Abuja – The ‘Transparency Group’ of the House of Representatives on Wednesday demanded the investigation of Speaker Yakubu Dogara, and others by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) over alleged padding of the 2016 budget.

The lawmakers made this known in Abuja while briefing journalists.


They insisted that Dogara and other principal officers mentioned in the budget padding scam, and Abdulmumin Jibrin, former Chairman, House Committee on Appropriations, be investigated by relevant “external” government agencies.

Jibrin had alleged that the 2016 budget was jacked up using 10 of the 96 Standing Committees in the House.

Speaking on behalf of the Transparency Group, Rep. Musa Soba (APC-Kaduna) claimed that about 113 signatures had been collected from lawmakers from the six geopolitical zones and across party lines before Sallah break.

According to him, this is to compel the speaker to explain noticed discrepancies in the budget.

“We call for an external investigation into the matter, to enable us know if our principal officers are guilty or not.

“For this group, we say the budget was padded and as such, the budget being a document that belongs to all Nigerians, it is no longer an internal affair”, Sabo said.
He called on the speaker to desist from making Jibrin’s allegations look like a problem of the house.

He maintained that henceforth, the speaker, the deputy speaker, the majority whip and the minority leader should confront the allegations made against them as individuals.

“We urge the leadership of the House of Representatives to stop presenting the 2016 budget padding allegations as the problem of the entire house.

“Let those at the centre of the controversy answer to all the allegations made against them individually and collectively in line with legal practice and our criminal justice system,” Soba added.

I keep asking why is it that most Yoruba men don't value their women. They always look down on their women just like the African American man looking down on their ladies to marry whites .

Well I see reasons with them, the Yoruba women are hardly wife material.they are obnoxious, will insult you at the slightest thing and marry them, you will suffer it financially and emotionally. Marrying a Yoruba woman is like a wrong investment and their men know that. They will buy asoebi every weekend, go to party every weekend and use the feeding money to buy jewries . They will then hand your kids plates to buy foods at one mama put. Then forget about fidelity , they will always cheat on you via brother mi ,uncke mi things.

Is it a mistake is to marry any of them . This will help me advise someone that is from Edo state that wants to marry one. I am not generalising but having stayed in Lagos for more than a decade I have come to realise that there women gave this aggressive and obnoxious mannerism. Though not all of them but majority of them . Having stayed in FESTAC, surulere, onipan, ikeja and iyana Ipaja now Lekki i have come to draw this conclusion. This isn't a tribal slur on the "sophisticated" ones but a humble observation

Why do Yoruba have this complex ?their men dont marry their women nor value them. When a Yoruba man manages to marry the Yoruba woman he will definitely have kids outside and their women will be prone to divorce.other tribes divorce also but Yoruba have a higher tendency to either divorce and have kids at home. A Yoruba friend from ekun Kabba axis told me that they encourage their you girls to have kid at home to show that they are fertile . I said no wonder we have a lot of kids born at home and parents dont frown

When a Yoruba woman divorces you, she will be highly welcomed back to their fathers house . She will have her room reserved and this isn't applicable in igbo land or some northern tribe.Do Yoruba encourage their women to be lousy? This is a question

We are proud. I have this pretty Yoruba woman as a girlfriend and the first date .I asked her why didn't she make her nails ...she said that if she makes it her father won't like it because feaces and excreta will be hidden in the nails. I was late to the party put up by one @Adaure4ever asking ndigbo the sins of a clown called Rochas Okorocha, well, the sins of Rochas are too numerous to mention that I wouldn't bother myself going through, besides Rochas is a clown that should never be taken seriously, a clown that has a special adviser on Lagos matters and other obnoxious advisers.
Now, this is a sin of Rochas Okorocha and why he is hated by real ndigbo, yes.. Rochas decamped to APC with promises that igbos are better off in APC, that igbos have been marginalized in PDP by GEJ (clownish statement). Now, after all said and done, Rochas became the chairman of APC governors forum and has remained mute while Buhari has appointed only his brothers to virtually all political and professional offices in Nigeria. In the house of reps where imo have a rep thanks to rochas, Rochas could not use any of his influence to seek any office for any of the rep members from Imo state, he didn't raise any objection..

Now having failed to secure anything for ndigbo in this failed government, the same Rochas led a pack of incompetent and salaries owning governors to meet the master of incompetence called President Buhari only to seek the removal of the only high ranking political office holder from igbo extraction in this dispensation Ike Ekweremmadu. A position ndigbo got only through PDP Rochas claims marginalized Ndigbo.
