In o kun o Ekiti Kete.
It has become expedient that I
address you today on account
of dire happenings in the land
of honour, Ekiti State. With
tension mounting across the
state, Ekiti has been the subject
of alarming headlines in the
news, following the tragic
assault on the judiciary.
On Monday, September 22,
thugs acting on the incitement
of an interested party, were
involved in the sacrilegious
sacking of the court while
hearing on a political case was
in progress. This happened in
full glare of the law
enforcement agents with
inappropriate response. Clearly,
these brigands exceeded the
limits of acceptable behavior,
even in the most liberal of
democracies, and ventured into
the realm of blatant criminality
with this desecration of the
hallowed chambers of the law.
The fact that this assault did not
meet with any strong deterring
repercussions from the
appropriate authorities further
emboldened the miscreants.
They subsequently attempted to
prevent the Ekiti State
Governorship Election Petition
Tribunal from sitting, yesterday,
Thursday, September 25. I am
advised incontrovertibly that
thugs acting on the command
of Mr. Ayo Fayose, who was also
present to lend his clout to the
travesty, brazenly assaulted a
senior judge and urged his
thugs to beat him up and tear
his clothes.
The court premises was thrown
into confusion and those
present scurried away in search
of safety and security. This was
on the back of his specious
allegation that the judiciary in
the state is compromised and
biased against him. And the
answer to that was to resort to
jungle justice and take the laws
into his hands. This has led to
the closure of the courts
indefinitely due to the inability
of the security agencies to
guarantee the safety of lives
and property in our temples of
justice. With the entrenched
atmosphere of impunity,
violence in the state has
escalated with the unfortunate
loss of one life and the willful
damage to several properties to
arson by rampaging thugs.
Since the beginning of this
development on Monday, which
is unprecedented in the recent
history of our state, I have been
in touch with the Heads of all
Security Agencies at the State
and Federal levels, urging them
to act quickly and firmly in the
interest of public law and order.
It is worrisome that the slow
and inadequate response has
occasioned the avoidable
escalation of violence in our
dear state.
Against this backdrop, it is
understandable that not a few
stakeholders have expressed
concern about what the
development portends for our
dear state. The brazen
contempt of our hallowed law
courts and the use of violence
and intimidation to obstruct the
course of justice is a clear
invitation to anarchy of the
scale and texture that
characterized Ekiti State some
years ago. Ekiti Kete, are those
years upon us again?
Already, there is widespread
anxiety about this development
coming at a time the state is
going through the transitioning
out of one administration and
the ushering in of a new one.
This is a very delicate period
that all stakeholders must work
together to ensure Ekiti State
comes out stronger for it.
During periods of transition,
vital partners in progress adopt
a cautious posture, watching for
the slightest portents of the
possible discontinuity of the
regime of peace and tranquility,
amongst other factors that have
made our state conducive for
investors and development
partners. We must not disrupt
our very bright prospects for
sustained development in our
state.
Considering the cases that have
triggered the recent spate of
violence are politically related,
the political elite in our state
from all disparate quarters
must exercise caution. We must
rescue our state from the
precarious slippery slope that
some have desperately pushed
us to. We should not imperil the
very people we seek to serve by
resorting to violence and
brigandage. One does not burn
down his homestead to
establish his claim of ownership
or leadership.
Most assuredly, the course of
Justice can only be delayed, but
can never be truncated. The
independence of the Judiciary is
an inviolable tenet of any
democracy. Accordingly, I have
this morning directed the
Attorney General of the state to
issue a legal advisory to the
Chief Judge of the state and all
the parties to the existing cases
in the State High Court and the
Ekiti State Governorship
Elections Petitions Tribunal, on
the desirability of seeking an
alternative venue for the
hearing of these cases outside
Ekiti State. The State can no
longer afford to witness the
bizarre spectacle of the beating
up of judicial officers and
wanton intimidation of lawyers
and court personnel.
Now that the security agencies
appear to be fully seized of the
situation, I call on them not to
relent in performing their
constitutional role of protecting
lives and property in our state.
Administrations come and go;
politics can be frenetic when the
stakes are high; but by the
grace of the Almighty God, our
state remains for all time,
therefore THE PEACE OF OUR
LAND IS NOT NEGOTIABLE.
Ekiti Kete, consistent with our
history of unity and love, let us
work together to make our state
a garden of concord where our
children and their children will
dwell in peace and safety. Even
in the pursuit of politics and
justice, let us conduct ourselves
as kinsmen, bound by a shared
love for Ekitiland but differing
only in the choice of
instruments by which to
accomplish the same goal.
