Hi guys, I finally got my trv. Two weeks after I had submitted my tuition fees receipt, and about a month after my medicals, I decided to go to the embassy and inquire about my application hoping it would remind them of my file. I filled the form at the entrance and submitted it with a letter of tuition payment from my university. In about 30mins, my phone rang and a lady asked if I was at the gate. I was then called in and given my documents with the visa. It was just done. na God do am! my start date was may 1st and that was on the 6th so I dash go airport, collect ticket waka that day. I didn't submit any extra extra document except an evaluation of two properties my dad owns. All the rest was what they asked for. I prepared my docs using info from this from and I'm very grateful for all your all, Oga Siga and others too numerous to mention. Any of you guys coming to Montreal, hala at your boy! meanwhile, make I continue to search for apartment to stay grin Good luck to all applicants! God dey!

onuawuchi: My application package is ready for submission, the problem is that i don't know where to send it to. I'm in Owerri. Do I mail it to them at the commission or submit it by hand. And while going through the threads here,I've come across VAC as another option for sending my app. How does it really work, I mean the VAC?
When I was at VAC on the 3rd of April, I was told that application by mail is no longer acceptable. That it's necessary to submit everything at VAC by hand. This is because they are preparing to implement the biometric application process, so they've stopped all such mail services. You should call them though to verify.

Then you may have to edit your post because you stated paying your tuition as though you want to do it because it is just a norm and not what you were required to do.

I meant that it seems CDHC is asking most people to pay their one year tuition fees these days.

Which bank is that pls

Ecobank. UBA is worse. Their charges for making a wire transfer are ridiculous.

Were you asked to pay tuition? I think all you have to do is follow the instruction in the mail they sent to you.
Yes, I was asked to.

Huzzie: @Ticklin, owfar wiv ur medicals n payment, u didn't even update us. So ds house can b ds dry, na wa ooo. No medical news, Trv news n admission too,Next week is another week.

sorry guys, since i did the medicals I've been trying to pay my one year tuition fees. I think that's the norm now. The bank has just been frustrating me for a week now, they asked for all manner of documents which I provided. Now they're asking for a separate document detailing my tuition fees (this has been done already in the admission letter) and the school said there's no such other separate document so now I'll just use a dom account instead of this form A thing.

THANKS FOR THE INFO, I REALLY APPRECIATE. BUT I WILL LIKE TO that IF U ARE ALREADY STUDYING THERE OR U KNOW SOMEONE THERE COS I REALLY NEED SOMEONE TO GIVE ME INFO ABOUT MONTREAL COS AM GOING TO CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY FOR MY MASTERS.........THANK U ONCE AGAIN.

I'm not yet there but I have an acquaintance there so if you have any specific questions that I can't answer, I could ask him. Besides, you can read a lot about montreal from the news on the Internet, and forums like reddit.com/r/montreal . You can learn a lot there.

olufunmilola89: HELLO HOUSE, PLS AM NEW HERE AND I NEED INFO FROM ANYONE FAMILIAR WITH STUDY IN QUEBEC OR WHO IS STUDYING IN QUEBEC. I WANT TO KNOW IF I AM TO APPLY FOR MY CAQ AND VISA AT THE SAME TIME OR GET MY CAQ BEFORE APPLYING FOR VISA. AND WHAT ARE THE DOCS NEEDED FOR CAQ, WILL REALLY APPRECIATE POSITIVE RESPONSE FROM THE HOUSE
You have to apply for your caq first. You should get a response in about 2 wks.You will need your original admission letter from your university, four passport photographs, copy of your passport data page. processing fee is 104cad$ or there about. All this info is on the immigration quebec website so check in case I made some mistakes. As soon as you get the email copy of your caq, you can apply to the embassy for your trv with it as they'll fax your caq to the nigerian embassy. you'll get the hard copy much later through post.

Hello house, I need your help on this. Is it ok to submit a scanned tuition receipt to CDHC ? Has anyone done this before without any problem? Thanks in advance.

I changed my mailing address to a Canada address... my contact person in Canada could help me send it via courier.. I hope that is cheaper

Well, maybe it might be cheaper by 6000 naira or thereabout. Sending some documents to Canada is like 12,000 naira.

Well said..

In other words,

Passport photo, and international Passport

Forms

certificate, Transcript, WAEC result, Admission letter etc

Banks statement, letter of sponsorship, affidavit, landed properties documents etc

Birth Certificate, Sponsor's Birth Certificate or passport data page etc

Siblings birth certificate or Passport data page.etc

am I on point?

This really doesn't matter as the people at VAC will arrange it themselves.

Bros, abeg, how much did u pay for DHL

I got my admission letter through DHL. I paid 18,120 naira. Just tell them you need 'pick up' service. The school should give you the contact details of the person that DHL will meet to collect the letter.

Travel / Re: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by ticklin: 6:01pm On Jan 17, 2013
Siga: ...there is no point sending an outdated admission letter....all CDHC cares about is u being a bonafide student....u can apply with the email copy as CDHC accept emailed copies even when they advise u to get a new start date....so, apply with the emailed copy and once the hard copy comes...send it in...

Thank you very much Siga.

No you cannot apply for the student visa now even though you receive the original letter now cos you need to first apply for Quebec du acceptance certificate cos your institution is located in Montreal, Quebec.

I know about that but I inquired at the embassy. They said I can still apply to them while waiting for the CAQ from Quebec.

Guys please help me out. I got admission in Concordia University,Montreal and having recieved my admission letter for January 2013 by post, I deferred my admission to May 2013 cos there was no time for me to process my visa. Now I've recieved the new letter of admission by email but I'm still waiting for the admission letter by post. Can I apply to the embassy now, with the former admission letter attached to the new admission letter I recieved by email, with and a document explaining myself and when I receive the new admission letter by post, I can then send it to the embassy? I no just wan waste time.
