Thousands of families are arriving at the camps each day. More than 110,000 people who began fleeing Sudan's Blue Nile State in autumn 2011 are now struggling to survive at temporary shelters along a very inhospitable, harsh stretch of land Photograph: Shannon Jensen/MSF
Tens of thousands of people are fleeing the violence in Blue Nile State. Some have been walking for more than a fortnight with their belongings. The new arrivals initially gathered at KM43, a temporary site, but an estimated 8,000 refugees were moved by truck and tractor to KM18, after the water ran out. The 22,000 refugees who had been left at KM43 then walked 25km to KM18

pendo89: poster don't be ignorant.
Facts.

S.Sudan must be the most expensive place in Africa to live in right now.Used to be Angola. You can't afford S.Sudan.
S.Sudanese are very rich.Go there and see how big they live.If you expect to see them show off you are dreaming.
The S.Sudanese can be very hostile to foreigners. DO NOT risk going there to do biz on your own except you have connections with an NGO who can gurantee ur security.
They know many foreigners are flocking there for new biz opportunities and they are'nt taking that with eyes closed.
Almost every S.Sudanese male you see on the streets is an officer.Chances of you getting killed easy are high.
If you think they are starving and suffering you are soo misguided! The place is fertile.
I see nothing wrong in being black. Are you not a black man? They are dark and very tall.
DO NOT TRY to mess up or con one cz ul be dead in min.
Above all, keep up with latest news! Infrastructure is coming up and at this rate it may overtake some of these African countries who feel soo ahead~
Oil they have in abundance. They are co=perating with neighbouring countries 4 development and everything is happening.
From Banks,Hospitals,Schools etc.
Give it few years and see.

Guy, you no get me at all..I didn't say they won't get there..but for now..its a no go Zone for nigerians..things are terrible there..I know what am saying..there is no nigerian living there, except maybe he doesn't have any hope in life again...pls if u have ur fact..post picture of south sudan here...pls don't post sudan pics..I said south sudan..there is nothing on ground for now..they are not stable yet..dey still have sudan to contend with on oil issue, malnutrition,electricity,infrastruction..if you are a nigerian presently living in south sudan,.talk now or remain silent forever...shalla

jerseyboy: Many Nigerian businessmen are establishing presence in South Sudan. I know someone that moved his trucking operation there. The opportunities are imence. They need everything.Roads , houses, transpotation. Nigeria has sent a lot of technical assistance in form of personel with knowhow in various matters. I visted a couple of times in the last year and yes Nigerians are already there trying to do their hussle. OP is ignorant as to how the world works,
I hate pple that lie...u av been to south sudan couple of time,,,why can't you stay there and leave...there is no point in lying about it....

virtuoso01: Nigerians live in every single country in this world.

And do you know that South Sudan is richer than Niger in terms of human and natural resources?

The problem they have is a war ravaged economy and very serious mismanagement/corruption.

And My friend the fact that a country is poor does not mean that there are no Nigerians there. People live where they live as a result of a multiplicity of reasons, not just for economic reasons.

And for your information Darfur is not part of South Sudan.
Look...if u won go live for south sudan..den go..una go just dey make person vex...I no they have oil now..but is there any agreement yet from sudan and south africa on how they share the oil..u can see the fighting going on at the district of Abyie..for now Niger is better than south sudan..if u really want to see things for ursef..I will give u direction and transport fare to go south sudan.instead of saying things u don't know...go to google and read about south sudan..then u no wat am saying is right...shalla

After careful examination and research..I reach the conclusion that the only country in africa that you won't find a nigerian living in..is no other place than SUDAN..Now SOUTH SUDAN..the kind of poverty ravaging that country, is way beyond any comprehension.everything there is against them.EG the weather, the Sun always very hot there, most sudan are black cos of the sun, malnutrition, infrastructure problem..no light..just to mention a few....I don't think any nigerian will risk his life to go hustle for sudan..OR I may be wrong..if you are a nigerian living in sudan...share your views

A 47-year-old Nigerian man has been arrested and charged as a result of his alleged ingestion of 65 pellets containing approximately one kilogram of heroin, United States Attorney Kenneth Magidson announced today [Aug. 16]

A 47-year-old Nigerian man has been arrested and charged as a result of his alleged ingestion of 65 pellets containing approximately one kilogram of heroin, United States Attorney Kenneth Magidson announced today [Aug. 16].

The criminal complaint filed Monday, Aug. 13, indicates that on Aug. 10, Sunday Okechukwu Ogbonu, a citizen of Nigeria, arrived at Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH) in Houston aboard Emirates flight 211 from Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Ogbonu’s itinerary indicated he had traveled from Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Nigeria to Dubai International Airport in the United Arab Emirates seven days prior. He was scheduled to return to Nigeria, by way of Dubai, departing Houston on Aug. 25.

Ogbonu was arrested Aug. 10 after Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers observed questionable behaviour by Ogbonu and believed him to be an internal drug courier.

He gave written consent to be taken to a medical facility for an x-ray, which allegedly revealed multiple pellets containing an unknown substance completely filling his stomach and intestines. He later expelled a pellet, the contents of which field tested positive for the presence of heroin.

Ogbonu remained under the care of medical professionals until he had passed all foreign bodies from his digestive tract and was medically discharged.

A court appearance has been scheduled in Houston.

The case is being investigated by Homeland Security Investigations and CBP
