blaise26abj:I won’t go on with u. Every body is corrupt but one should know how to properly behave. We obviously do not value life much here. Our orientation and mindset shows everywhere in our society. You are obviously part of this Society... u are a product of it. The governor though he may have been treated unfairly or even there may have been attempts on his life, however, civility and progressive mindset would give him the ability to at least pretend... he was supposed to show value for life and respect for death. All these seemingly trivial things matter in our society. U may find it had to grasp this mentality I am espousing because again, you are part and parcel of this society. |

lexy2014:There is a reason why u couldn’t see theses things. That first utterance “aku orire o” is unstatesmanlike. The hall too was boisterous all through. They behaved like animals. Character in leadership and in most places is everything. It’s the kind of characters we have been defending or condoning that have formed our present society 1 Like |

blaise26abj:A lot of your mentality and many other Nigerians aren’t different from animals. That’s why our society is like this. Why do we adore Mandela and Ghandi to this day? There is what is regarded as civil character. When Saul died David mourned extraordinarily. Mark Anthony eulogized Brutus after he saw their end. Ceaser too eulogized Pompei. These are civil character and human values you are supposed to acquire in schools. These are the real reason why we go to school so that we form the proper mindset and attitude. These are what they teach us in church (or maybe you are not a Christian). 1 Like |

Didn’t u see that the man too raised up his fingers in some victory sign? That’s to tell u they planned it together, with the close family, aids and matured children. What soludo is doing unwittingly is creating another touts to replace those ones he want to take off the streets. This our administrators aren’t smart. If u want to set up such a task force, u ensure u vet the applicants very well. Preferably, employ peoples that graduated with at least decent grade. Those ones are polished and exposed. And it’s very important to set the applicants aside and give them rigorous training for at least a year. The training should be based on civil studies, human relations, history, IQ tests, Gun and weapon handling education, martial art, health fitness, temperament and first aid education. I saw those guys handling some alleged touts in a video some days ago and they weren’t looking different themselves |

Christistruth00:My friend no talk again abeg. U no know has things dey work. You think it was 20 people that were in Benin? Only in the city the Portuguese wrote that there were about 50thousand people. And when u compare it with cities then, it was one of the biggest cities in the world in its time. What’s boat that they couldn’t build. People that then built organised cities with straight roads and street lights (testimony of the Portuguese). Itshekiri was their arm close to the coast. Benin wasn’t a coastal town, but Itshekiri being a junior ally had what was effectively the naval arm of the Benin Empire. When Benin needs to wage wars that had to be around water Itshekiris were bound to provide the necessary logistics. That’s how it works. Even if the Oba had boats which one can imagine it had because they sent ambassadors to European countries and even had a prince of theirs travel to Europe, they most probably would have anchored those boats/ships in ports in Itshekiri and maybe Eko |

Christistruth00:See, it’s because u guys do not understand how things work in the historical past or u just want to satisfy some bias. Nobody comes under anybody voluntarily. Christistruth00:Benin early too we’re lords over this itshekiris. They also provided them their monarchy just like they provided Lagos. In that time of 1400s to 1600s, Benin was the strongest in the area. |

Christistruth00:Una no sabi history. Una just dey look at history from the prism of those Yoruba abija wara bi ekun movies. Warri was an ally of Benin. Warris force is effectively the naval force of Benin. Benin had overwhelmingly influence and control over this people. Wetin be the meany of people fit swim and people no fit swim? I believe I think ear then like u see in Yoruba films is made up of like ten people against some 15people carrying only jazz. War then was the movement of thousand of people with armor, helmets, guns, few horses (as it’s the case with Benin), spears and hundreds of Boats of different sizes. 1 Like |

FreeStuffsNG:The king may have not mentioned it the correct way, but what is the fact and that does happen often in ancient time is that Benins defeated Lagos and confiscated it. They set up a monarchy that became the focal point of Lagos. Lagos paid tributes for more than 300years. This is an acceptance of Benin lordship over Lagos. Benins were effectively the landlord (may not be landowners) of Lagos all those time. It’s only in 1860, about 150 years ago that Lagos got independence from Benin when they stopped paying tax and tributes to them after political wranglings. Still, the royal house in Eko now which is still arguably the most important in the whole of Lagos is of Benin ancestry. This are the facts. No need to drag issues unnecessarily 1 Like |

Agness7:About the local government. Court injunction stoped him. It’s there u can research. There were court cases from many angle that needed spurting out. A lot of credit needs to go to him from the way he administered the state because his time was a turbulent one. There were serious opposition from many quarters back by the federal government. That year he budgeted that amount for his office was an exceptional case. A lot needed to be done in the office after it fell into disrepair. You have to look at the remaining years to see how he prioritize education. Infact, Anambra was later adjudged to be best in education that very year u pointed out |
