Congratulations to all the latest mothers in the house... pls I have a question o.I went for my baby 6weeks immunisation today and I just got home now and curiosity made me check the card where they do tick the vaccines given and I noticed they didn't tick the Rota1 part and these guys in the hospital didn't tell me anything ( I use airforce hospital Abuja).pls is it that Rota virus vaccine is taken during 10weeks and not 6weeks or the hospital didn't have and didn't tell us or its not important pls help me.

Sis, that Rota vaccine isn't free o. There's a cost to it that's why most govt hospital don't administer it. If am not lying, it costs about 5k if not more.
When I had my first baby in 2019, some Mama's discussed it that's when I first heard that it's not free in Most Nigerian hospitals. When my baby wasn't given, I didn't freak out because I already heard about it on this thread.

The Hospital is a Military Reference Hospital in Kaduna. I took him to a pediatrician and she said it was due to the stressing of hi head during delivery. His temperature was checked other check ups were carried out.

I guess it's 44 hospital ba? That's a good hospital and I trust them. The fact that the pediatrician said it's okay, just observe and see. But if you are not comfortable still you can take the child to Mount Horebs specialist Hospital. It's located around constitution road. It's a pediatric hospital and I can say it's one of the best in Kaduna but very very expensive. ( You go spend no be small but they are very good. The owner of the hospital is a consultant at the pediatric side of Barau Diko specialist Hospital).
When I had my baby in 2019, she came with complications and that hospital saved her life.

By the way, if your wife has a normal birth without complication, I will say you wait at least six weeks before you resume sexual activities with her but first, please make sure she is really ready. Childbirth no be beans. Some women need time to heal physically, mentally, emotionally and psychologically.

I keep vomiting anytime I take my prenatals and I just entered second trimester.....will there be a problem if I stop?

There is a good blood tonic which contains iron, folic acid, vitamin B12 and others. When I was pregnant with my first and couldn't tolerate my prenatal drugs, I took the blood tonic. All I take from my routine drugs is calcium. Try liquid blood tonic. It worked for me. It may work for u

Pls fams, has anyone use nospamine for stomach disorder in a month old baby ....my baby boy has been having stomach issue for days now and MIL is insisting I give him nospamine..

I used nospamine on my daughter when she was a baby and battling with colic. It helps.

December teamies, how far now? Morning sickness don Dy vamoos or e still Dy do some of us strong thing? As for me, I will always thank God o, I never had any morning sickness or vomiting with my first and this second one too nothing like such. Let's remember to eat well. Second trimester will soon come knocking. Infact, some of us for don enter second trimester already.

Mama Omakraid, your BS really got me. You are a strong woman. May your baby girl grow up to make you proud and dry your tears.




By the way, in my early pregnancy, I drank zobo like crazy o ( didn't know I'm not supposed to.) Thank God it didn't affect my pregnancy.

Abeg, does this doctor know u’re pregnant? Ibuprofen is not safe in pregnancy. It can cause heart issues for the baby. Nimartem and embaether are both anti malarial medications (doing the same function, so u don’t hv to use both at once). I ll suggest u go to another hospital abeg

Sis, thanks for your words. I had to change hospital. Went to a government facility and it was far better than the mission hospital I went to. It was discovered I had typhoid, malaria and HP C. Well, I was stopped from taking some of those drugs and new ones were given. By the way, my BP is low. How can I boast it? Any mama with a way out should help me please.

Good evening Sabi Mama's? I need help o. I've been down with serious headache and my temperature went high. Today I managed to go to the hospital and the doctor prescribed ibuprofen tab, Nimartem QS, Embaether, amoxicillin capsules and some others. As I see the drugs, my mind no give me. Abeg, who has experience? Let me know if I should sharperly change hospital. By the way, I'm 11 weeks pregnant.

I went for vagina examination and I was told my pelvis is too small for vagina delivery. I have been crying since morning, this is not what I planned or envisaged baby weight 3.2kg

Cheer up sis. CS is not a death sentence o. Many of us have gone through it and years later, we are happy holding our kids. The most important thing is to pray it goes smoothly without any hitches. Gone are the days women believe that "we must all born like the Hebrew women"
My sister in law almost lost her life because she wanted to born like the Hebrew women even when it's obvious she can't. Last last, Na CS them do remove the big baby boy-already dead because he was tired already. It's been over ten years uptill now, no child.
Till date, she regrets what that hospital did to her. Make them do CS them say no, she must born by herself. Guess what? Na only sorry them told her o.

When I was about to born my first and I wasn't dilating, and my water already broke, scan confirm that my baby heart rate is too low, them say emergency CS. My husband refused. I told him, let's just do it before we go regret later o. My baby was given to me within two hours and she is 2 and a half years now. Cheer up, no be everybody go born like Hebrew women o.

