Well the sql is in two parts: the first one pulls out the data for all memories stored by one user: SELECT * FROM memories WHERE m_author= '{$_SESSION['user_id']}' And the second attempts to retrieve all comments that individually belongs to those memories above:SELECT * FROM comments WHERE article_id = 3; Please how do I go bout it, so i can print each post(memories) with its own comment below

Programming / A Little Essay Of My Journey With Computers. by Thirdwrist(m): 11:40am On Sep 04, 2016 |
When I stopped comparing myself to the likes of Mark and bill. I quite remember my first experience of a computer far back in my Noble "private" school in Ekwulobia Anambra State, Saint Joseph primary school Ekwulobia. We had a computer lab which I think I saw its inside only once, it was more of a museum because very few were let in, in other to lengthen it's years on this faithful earth. Before my class was let in, I remember we had to have a lecture in the class of how the computers looked like, and what the smaller diveces were called and their uses. I remember the mouse vaguely, and wondering what a rat was doing with a computer. My then computer teacher pulled two boys in front of the class, it was a combined class, the biggest boy in the class and the smallest. She said that computers were classified into two, small computer, pointing at the small guy, and big computer pointing at the bigger one. Till now, I still don't know what a big computer and small computer is. After the preparation that seemed liked we were being prepared like warriors in Nollywood films by a chief priest , on our way to the evil forest. We were finally let into the computer lab. Only one desktop was switched on, and the teacher went straight to Ms word, to teach us how to type, apparently none of us knew how to, after doing what looked stranger than the cornflakes my uncle brought from "Obodo Oyibo". She called the school boy who became famous throughout the school for typing his full name in the computer, to come and display his expertise again. He did, as every other person looked at him with glowing eyes, as if he was ọkacha returning from Olympic victory, coming to play for the national team again. He ramped his name slowly into the computer as everyone erupted into applause, hai! Nwa ma ife! That was my first introduction into the computer world, then I "only saw but never touched", this little law followed me as I first came to Abuja, a small village boy who had to be threatened with blindness before he stopped walking barefooted everywhere, "you see all this blind Hausa people walking around begging for money? They became blind by walking barefoot in Abuja and something 'chuk' them under the foot". My late Aunt had a desktop which my cousins used frequently, I was only allowed to look but never touch. The law also followed me into my second missionary journey in Abuja, as I moved from my Aunts house to my cousin's. Though in a little diluted form. My cousins son touched the computer frequently, and I watched him, and on very rare occasions I was allowed to touch, but I watched long enough to understand a little. Then came my beloved GSTC, my technical college, where we were thought computer in both abstract and in reality, I was taught Ms word, PowerPoint, Coreldraw , Autocard, and a host of others, both in lab and class. At that time I was in NTC 1, the equivalent to class one in a conventional senior secondary school. By which time I had already started counting how much "bear bear" I would have on my chin. A year down the line, I embarked on my third missionary journey, though it was me going back to my late Aunt's place. I was gifted with a laptop by my cousin after he got a new one. Which helped me start my adventure into HTML and CSS. Then I was between 17 and 18yrs, It was around this age Uncle Mark came up with Facebook. 4 Likes 1 Share |

Business / Why Econet Left Nigeria Narrated By Founder Strive Misiyiwa by Thirdwrist(m): 9:17pm On Jul 05, 2016 |
___Sometimes the price can be very high in the fight against corruption. I had the privilege of making Nigeria’s first GSM phone call back in 2001 when I called the regulator to say, “We’re live!” Who would’ve believed then that Nigeria today would have more than 167 million mobile phones?! It all started out as a very exciting new chapter for enterprise in Africa. Shortly after President Obasanjo was elected, the new government announced an incredibly transparent international auction process for three national mobile phone licenses. To participate in the bid, you not only had to raise money, but there had to be a member of the bidding consortium who was an experienced GSM operator. Econet Wireless met the requirements because of its experience in Zimbabwe and Botswana. Our Nigerian partners, which included state governments, local banks and high net worth individuals, were financial investors. The largest shareholder had only 10%. That was the written agreement. I managed to assemble a consortium of 22 investors to put up the money needed to bid. Our shareholders were all Nigerian, mostly institutional investors including leading banks and two state governments, Lagos State and Delta State. The license cost us $285m and was the most expensive license ever issued in Africa at the time. This was 2001. We considered the investment not only about putting together a network, but also about building a nation. We knew it had the potential to transform Nigeria’s entire business and social architecture. Most of our investors had between 1-10% shareholding. Econet Wireless Nigeria had only 5% of the shares, but that was fine because it was 5% ownership of a very big pie. As the “technical partner and operator,” Econet was the company with the expertise to build and operate such a business. Our financial investors recognized this, and also allowed us to receive 3% of the turnover as our fees. This was standard practice in the industry. We were one of the winning bidders and they gave us just six months to set up business and get our network operating. We were under a lot of pressure but our network was live two days before the others! Customers were pouring in. We were number one in the market with an estimated 57% market share. ___Then came the fateful day when I was told that our company must pay a total of $9m in bribes to senior politicians (in state government) who had facilitated the raising of the money to pay for the license. I refused to authorize the illegal payments. Meeting after meeting was held to try to get me to agree, but I would not. The money would not be paid as long as Econet was the operator and I had signing authority. James Ibori, the Governor of Delta State, was demanding $4,5m be paid to him in his personal capacity. He was one of the most powerful men in the country and had a reputation for violence. When he heard that I was refusing to approve payment he issued an ultimatum: ___”Pay or I will chase you and your people out of the country.” I refused. The shareholders met and voted Econet Wireless Nigeria out of management. They cancelled our management contract. James Ibori and his colleagues personally attended the meeting to remove us. After the meeting one of them (a prominent local businessman even today) came up to me and said: “Unfortunately for you, God does not have a vote.” I had to withdraw all my staff and their families: 200 people in all. We left Nigeria. Most of our people had to be retrenched. The loss of the contract almost drove us to bankruptcy as a group. They invited a big international operator to replace us as technical partner and operator. They changed the name of the company from Econet to V-Mobile. Within days of their arrival, the managers of the new operator signed off the payments demanded as bribes. Then what happened? A few noble Nigerians had both the integrity and courage to carefully collect all the documentation on the movement of the money, and pass it all on to me. ___There’s a saying worth remembering in uncovering the trail of destruction that is corruption: “Follow the money”… I bided my time… then I wrote a letter to the United States Department of Justice! It was 2003 www.econetwireless.com/strive_masiyiwa_blog/index.php/its-time-to-play-by-a-different-ethical-set-of-rules-part-7-nigeria-1-of-5/ 2 Likes |

This is a laudable solution, But Nigeria has never been known to be a country without solutions to its malady , everyday brand new solutions are suggested from brilliant minds, but the problem always ends at implementation... Do implement. Walk the talk the citizens are "Belle filled" with all the incecent talking and little implementation... Mr. Thirdwrist : just a concerned citizen. 15 Likes 1 Share |
