifice and care has made many to switch their faith. This does not stop us from having healthy debates. I agree that many do this to gain recognition or favour from their tribes men or religious fellows, but little did they know that the have pegged themselves to local champions and end up living unfulfilled lives. Anybody that does not support good will not enjoy good even if they may fake it, their end will show it.

I have come to realize that our societies have a large majority of people who can argue everything and proof nothing. Most can't
make comments without using incendiary and belittling words. Self demeaning words is fuel and energy they need to thrive as
seen in their jokes and responses. This religion section and the violent show tribal display of superiority and hatred between
the Igbos and the Yorubas is something really disheartening a forum like this. If we can't hold fired filled conversation without someone feeling
like a loser, defeated or insulted then, we are actually not communicating.

On a general note: whether online, in relationships or day to day activities, we should realize that some people are weak emotionally. How do I know this you may ask? Experience have taught me. In the past I liked to argue a lot, interestingly I'm a deep thinker very difficult to convince. logical inconsistency, coherence of thought and pulling meaning out of context are normally things I won't allow you to get away with. This is what I discovered. Some turn to anger, some to violence.
The ones that really disturbs me are those that start to cry and become so emotional.


On a fateful day I actually argued with a guy that made him to start crying, which is not the first time it is happening. To me it was just an argument, to him I didn't know what it meant. Then I came to the realization of this inherent weakness in people that will make them
argue, talk and go back to soak their pillows in secret. Then I chose a different path.


Here are some lessons I will like to share with a focus on belief and spirituality.
Questions you will like to think deep before you argue, defend yourself or come up
with a philosophy about anything.


1. The path you have chosen for your life now, is it to please someone or out of conviction?
2. If you were not born into the believe system you hold now, will you still have chosen the
path you are following now?.
3. Are you willing to change your path if you find out that your beliefs whether religion
or perspective are not true?.
4. Do you feel hatred or anger towards others when they disagree with you?
5. Can you keep quiet if you know the truth or an answer to a question being asked, but you were not ask to talk?
6. What is your greatest fear or loss if you for any reason decides to chose another path from the one you are following now? Pride, friends,
connections, family, money, influence, life e.t.c
7. What price are you willing to pay for that which you belief?
8. Do you think every human should be bounded by the same moral principle you hold?
9. Do you belief every human being have the right to share their own beliefs with others?
10. If you were to choose between your belief, propositions or philosophy and humans, which will you choose?
Assuming you are right and everyone on earth is wrong. You have a choice to save yourself or the earth, you are sure that
even if you save the earth the people won't still believe you. What will you do?

This is a self examination and evaluation for who anyone truly wants challenges himself, a mirror for retrospection.
The state when we begin to see our-self through the eyes of others. Using our mouth to sow the seed of hope, than fanning religious and
ethnic strife.

Spiritual people believe in existence and a relationship with a God,
Religious people believe in laws and traditions they must uphold to pleased God
Atheist do not believe in God at all....
Existentialist and materialist live for the moment and pleasure.....their minds are filled with the pleasure and materials they must acquire.
Scientism is the belief in science as the way to determine normative and epistemological values

By now, most people will know where the belong already. I strongly believe that most times people who called themselves atheist do not fully
understand what they are saying, but some do.

I subscribe to a Christian philosophical school of thought. The one problem, I have with atheist is there over generalization and undermining attitude towards the impact of Christianity in science. This is not to say that everything supported by science is true.

Either directly or indirectly science owes most of it success to Christianity. Christianity have provided virtually the wings for which science and education are thriving today, both human and material resources. Overall, Christians are considered a total of 72.5% in Chemistry between 1901 and 2000, 65.3% in Physics, 62% in Medicine, 54% in Economics. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christianity_and_science

As at 2016, the U.S has 30% of scientist who are religious and the Uk 27%. Italy, Taiwan, Turkey and India are the countries with up to
50% of their scientist believe in the existence of God. India being the country with the highest standing at 94%.

With the dwindling number of Christians scientist, Christianity still have the highest number of scientist or contributions till date....

Michael Faraday (1791–1867): Glasite church elder for a time, he discussed the relationship of science to religion in a lecture opposing Spiritualism.
Benjamin Silliman (1779–1864): chemist and science educator at Yale; the first person to distill petroleum, and a founder of the American Journal of Science, the oldest scientific journal in the United States. An outspoken Christian.
Galileo Galilei (1564–1642): Italian astronomer, physicist, engineer, philosopher, and mathematician who played a major role in the scientific revolution during the Renaissance.
Blaise Pascal (1623–1662): Jansenist thinker; well known for Pascal's law (physics), Pascal's theorem (math), Pascal's calculator (computing) and Pascal's Wager (theology).
Isaac Newton (1643–1727): Prominent scientist during the Scientific Revolution. Physicist, discoverer of gravity.
Leonhard Euler (1707–1783): significant mathematician and physicist, The son of a pastor, he wrote Defense of the Divine Revelation against the Objections of the Freethinkers and is also commemorated by the Lutheran Church on their Calendar of Saints on May 24.

Andre Marie Ampere (1775–1836): one of the founders of classical electromagnetism. The unit for electric current, Ampere, is named after him
Charles Babbage (1791–1871): mathematician and analytical philosopher known as the first computer scientist who originated the idea of a programmable computer.
J. J. Thomson (1856–1940): English physicist and Nobel Laureate in Physics, credited with the discovery and identification of the electron; and with the discovery of the first subatomic particle. He was an Anglican.

This is not to massage anybody's ego in anyway but to put history in perspectives. The notion that being a christian makes you
dumb, unintelligent, unproductive or unreasonable is unfounded and completely false. I'm a christian and if I chose live in a particular way, eat,
dance and talk; i'm hoping that everybody will respect that.

My hope is that we should live in a society where one is able to share his/her belief without fear. Communicating truth with love. One should be
able to accept or reject what he does not like nor believe in. Mutual respect for people's culture, values and beliefs should form the core of our relationships; placing meritocracy above tribal and religious sentiments. This values build into our people and institutions will give creativity and productivity it natural place. Then Africa, can rise from poverty and break free from the shackles of backwardness.
