ghettodreamz: Yea, I was equally told the place is sweet, but getting there is the only issue, is always the best with a good contact of someone who has gone through all these before, I believe in learning from other people's experience about things. I'm presently in India, I initially contacted someone who went there few months back too, he has given me some information, but he told me I will be needing a Nigeria bank account as well as Austria local bank account, that's where I got confused, asking him further questions he thought I was doubting him, I have tried to contact him, but he won't respond to any of my further questions, so I decided I needed to move on in my search for detailed information. I don't want to put my brother through so much stress of going places, when I was processing my visa to Asia I knew what the experiences were like, and dealing with the embassy could be a breathe taking and stressful most of the time, that's why I need detailed info as regarding the whole procedures involved so I don't have my brother stressed out considering the fact that he's gotten a job and family that also needed his attentions.

Moreover, which of the Universities in Austria is your friend studying? Sending documents to many schools would cost more for the legalisation and mail forwarding, but I'm sure it worth it as it's not good putting one's egg in one basket. Timmy, can we chat more better about this, we can chat some times on FB, search me or you can drop me your FB contact info, and we can talk more better, hope to read more from u soon, thanks.

Its better we talk on yahoo messenger....u add me
And regarding the docs legalised..he did photocopy and send to other schl...I don't knw abut any austria bank acct...when my guy did his own..he knew no one in austria talkless of opening an acct there...

Thank you for the tip, I already heard most of those from someone before, in fact he just went there few months ago too, the only thing I needed to get right is whether I will be needing both a Nigeria and Austrian bank account for the process of documents legalization as the guy had mentioned to me, it would have been a lot more easier if I were in the country, but I want to know every detailed info as to all the procedures and every cost load down since I will be sending my elder brother to get most of the things done for me, and you can tell how hard it would be, moving from Lagos to Abuja every time, he has his own work and family too, so I just want to know everything so I don't have to stress him so much about it. As regarding the tuition fee, I think it's 363.68Euro per month, I already chat with an Austrian guy from the same school I had wanted to enrol for my Bsc degree and he already got me abreast of the cost of living there, but the how of getting part time job as an international student is still unknown to me,some people said, it's easy while others said it's not. Moreover, in which school is your friend? How did he get the admission from the school? Did he send his documents to the school directly after legalization by the embassy or the embassy did that for him too? As regarding the cost, I know God will definitely supply that according to His riches in glory.

I will gladly appreciate more info, maybe you can help me to contact your friend to give the load down of every info, thank you!
Where are u now presently.u only need naija bank statement...Well..when he got is docs legalised at d embassy he send it to like 4 university in austria..but he choose one he liked..when he get to austria in a month, he already got a parttime job at a local store and I can't forget wat he told me when we talk on facebook..just a week when he landed..he said o boy austria sweet o.....shalla

Seems we are all in the same boat,I'm planning moving there to study for my Bsc degree program meanwhile,I would like to know how far have you guys gone with the travel processing? I mean, have you contacted any school yet? Do you have any solid contact there at the moment?

@Yuno;

Since you claimed to have once lived in Austria before, were you there on a study visa? How receptive are the Austrians? What's the monthly cost of living for an average Naija student who cook and live a simple life like over there? Information from you as regarding visa and residence permit processing would be gladly appreciated by all, thanks in anticipation of your detailed information..
Guy,,I hope u literate enough to know this guys haven't been on nairaland since 09...so u will wait till eternity for their response...its better u start up a thread on it so pple can advise u and contribute...shalla

Crime / A Nigerian Man Arrested For Attempting To Kidnap His Chinese Boss by timmy1999(m): 3:14pm On Aug 27, 2012
August 27, 2012 – Man Arrested For Attempting To Kidnap His Chinese Boss

Lagos State Police Officials have narrated how they arrested a factory worker, Amaechi Chukwu for attempting to kidnap his Chinese boss, Kelvin Cheng in early August, 2012.www.naijagists.com

The Command’s spokesperson, Mrs Ngozi Braide, a Deputy Superintendent (DSP), who confirmed the arrest, said Chukwu was planning to travel to Canada after collecting the N2million ransom.

The suspect, according to her, was arrested by policemen attached to FESTAC Police Station after the matter was reported by Mr Cheng.

She said Chukwu on August 15, called his boss with an unknown number and threatened to kidnap him if he did not pay the N2m.

“The suspect threatened to kill the Chinese, if he reported to any police station or even try to tell anyone about the threat,” she said.

Cheng, Mrs Braide said, alleged that the suspect told him that he (Chukwu) had been paid N1.5m for the job. The suspect, the Chinese reportedly said, promised to disclose the identity of the person that sent him after collecting the ransom.

Reliving his ordeal, the Chinese said: “I’m from Hong Kong and the Managing Director of Chronotech Nig &Co. Ltd, Amuwo Odofin. On August 15, 2012, at about 12pm, while I was in my office, I received a phone call from an anonymous caller. Around 7:30pm on the same day, the guy called my telephone again and demanded that I should go and pick a mail neatly placed in the factory mail box and read it”.

Cheng said he sent the factory security officer, Mr. Alex, to pick up the letter.

He noted that when he opened the mail, he discovered that it was a threat letter, demanding N2million and warning that if he fails to comply he would be killed.
Cheng said: “I played back CCTV footage to reveal who placed the letter and it turned out to be Chukwu. I reported to the company’s legal department and they advised me to play along.

“On August 16, at about 7am, I received another call from the suspect warning me of the consequences of not carrying out his instructions of paying the N2million and that failure to comply would spell danger.”

The second call, he said, was recorded on his phone as evidence.

Cheng said he pleaded with the suspect to spare his life as he did not have the said amount, but all pleas fell on deaf ears.

The Chinese said he reported the matter to FESTAC Police Division for investigation.

He said the suspect called again on August 17, and told him to bring the money to a particular location.

Cheng said he informed the police before going to the bank at 11am on that day and the Police advised him to put loaves of bread in a bag and conceal it like money and drop it where the suspect had instructed him.

Mrs Braide said Police Anti-Robbery operatives in plain clothe monitored the location until the suspect appeared.

It was when the suspect attempted to take the bag that policemen swooped him

You are such a brilliant and smart lier. Those bolded parts cant happen in real life. First, there is no Airport joining South Cyprus and North Cyprus together, so how could he fly to South Cyprus? @nd, you so ignorant, how can he claim Asylum for some months and collect money? do you think asylum seekers dont follow procedure? you have no knowledge of what you are saying. 3rd, How can he travel to Turkey from South Cyprus as Asylum seeker? Never no Airport joining both countries and he does not have valid resident permit in South Cyprus, so how can he fly? 4th, how can he want to fly to North Cyprus again when he does not have Turkish resident permit? do you think you can just be flying anyhow and the Airlines will carry you without necessary papers? When you talk about Turkey, South cyprus, North Cyprus these are my routes so stop pushing lies and misguiding intending travelers with your idiota information that may kill them soon.
