Religion / Through TB Joshua, I Saw That Jesus Actually Has Power - Israel Tour Guide by tinajohn: 12:27pm On Jun 25, 2019
Nigerian Pastor T.B. Joshua has just concluded a two-day meeting in Nazareth, the historic hometown of Jesus Christ.

The event tagged ‘Nazareth Meeting With TB Joshua’ was held at the Amphitheatre of Mount Precipice, a site of Biblical significance for Christians.

Thousands of international pilgrims flocked to the event in Northern Israel from over 50 nations, which was additionally broadcast live on Emmanuel TV and local Israeli television in Arabic and Hebrew.

Several prominent personalities and political figures, including the Tanzanian President John Magufuli – who was represented by his wife Janeth – were in attendance.

“I feel humbled walking in the footprints of Jesus,” Joshua told the multi-national crowd, stressing that it was “God’s design” for Jesus to come from Nazareth, which he described as “the morning of Christianity”.

In a heartfelt sermon titled, ‘We are known by our love’, the cleric spoke on the divine significance of love.

“What makes us human is not our ability to think but our ability to love. This means love is life and if we miss love, we miss life,” he exhorted the crowd, emphasising that love must be unconditional.

“If you want to love better, you should start with someone who hates you, has bad feelings towards you, who sees nothing good in you,” he stressed.

Continuing his message the following day, Joshua called on all present to “love one another irrespective of our religion or race for love comes from God”.

According to the cleric, “Love for fellow man breaks down all barriers; it melts all hindrances. Love has ears to hear the heart. It dissolves prejudices, misunderstanding and suspicion.”

Speaking practically, he added, “If we are able to overlook the failures, mistakes and weaknesses of our neighbour, then there is genuine love because there is no perfect man on earth.”

After his exhortation, the cleric began to pray individually for the thousands present, many who came with various infirmities and sicknesses in hope of a miracle.

Li Gul Chua, who travelled from China for the event, testified that she could walk freely without crutches for the first time in six years after Joshua prayed for her.

Many fell to the floor at Joshua’s touch, immediately rising to declare they were healed or delivered from ‘unclean spirits that tormented them’.

As the event neared completion, the cleric collected an offering to support the Nazareth area, further explaining how the choice of the Amphitheatre of Mount Precipice to host the unique meeting unfolded.

“I visited here three years ago and I saw this place was abandoned,” he explained, showing clips of the unkempt area, overgrown with bushes during his first visit.

“Given the Scriptural significance of this place, I was moved to contact the Mayor Ali Sallam and ask his permission to renovate,” he continued, stating this was Emmanuel TV’s “contribution to the place where Jesus’ father and mother came from.”

Joshua also referenced the opposition from some religious figures that accompanied the announcement of his visit to Israel, which intensified in the days leading to the event. “Even though there was rancour, it was an act of God,” he submitted.

He called on the foreign pilgrims present to make Nazareth their “second home”, encouraging them to “visit places such as hospitals, schools and other areas that need your attention and show love because the love we give away is the only love we keep.”

“This is the first time in hundreds of years we have heard the name of Jesus proclaimed publicly in Nazareth,” Pastor Hadad, a Nazarene, emotionally commented, underscoring the significance of the event in the volatile, predominantly Muslim region.

“I used to see Jesus as just a story from history we used to attract tourists,” Itay, an Israeli tour guide, bluntly stated. “Today, I saw – through T.B. Joshua – that the name of Jesus actually has power.”

News of the event reached international media, with coverage in The New York Times, Reuters and Israel’s leading newspapers Haaretz and Jerusalem Post.

Religion / TB JOSHUA: Worshippers Seek Nigerian Televangelist's Blessing In Nazareth by tinajohn: 10:15pm On Jun 24, 2019
NAZARETH, Israel (Reuters) - Evangelical Christians have flocked to Israel for a mass faith-healing by a celebrity Nigerian pastor outside Jesus’s hometown of Nazareth.

Some worshippers sang in various languages while others collapsed and even vomited during Sunday’s event, presided over by T.B. Joshua, who has amassed millions of followers on social media from his base in the Nigerian city of Lagos.

“Jesus’s father, Joseph, and his mother, Mary, came from here. What a blessing. No other place would have been better for Jesus to come from. It was God’s design,” Joshua told the crowd gathered in a sun-baked stadium on Mount Precipice.

When the self-described prophet descended from the stage to bless attendees, placing his hand on their heads, several declared themselves healed from sickness or infirmity. Attendants stood ready to catch those who fainted in excitement.

