I thought the Christmas giveaway always happens in December but it seems I thought wrong. Every giveaway, i give out free pdf copies of my story to the first five people to quote me. Just quote me and state the story you want. Note that "Captive of my heart" is one book that i can't give out so you are free to choose any of my books, apart from Maureen's story. Merry Christmas in advance 1 Like |
Literature / Re: What Inspires You To Write? by TiffanyJ(f): 8:40pm On Nov 26, 2019 |
I think my love for stories inspired me to write my own. In primary school, I read short stories like Sugar girl mini and malaria and the rest. In junior secondary school I read a lot of stories such as chike and the river, without a silver spoon, one week one trouble, double trouble, Eze goes to school and a lot more. When I got to senior secondary school, I realized that I craved for more. A friend introduced me to foreign romance novels and I read them like craze. During exams, while my mates we're reading to pass, I was reading romance. I read the whole of Catherine coulter's bridal series. They are like 9 in number. I read the whole of Johanna Lindsey Sherbrooke's series. They were also like 9 in number. Reading became like a chocolate stain in my life that wouldn't let go and at a point, I began to toy with the idea of writing my own story. I didn't get to write it until the year 2013, ASUU went on strike and I was in my final year. I began my first story, "The Reluctant Bride." Today, I have written countless stories and get paid for them. It's really good to get paid for what you love doing. Writers are readers. I still read and I don't think i can ever stop reading or writing. 1 Like |

BS continue At this point, all my mother wanted was for the surgery to go well. She and the other nurses began begging my husband to let it all go and conserve his energy into praying for me and the baby to be well. Hearing my mom spoke, my husband calmed down. Soon, the second Doctor came and I was taken into the theater. At this point, l was so cold my body began to shiver. Told the doctors that I'm very cold and they said something will be given to me. An injection was given to me and I passed out. By the time I regain consciousness, I heard a baby seriously crying and my husband telling my mom that I'm finally coming through. The pain on my stomach was unbearable. In my semi consciousness, I could see and hear my mum and husband trying to feed my baby because she was really crying. The surgery was over at past 11 pm that Sunday. So many other things happened that I don't even want to talk about it here. To be honest, I regret going to that hospital. I wished I had gone to a general hospital. For instance, my CS was done vertically and not horizontally. My baby drank water in the womb and she sometimes fight for breathe. My mom and I complained tire but the nurses said she was well. When I insisted for a test to be carried out, it was discovered that she was ill. It pains me to see my little girl in pains. She has been placed on medication. As I'm talking, we are still at the hospital and have spent almost 100k already. This hospital was supposed to be the best in this town-or so I was told. By the way, as for that unprofessional nurse, iI heard a query would be issued to her. She wasn't even free with me. My husband wanted challenge her but decided against it. After all, it would change nothing. So many things happen that made me question my decision to have my baby at that catholic hospital. There were many mistakes. They forgot to write down baby's weight and so on. As I'm typing this, I feel so down. If i had listened to my husband and not register here, all that had happened may not have happened. Mothers to be, learn from my story. If you are discharging too much water, don't just sit at home, take action. So sorry my BS was long. My battery is almost down but i had to quickly write it. Will come back later to edit this. October cappo, BS submitted. I wish all expecting mothers save deliveries. May God save us all from careless nurses and doctors. It can really be a nightmare. 54 Likes 1 Share |

BS This being my first pregnancy went without hitch. I never vomitted, spite out saliva and I was never ill. Not once did I go to the hospital for any form of illness. I slayed my pregnancy and added weight. At seventeed weeks, I went for my first ante natal appointment and the midwives told me I'm doing great. I really wanted to have this bay at 38 weeks. By 37 weeks I was begging God to help me fall into labor but the thing was, labor wasn't forth coming. At 39 weeks and a few days, my husband who works in a different town from where i worked came to spend the weekend with me. He arrived on Saturday evening and was teasing me of the fact that i don't want to put to bed. After dinner that evening, we sayed our prayers and retired for the night. Soon, i noticed that I urinate more often and there was this pressure on my pelvic that wasn't there. At exactly 1:20am I felt a gush of water ran my thigh and immediately knew that my water has broken. I woke my husband up and he decided we should head to the hospital but i told him that aside mild back ache and contraction, i feel nothing else. We decided to wait for contractions to be strong and frequent. What i didn't understand was why water kept gushing down my legs like tap. The water was too much that I had to use my towel. By 3am, the towel was completely soaked. I knew that membrane water wasn't supposed to be this much and wondered where the water was coming from. By 4 