I for don nack una the tory but I see say plenty dust been raise for here and be like say no be right time, plus I've been doing daddy duties!
My wife's pregnancy journey was very smooth and stress free.. We TTC'd for a year and God answered us July last year. We registered under a scheme the moment we realised she was preggy. I chose the scheme cos private hospitals in Port Harcourt can really be expensive.
I didn't miss any ANC session with my wife.. I have the time so I could narrate all these stories better.
Let's fast forward to week 33 which was a bit scary cos wify had a high BP which was handled with few medications. We were given 2 EDDs, 15th and 18th April... We did more than 8 scans during pregnancy, that's because my wife works at an ultra sound center at a point, I had to caution her. Most of the scan said 15th, while two said 18th.
Sunday 10th of April started as a normal cool Sunday, the day started with BD which madam initiated , I have to give in cos una know na..!
By 2pm that day, We were in the sitting room watching TV.. I laid on the sofa, while madam sat pon di floor. She then stood up to get something from the bedroom, that was when she noticed water gush! She called me and I was like so what next? She said we wait! Ngwanu, we dey wait. I been don pack bag keep since. I then call my neighbour, a mother of 4 to come help check my wife, she came and said yes.. Water e yaff break. Madam don wear comfit pad and we dey wait. Could you all believe that after two hours, with the water still running at intervals, there's no contraction whatsoever. All other signs that were supposed to follow refuse to show up. Wify was still laidat.. I come turn doctor dey ask her.. How are you feeling now? She said nothing. Ha.. Nothing ke. Oya begin walk upandan na.. She did and still nothing. Wo after about an hour, making it wakati Meta (3 hours) that water haff broken.. I told her, we're going to the hospiru . We got there about 6pm. They confirmed water haff broke but service sorry cervix yaff not open. Ha, my village people, not today pls .. Well they monitored her all through the night, Baby's heartbeat was fine and she was fine too.. They said its normal in FTMs for water to break and contractions could start 12-18 hours later.
24hrs has passed still nothing. We were then sent for scan at about 10am.. The result showed baby was 39weeks old that day with EDD being 18th April. But the woman said the baby has to come out within the next 48hrs. Ok kila mase bayi? What's next? The doctor said we wait till night that if no show, they'll induce her.
So I stepped out to stroll while wify went back to her bed. Let's than 30mins,i came back to the labor ward, my wife is already on oxygen and drip.. Ha edakun, wazall this? They said the Baby's heartbeat is fainting abi going up! Ejo, pardin?? Don't let me faint here!! My wife has never been sick or admitted in her almost 3 decades of existence.. So the whole oxygen thing traumatised her. I calmed her and told her its just oxygen and its for her and the baby.. I now asked, didn't we just do a scan and everything is fine?? Why on earth is the Baby's heartbeat going up.. to where? At this point, I was scared too but didn't show it. My wife was on drip cos she was weak at this point. My younger brother called me and I narrated everything to him.. That's when he gingered that we shouldn't wait till midnight for the inducement. I then met the doctor and spoke to him calmly. He said well, CS is the next thing that if we wait till that midnight, something could go wrong.. Ha.. Ejo sir, Eni soribu . He said if they induce her, it may not work so well will still come to the CS.
I say ese sir.. Leave inducement out of this.. Let's go straight to CS.. That's how my wife was prepared for it!
At exactly 6pm, 11th April, 2022, Our CP.. Crown Prince was brought out of the operation room .. I didn't know how to feel. He greeted me cry.. I said welcome son !
Ejo, Where's my wife?? After about Anada 15 minutes, I was called to come and assist to carry my wife out of the operation room. Stepping in, I saw my beautiful wife smile at me. I kissed her pon di forehead .... Chai, see love in the theater .
My boy weighed 3.5kg and 50cm tall. We left the clinic after 3days...with baby, mother and daddy doing Fantabulous

Your BS made me remember mine in October, 2019. Like your wife, my water broke without labor and cervice didn't open. After all the exercise I did without improvement, we had to go for emergency CS because fetal heartbeat was declining. My baby is two and a half years already and I'm back for my second missionary journey.

I am very disappointed that this woman's story has been used to create another thread and now people are verbally abusing her, condemning her and judging her. No wonder, many don't speak up. It takes a strong woman to speak up and seek help and now that she did, she has been condemned. Flowergirl040, I'm so sorry things turned out this way. If u can read this, please just don't sit down, seek help. Don't let what others say about you or your marriage stop you from seeking the help you would need. Kokaiye, do the little you can do and rest. Just try to share the work on different days that way you can do them conveniently.
For example, cook for a week or 2 on Monday and stock the freezer with it
Wash clothes on Tuesday etc
It's not easy nursing a baby without help. The day you can't do anything, don't do and attend to yourself and your baby
Try to rest so you don't break down mentally and physically. A friend of mine will say them no dey give medal for strongest woman especially one way just born.