Minerva Resendiz, from Mexico, said she had come to see Joshua as part of the two-day gathering “to ask for healing, for a breakthrough ... to resolve conflicts in the family”.

“I would like that (all people) could see a miracle through Jesus Christ,” Resendiz, 40, said. Other pilgrims came from China, Russia and African and South American countries.

Joshua founded and leads an evangelical ministry called The Synagogue, Church of All Nations. His Christian television network, Emmanuel TV, says it is YouTube’s most subscribed to ministry channel with well over one million followers.

Evangelicals made up roughly half of the more than 2 million Christian pilgrims who visited Israel in 2018, according to the International Christian Embassy in Jerusalem, which oversees evangelical outreach to Israel.

Today, June 12th 2019, T.B. Joshua turns 56 years old!!!

Remember what the man of God said on Sunday concerning how God wants us to celebrate this special occasion: “If you really love your pastor, you should dedicate June 12th to take your time to meet the sick ones, to have friends who have been bedridden for many years. There will be no gathering, no coming together to cut a cake. On June 12th, rededicate yourself to the acts of giving. When you do that, your destiny will be reshaped. The love you give away is the ONLY love you keep…” #TBJoshua #HappyBirthday

Religion / How To Celebrate My Birthday – Tb Joshua by tinajohn: 9:18am On Jun 12, 2019

Nigerian Prophet T.B. Joshua turns 56 on Wednesday June 12th 2019 – but the respected cleric has an unusual message for those who wish to celebrate the occasion.

"If you really love your pastor, you should dedicate June 12th to take your time to meet the sick ones, to have friends who have been bedridden for many years,” Joshua told the teeming multi-national congregants at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN).

“Many of them have been abandoned for years,” he extolled his listeners in a sermon subsequently uploaded to YouTube. “Be their family. Give them your number and have theirs... Introduce your children to this good habit. That is a divine legacy – so that they can continue when you are no longer living.”

“There is no gathering; there is no coming together to cut a cake,” he emphasised. "On June 12th, rededicate yourself to the acts of giving. The giving we are talking about should not be selective. When you are doing that, your destiny will be reshaped.”

Joshua then spoke on the paramount virtues of love. “The love you give away is the only love you keep,” he counselled. “You are a human being not because you have ability to think but because you have ability to love.”

The cleric’s assertion regarding his birthday comes on the heels of his refusal to collect an offering at an event in UK attended by over 15,000 people, rather insisting that attendees give the offering to their “neighbours in need”.

Joshua was born 56 years ago in a humble, poverty-stricken home in Arigidi-Akoko in Ondo State, Nigeria but has risen to be counted as one of Africa’s most influential individuals and his church the foremost destination for religious tourism in West Africa.

T.B. Joshua shocks mammoth crowd at UK crusade: Give your offering to your neighbour

A YouTube video from unconventional Nigerian prophet, T.B. Joshua, has surfaced, showing what it calls “the largest church offering never collected”.

On June 1, 2019, more than 15,000 gathered in the prestigious FlyDSA Arena in Sheffield, UK for an event dubbed: “Emmanuel TV UK Revival.”
In events of such nature, it is customary for attendees to pay a ticket fee and for the minister to also announce an offering – oftentimes more than once – in order to accrue financial support.

Joshua, however, broke the protocol.

Although he was not physically present at the event, one of his ministers asked all present at the packed-out indoor stadium to rise in anticipation of a large-scale offering.

“It is true there is need for your offering here,” he said, adding that such acts did have Biblical backing. “But there are some of your neighbours who need this offering more than we do.”

To the bewilderment of the multinational congregants, he then asked everyone to rather use their intended offering to help a neighbour in need, stressing that such love should not be discriminatory but freely rendered to all “irrespective of religion, race, background or ethnicity.”

“See your contribution to others daily as an assignment from God… God measures our lives by our love for our neighbour,” he stressed in a sermon titled: “The Core Of God’s Message To Mankind,” adding: “We are what we do, not only what we say – so match your actions with your words.”

The event, held at one of the UK’s primary sport and entertainment arenas, was free-entry – the first time in the venue’s history for organisers to make such a rare move.

“If you pay a fee to enter the event today, whatever you claim to receive is not from the love of God because healing, deliverance and miracles cannot be exchanged with whatever,” the minister from The Synagogue Church of All Nations emphasised, as overflow crowds swarmed outside.

If, he added, any attendee still wished to provide support to the ministry, that decision should be “carefully examined in the light of God’s Word because love is a relationship” and not simply offered because of attendance at the event.

“Let it come from your heart,” he pointedly told the sombre audience – many of whom had travelled from as far as the Americas, Asia and Australia to participate.

