Then they should treat the citizens from countries where they make large economic benefits with the respect that should be accorded them. The problem is not just with the killings, but with the fact that the South African Government have not tried anyone for the killings of foreigners. I believe this should be accorded to every citizens of other countries. It just so happen that Nigeria has Economic Leverage over South Africa on this matter. Aslo, mind you, the Nigerian company only need to get a capable Technical Partner to ensure a smooth continuous services after take over. harsysky: |
Rufai really walked into that one ![]() pneumatikos: |
Nationalization by Government take over should necessarily not be used here. The Government can come in by making such companies to be sold to Nigerian businessmen who can run the business. Government take over would not be the solution. harsysky: |
Wow, Comrade Oshiomole really got Rufai in this one. Possibly changed Rufai orientation on the way to address killing of Nigerians in South Africa. Oshiomole basically imported the Economic method used by Western countries in resolving issues with other countries. Where Rufai is wrong in the comparism he brought up is that North or South, we are all still Nigerians still under the Law of Nigeria, not the Law of the State. soarnews: |
EdonhappenTv:This might just be a simple case of transfer done, but failed to reflect due to Bank network issue. The story is not clear, they could have patiently waited for it to reflect on the seller's account. Or perhaps call their bank account manager as the case was getting to criminal case. The full story is needed. Did they do transfer and it failed to reflect, or they deliberately did fake transfer to claim new phone for free? |
Mazist:I was about to defend her, by talking about selective arrest. I decided to watch the video. In my opinion these are the kind of acts that should be judged as an act of Naira mutilation. What she did was wrong. For her to use money to sneeze, and throws it off like trash. Money that one can give to persons in need and they would even pray for you. |
nlfpmod:This would have been good if our military has track record of protecting Nigerian citizens, by dealing with terrorist organization. Sadly, most often than not from history, our military are known for been used to disarm communities only for Boko Haram, ISWAP and Bandits to invade them later, thus rendering communities defenseless. In time past, I celebrate our military for this above reported feat, but after seeing this playbook a lot of times, nothing here to celebrate. Except if he is a Bandit. Nothing of such suggest such, neither is there any report of atrocities the said culprit has committed. Citizens have the right to defend themselves when Government fails. Is he really a criminal, if he is, they should tell us the various criminal acts he has committed also with evidence by listing the areas where those acts where committed. |
brain54:Precisely, their last 2 conversation confirms that. |
sweetTai:Why must you hate Northern Nigeria? |
access081:Replaced with Underground cables for proper aesthetic. |
REDshouse:No one knows what Dangote is going through right now. Note that, he has spent almost all his life savings and even borrowed money to build the Refinery. This is one of the major challenges business men operating in Nigeria face. His lenders might be on his neck as we speak. For him to go this length just shows how much he must have been stretched. Nigeria can not keep on increasing petrol price just to make importers of fuel happy. Its a competitive market, let the market decide. and let the importers compete against the person that has Refinery, they should not compel Oil marketers to sell petrol at a high price, when Dangote is willing to sell at a much lesser price. Better still, these petrol importers should come together to build their own Local Refinery here in Nigeria. |
tundegan:Hmmm. Do you have a Radar or an Antiballistic Missile System. War is not fought with mouth, but with military arsenal and warfare gadgets. Let us sue and hope for Peaceful Talk and Resolution. |
slivertongue:Well, if the fight continues, petrol would go back to being above 1,100 Naira, so it affects us both directly and indirectly because of the it is the only Local Refinery in the country that is involve. This persistent action could force Dangote to resume selling petrol in Dollars, which would favour both the Unions and the Petroleum Marketers that import petrol. And it is we Nigerians that would still suffer it. Why is there no local Refinery in the country working right now. If there were other Local Refineries, the pressure of competition would have driven Dangote to agree. Dangote can simply decide to selling petrol to Nigeria and do only export, who looses. As he still makes his money. That is the sad predicament we are in right now. |
engrjosefz: |
Rolings:Where was it quoted in the letter that he sacked them because of them joining Union. These private Company owners do know how to circumvent the law though. The only way Dangote can be held in this regard would be if there is valid evidence either by letter or audio from a top ranking executive or from Dangote himself there is no leverage for PENGASSAN to take action. His tanker drivers are not in NUPENG, neither are his senior officers in PENGASSAN. So any strike would only favour him, as it grounds his competitors while his Refinery flourish. His competitors here would be those importing petrol as they are in the oil workers union. |
ElSudani:I am speaking more in general terms that we Nigerians have come to accept, which is affecting every fabric of our society. I recall, when NNPC allowed an imported petrol that was bad into the country. This resulted in many knocked car engines, with car drivers made to go without able to fend for their families, as they now have to source for funds to replaced their car engines. While listening to radio, many Nigerians were advocating for forgiveness of those officials claiming to forgive is divine. Who spoke on behalf for the families of the drivers who could no longer provide for their children due to the knocked car engines. As a religious person, yes you can forgive, but that should not stop the Government from going on with their findings and holding those responsible accountable to prevent future occurrence. But even Government officials claiming to be religious forgets the case, claiming forgiveness as an excuse, while the rot continues. This goes on in Africa, while we blame Religion for our woes. We should ask ourselves a question, why do the Arab Nations and Western World prosper despite they following same Religion we practice. The answer is simple. Keep on excusing failure and corruption in the name of forgiveness, and it continues. |
What about forgiveness and turning the other cheek? Aren't we Christians anymore?