Let us then temper our
competitive zeal with civility and
empathy. Let us deal truthfully
with our youth, who are so
liable to be led astray by
unbridled political fervour, by
seeing them as our children
rather than as conscripts or
fodder for our objectives.
Ekiti Kete, in order to forestall
further descent into anarchy in
our state, I am taking the very
difficult decision to suspend the
‘Thank You’ tour which I’m
undertaking as part of our
transitioning-out formalities.
Also, I have taken the decision
to institute a dusk to dawn
curfew in the state immediately.
Accordingly, there would be no
movement between the hours
of 7.00 p.m. and 7.00 a.m.
everyday till further notice. We
urge the citizenry to be vigilant
and provide the security
agencies with details of
suspicious activities that can
undermine the peace in our
state.
Let us work together to stop the
violence and brigandage that
has brought about serious
embarrassment to our state in
the last few days.
Let Peace Reign in the land of
honour, Ekiti State.

Many of you heard that my sister, her
maid and son brutally assaulted me on
Wednesday September 17th 2014 while
my mother cheered them on. Many of
you however don't know me, never met
me or know my family but yet you can
judge me by what I write on social
media, pick the ones u want to digest and
rain curses on me. What you don't know
is that my family is not the family u hear
about in the news. You only hear about
my father. There are 15 public figures
and a family divided into two. There are
children who do not speak to my mother
and those who do not associate with my
father. Your family also has their own
issues that u hide to save your face
instead of tackling.
My sister Funke Olunloyo has a long 40
year history of violence. Shocking to me
when reading your comments cheering
her violence forgeting that she is a
government official. This week members
of my family went speechless when I
exposed this history of attacking me as a
kid and getting her finger amputated.
Her violently beating her ex husband
Muyiwa Omitiwoju for years in front of
her children which is no surprise why
her son and my teen nephew joined her
in choking me, smashing and kicking my
head to a swollen skull and hearing loss.
The ISI student is the ridicule of Ibadan
now online and will have a difficult year
ahead in school as he is now extremely
depressed. To think that my sister is a
Special Adviser to the Governor on
Education and cannot even educate her
own sickens me. Also police kicking her
out of my home in America and her
stabbing my hand in 2012 when this
same kid stole my Blackberry phone in
the house and erased the memory card
then hiding the phone at his fathers
house where he spends weekends. The
Omitowoju boys are thieves in the
making. Along with her other son Anjola
Omitowoju, they backed up my stolen
files in their fathers computer. Their
mother never blamed them one time. It
was their father who wrote me asking to
compensate me since I had to pay
networks to get my media archives when
he suddenly discovered the files hidden
in his own files. Funke was also held at
gunpoint outside Radio Nigeria when she
finished her cult grail show. She belongs
to this faith of darkness and has charms
and shrines in her room and all over this
compound. September 8th her housegirl
planted a snake under my car then
turned off all the external lights as I
arrived that night. Their life is an evil
spiritual realm but the last thing they
expected was for me to expose them. I
destroyed so many Ebo plates of charm
all over our compound. The housegirl of
9 years planted things we ate all over.
My son no longer lives here. Evil lurks
all over here.
What did I do? Fought the Oyo state
government with 25 tweets @hnnafrica
demanding my community start getting
water in storex tanks, fix the eroding
street that swallows a car and bus filled
with passengers in the stream. Went on
StarFM and MITV to discuss this road,
ripped Ministry of works for cutting
trees recklessly into a NEPA pole
unleashing 60,000volts of live wires
near an elementary school. I was the one
that got Ojo Ikolaba area electricity back
and also regular supply 24/7 after
advocating at Ibadan Electric the new
privatized company. I was the one who
got Oyo state water corporation to dig a
tunnel from my gate to the government
house via Asejire dam's connection to
Iwo rd water reserves so that when they
pump water in the borehole at the
government house, everyone gets water
in their tanks the same time.
To the Minister of works who called my
dad to tell him that his daughter was
directing traffic on the live wire day, Hon
Adelabu who went on StarFM to lie
saying that everyone in Oyo state should
be getting water OUT OF THEIR TAPS
and to Governor Ajimobi who is too
busy protecting my sister from death
threats and has not called me to check on
my health, am I surprised? He has not
even called me from November 2013
when his bus dragged my son. They
covered it all up because my sister was
getting sworn in for a job with him.

The PDP and the APC are not even yin and
yang. They are Siamese twins. They are
children of the same ugly mother.
If you have not noticed it already, a new
season has dawned in Nigerian politics.