The uncommon message, coupled with the remarkable miracles that unfolded thereafter, elicited lots of reactions on social media.

“I have NEVER seen a pastor refuse to collect an offering, most especially one in such a large event in a country like England, which would probably bring in millions,” Phil, a British attendee at the event, reflected on Instagram.

“For all pastors who act like businessmen in the ministry and preach more about prosperity than salvation, this is a big wake-up call,” Judith opined on Facebook, lamenting the intertwining of ministry and money-making, which has led to scepticism and cynicism towards evangelical Christianity in many quarters.

The “revival”, streamed live on YouTube and Facebook, has already been viewed by over 250,000 people.

Joshua’s next meeting is scheduled for Nazareth, Israel, the historic hometown of Jesus Christ, on June 23 and 24, 2019.

Politics / "No Religion Is Greater Than Another" - Pastor Yemi Osinbajo... ? by tinajohn: 1:07pm On Jun 05, 2019
https://www.thecable.ng/osinbajo-buhari-said-youre-insane-if-you-say-allah-akbar-and-kill-someone

I just read this article above. Let's not forget that Vice President Yemi Osinbajo is equally a Pastor with the Redeemed Christian Church Of God (RCCG) under Pastor Enoch Adeboye. The language ‘no religion is greater than another’ should NEVER be used by a pastor. Period. Yes - we must love one another, irrespective of race or religion. But to equate Christianity with other religions - as a pastor - is nothing short of compromise. Jesus is THE way, not A way. To me, this is just another of the countless examples that show Yemi Osinbajo has (sadly) diluted his faith for political purposes.

This comment is in no way a condemnation of the commendable act of Abdullahi Abubakar, which is a great example of LOVE beyond religion. Yemi Osinbajo’s comment, however, serves as further proof of why he remains so conspicuously silent in the face of clearcut Islamisation in certain parts of the country, or of the merciless slaughter of his Brethren by Fulani herdsmen. May God have mercy on our country!

Compare T.B. Joshua's reaction with the way some of these so called 'prophets' react when they give a prophecy! Many 'men of God' today seem to direct more attention and glory to themselves than to God.

What I love so much about TBJ is his humility and simplicity...

I agree 100% - “the most imitated man of God in Africa” yet equally “the most envied and hated by other clerics”.

Just watch Emmanuel TV and see for yourself. T.B. Joshua is a precious gem in our nation of Nigeria. But I fear we may only really appreciate his worth and value long after he has left Nigerian shores...
Politics / AirForce Plane 'Very Close' To Collapsed Synagogue Building – Aviation Expert by tinajohn: 5:02pm On Feb 01, 2019
An aviation expert, Dr Yakubu Dazhia, has told a Lagos High Court in Igbosere that an aircraft flew “very close” to a Synagogue Church of All Nations (SCOAN) building soon before it collapsed on September 12, 2014, killing 116 people.

Dazhia, who introduced himself as an aircraft engineer, aviation consultant and airline operator, said the plane had been identified as a Nigerian Air Force (NAF) Hercules C130 training aircraft.

He told Justice Lateef Lawal-Akapo that the plane was captured on Closed Circuit Television (CCTV) flying well below the 1000ft flight altitude recommended by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).

Dazhia spoke during continuation of trial of four defendants – two engineers and their firms – for the building collapse deaths. The defendants are: Oladele Ogundeji and Akinbela Fatiregun charged alongside their companies – Hardrock Construction and Engineering Company and Jandy Trust Ltd.

They are facing a 110-count charge of involuntary manslaughter said to contravene Section 222 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011.

At the resumed hearing of the matter on Friday 25th January 2019, Dazhia was led in evidence by Olalekan Ojo, counsel for the Registered Trustees of SCOAN.

The witness told the court that the ICAO recommended safe altitude for flight in a congested area such as Ikotun Egbe, where the collapsed SCOAN building was located, is 1,000ft.

“No aircraft, except for takeoff and landing, should fly over a congested area at a minimum of 1,000 feet or 300 metres between the aircraft and the highest obstacle in a congested area. Meaning that the distance between the aircraft and the tallest building in that area should not be less than 1,000ft,” he said.

Dazhia, an elders’ council member of Winners Chapel but who worshipped at SCOAN whenever he visited Lagos in the last 10 years, said he was in Abuja when the building collapsed but that he flew to Lagos and the next day (September 13), alongside a Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Aviation, and assisted in the operation to rescue people that were trapped.

“On the 14th, a Sunday, we were shown the CCTV footage (of the incident). The camera was at Gate 5 of SCOAN. The distance from Gate 5 to the building was less than 500 metres.”