This is where we Africans miss it with Religion. By this I mean any Religion. That you forgive someone does not mean that the Federal or State Law should not hold such a person accountable. This is what the Western countries and Arab Nations do that they continue to flourish. Here in Africa or Nigeria, we say leave it for God, sadly even the Government agrees to that as well, as the Authority leaves it to God, then no one is held accountable. On a personal level you forgive, but that should not stop the Government from still taking actions. Not until we know this, we won't see the desired change we want in Africa. |
Well, we all know you never wanted to send her any money. You only found an excuse not to. |
Although, there are some decisions made by the former River State Governor Wike of which I do not support. So now, you want him to come back to PDP to fix it, which involves spending his money like before, to make it a viable opposition, only for you all to abandoned him again on election day to support someone who didn't care about the party until Election year. He was not even picked as a VP choice after all he did for the party. Can one really blame his reaction caused by his feeling of abandonment by PDP. But if PDP really want to form a coalition, they should call for a meeting with their board members and State Governors, where such decision can be reached. |
Picking beans is part of cooking. So it counts, but the only question is if Guinness World Record has given her the go ahead to start. |
FalseProphet1:Hmmmmm |
The design might look beautiful. But there are a lot of risk to this design. First of all she seems to have no regards for her own security. The security risk here is huge. 1. Except she has a blind that operates by remote, it means whenever she is in the bathroom anyone outside can see her. Either naked or clothed. 2. This in itself attracts molesters who can try to assault her, and tomorrow everyone would come and say Nigeria is not safe, but some of us use our own hand to cause problems for ourselves. 3. I am sure she would beautify that toilet to the view of the whole people in that community. This advertises to any criminal walking pass her building that money is there. 4. The truth is to have such view she ought to had install such glass in her balcony or place for relaxation. Where she can sit down or rest whichever she might like. 5. Places abroad where such are installed are high rise buildings where the person down can only see the people up as dots and not visibly, or mansions where the large land belongs to the owner so no need to worry about anyone seeing such person as such jacuzzi are installed downstairs such that only people in that house can see the user. 6. Such view is also installed in swimming pool where the users are expected to use his/her swimming trunk just as in the beach. And allowed based on the neighbourhood as they consider children living in the area as well. Since she already installed it, I would advise she installs a blind, and only open the blind whenever she wants to use it only for good sight view. Dear Linda Ikeji please stay safe. |
Olympic sprinter James Dasaolu has appealed for public help to pay for "vital" surgery, which he says will save his career. The London 2012 and Rio 2016 Olympian, who missed the 2018 Commonwealth Games with injury, ruptured his Achilles tendon in training on Friday. Dasaolu requires an estimated £25,000 if he is to have any chance of reaching Tokyo 2020. "This is the biggest challenge I've faced in my career," he told BBC Sport. "I have been feeling great and fast, but just felt a 'pop' in my heel in training on Friday and it was heart wrenching to get the diagnosis." Rehabilitation for people who suffer fully ruptured Achilles tendons can take up to two years, but advanced techniques can reduce that to six-12 months. Winter Olympian John Jackson had a similar procedure less than a year before the Sochi 2014 Games and made a rapid recovery. "The surgeon has told me that I need a specific type of surgery if I want to have any chance of returning to top-level sprinting," said Dasaolu. "That needs to happen in the next two weeks." The two-time European champion, 31, is the joint second-fastest British 100m sprinter of all time. Despite helping the British 4x100m relay team to European Championship gold in 2016 he had his funding removed by British Athletics later that year after failing to progress beyond the Olympic 100m semi-finals. Some encouraging results followed in 2017 and after taking the 2018 season off to support his family, after the arrival of their third child, he was aiming to return to racing in the coming months. https://ichef.bbci.co.uk/onesport/cps/800/cpsprodpb/16361/production/_104577909_jamesdasaolu2.jpg "Being taken off funding means I don't have any medical cover, so I have to find my own way of paying for treatment," Dasaolu said. "Sprinting is our main source of income, so when I'm not running I'm not earning and it's not easy, but my wife is going to go and work and we have a good family support network who are offering help." Dasaolu launched his crowd-funding campaign shortly after the injury on Friday and raised over 10% of his funding target within hours of the site going live. A host of fellow British track athletes, such as Adam Gemili, Tiffany Porter, Cindy Ofili, CJ Ujah, Dai Green, Martin Rooney, Daryll Neita, Reece Prescod and Harry Aikines-Aryeetey as well as Paralympic champion Richard Whitehead have already donated to his campaign and so far over £4,000 has been raised. "I've been really taken aback and really touched by all of the support from people who are trying to get me back on my feet - it's remarkable," Dasaolu said. Adekunle achieved the feat after signing a new deal with the world’s reputable software manufacturers, Apple Inc. The robotics engineer was also named as “Someone to Watch in 2018” by the Black Hedge Fund Group. Adekunle is currently the founder and CEO of Reach Robotics, a company developing the world’s