I agree with him upgrading his education for himself not to please in laws but I don't agree that the parents are concerned for their ego. From experience, I believe that they are looking out for their daughter's future. If his business should ever pack up, his certificate can be something to fall back on to cater for his family instead of relying solely on his wife. I have seen this happen. You don't put all your eggs in one basket. Having multiple sources of income for a family man is the best. Working and running a business is not bad. Breaking up four years of relationship is painful though. Truth be told, for an SSCE holder to marry an Msc or PhD holder, that person will have enough money to make the other partner to over look that. It's like marrying down. Truth is bitter Sha. Everyone to his opinion. It's best to be realistic without selfishness.