The witness told the judge that the CCTV’s vertical view could “not go beyond 200 metres.”
“We discovered that that this aircraft flew very close to the building. If it was flying according to regulations, the CCTV wouldn’t have captured it.”

He said he and several church members, including six or seven pilots, were told the plane was an Air Force aircraft and it was for training.

“They mentioned that training with aircraft was to be only done in Ilorin, which has the longest runway in the federation. Why were they training in Lagos?” he wondered.

When Ojo asked for his observation about the incident, Dazhia posed a question for the pilot of the aircraft. He said: “As a professional, I insist that only the pilot knows why he was flying at a low altitude. That is all I have to say.”

But under cross examination by Deputy Directors of Public Prosecution (DPP), Dr. Babajide Martins, Dazhia agreed that although he had an engineering degree, his Ph.D “has nothing to do with aircraft engineering.”

He also noted that he was not an aircraft traffic controller, a bomb expert or accident investigator. Neither did he lodge any complaint about the incident to the Nigerian Civil Aviation Organisation (NCAO).

Following the conclusion of cross-examination, Justice Lawal-Akapo adjourned further proceedings till March.

Religion / Are Pastor’s Wives Automatically Anointed? by tinajohn: 7:55pm On Jan 23, 2019
Read this online... Well worth a look!!!

I have observed a strange trend in Christianity here in Nigeria – it appears the ‘anointing’ of a pastor is automatically transferred to his spouse upon marriage. Rarely do you see a church poster advertising a pastor’s service without his wife standing majestically by his side. Perhaps this explains why the wives of most ‘prophets’ assume the role of ‘prophetess’ in their respective churches.

Going beyond the issue of marriage, many Christian ministries tend to be run like a family business. The pastor’s brother or cousin often heads a church branch and his son is usually primed to take over the ministry. The question is – what role does the Holy Spirit play in the apportioning of such godly roles? In the Bible, Jesus’ 12 disciples were not his blood relations. The prerequisite for the Holy Spirit using you is your openness, willingness and availability – not your blood connection to someone else called by God.

My reason for this musing arose last week whilst watching Emmanuel TV, the television channel belonging to Prophet T.B. Joshua. I was impressed to see Joshua had ‘raised up’ three ministers – two males and one female – who were prophesying, healing and delivering people in The SCOAN. None are his direct relations and two are not even Nigerians!

Someone by the name of Chomba Chongo made this apt observation on Facebook, which actually sums up my musings on this issue: “What I love so much about Prophet T.B. Joshua’s way of ministry administration is that the man completely obeys what the Lord instructs him to do. He has not run to impart the anointing on his biological children, his wife or his very close relatives and friends, so that he can have a hereditary ministry empire – as is a trend by some ministers. Rather, he listens to the will of God. Little wonder then his is a team of supernatural men and women of God with maturity, humility and servitude to God.”

If God is really at the center of our ministries, we should question why key roles and responsibilities – especially in spiritual matters – tend to be assigned to direct relatives or close compatriots of the pastor. He who has ears to hear, let him hear…

Witness Insists Synagogue Church Complied With Lagos Building Development Rules

By Emmanuel Badejo -October 31, 2018

A lead witness in the ongoing trial involving The Synagogue Church of all Nation (SCOAN) and the Lagos State Government over the former’s collapsed building has said that what the church did was not against known practice of physical development in the state.

Mr. Adebisi Adedire, now chairman, Nigeria Institute of Town Planners (NITP), Lagos Chapter, who is also a consultant to Lagos state Government on physical planning matter, told the court that a builder can regularize its structure after building as the Law requires in Lagos State.

He made the statement last week at the resumed hearing of the suit instituted by the Lagos State Government against the church.

While he was being cross-examined by the lawyers from the Lagos State Ministry of Justice, the town planner explained all the various procedure to be followed before a building is erected in the State, and in all its explanation the Church has complied in respect of the building, which collapsed Four years ago.

According to Adebisi any builder in Lagos state must have a building permit including other documents like survey certificate, certificate of occupancy, as well as development proposal.

He told the court that planning permit process gave automatic directives to a builder to develop a site as required by Law in the State.

The witness enlightened the court that the processes are done in Lagos state planning office, which would be followed by paying assessment fee.

He explained further that pre-screening is one of the first processes to undergo before taking physical possession of a land.

Regularization according to him is a form of enforcement from the state government. In essence it is a means where what is built as illegal now became legal after going through the process of regularization.

He noted that many buildings in Lagos state were built without following the due process.

