CrimeRe: CNN Report: 'How To Rob A Bank.' Do We Deserve The Insult? by ThisDumebi: 6:08pm On Jun 26, 2006
We bemoan the state in which we find ourselves and when we are exposed as a corrupt people we cry foul.If the report is true in all its details, why should we wish it was never reported?Lets stop blowing hot and cold.Fani Kayode is the only one who can espouse the best views about anything nigerian.Has he not seen it? sad
PoliticsRe: Obj New Ministers: Femi Fani-kayode Listed by ThisDumebi: 5:47pm On Jun 26, 2006
It's one of the sad experiences in a democratic imagination that those who obviously subvert the wishes of the people are often recycled to the helpless acquiescence of the populace! It's just sad cry Fani is a great disservice to the trend and direction of our political expectations, I'm weeping!!!!!!!!!!!
PoliticsRe: Obj New Ministers: Femi Fani-kayode Listed by ThisDumebi: 5:41pm On Jun 26, 2006
Fani - or what's his name - spoke himself into the bad book of millions of suffering Nigerians. His perception of our sociopolitical destiny or OBJ's bogus political achievements was always superior.I thought he would lose his life when the third term bid was slain! sad
PoliticsOur Democracy Is Highly Priced? by ThisDumebi(op): 6:58pm On Jun 23, 2006
The clear reason our political system reeks of corruption is that it is highly priced. If the primary essence of all idealogical struggles is service to society, then our political option should not be a context for financial profligacy. Our democracy is not without the tendency for baneful influence. cry

RomanceRe: How Soon Should I Start Dating Again by ThisDumebi: 2:29pm On Jun 21, 2006
Hi Oluchikeh,

Sad indeed that you lost your husband this early.Take heart!
I'm certain that responses to this issue are going to be diverse;
some might feel that it's quite early in the day for you to start
nursing a new relationship others might be of the opinion that
you have to go on with your life.Naturally, you loved your husband
while he lived and it's easy to see that you still do.This is a feeling
that has come to you personally without the benefit of anybody's
impressions.
In the light of this,I'll advise that you follow your feelings. You cant
be wrong about the right time for you to achieve emotional stability
between your sense of loss and of the neccesity of going on.Just
take it easy and follow your instincts.
Will i date a widow?Love is just everything. All the best  smiley

I like poetry and sometimes, when i can afford it,summit myself to its beauty. The other day,i found myself doing nothing, though that wasnt unusual, and so i felt for my pen in my pocket and picked up a paper. This is what i made. Is it a poem? embarassed

THIS BREEZE

This breeze fetches familiar scent and strength.
It was this, the breeze, that caused my
separation from Rijau and with it one love
I owned just months ago.

It blows now as it blew then, throwing
dead leaves to lively heights as they betray
envy for the flying birds;and though leaves
are in flight, some the butterfly others the crow,
those memories that breeze alone can bring
come in droves.

Thanks everyone who had the time to acknowledge my membership.Other N'landers who had a view but didnt have the time for a reply are equally appreciated. A member asked what i'm interested in.That should be obvious, but as a matter of interest, the vistas which the forum opens up can only be felt at the level of sheer excitement. It provides,to my mind, the opportunity for those who can see it, to express what they've ever felt or conceived but have never found the medium to externalise. What's more,I'm often fascinated by the way people feel about events or react to situations. Therefore,if the forum offers this singular chance of taking a peep into someone's psychological make-up or preferences, then i'm much delighted about nairaland, its people and its vision,  smiley
By the way,I'm sick and tired of Lagos, read me the next time i come around  sad
