Guys, what is your opinion? Do you think the current naira scarcity will result to vote buying and low voters turnout? |
Praxis758:Did you read the main body of what they wrote? |
Mods, close down this thread. It is different from what CNN wrote. |
TGM2015:They are sharing campaign t shirts and caps. |
Malory:How? It is a legitimate demand. In any election the public is required to know the number of voters with card to vote( cards actually collected and not ones still in INEC offices.). It will also help your own candidate. So let us not criticise everything not because it came from somebody we hate. |
obailala:So you mean Tinubu will not get any votes from Benue, Plateau and Abuja after winning Niger, Kogi, Kwara and possible Nasarawa . He will get zero votes from Benue, Plateau and Abuja? Kindergarten |
kay1one:Forget the English. |
SLAP44:From where did they get the money to share? |
NwaliE01:Reversing the policy will be his first duty as president if he wins |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pt9MXXLaR8&si=EnSIkaIECMiOmarE This happened today as he was doing a GT bank and people there to withdraw their money started to hail him. At the ATM Queues, the sight of RENEWED HOPE excites the PEOPLE saying "WE TRUST IN YOU ASIWAJU".......

ThatFairGuy1:Don't mind the ladipo spare parts dealer |
PrinceOfLagos:The heading is clear. Read the body of the article and see what Amosun said |
PrinceOfLagos:Read the article itself amd here from Amosun. Below is part of the article I posted if you cannot read: According to Amosun, he and his followers would work for the emergence of Tinubu as the next president of Nigeria come February 25. However, Amosun insisted that he would support Otegbeye for governor to ensure an Ogun West indigene becomes the governor of the Gateway State for the first time. This, he said, is to ensure equity, fairness and justice across the three senatorial districts |
post=121088811:ADC is fragmented. State branches are endorsing different candidates. The chairman is useless and don't even know his polling booth. Their candidates are endorsing different candidates of their choice. |
PrinceOfLagos:You have no shame. Amosun that stepped down for Tinubu in the party primary. Amosun that is a member of PCC campaign council. You really is shameless. You keep disgracing yourself in nairaland up and down with your blind views on issues. |
My only reason of posting this here is because of Obidients counting ADC agents as part of Labour party's agents. A politically naive people. |
The Lagos State chapter of African Democratic Congress (ADC) has endorsed the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and the Atiku-Okowa Presidential Ticket for the upcoming February 25 election. Similarly, the party endorsed the State’s PDP governorship candidate, Dr Abdul Azeez Adediran, aka Jandor. The endorsement was made public during an event in Lagos in which the PDP Vice-Presidential Candidate, Governor Ifeanyi Okowa, was in attendance. Okowa, according to a statement welcomed the ADC members and accepted their commitment to – wholeheartedly work towards securing victory for the PDP in the Presidential election. “With just a few days to go until #NigeriaDecides, the PDP continues to forge a stronger coalition across the nation to bolster the party’s impending victory at the polls on Saturday. “Governor Okowa continues to work on behalf of his principal, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, to ensure that the party is stronger and well-positioned going into Saturday” the statement said. https://theeagleonline.com.ng/2023-lagos-adc-endorses-atikuokowa-jandor-tickets/ |
They will also hand over their agents to Obi. Obidients are politically naive. |
Governorship candidate of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Ogun State, Biyi Otegbeye, has flagged off his campaign ahead the 2023 elections. Otegbeye’s campaign is coming barely a week after the Ibadan Appeal Court reinstated him and others as the authentic candidates of the ADC for the coming elections in Ogun. The event, which was attended by the former Ogun State Governor, Senator Ibikunle Amosun, held at the Ake Palace Square in Abeokuta on Wednesday. While addressing hordes of his supporters at the campaign ground, Otegbeye said his mission is to “create opportunities for all classes of people and restore the glory of the Gateway State.” He identified his overarching desire as being able to achieve a subnational double-digits GDP growth within 24 months “in order to put us on the path of sustained growth; and make Ogun State an emerging economic hub in the West African sub-region.” The legal practitioner promised to create sustainable and accelerated economic growth by harnessing the potentials of the state in agriculture, commerce, industry, tourism, and SMEs development, so as to make Ogun truly attractive to investors via genuine ease of doing business. “We recognize that for development