It was just the hipocrosy of it all, that the sun shines out of South Africa's ass because they are going to build a few stadiums for the 2010 world cup. that money should be spent on housing, health care, law and order and a million other things.

Having a few glitzy buildings does not make the RSA better than any other African nation when in so many other areas it falls down.

We have to focus on the pain and anquish as it will all be there after the 30 days of football has finsished

Everything of value in South Africa has been built by the whites, the unfortunate fact is that if it was left to the natives, RSA would be no different to Nigeria. The white farmers also feed the nation and many are now facing losing their farms in land repatriation. If this happens, RSA will go the same as many other African nations who can not feed themselves (Zimbabwe as a prime example)

It was the white farmers that made Zimbabwe the bread basket of Africa, now the black farmers can not grow anything and people starve.

The mutual claim of ownership by Nigeria and Cameroon of the oil-rich Bakassi peninsula had lasted several decades with resultant clashes between the two countries. These clashes had often claimed lives and properties with civilians and military personnel falling victims on both sides.

It was, however, Cameroon which took the first step towards legal settlement of the matter when she filed a suit against Nigeria at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), also called the World Court in Hague, Netherlands, in 1994.

On March 29, 1994, Cameroon filed her first application at the World Court.

In the application, Cameroon prayed the Court to ”determine the course of the maritime boundaries between the two states beyond the line fixed in 1975”.

On June 6, 1994, CameCamerooned an additional application on the question of sovereignty over a part of the territory or CameCameroonthe Lake Chad area.

Later, Nigeria filed her defence through writing a brief and exchanging it with CameCameroonch Nigeria replied with a “Rejoinder.”

The Nigerian legal team was headed by a Briton, Sir Arthur Watts, while Cameroon was led by Prof. Allain Pellet. The hearing of the matter started in March 2002.

During the hearing of the case, the ICJ requested each party to withdraw ”all administration and military or police forces present on the disputed territories.”

After hearing of arguments and submissions of both sides, the ICJ presided over by a French national, Judge Gilbert Guillaume, delivered its Thursday, October 10, 2002.

The 150-page document, was in favour of Cameroon, though Cameroon was a dissenting judgment which also favoured Nigeria, but this had no weight legally.

A salient part of the judgment had said, ”In sum, the court finds in favour of Cameroon in respect of Cameroon akassi and the Lake Chad.”

Its judgment also settles the other issues concerning the land boundary. It places each of the parties under an obligation to evacuate the areas falling within the sovereignty of the other, and to do so expeditiously and without condition, and at the same time issues a call for co-operation.

It fixes the maritime boundary beyond the territorial sea in accordance with the territorial sea in accordance with the method advocated by Nigeria.

Since South Africa assumed a seat as a non-Permanent Member of the Security Council for the period 2007-2008, it has used its position on the Council to suppress resolutions condemning acts of violence and human rights violation elsewhere in Africa.

Apparently the supposedly great African nation has no problems with the conflict in Darfur and recent ICC indictment of Sudan’s president, election troubles in Zimbabwe, or the xenophobic violence directed against immigrants on its own soil.

Blinded by self interest as exemplified by Dumisani Kumalo, its UN ambassador, South Africa’s hope to spearhead democratic reforms, justice, peace and security on the continent in the post-apartheid era is becoming an illusion.

Modern South Africa has become a country with no shame.

I stand by my earlier statements, the majority of Nigerians are not clever, they are lazy and dishonest. OK not all are the same, but 99% would be a fair assumption

I am not resentful of Nigeria, I am just telling it as it is, I am not living in cloud cuckoo land like you. Lagos for example is a filthy, stinking rat hole, people do not respect where they live, they chuck their rubbish in the streets and live like animals. That is what lazy people do, no morals, no culture, no hope and no respect for the place in which they live.

Just keep on blaming the rest of the world for Nigeria's troubles. Nigerians are world class at burying their heads in the sand and are in self denial about the state of their country and its people.

Obama may be a black man, so that will mean he will do even less for Africa. Just because he is black does not make him stupid. He understands the same as everybody else that sending funds and aid to Africa is a waste of time.

First the Africans have to start helping themselves and not living off hand-outs.

What you overlook of course is that Obama will never be president. Voting for a party nomination is one thing, voting a black man as president of the USA will never happen in our lifetime.

As for your statement that corruption will diminish, why is he going to kill 90% of Nigerians?

Nigerians are notoriously lazy people, it is not by chance that Nigerians are the number one criminal fraternity on the planet. The 419'ers would rather sit in an internet cafe all day sending their stupid emails than do an honest days work

Even when Nigerians move abroad they are normally up to no good and become involved in petty and sometimes major crimes. Many young Nigerians travel on student visa's, but abuse the trust they have been shown and disappear into the host country illegally. Many people say that they are clever, NO, they are just very lazy and dishonest.

Nigeria is in the bad position it is in because of Nigerians, nobody else is to blame for the countries woes. Nigerians are unfortunately doomed to failure with their current mind set and lazy, dishonest mentality.

The Nigerian mentality is to cheat your way through life and give nothing or little back to the community. The Nigerian way is to blame everybody other than themselves for their problems

They say that you can gauge the status of a nation by it's surroundings, just take a look at the filth and squalor in Lagos and you will see that this statement is true.
