I waka tire today moving from one shop to another at ADO EKITI just to purchase Redmi 8, but none of the them have it on sale, even SLOT dont have it. . .None of the sellers at the great Fayose Market have the phone. . .I get confused asking myself why is REDMI 8 scarce as gold in ADO EKITI. . .Some of the phone sellers even convince me to buy OPPO A5s, that its better than Redmi 8 and I almost concur, but the Android version make me ignore because it is version 8. . .Why is REDMI 8 SO SCARCE especially in EKITI STATE, even no Redmi carlcare, while REDMI seen to be king of phones on NAIRALAND

Looked for the redmi airdots everywhere. With my legxus until I was totally exhausted from moving about. Had to make do with Samsung Galaxy A20s which the seller at slot convinced me is far better than Redmi Note 8. Wanted to get the A51 but dropping 100k straight off on one device is not what I plan to do now.

Redmi K30 is what is out and has only been available for the Chinese market. The Realme X50 was a reply to the Redmi K30 and matches the K30 spec by spec except for the front camera and the main back sensor maker. They even used a side mounted fingerprint reader and made it available for the Indian market instantly.

Like Xiaomi recent method of releasing Global Versions the Poco X2 is the global Version of the Redmi K30.

Also at the news of Poco going independent their president said they will still rely on Xiaomi R & D this year till they stand on their feet fully and get their own teams down to marketing and research in place.

After the update finishes downloading it will prompt you to tap to reboot/update. Then the update will be installed during that process, during that period please and please don't attempt to press the power button. Allow it to do it's thing and it will come back up.

I see you made reference to custom ROMs, the Note 5 has more intense development with respect to custom ROM even more than Redmi Note 7. Redmi 8 have little to no development right now. Even Redmi 7 has more than it.

In performance, Note 5 is miles ahead of Redmi 8.

In battery, the difference is not too much. Although, the 12nm manufacturing process in Redmi 8 tends to make it look better in the battery department. But it's negligible.

Caveat:To the Redmi 8 fan boys, I know you guys like to take offence when the fact is said about your device, but this is my own opinion and to all extent, true. I said it to convince this guy not to fall for the gimmicks. Prove your own point to him please and not to me as mine won't change.

Double tap to wake up screen is available, double tap to off screen is not available.

You can set one of your home buttons to turn off screen for you though

I lost my RN5 on January 15, probably to a pick pocket. I went to the police station at Ikorodu and I was asked to drop 25k last. I just closed eye forget the phone. What pained me most is that, I ordered for 2 screen guard, 2 pouches and a back battery case for the phone which landed a week after d phone was stolen.