to be rapid, our civil servants need to be properly treated, trained and catered for. Through our plan for Optimized Public Services, Good Governance and Leadership, we hope to make priority, the welfare of our workforce and improve their productivity,” he said. He added that: “We will ensure the security of lives and properties, our rural development strategy will pursue rapid electricity and water development programme to ensure that no community in Ogun State is without access to light and drinkable water.” Meanwhile, the ADC in Ogun State has endorsed the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Bola Tinubu, as its presidential candidate [Amosun disclosed this while speaking at the campaign rally. According to Amosun, he and his followers would work for the emergence of Tinubu as the next president of Nigeria come February 25. However, Amosun insisted that he would support Otegbeye for governor to ensure an Ogun West indigene becomes the governor of the Gateway State for the first time. This, he said, is to ensure equity, fairness and justice across the three senatorial districts in Ogun. https://dailypost.ng/2023/02/01/ogun-2023-adcs-otegbeye-flags-off-campaign-adopts-tinubu-for-president/ |
Where is DSS? They should go and arrest this man. He is inciting violence. |
I thought the south east would have resisted Ekpa by ignoring today's sit at home. Not ready to vote on 25th Feb. |
One of the APC ward chairmen confirmed that they were paid N2 million each and that their resignation letters had been prepared for submission in the next few days before the general elections. Less than six days before the February 25, 2023 general elections, some ward chairmen of the Delta state All Progressives Congress (APC) are said to have collected N2 million each to defect to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), SaharaReporters has learnt. The N2 million each was allegedly paid by the state governor and PDP vice presidential candidate, Ifeanyi Okowa to woo the APC ward chairmen across the 25 local government councils to join the PDP. It was however gathered that the resignations, which is being done in secret, was as a result of the alleged high-handedness, greed and inability of the state APC governorship candidate and deputy senate president, Ovie Omo-Agege to see to the welfare of his party men who have been complaining about alleged neglect since inception of office. Speaking to SaharaReporters on condition of anonymity, one of the APC ward chairmen confirmed that they were paid N2 million each and that their resignation letters had been prepared for submission in the next few days before the general elections. "Please I don't want my name to be mentioned but truth be told, we are over 250 APC ward chairmen across the 25 local government councils in the state who have prepared their resignation letters to dump the APC and join the PDP. “We have met with the state government and concluded all necessary arrangements to join the PDP but we agreed not to make noise about it. And we are collecting N2 million each from the state government. “This is a deal that is already sealed and delivered. Since we were handpicked into the position by the APC governorship candidate and the deputy senate president, Ovie Omo-Agege, we have not seen or received any good from him monetary wise. "Since our secret meeting with the state government leaked, Omo-Agege and leadership of our party in the state have been running up and down to see how to stop our move from the party to PDP. “We have been bought over by the Delta state PDP. Which of the APC ward chairmen can boast of N2 million since he was selected to occupy the position, none has ever benefited anything. Omo-Agege is running the state APC as a sole administrator and we are tired of such slavery. Go and ask Nick Ovuakporie, the state APC secretary why he left the party last month to join the PDP.? You will see he left the party for the same reasons we are leaving. Omo-Agege is a dictator and has pocked the party. We are moving to PDP with our N2 million, just watch out." An official of the state APC who also spoke on condition of anonymity confirmed the story but stated that all was already been done by the party's leadership, the governorship candidate and deputy senate president, Ovie Omo-Agege to halt the defection of the ward chairmen to the PDP. "Please this is not official response because I was not directed to speak for the party. Though the story is true, over 200 of our ward chairmen met with the Delta state government and reached a compromise of N2 million each to the ward chairmen to tender their resignation and join the PDP and we heard the deal is sealed but in secrecy it will be carried out. But I thank God, our party got wind of the whole thing and we appealing that they don't dump the party for PDP. Though their reasons for quitting is very germane. "Please reach out to the state party's publicity secretary, Mr. Valentine, to