Guyman02:God bless u Brother! they will avoid ur post like a plague...but that's the bitter truth whether they like it or not you nailed it perfectly! the crises in Aba Umuahia and the responses/comments i got really dawn on me that Igbo's have a lot of enemies.... there was ethnic, religious colouration into it. they never condemned the show of force by the military rather they praised them. who will see his brothers gruesomely murdered on no reasons and keep quiet... forgetting that tomorrow what goes around comes around...what they did was to tag us terrorist. Good!am a terrorist! it really dawn on me what Nnamdi KANU was preaching... my eye is now open, and i must tell my children and sons of Biafra that we are terrorists As a matter of fact,av lost interest in this entity called NIGERIA. Buhari pushed us to the wall hard...there is a bitter cold war in the hearts of Igbo's take it or leave. thank you for ur input if ur brothers will hear! |
![]() this is ideology that laid deep roots in the mind of Igbo's....even if u kill Nnamdi Kanu,or tag us terrorist... it won't deter us from championing our cause!...infact it will even make our dreams to come true. UNITED IMO YOUTH MOVEMENT(UIYM) email;unitedimo.youth@yahoo.com *MILITARY DEPLOYMENT AND KILLING OF UNARMED CIVILIANS IN ABIA STATE: OUR STAND* The above youth body has watched keenly the unwarranted and senseless deployment of Military and subsequent killing of unarmed innocent civilians in Abia State by Nigerian Army under the guise of military operation "Egwu Eke II" few days ago. The body had decided to observe the scenario first before arriving at a position so as to present her stand on a pedestal of justice, fairness and truth. Having analysed the issue as they unfolded, UIYM after arising from her general meeting on Sunday, September 17th, 2017 at Rockview Hotels, Owerri resolved as follows: 1. That the deployment of Military to Umuahia, Abia State, South Eastern part of Nigeria to interfere in a civil matter that should have been handled by the Police is not only unlawful and condemnable but an outright disregard to the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, 1999 as amended. 2. That the body sees the killing of innocent unarmed civilians as unwarranted, provocative and genocidal which ordinarily, should not have arisen in a nascent democratic state as Nigeria against individuals agitation for their freedom over sheer marginalization of their people in a country with diverse ethnic groups. 3. That the body condemns in its totality the obvious abuse of human rights of citizens as prescribed by the grand norm of world nations over internal issue that should have been settled through dialogue. 4. That the body describe the decision of the five south eartern Governors to proscribe all activities of Indegenous People of Biafra (IPOB) in the region as unlawful, sheer executive recklessness and legal myopism on their side. 5. That the body is disturbed with the rate of executive radicalism and shortsightedness of south eastern Governors in handling issues concerning the Igbos, and described their decision as devoid of the original plans of the Igbos against a long time marginalization of their region since the inception of civilian rule in Nigeria. 6. That the body sees the hurried stand of the south erstern Governors on the issue under review as a hatchet plans to continue in office for second term or remain relevant in the Nigerian politics while selling off their people to their enemies over issues they are bittered secretly in their heart. 7. That UIYM challenges the Nigerian Government to show to the public where, when, and how the activities of IPOB contradicted the constitution of Nigeria after the same Nigerian government accepted to register the body as a non violence entity. 8. However, the body therefore frowns at the leader of the Indegenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Mazi Nnamdi Kanu for setting up the Biarfran Security Service (BSS), without the authorization of the Nigerian Government contrary to the rules of registration. 9. That the Nigerian Military lacks the powers to delare IPOB as militant terrorist group, when the organization has neither detonated any explosive, nor engaged the country in a combat for secession order than peaceful agitation, negotiation and consultations. 10. That the body condemns the action of Mr. President, Muhammadu Buhari for keeping leap service on the agitation of the IPOB since he emerged as President, instead of engaging them in dialogue just as former late President Musa Yar'dua did, that necessiated the peace accord in the Niger Delta region during militant disturbances. Meanwhile, United Imo Youth Movement (UIYM), a soci-political organization aimed at uplifting the wellbeing of youths in Imo State advise that the government instead of engaging her citizens in a show of force should adopt dialogue as the best alternative to quell every form of restiveness, and also consider the agitation in the region for the creation of more states to bring the region to par with her counterparts in the North East, North South, North Central, South West and South South respectively. If this is not done expeditiously, the agitation for self government will continue to arise intermittently. This is our stand. Signed: CHINONSO NKEMGAEMEDI NWAIWU(MAYOR, U.I.Y.M), AKACHI UCHEGBU for(SECRETARY, UIYM). Cc:Laslastic Cc:Mynd Do the needful |
