don't mind some people ,he even said that he cant buy from nairaland because he prefers to buy from official xiaomi store on aliexpress ,but after i showed him the price here,i believe he will be regretting his buy even though he told me to disregard nairaland prices,not knowing that nairaland is more legit than nigeria government

Wetin happen with the MTK G90T chipset on the rn8 pro.

I'm just seeing reviews of people saying all sorts of things about it.
I intend to buy rn8 pro and use it for at least 2 years because it kinda future proof and a low budget device that provide fair gaming.

But my main phobia now is what exactly is wrong with the MTK G90T?

I heard some saying it overheats a lot.
Advice needed please guys abeg na tomorrow I want launch am.

I had this argument about the price of mi 9 ,he said he got it so so and so price on aliexpress and shipped with so amount and paid customs so amount ,i tried telling him that he was on a heavy receiving end,he was bragging of how much he bought it ,i even showed him this and this yet he couldn't believe

Exactly. Whenever they release SD and MTK versions of the same model side by side, the MTK always ends up getting left behind.

Its quite unfortunate that most of the people who sometimes dismiss some phones have never seen or used some phones they dismiss...
Its only on nairaland some people using Redmi 5 note will be dismissing Redmi 8 note because they did use a processor that doesn't please them...

Also you see people reviewing phones they have no clue about or even know anything about the brand...


One thing have come to understand through my Journey thru series of phones and brand is paper reviews and Hands on reviews are totally different and also a one time Hand-use of a phone can't expressly review the full functionality of the Phone...

So Redmi note 8 uses MTK So who cares.... You ain't as brilliant as the phone manufacturer they clearly know what they were doing... HAUWEI Y7prime came with SD450 some say that processor is too low.. Damn it who forking cares.. Most of the people using the Sd450 HY7 prime are happy with battery optimization and comfortable with the Phone.... Its plays soccer and PUG

To the New User's Of Xiaomi there are some trusted peeps you can listen to but there are some that aint worth it.. Someone that is still on Redmi 5, is claiming pro on Redmi 8 why should u listen to that


My Advice is make Yr research on the phone of your chose not only on GSM arena or Nairaland.. Make sure it suits your taste and go for it...

80% of the people on Redmi note 7 here only bought it for Games and camera nothing more..gcam can even make redmi note 3 looks awesome tho

Don't waste money on a device you don't need because people said it.. Follow your pocket and heart

its obvious you know little about phone and specs,the reason why there is review is to know pros and cons and balance with your budget ,nobody was calling any device bad or worse,it was just a harmless review and comparison,we all know that mtk tends to get hot at a point and their low battery optimisation which made a 3800mah battery on snapdragon lasted more than 4500mah battery on mtk,as for the PUGB,there are settings limits to which a certain level of snapdragon or mtk can reach,a almost all smart phones can play PUGB but on a different settings.
So review was based on experiences and encounters with such phones.
As for me i love people telling me an honest review of something so as for me to know what am expecting if i settles with ,
But las las its your money and choice

Lol, if you have the time, read the last 100-200 pages of this thread. From my understanding, you shouldn't just air your own opinion alone, you should verify what is being said by others using the phone as well.

You said it's the first phone from Xiaomi running Android One! That's a NO. If you had read people's post like I mentioned earlier you'll know that all the Mi A series runs stock android. Hence, we still have A1 & A2 before A3.

For the camera, a lot of people has testified to the fact that they've been crowned *chief photograghers* in their departments and offices because of this same phone yet you say the cameras aren't up to par with the likes of TECNO - Like are you for real?

It's an established fact that Xiaomi phones don't come with an *earpiece* out of the box so you don't need to fuss about it.

You said you're not tech savvy but if you had taken time out to READ!, Your review would have been better.

And it's better called a durability test dear not strength test.

When last did you even get selfie flash on a flagship camera?

Your photography skills need sharpening.

Even Indians that complain of everything don't complain of Mi A3 Main Camera Sensor.

GCam even dey to help if you no Sabi snap picture.

From my point of view based on the review that o got on YouTube concerning [b][/b]REDMI NOTE 8 PRO,
I think the phone is more powerful and sweeter than the regular[b][/b]NOTE 8,it can handle absolutely everything thrown at it because of the chipset but the low key there is the MTK G90T built on 12nm which tends to get hot on extreme settings on hrs of gaming.
As for the battery life (4500mah)on paper but in reality it hardly matches other 4000 capacity ba3 because the mtk that was embedded on it isn't known for power efficient,
I saw a video where it was pit against other phones with 4000mah,even 3800 yet note 8 pro ran out of juice long before them about 5hrs+ SOT compared to others 7 to 9hrs+ SOT.
so know what you want and go for it,
More importantly its your money and choice

You have like 2 more updates. One to 10.3.1 and from 10.3.1 to 10.3.4.

False redmi 8 is better. 5000mah,type c port, Better Camera sensor and 18 watt fast charging coupled with better design. The Snapdragon 632 isn't much better than the 439 as people think.

nobody says its a bad device compared to redmi 7,but isnt an upgrade for someone using redmi 7

If you want to get Redmi 8 because it's new, then get it. Redmi 7 is better than it in performance. It's a fact.

If you really wanna upgrade, get the Redmi note 7 or Note 8 instead. You are downgrading by wanting to get the Redmi 8. Big downgrade.

Don't allow someone that don't know the difference between them deceive you because he's using Redmi 8.

exactly the point,its just like porting from note 5 to note 6 pro then simply because it was a new phone as at that time whereas both phones were practically the same ,so Mr porting to redmi 8 from 7 isn't an upgrade