speak on the issue. But please I don't want to be quoted in any way okay. Just recently, we lost our secretary, Nick Ovuakporie to the PDP and just over the weekend, he got his PDP membership card from the party’s chairman, Joel Orute in Oyede Ward 12, Isoko North Local Government Area of the state. Nick was also co-secretary of APC campaign council," the source stated. Also reacting to the story, an APC House of Assembly candidate in Delta North, said, "The story is true. But the party has already intervened and I am afraid if the ward chairmen can be stopped, especially with the involvement of N2 million each. However, let's see how it goes. The deputy senate president and the governorship candidate, Ovie Omo-Agege is not trying at all. The era of dictatorship is gone, let him put the interest of all at heart not acting as a sole administrator." When contacted, the state publicity secretary of the APC, Valentine Onojeghuo, denied the report saying, "It was just a mere allegation that has no bases. APC is one and working for one purpose to delivery it's governorship candidate and deputy senate president, Ovie Omo-Agege and all other candidates of the party at the general elections. “None of our ward chairmen have resigned to join the PDP, rather, it's the PDP that people have been decamping from to our party, the APC. Please the story is not true." https://saharareporters.com/2023/02/20/exclusive-delta-apc-ward-chairmen-paid-n2million-each-resign-join-opposition-pdp |

The… By Maryam Ahmadu-Suka, Kaduna Mon, 20 Feb 2023 11:31:28 WAT The Arewa Consultative Forum (ACF) has counseled Nigerians on the need to accept the principle of power rotation between the north and the south. The ACF Secretary General, Murtala Aliyu, in a statement issued in Kaduna, said it is the only way in ensuring that Nigeria citizens choose whatever he or she believes to be in the best interests of themselves and their followers. He recalled, “When 17 State Governors from Southern part of Nigeria, and from different political parties met last year and demanded that a southerner must be elected as the president of Nigeria, the heavens did not fall. It was accepted that as we are in a democracy, they were entitled to their views and opinions. “Quite recently also, some 14 northern Governors belonging to the ruling All progressives Congress Party, (APC), came out with the announcement that they had committed themselves to ensuring that a candidate of their party from the southern part of the country is elected president of the country. Their reason was that the emergence and subsequent election of a person from the southern part of the country will serve to entrench the principle of North/South power rotation. “Though the principle of power rotation is still largely and somewhat controversial, nonetheless, under our democratic dispensation we must reconcile ourselves to accepting that Nigeria is a country for all its citizens, and each citizen has right to choose whatever he or she believes to be in the best interests of themselves and their followers. At the same time, however, they also have to accept the principle of power rotation between north and south.” While praying for a peaceful outcome of the elections, he hoped it will help take the country closer to its main development goals of building a free, just, democratic, and egalitarian society saying, “Clearly, the necessary requirement for achieving success in the elections is the determination of Nigerians to ensure it actually succeeds.” He called on the federal government to commit itself to delivering what should turn out to be a fair, transparent, credible and hitch-free election the outcomes of which must be decided only by the votes cast. “Voters will do great disservice to themselves if they were to vote into offices persons they know, or should know, have no capacity to perform well, or are persons with questionable character. Voters are also always advised to shun those unhealthy schemes whereby a president or state governor handpicks a successor. Nothing promotes entrenched corruption, cronyism and poor leadership more than such schemes as such dubious arrangements. “The nation will never be able to identify and select good leaders among its people so long as some dubious people are allowed to manipulate the selection of candidates and the ultimate election processes, we must cast our nets far beyond our ethnic, religious or geographical interests. A leader does not have to come from our tribe, zone, region or religious persuasion. We should seek for leaders that best cater for our national interests, and who are elected within the tenets of democratic processes. The tenants that allow people to choose leaders who will best cater for interests of the generality of the people, NOT their individual personal or the interests of their ethnic or religious https://dailytrust.com/2023-accept-power-rotation-between-north-south-acf-counsels-nigerians/ |