am, bloody show came up. Still i was feeling mild back ache and lower stomach pain. My husband was scared at the amount of water coming out from me and insisted we head to the hospital but I bluntly refused. The thing became so unbearable that I told him we have go get going at exactly 6am. We took my hospital bag and a water flask full of hot water. The distance from my house to the hospital is like 20 minutes walk and since i wasn't feeling contractions, I told my husband that we should trekked. As we were leaving, i remembered that there is this leaf that my colleagues told me about. Once u eat it in labor, you will have a smooth one. I know three people that the leaf worked for. In fact, my mom told me she had a smooth labor and birth when she was having me due to that leaf. I got some of the leaf and we walked all the way to the hospital. The nurse on duty looked at me and said i didn't look like a woman in labor. I was calmed, collected and even laughing. She checked me and found out i was only 2cm gone and felt only one contraction in like fifteen minutes. I told her about the water gushing out and she too looked surprised and decided to immediately admit me though she told me I may not put to bed until evening. I decided to go walking. I walked for another thirty minutes and by 8am, the morning nurse came to start her shift. The night nurse filled her in on what was happening. By then, my husband went back home to wash my towel which was very socked with water. The morning nurse took a good look at me and said i was not in labor. I was a bit offended and told her that I'm not a child. I told her my water broke and it has been gushing out like tap for hours. The nurse finally concluded that I was only mistaken my urine with water. She said many first time mom's know nothing about their water breaking. Again i tried to convince the nurse but she wouldn't hear of it. She said i should go home and return when i feel real pains. I was really disappointed with the nurse because it is a Private hospital owned by the catholic church. I expected professionalism and not that. The nurse didn't even make an effort to check the kind of water coming from me. I said nothing more and left. Since i was not feeling serious congractions, I decided to trek back home. Meanwhile, i called my mom and she said she was on her way. My husband was shocked to see me back home so early and i explained to him what really happened. He asked me if I told the nurse that water is really draining from my body. I said yes. I lay down to rest and to my surprise, more water kept gushing down my body. My husband insisted we go back to the hospital and i told him there was no need. It's a weekend. We will still meet that nurse. We decided to wait for her shift to finish. When my mom came, she asked what happened and i explained. By 6pm, we decided to go back to the hospital again. I was only having mild back ache and stomach pain. We trekked to the hospital and meet the nurse on night duty. She asked if i was the patient that came that morning. I told her yes. The nurse looked angrily at me and said she just finished reading the report made on my file. She asked me why i left instead of allowing the hospital to immediately admit me. At this point, i explained what happened between the morning nurse and I. The night nurse immediately sprung into action. She told my mom to go buy pad for me to use because she wants to see the kind of water coming from me. Less than 10 minutes after wearing the pad, it was so soaked I had to change to another. The nurse looked worried and called the doctor. Looking at me, the doctor laughed and said I don't look like a woman in labor but he decided to examine me. He examined me and found out i was only 2cm gone. The night nurse explained the water coming from my body and the doctor said the only way to find out what was really happening was to have an obsteric scan. Immediately, I was taken to the synographer( or whatever they call them). The scanning was carried out and to the surprise of both Doctor and nurse, the scan revealed that there is no lycon. I am completely dry. The water that is supposed to help my baby out is gone and fetal heart rate was really down. "Madam, I'm sorry to tell you this but there is no time to waste, we have to carry out an emergency CS to save your baby." the doctor told me I wasn't surprised. I knew that a thing like this would happen. We went back and i told my mom. She began to cry. I called my husband and told him to come meet us at the hospital cause I will be in the theater soon. When he came, he was too quiet. Knowing my husband, no one needed to tell me he was already too angry to sag a word. The night nurse immediately called the matron and informed her that they have an emergency case. The matron, hearing it was me because my who is an admin staff at the hospital begged her to take care of me came running to the hospital. A form was given to my husband to sigh and was getting prepared to enter the theater. The time was already 9pm and the other Doctor's number wasn't going through. One doctor alone cannot perform a C-section. When my husband finally asked them to allow him and my mother pray for me, I tear ran down my cheeks. I blamed everything on the morning nurse who was very unprofessional. My husband at this point couldn't keep quiet. He challenged the hospital as to why they decided yo hire an unprofessional nurse. He said the Cs was uncalled for as the nurse should have simply induced me that morning but she didn't. I will continue 11 Likes |
