airmark: I will rather put Yobo instead of your robotic Lawal. Yobo was more versatile and effective than Mr Lawal. I disagree. Yobo was versatile only in the defence line. Mr. Versatile can play anywhere you put him in the pitch. You called him robotic and that's exactly what he is. Give him gloves, he will man your post. |

airmark: Weirdo.
You love substandard/average products. Every team functions well with a versatile player in it. Not the superstar of the team but an unsung hero that the coach can readily call on to cover different positions on the pitch. Think Essien, think Milner, think Mascherano etc. |

MorataFC: If every Nigerian player had shown the level of commitment this man displayed, 😅😂😂the SE would have gone much further. I can remember aroud 2006 World Cup qualifying period, there was a match scheduled to be played in London, and Okocha who was based in England at the time claimed he missed the road and did not know the venue of the match. Later that same qualifying campaign, there was a crucial fixture for which barely 13 players or so reported to camp. The coach openly lamented the players’ lack of commitment to the national team, at the end, that poor attitude and lack of seriousness cost Nigeria the ticket to the 2006 World Cup. That guy is too committed to SE cause |

afrodoc2: You can’t slot someone into a role he never played even once in his life ahead of people who played it at a high level.
If we were looking for a CM, CDM, or LB it is a different matter. Lawal had work rate and tactical discipline. Those were his strengths, not speed or technique needed to play as an inverted full back. Sigh. You know what? Garba Lawal is the RB in MY OWN all time list. He MUST be in my line up. He is too important for the team because of his versatility. RB is the position I can slot him in, and I trust him to play that role very well. So he is in MY team. Can peace reign now? |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by timbros(m): 3:34pm On Jan 13 |
afrodoc2: Lawal was left footed. He slotted in at LB sometimes. With his average technique a left footer like him is not slotting in at any RB.
Leave the tales by moonlight story to indomie generation that did not watch him play. You got me wrong. What I meant is that Lawal is so versatile that you can slot him into RB for your all time just to make sure he is in the team. That's how important he is to the team. |
