Shagari was in office from 1979 to 1983. They say his government looted the national treasury. Things were not so good but Nigeria did not go into an economic recession. Then Buhari came as military Head of State and was in office from 1983 to 1985. They say he did not loot. But during his time in office, Nigeria fell into a deep economic recession. Then came Babangida. They say he looted Nigeria from 1985 to 1993. Yet there was no economic recession. After Babangida came Shonekan and Abacha from 1993 to 1998. Abacha was also said to have looted the treasury. In fact, his loot stashed abroad is still being recovered till today. Yet there was still no economic recession. From 1998 to 2015, we have had Abdulsalami, Obasanjo, Yar'Adua and Jonathan. All administrations were accused of looting the treasury. Still there was no recession. Now Buhari is back and we are once again in a recession and you say "LOOTING" of the Jonathan years is the cause? Are we okay ![]() Do u need a prophet to tell u that this pmb is a proven failure? UN secretary-general, António Guterres is concerned that over 201 million people will be jobless in 2017, with an additional 2.7 million people in 2018. In his message to the commission for social development, Guttere said the world was currently going through a challenging period. “This year, the number of jobless people is expected to exceed 201 million and another 2.7 million could be added to the unemployment rolls by 2018. Anxiety is mounting as societies cope with urbanisation, climate change, population growth and other mega trends. In this effort, we must give top priority to achieving gender equality and the empowerment of women," he said. Guttere further said the new UN agenda 2030, required a redefinition of traditional planning, monitoring and delivery of sustainable development objectives.

A federal judge in Washington state on Friday temporarily put a nationwide block on U.S. President Donald Trump's immigration ban. Airlines have begun plans to begin allowing passengers from banned countries to board, according to a person familiar with the matter. Judge James Robart who was appointed by President George Bush in 2003,made his ruling effective immediately on Friday, and Customs and Border Protection has already alerted major US airlines that it will begin to reinstate visas. Following the ruling, government authorities immediately began communicating with airlines and taking steps that would allow travel by those previously barred from doing so, according to a U.S. official. At the same time, though, the White House said in a statement that the Justice Department would “at the earliest possible time” file for an emergency stay of the “outrageous” ruling from the judge. Minutes later, it issued a similar statement omitting the word “outrageous.” “The president’s order is intended to protect the homeland and he has the constitutional authority and responsibility to protect the American people,” the White House said. The federal judge’s ruling, set up a high-stakes legal confrontation between the new president and the judicial branch over his temporary ban on entry by citizens of seven majority-Muslim countries as well as refugees. In his opinion, U.S. District Judge James L. Robart wrote that “fundamental” to the court’s work was “a vigilant recognition that it is but one of three equal branches of our federal government.” “The court concludes that the circumstances brought before it today are such that it must intervene to fulfill its constitutional role in our tripart government,” he wrote. With the Department of Justice reportedly seeking to file the emergency stay as soon as Saturday, it could allow for a narrow time frame for previously barred travelers to enter the country. The state's attorney general, Bob Ferguson, said: 'This decision shuts down the executive order right now. No one is above the law -- not even the President'. The ruling however, is temporary. Legal analysts have said the ban could be difficult to permanently undo because the president has broad authority to set immigration policy.

U CANNOT PUT A CROWN ON A CLOWN AND EXPECT A KING.... History Being Repeated? . In 1983: . $1 = N 1 £1 = N2 Volkswagen Beetle = N1,400 Foods were in abundance Kids were in school Businesses were booming with vibrant economy and people were gainfully employed. No illegal arrest or media trial. Rule of law was maintained. . On 31 December, 1983, he and his criminal gang struck with the excuse of tackling widespread corruption and within few months, . $1 = N15 £1 = N40 Volkswagen Beetle = N8, 000 Kids dropped out of school because their parents couldn't afford their school fees anymore. Businesses closed down. Foods were rationed as people queued up for essential commodities. Many Nigerians lost their jobs because the economy collapsed. Innocent Nigerians were arrested for free speech and human rights violated with impunity. The Constitution was suspended. . He blamed Alh. Shagari's govt for this mess. He blamed corruption, yet he jailed Dr. Alex Ekwueme (the Vice President) but left Shagari (the president) in his palace. . But when another gang threw him out, and within few months, Nigerians started smiling again. Our kids returned to school, food was in abundance again, Nigerians got their jobs back and the economy was revived etc. . In 2015: . $1 = N175-190 £1 = N289-320 Cars were affordable with local manufacturers smiling to the bank. Food was in abundance (at least a bag of rice was N7, 000) Kids were in school Businesses were booming with vibrant economy and people were gainfully employed. No illegal arrest or media trial. Protesters (esp BBOG) were not killed or teargassed. . On 29 May, 2015 when he was 'jega-ed' into power: . $1 = N315-510 £1 = N550-610 Local car manufactures shut down their plants due to harsh economic condition. Famine was unleashed on Nigerians and a bag of rice rose to N22, 000/27, 000 while minimum wage remains N18, 000. Kids dropped out of school. Businesses closed down, millions lost their jobs and inflation is in double digits. Illegal arrest, disregard of Rule of Law and media trial is the order of the day. Peaceful Protesters (esp IPOB) are being killed like chicken without provocation. . Just like in 1985, he's blaming corruption and his predecessor for the same mess he created within few months of assumption of office. "YOU CANNOT PUT A CROWN ON A CLOWN AND EXPECT A KING." #copied |