Backing his claim, he cited a state government’s advertorial publication in March 2018 in national dailies calling for owners of buildings in the State who are yet to regularize to come forward and do so within six months without payment of any fee.

During the proceeding, counsels to the Synagogue Church adopted copies of the said publication as a relevant material to be used in the case and after a counter move against admittance of the court, the court, however, ruled in the favour of the church and admitted the document, which was presented by the church’s counsel, Olamilekan Ojo (SAN).

The building, built within the Church premises collapsed in 2014 after an alleged strange aircraft flew over the building. The matter has been adjourned to 6th and 7th December 2018.

Religion / The Making Of Emmanuel TV, The World's Most Viewed Christian Youtube Channel by tinajohn: 11:43am On Oct 14, 2018
Africa: The making of Emmanuel TV, the world's most viewed Christian YouTube channel

Firstly, I’d like to thank Nigeria’s former President Olusegun Obasanjo. In 2004, he made a decision that has come to profoundly affect my life today. I would certainly have no reason whatsoever to even consider writing this, talk less discovering Nigeria’s rich potentials, if not for that action.

When he instructed Nigeria’s National Broadcasting Corporation to controversially ban the showing of miracles on local television channels, I’m sure he had no idea that it would place Nigeria enviably on the world map.

Twelve years on, ‘Emmanuel TV’ marks a striking milestone in the history of Nigerian broadcasting. It’s the 10th anniversary of a television station which boasts a reputation of being among the fastest growing and most viewed in the whole continent [albeit loved and loathed with perhaps equal ferocity].

I’m aware of the popularity of Nollywood films, and the following some Nigerian musicians have abroad – but this is on another level entirely, a scale that is perhaps immeasurable. Never before has content produced within Nigeria had a global impact in such an escalating manner. Trust me – I have done the research!

To give some context, let me provide some background data. I am an American working currently as a social media analyst in California, USA. My interest in and knowledge of Nigeria up to about one year ago was sparse, to say the least.

In USA, the picture painted of Nigeria generally involves some starving children in an archaic, beleaguered village, cutthroat Islamic militants chanting weird war-cries as they celebrate another merciless decapitation or the son of a ‘crown prince’ who has sent an email requesting ‘help’ to release the 100 ‘gazillion’ dollars his great-granddad has stored up in a dodgy Swiss bank account.

To put it bluntly, it’s grim. Certainly not a colourful picture.

It was, therefore, an unusual surprise to me when, in August last year [2013], I inadvertently stumbled across a video on YouTube showing a side of Nigeria I had NEVER seen. After watching a clip of the Supernatural TV series, a video with an alluring [and a little alarming!] thumbnail was ‘suggested’ to me showing an alleged ‘miracle’ of a blind lady in Mexico.

One nonchalant, cynical click later and I was watching a crusade with a whopping 100,000 in attendance led by guess who – a Nigerian Pastor. I internally grimaced. Theatrics and theology should not be combined.

Now, I must confess at this point that although I am a professing Christian, I have a firmly founded disdain for most American televangelists – Benny Hinn and his like. The persistent emphasis on money, the lack of authenticity when it comes to the alleged miraculous and the emotional manipulation at play toward the disadvantaged in most of such services has left me highly skeptical.

Initially, the thing that struck me with this particular YouTube clip was the overwhelming makeup of the crowd – perhaps 99% Caucasian. It is customary to see non-African preachers’ minister to vast African crowds – but very rare to see vice versa.

The ‘miracle’ that then happened seemed almost too good to be true. This bearded black pastor, simply clad in jeans and a shirt, basically tapped a woman on her head and she crumpled to the floor.

Jumping up, the expression on her face was priceless. Pure, unadulterated joy! Speaking some ecstatic form of Spanish, she began to testify that her severely diminished sight had just been restored. The crowd roared, as did my attention. Could this be real? With interest sufficiently kindled, one video led to another… and to another… and to another. My preconceived stereotypes slowly began to fade as YouTube offered more and more weird yet wonderful clips from this channel called ‘Emmanuel TV’.

No wonder it has more than 300,000 subscribers and views in excess of 200 million!

There was something uncannily different about the pastor. In fact, unorthodox is an understatement. The freedom with which he ministered, the simplicity with which he taught, the remarkable results that followed… Well, seven months later and I can categorically, unashamedly call myself an Emmanuel TV addict. Pastor T.B. Joshua is a Nigerian and I am not only proud to associate with him but I have profound admiration and respect for him.

He has been a significant source of ‘rebranding’ not just for his nation but for Pentecostal Christianity.