first gaming robots. He also recently graduated with a first class degree and has four years’ background in robotics. Born in Lagos, Adekunle studied in Nigeria before relocating to the United Kingdom as a teenager. After completing his secondary school education, he proceeded to the University of the West of England where he graduated with a first class degree in Robotics. In 2013, he founded Reach Robotics and developed a lot of experience on robotics within a space of four years. Adekunle was also a team leader of Robotics In Schools programme, a programme which encourages and pays attention to students in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). In 2017 MekaMon, he released the world’s first gaming robot, with the special ability to customise the gaming bot to perform personalised functions. The initial launch of Mekamon sold 500 bots, generating $7.5 million. Following this feat, he received support from various organisations including London Venture Partners ($10 million) and Reach Robotics signed a deal with Apple securing exclusive sales in Apple stores. “Impressed by the quality of his robots and their ability to show emotion with subtly-calibrated movements, Apple priced his four-legged “battle-bots” at $300 and has put them in nearly all of its stores in the United States and Britain. Early customers skew towards male techies but a growing number of parents are buying the robots for their children to get them interested in STEM, Adekunle told Forbes in an interview this year. Scientists have found a rapid way of creating magnesite, a mineral that can absorb carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, offering a potential solution to global warming. The research, presented recently at the Goldschmidt geochemistry conference in Boston, explained how magnesite can form at low temperatures and offered a way to dramatically accelerate its crystallisation. Magnesite is a naturally occurring rock used in jewellery and for various industrial processes. Every ton of magnesite is capable of removing about half a ton of CO2 from the air. However, the process normally takes thousands of years in nature at Earth’s surface. In the lab, the researchers showed the mineral could form within 72 days by using polystyrene microspheres as a catalyst. “This process takes place at room temperature, meaning that magnesite production is extremely energy efficient,” said Prof. Ian Power of Trent University, Canada, who led the study. “For now, we recognise that this is an experimental process, and will need to be scaled up before we can be sure that magnesite can be used in carbon sequestration,” he added. https://punchng.com/scientists-create-mineral-to-absorb-co2-from-atmosphere/

Real Madrid on Tuesday announced the transfer of Cristiano Ronaldo to Italy’s Juventus, with the Portuguese superstar saying the time had come “for a new stage” in his life. “Today Real Madrid wants to give thanks to a player who has demonstrated he is the best in the world and who marked one of the most brilliant periods in the history of our club and world football,” the club said in a statement. It did not give any details as to the amount of the transfer but Spanish media reports have said it could reach 105 million euros ($120 million), with the 33-year-old signing a four-year contract worth 30 million euros per season. In a letter posted on Real Madrid’s website, the multiple Ballon d’Or winner said his time in Madrid had been one of the happiest in his life. “I only have feelings of huge thanks for this club, for the fans and for this city,” he said. “But I think the time has come to open a new stage in my life and that’s why I asked the club to accept to transfer me. “I ask everyone, and especially our supporters, to please understand me.” Ronaldo, whose Portugal were knocked out of the World Cup last 16 by Uruguay, hinted after May’s Champions League victory against Liverpool that he was considering leaving the Santiago Bernabeu. “It was very nice to be in Madrid,” he said at the time, using the past-tense. He later played down the statement, but doubts over his future at Madrid lingered. Real Madrid has won the La Liga twice and the Champions league four times since Ronaldo moved there from Manchester United in 2009. Queiroz, famous in England for his spells as Sir Alex Ferguson’s assistant at Manchester United, is currently manager of the Iran national team. Carlos Queiroz has claimed Lionel Messi should be banned by FIFA… until it is proven that the Barcelona superstar is actually human. He guided them to the 2014 World Cup, and made it to two consecutive World Cup Finals by securing qualification for the upcoming tournament which will be hosted in Russia. Iran, as one of the minnows in the competition, are not expected to achieve much – and are always handed tough group stage draws. This summer they will play Portugal, Spain and Morocco, while in 2014 they were drawn in a group with Nigeria, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and eventual finalists Argentina. Queiroz’s men came so close to securing a draw with La Albiceleste, with Lionel Messi’s injury time free-kick the only thing separating the sides. And in an interview with FIFA.com, Queiroz has discussed the brilliance of Messi and the impact he made in that match. “I’ve always said that Messi is an extraordinary player,” Queiroz said. “He’s out of this world. If he were human, he wouldn’t have had that magical moment in that match (Argentina beat Iran in the group phase with a late Messi goal). “I don’t usually like losing, but I didn’t come away from that defeat with a negative feeling. It’s when something magical like that happens that you know that football is alive and kicking, and that’s why it’s one of the best sports in the world to watch. “And it’s even more of a special moment when it comes from a player who shouldn’t be allowed to play by FIFA until it’s proven that he’s actually human!” Read more@: https://www.vanguardngr.com/2018/02/queiroz-wants-fifa-ban-messi/
