Mama triplets that's the spirit! Together we shall shred that weight! @twingirls I am also ttc and had a cancelled cycle in Jan. Maybe starting again this week depending on how my appointment goes. Exercise has not affected me in any way yet. I did do a lot of research and asked to be referred to a nutritionist who did a deficiency test and I also take quite a few multi vitamins (that i am deficient in) well as exercise everyday for 1 hour. It's another reason why I do low impact exercises like swimming and walking. If i can't carry out a convo whilst exercising, that means I'm doing too much so i immediately slow down hehe My consultant said something I'll never forget. He said be positive and do what you feel is right for you so my dear, carry go! We dey your back! |
twingirls: got my sesame seed, brown rice a̶̲̥̅̊₪d̶̲̥̅̊ more extra virgin olive oil 2day!Well done twingirls! I bet you feel more motivated too! Guilt is good hehe however, do not completely cut out your favourite fast foods. Justmake them healthier by choosing healthier options then working it out by increasing your exercise for that day. I still eat cake and chocolates but very little and restrict it to once or max twice a week and that day, I'll do an increased 15 minutes additional exercise if if it's walking! @amina508, can you post what your daily food and exercise routine is? We may be able to make better suggestions. |
Aminat508: pls help me out, i need advice on how to loose weight within 30 days, my weight is 80kg, my height is 5.1nch, i am fat, need how to eat and eat, i took lipton morning and night! Dnt knw how effective is that! Pls help me out my fello nairalands:..Within 30 days? Don't you think that is too fast? How many kg do you want to lose? You have to take it slow otherwise there is a high chance you will gain them right back again. Read through the thread, there are some tips you can pick and start working with. Different things work for different people. Do you do any exercise? |

We went to 3 hospitals in January. 2 private and 1 NHS and were firmly told that it's 1 for under 37 and 2 for over 37s because of the pressure multiple births is putting on health services. In fact, BCRM told us they have had to agree to a national initiative on that. We know the HFEA guidelines are just guideleines and there is no compulsion to abide by them otherwise my council would be funding treatment to over 32s which they don't. |
Gimnaeto: @ graceful pls I need more info about life hospital cos I reside near there, do u no if they do icsi cos dh has motility problem and I have done 2 icsi with another clinic in lag and am about going 4 hyeteroscopy section b/4 trying 4 de 3rd tym. Pls do u no if they do hysteroscopy there too? Pls I nid ur reply soon cos I will be starting by next week. Am so confused, don't no if I should continue wit de same clinic I hv been using or if I shld try another clinic. Pls someone one shld help me . TanxI don't know anythimg about the clinic as I don't live there. However, you can ask for their success rates and compare them? Some clinics are proactive in making sure everything is working well (as much as possible) so do various tests and others have a production line system. So try to do some research and it may help you decide. |
Blendy77: Its not proven medically in any country in the world. Most countries like UK do it just to prevent multiple births not because SET will implant faster than multiple embryo transfer. This is very true. If you are under 37 in the UK, you have 1 put back unless God is really on your side and confuses the consultant that day. 37 and above it's max 2 and it's just to reduce the incidents of multiple births because apparently it costs too much in health manpower! In fact, I jokingly told my consultant I will sign an agreement not to use the NHS for childbirth if he will put back more than 1. He just laughed at me. As afar as I know, all things being equal the only thing that could affect implantation is the age of the embryos so 2, 3 or 5 day transfers. |
twingirls: Hurray! So ∙̣̇∙̣̣̇̇∙̣̣̣̇̇̇G∙̣̣̣̇̇̇∙̣̣̇̇∙̣̇∙∙̣̇∙̣̣̇̇∙̣̣̣̇̇̇O∙̣̣̣̇̇̇∙̣̣̇̇∙̣̇∙∙̣̇∙̣̣̇̇∙̣̣̣̇̇̇O∙̣̣̣̇̇̇∙̣̣̇̇∙̣̇∙∙̣̇∙̣̣̇̇∙̣̣̣̇̇̇D∙̣̣̣̇̇̇∙̣̣̇̇∙̣̇∙ to hav U̶̲̥̅̊ on board!Hehe - I can feel your excitement! I did a one week fruit and salad only diet to kick start my system So 1 cup of decaff tea around 7.30am with 2 bananas cos I walk to work - takes me 30 minutes then 1 apple at 10.30am with another cup of tea Salad for lunch - 1pm and yet another tea 2 oranges or half a melon at 2.45 and tea 1 apple at 4pm then walk home - 30 minutes Fruit salad with Milo no milk at dinner latest 8pm Lots of water all through the day - 1ltr diluted with Ribena On day 8, I added meat one evening always with salad, fish the next day. Meat & Fish grilled so all the fat drips out. I reduced my portion size to 1/3rd what I normally eat. So divided my normal meal into 3 and eat one part then top it up with salad or vegetables and water! (mushrooms, green peppers, beans etc) I eat beans every other day - Mung beans, lentils, chickpeas, green peas, azuki and turtle beans and barley. I usually add about 3 or 4 table spoons to my meal For the sesame paste - I roast it with some dry pepper then blend, add warm water to loosen it and add to my salad. I make enough to last about 3 days and refrigerate it. I try to modify my salad ingredients every other day so I don't get tired of eating. I add olives one day, smoked fish the next, radishes, sesame seeds, flax seeds, crushed almonds, spinnach. If it's an edible raw veg, it will go in ![]() Brown rice is unpolished rice, cous cous is made from wheat and is like coarse ground corn. Do you live in 9ja? There's cous cous everywhere in the North and middle belt areas. I'm not sure what the local name for quinoa, lentils and barley are. Na here I come discover them! I no get energy for threadmill oh. I find it quite boring and tiring so I took up swimming. Hubby taught me over 2 months and I attend aerobic exercises in the pool too. My dear, we will get there! I am 6 weeks in now! |
@ Beetle, I understand your losing the passion. There are times, I've felt someone keeps moving the goal posts on me and leave me feeling things I can't begin to describe. Hopefully, going with the flow will kick start things who knows! All the best of luck! I am rattling seriously! I sat down with a nutritionist after months of researching online and worked out what I needed RDA wise and Pregnacare does contain some of the vitamins required but not all. We have agreed to do IVF just once so I am giving it every chance of success. If it doesn't work out, na adoption get me as I have been putting my life on hold for so long expecting a BFP which never turns up! The radiologist was sure it wasn't fibroid and said polyps. I am glad they didn't see anything and cross at the same time. At least, I don't now have to wait the requisite 2 bleeds before continuing. @ Olivia, keep remaining strong and positive and a mighty amen to your prayers. |
Hello twingirls! *waves I am here* I am on a weight loss programme for IVF too. I have dropped from a BMI of 31 to 27. My target is 25 and I maybe starting treatment at the end of this month! Anyway, I am walking an hour everyday and sometimes more at the weekend. I also swim 3 times a week (finally learnt in Jan) Increased my intake of fruit and veg - have salad for lunch everyday Use sesame seed paste (made myself) as salad dressing Use argan or olive oil for cooking And now only eat wholegrain carbs - so brown rice, couscous, quinoa and yam once in a while |