An array of factors has led me to this weighty conclusion but none so more than Pastor Joshua’s refreshingly unique approach to Christianity. For example, in the countless thousands of hours of footage I have viewed, I have not heard a SINGLE solicitation for money. Not one time. No bank details scrolling across the screens or funding campaigns with multiple preachers using their charisma to try and coerce cash under the premise of prosperity.

Contrarily, huge amounts are given to charitable projects which span continents and make tangible differences. Even in his huge Mexican crusade, I have it on reliable authority that not even an offering was taken by the pastor. That’s practically sacrilegious over here.

Churches here in USA usually comprises of some inspirational worship music, a motivational feel-good message and then, of course, a well-hyped offering to round up everything. One to two hours max. Sunday services shown live on Emmanuel TV, however, literally last the entire day. Yes, a whole day in church! Yet, they are so engaging and exciting, it feels almost timeless.

The messages are practical, the reconciliations poignant, the prophecies pinpoint, the prayers powerful and the testimonies profound. T.B. Joshua remarkably combines a deep spiritual authority with a down-to-earth approach that is both endearing and eye-opening. When he speaks, it feels as if the message is directed entirely towards you. When he prays, the impact hits you right in the comfort of your own home. That’s why I thank God for Obasanjo’s miracle ban which, according to Wikipedia, paved the way for Emmanuel TV’s arrival!

This is my first time of writing to an African news outlet. I don’t know if anyone will deem this worthy of publication but please let it be known to all willing to hear – Nigeria has an incredible brand ambassador in T.B. Joshua. Use him.

I join the millions around the world to celebrate Emmanuel TV as it hits a decade of existence! ‘Changing Lives, Changing Nations, Changing The World’ is more than just a motto; it’s a vision which I consider myself privileged to be a part of.

I find it strange to consider that this milestone may well be celebrated far more abroad than in Nigeria. Well, to coin one of T.B. Joshua’s catchphrases, “Distance is not a barrier”.

Interestingly, now in October 2018, a new record has now been set by Emmanuel TV. Of the top 10 Christian YouTube Channels worldwide, it emerged top with 982,411 subscribers and 381,700,000 viewers. https://www.youtube.com/user/scoanvideos.

Sid Roth’s “It’s Supernatural”, comes second having 589,191 subscribers and 104,685,000 viewers.

Equally, its sister station, Emmanuel TV Espanol (Spanish), occupies the third position with a total of 295,057 subscribers and 99,220,000 viewers. http://www.youtube.com/user/emmanueltvespanol.

In fourth position is 700 Club, with 165,421 subscribers and 80,420 viewers, followed closely by Benny Hinn, with 188,556 subscribers and 78,300,000 viewers.

Others are Pastor Joseph Prince – 335,495 subscribers and 70,445,000 views,

Pastor Joel Osteen is in the 7th position, having 552,132 subscribers and 64,600,000 views.

Next to Pastor Joel Osteen is, Pastor Cash Luna, who has 492, 962 subscribers and 69,150,000 views.

There is also The Way of The Master, which amassed 262,126 subscribers and 60,630,000 views.

On the 10th position is Pastor John Piper. He has a total of 291,702 subscribers and 50,000,000 views.

With this feat, SCOAN’s Emmanuel TV has indeed placed Nigeria on the highest pedestal of the social media patrons, with regards to changing lives using religion in Nigeria and world over.

If the Emmanuel TV YouTube social media channel could impact this much in the religious circle, it then goes to show that, inevitably, it’s helping to propagate and showcase Nigeria to the outside world; no wonder the role this has played in the tourism industry considering the influx of religious tourists to the country.

However, it is quite unfortunate that the station is being celebrated and recognized more from abroad than in Nigeria, which goes to corroborate the Bible injunction that, “A prophet is not recognized or known in his own country”.

Religion / T.B. Joshua Rebukes The Rich In Fiery Sermon by tinajohn: 8:54am On Sep 19, 2018

Pastor T.B. Joshua of The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) in Lagos, Nigeria has released another bombshell message, specifically challenging the wealthy and those in leadership positions in society.

“Don't let your wealth deceive you - you have not got there,”Joshua stressed to congregants at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) on Sunday 16thSeptember 2018. “Man's natural gifts cannot make one succeed. Success is all about the spirit, supernatural. If our leaders know this, superiority complex and all of these fights will cease - if they know they are not what they think they are. Vanity upon vanity.”

According to the cleric, spiritual prosperity must always take the priority. “Your spiritual life is the engine that will carry your success. If you are not prospering in your spiritual life and you are great, your greatness will be fading away gradually because there is nothing to carry it… You will realise the money will be spending you instead of you spending the money.”

