This writer thinks Chelsea are no longer in the running for the premier league and in fact called them pretenders and not contenders. https://cdn-af.feednews.com/news/detail/642e6443c0eb1acf5e060df868e1b237?client=iosnews&features=8731492125 |
The former governor of Imo and chairman Senate committee of Culture and Tourism, Senator Rochas Okorocha has congratulated Muslims across the country on the occasion of this year’s Eid Maulud celebrations. Okorocha through a statement released by his media aide, Mr. Ahmed Mustapha, urged Muslims to draw lessons and edifying virtues from the life of prophet Muhammad by being ambassadors of peace and progress. “ There are key lessons to be learnt from the life and teachings of the prophet Muhammad, he was a symbol of peace and unity and as we celebrate him we must display the same qualities that he lived for and taught throughout his life” He also urged Muslim faithfuls to use this period to pray for Nigeria whilst fostering the ethos of peace and togetherness. He said the current situation in the country and in the world at large has made it imperative for Muslims and adherents of other religions to live in love, peace, and harmony with one another so that they can collectively confront and arrest the menace of violence and banditry. He further called on Islamic clerics to be at the forefront of the war against religious extremism saying they have a responsibility to use their exalted positions to preach peace, love, and oneness. |
delpee:A little research would have shown you that Rochas Foundation has been training kids in Nigeria for free since 1998. With 14 schools across the country from Ibadan to Jos, Enugu to Owerri, Kano to Yola, I think the foundation has done more than enough on the local front. Over 20000 students have passed through the various Rochas colleges and more than 6000 of them have gone on to attain university education. |
Ethiopian Indigent Students Arrive Rochas Foundation College For Africa. The Rochas Foundation College For Africa has welcomed another set of indigent students from Ethiopia. In a statement released by the Media Director of the Rochas Foundation, Ahmed Mustapha, he noted that the new students arrived Abuja where they were received by a high delegation of the Ethiopian embassy and staff of the Rochas Foundation. “ These five kids have a chance at quality education and the foundation is excited to welcome them, we are very confident that they would be worthy ambassadors of both their home country and the Rochas College of Africa”. “ Our vision is to bring five kids from each of the fifty five African countries under one roof and give them the best education possible “ “ We firmly believe that this would not only help reduce poverty and illiteracy in Africa but it would also serve as a major bridge building exercise that further strengthen the unity of the black race”. He noted further that the kids paid a courtesy visit to the foundation headquarters at Unity House, Abuja, after which they met with the founder, Senator Rochas Okorocha. The kids he said were later flown to Owerri , the Imo state capital where the Rochas Foundation college for Africa is situated. The new Imo State High Court Complex has been taken over by an overgrown weed. The complex, built by the immediate past administration in the state has been abandoned and subject to no use by the new administration. Findings by our correspondents reveal that the multi-Million naira edifice constructed to serve the Imo state judiciary has been overtaken by weed. A resident of Imo state, Mr Chidi Okafor who spoke to newsmen expressed displeasure over the development noting how detrimental the action of the current government is to the progress of the state. Okafor told newsmen that the situation has become worrisome with government neglecting meaningful infrastructural projects that would have aided the development of Imo state. “I find this situation very embarrassing. The new government since it came to power has squarely been concerned with destroying and neglecting meaningful as well as impactful projects of the last administration.” “Look at the demolition of the Imo freedom falls and destruction of other ongoing projects conceived and paid for by the last regime. These projects were funded with our resources, the taxes we pay and our commonwealth.” “The present government should with utmost sincerity and the passion they have for this state settle its differences with the immediate past administration. We cannot watch things destabilize this way and destroy our heritage in the name of politics. They should find a way to bury their ego for the betterment of our state. Enough is Enough.” Another resident, a lawyer who spoke to our correspondent anonymously noted that the current situation was not what electorates in the state had expected when Governor Emeka Ihedioha took over the reins. She urged the new administration to consolidate on the many gains recorded under the last government and continue to drive the state forward. “ Any serious government would have made it a point for duty to continue where the last administration stopped. I see no reason why he ( Emeka Ihedioha) would abandon an edifice such as this “. Imo has in the last few months witnessed the alleged demolition of several of former Governor Rochas Okorocha’s “ legacy projects” by the new government, this has fueled speculations on the streets that the neglect suffered by the Imo State High court complex might not be unrelated to these claims.

Very commendable move by the state government and the security operatives to get ahead of this situation. While one can understand the frustration of these students, it is however important to note that dialogue remains the best course of action. |
Well over 30 new schools have been built from scratch while some many more have been given a face lift. eitsei: |
I took my time to read through this piece on the state of the educational sector in Osun. While everything about the educational landscape of the state is not perfect, I would like to point out that this story is all too misleading. The Aregbesola administration has invested heavily in education and will continue to do so. I saw pictures of school put up here to represent the current state of schools in the state and the desire to misinform Nigerians is all too glaring Let me he by posting pictures of schools in Osun to balance the view. |
sometimes i wonder if you people that post things here ever do any research at all. Tinubu posters? did BAT contest for any political office? when were his posters ever at the APC national headquarters? If you are going to tell a lie, be sure it's a damn good one. Really poor job |
i wait earnestly for the day when GMB will become the president of this country. we need a man with hatred for corruption and at the moment GMB is the only one we have who fits that bill. This GEJ led government has taken us back 20 years with looting beyond what even the like of Sani Abacha could have ever imagined. |
when will we proceed beyond this level of politics, when will the PDP and its cohorts stop dragging this nation backwards |
some people will just come up here and write stories without any proof. Waste of time |
reading this article was just a complete waste of my time. If the APC presents GMB as its candidate then believe me he will be president in 2015. it is madness to keep doing the same thing and be expecting different results. we have tried the PDP for 16 year and this is where we are. time for a change. |
i cant wait for Obanikoro to come to Lagos and test the strength of the lagos people. this time there will be compensatory ambassadorial appointment. #koroloser #koronothing |