Providing examples, Joshua questioned why people quickly change location when they experience financial prosperity. “The rich are living together and the poor are living together – who will help the poor? And you are blessed to bless others... Don’t let money control you; let the Giver of that money control you.”

He added that if one receives financial breakthrough after receiving prayers but then distances himself from God, his actions will come at the price of peace. “You can run away with riches and wealth but His peace of heart, you cannot run away with. God will be looking at you to see the money He has given you – how you spend it will determine the peace of God in your heart.”

The founder of Emmanuel TV added that a brief survey of society would reveal how a large majority of the ‘rich and wealth people’ lack peace. “How do you know they don’t have peace? The conflict among them will tell you these people don’t have peace. Peace does not want conflict. It is always fighting for peace, unity and love.”

The cleric counselled people to listen to their hearts. “What your heart is telling you now is what you are. People can see you as a poor man but your heart is telling you that you are great – indeed, you are great. While you rich – your heart can be telling you that you are the poorest in the world, upon all your cash. It means such money will not last. Whatever you cannot enjoy to the last is not of God.”

The cleric concluded that Christians must endeavour to prosper first in their spiritual lives and keep their hearts “busy” praising God.

“Sin is never covered by our appearance, by our presence, by our prayers or by our tears. Sin can only be removed by repentance,”he emphasised to the congregation.

The sermon, which was later uploaded onto Joshua’s official YouTube channel Emmanuel TV, is not the first message in which the cleric has spoken against the love of money.

He recently decried the amount of ‘dirty money’ being brought into Church, stressing that pastors should be concerned with the source of tithes and offerings.

Religion / Foreign Pastors Celebrate TB Joshua! by tinajohn: 10:13pm On Sep 08, 2018
The biblical adage, ‘a prophet is without honour in his hometown’ seems to be exemplified in the case of Prophet T.B. Joshua.

Social media is awash with tales of foreigners, especially clergymen, whose lives have been impacted by the ministry of Nigeria’s most persecuted pastor.

Today I honour my mentor and father in the Lord, Prophet TB Joshua,”wrote Andries Steyn, a veteran South African revivalist, on Facebook. “The footprints he laid in my life, the wisdom he engraved in my heart and spirit can never be washed away – they’re too deep,”the leader of ‘World Revival Crusades’ continued, particularly emphasising on Joshua’s humble manner.

“We’re blessed to have this general in our generation. Never will he exalt himself or seek attention. The anointing on him speaks for itself,” Steyn wrote.

Further afield in Papua New Guinea, an island close to Australia, a leader of the Apostolic Church, Pastor Mamando Pain, testified to how Joshua’s sermons helped settle a leadership tussle that almost resulted in a lawsuit.

When the pastor heard Joshua preach that “position without peace is not position at all,” he decided to drop the case he had instituted against the church’s leader over his non-appearance for several months.

“As I continue to watch Emmanuel TV via YouTube and listen to Prophet TB Joshua, my life has changed. I am healed, released and delivered from all my unforgiveness, bitterness, hatred and fighting for position,”he explained.

“Today, the gospel is full of nice words but lacks power,”Mamando wrote on Facebook. “We command the sick to be healed in Jesus’ name but our words do not produce result because our hearts doubt what our months confess… Prophet T.B. Joshua’s words and prayers are coming with power and they are literally changing lives all over the world,” he testified.

Foreign Affairs / Kenyan Politician Confesses To Spending $500,000 On Witchcraft To Win Elections! by tinajohn: 8:29am On Sep 08, 2018
A YouTube video showing the chilling confession of a Kenyan politician who sought “witchcraft” and “black magic” to achieve his political aims has attracted over 100,000 views.

Lawrence Kilabo, who was the Sokoni Ward Member of the County Assembly from 2013 to 2017, exposed diabolical details of his quest for political power in the clip uploaded to popular Nigerian channel ‘Emmanuel TV’.

The politician revealed that he squandered KSh 50 million (approx. $500,000) on Tanzanian witchdoctors in his pursuit to win the parliamentary seat in Kilifi North, although his ambitions were thwarted as he lost the election.

Kilabo further revealed that he used witchcraft to lure women to bed, admitting that he would sleep with over 10 women daily when he worked as a tour guide before entering politics.

“I have over 20 children with more than 10 different women,”he stated during his confession at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN), where Kilabo sought ‘deliverance’ from his demonic entanglements.

“The wicked seem to prosper now and live without a care but they will spend eternity in terror and despair,” the clip’s description quotes Pastor T.B. Joshua as saying, in response to Kilabo’s sordid revelations.

Kenyan’s commented in their droves on the video, most condemning the East African nation’s political elite for their alleged involvement in witchcraft.

“Really, the Kenyan government needs to run to God because most of them use the power of darkness to win elections,” opined Margy Nyarks.

T.B. Joshua’s church is known for attracting prominent members of Africa’s political elite and is regarded as the most popular religious tourist destination in West Africa.

You will still come to the table to talk reconciliation between you and the North. There is no fight between South and North. Whatever threat now, they will still come together and discuss. They will not fight but there will be threat, threat, threat There will be gunshot threat but you will still discuss. There will be reconciliation. I am seeing reconciliation coming. Religion / TB Joshua Spends N1m To Transform ‘female’ To ‘male’ by tinajohn: 8:31pm On Jan 16, 2018

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aeX2966Im6g

A video showing the alleged ‘transformation’ of a renowned ‘transvestite’ is currently trending after it was uploaded onto Emmanuel TV, the channel of famous Nigerian ‘Prophet’ T.B. Joshua.

“This is the real-life testimony of Mario Aníbal Giménez Ruiz, a Paraguayan who was born a man but lived almost his entire life as a woman,” reads the YouTube description of the controversial video.

According to Mario, at the tender age of 15, he underwent surgery, implanting silicon breasts to facilitate his urge for femininity.

“I was never attracted to women but rather to young men,” Mario explained, adding that he even legally married a man in Argentina and took female hormones to compliment the gender-reassigning operation.

However, despite his flashy lifestyle, “I really wanted to change from deep within me,” the Paraguayan admitted in the clip.

Thus, when Joshua visited the South American nation of Paraguay to hold a Crusade, the transvestite decided to attend and receive prayer.

“When Prophet T.B. Joshua touched me, I lost consciousness,” Mario recounted. “When I regained consciousness, I felt like another person – I felt like a man.”

That moment marked the beginning of a dramatic change. After realising the ‘affection’ he once had for males disappeared, he began feeling “ridiculous” upon seeing “so many female clothes and shoes in my closet.”

To complete the transformation, Joshua sponsored a life-changing surgery to remove Mario’s silicon breast implants, providing over $3,000 (N1m) in the process.

Mario looked every bit a man as he shared his remarkable testimony before a crowd of over 50,000 at a subsequent crusade Joshua held in Dominican Republic in November 2017.

“God hates sin, not sinners. Therefore, we should hate the act, not the people because our battle is not against flesh and blood but against the ‘spirit beings’ that cause all these acts,” the cleric advised at the tail-end of the clip, which has been viewed more than 400,000 times on Facebook.

Politics / TB Joshua Reveals Cause Of World Poverty by tinajohn: 8:41pm On Dec 23, 2017
Nigerian Prophet T.B. Joshua has given a thought-provoking Christmas message on the cause of poverty, citing the absence of compassion and love, not money or resources, as the major factor behind world lack.

“The beauty of life does not depend on how happy you are but on how happy others can be because of you,” Joshua began in a somber statement he released to Facebook.

Using the Scriptural reference of 1 Corinthians 13:13, he further explained, “The manner you love your neighbour determines the measure of your relationship with God.”

The cleric explained that even those who are materially wealthy are often filled with complaints because they are keeping their wealth, rather than sharing it with others.

“You are rich but you are still complaining – as if you have nothing… You have money yet unanswered questions in your life. You are a president but anytime you are in private, you cry for what you do not have.”

In his words, the solution can only lie in reaching out to ‘find’ those who you can help.

“Possessions do not bless when we keep them. Money does not bless when we keep them in the safe but giving them to help the poor, needy, refugees and others, can. We use money to get what we need but when we keep it, it becomes dormant as if we do not have,” Joshua wrote.

Speaking bluntly, the cleric – who is known for his extensive humanitarian gestures – pinpointed that “the cause of poverty and hardship is because we have not been giving to help others. We keep our possessions and save our money. We say there is not money but money is everywhere. The cause of poverty is because our money is not being circulated.”

Concluding, Joshua called on people to ‘build’ their lives around the principles of love and charity in order to effectively deal with poverty.

“You are blessed to bless others but you are blessed and not blessing others – that is the cause of poverty. Therefore, build your life around your contribution to others, for that is the beauty of life,” he said.

The cleric’s message was reiterated during the activities of the annual Christmas Carol Service held at The Synagogue, Church Of All Nations (SCOAN) on Friday 22nd December 2017 and broadcast via Joshua’s channel Emmanuel TV.