That season is one of carpet-crossing back
to the PDP. About a year ago, there was a
rash of defections from the PDP to the
APC. Nearly 40 legislators left the ruling
party for the opposition. Five PDP
governors also followed suit. But now the
movement is a one-way trajectory in the
opposite direction. APC members are
having buyers’ remorse and are making
their way back as prodigal sons to the
PDP.
There are two basic reasons behind this.
One year ago, the APC was the new party
on the block. A simplistic political
calculus led some to the hasty conclusion
we finally have the party that would
dislodge the PDP after 15 years of one-
party rule in Nigeria. So some people
quickly joined the APC bandwagon. But
the more cynical reason was that the
defections were designed to discourage
Goodluck Jonathan from seeking re-
election as president. The vain hope and
expectation was that Jonathan would see
the colossus ranged against him and throw
in the towel.
New realpolitik
One year is a lifetime in politics and these
prognoses have become bankrupt. A new
harsh reality has set in. The APC is now a
shadow of its hype. Since the initial
excitement, it lost Ekiti by a landslide and
scraped through in Osun; two states
presumed to be APC strongholds. In spite
of considerable arm-twisting, including
the nuisance value of APC Trojan horse
Sule Lamido’s candidacy, Goodluck
Jonathan is going to run on the PDP’s
2015 presidential ticket.
Short of the shenanigans of Attahiru Jega
and his fictitious 30,000 new polling
units, the APC does not stand a chance of
defeating the PDP in the coming
presidential election. The combination of
these two realities is provoking a no-
holds-barred migration back to the PDP.
As a matter of fact, once Jonathan finally
declares his candidacy and is endorsed by
the PDP, there will be a mass exodus from
the APC to the PDP. Even before then,
those who lose out in the APC choice of its
presidential candidate will not waste time
before making their way to the PDP. The
movement will be massive all in one
direction because in Nigerian politics the
winner takes all. The one thing politicians
are very good at is in reading the signs of
the times.
Timber and caliber
What has happened over the last few
months is that a procession of APC who-
is-who has defected to the PDP. This
includes Attahiru Bafawara, Brigadier-
General Buba Marwa (rtd.), Ibrahim
Shekarau, Femi Fani-Kayode, Ali Modu
Sherriff, Jimi Agbaje, Nuhu Ribadu and
Tom Ikimi. These people have read the
writing on the wall and have discovered
that, by hook or crook, the PDP is not
going to lose the coming presidential
election. Don’t be surprised if by next
year, even Atiku applies to be re-admitted
to the PDP, after he would have been shut
out of the APC.
There were a lot of raised eyebrows at
Nuhu Ribadu’s defection to the PDP. But
what exactly was he supposed to do?
There is no future in the APC for him.
Ribadu served for eight years under the
“hateful” PDP. As EFCC Chairman, he
indicted Tinubu of corruption and called
him a looter of public funds “of
international dimension.” But then he
ended up in Tinubu’s ACN where he was
even comically paraded as the party’s 2011
presidential candidate; only to be traded
off shamefully in a despicable act of
political treachery.
Clearly, Ribadu cannot be APC’s
presidential or vice-presidential
candidate. Neither can the APC make him
governor of Adamawa State. Since he
recognizes that the APC is headed for
defeat in 2015, that means the offer of a
ministerial position in Abuja is out of the
question. Neither can the APC make him
the Nigerian High Commissioner to the
Court of St. James as a consolation prize.
However, the PDP can offer him all but
one of these juicy posts. So what would be
the point of staying in the APC? None
whatsoever! This kind of cold hard
calculus will become increasingly evident
to other APC politicians; the closer we get
to the 2015 election. Just you wait; they
will soon be jumping ship to the PDP in
droves.
One-party rule
There is still only one political party in
Nigeria at the federal level and that one
party is the party in power. What is the
difference between the PDP and the APC?
Only one; PDP is in power at the centre:
APC is not. Besides that, there is no
difference whatsoever! They are not even
yin and yang. They are Siamese twins.
They are children of the same ugly
mother. They are Jekyll and Hyde. They
are two peas in a pod.
When the APC first emerged, some were
excited that we would finally have a two-
party system. No such luck! For the
longest time, Nigeria will remain a one-
party state. When you truly have a two-
party system, you have two parties with
different world-views. They have two
contrasting and competing ideologies. Not
so in Nigeria. Like people, like priest! The
people are uneducated and so are the
polithiefcians. They have no ideology, no
policies and no vision. It is all about
getting into power to get a piece of the
national cake.
The APC touts Buhari as an anti-
corruption icon. It says PDP is a party of
thieves and robbers. But when did you
hear the APC require those PDP
governors and legislators it welcomed
into its ranks to account for the money
they stole while in the PDP? Never! It
relies on them to bring the money.
Murtala Nyako was impeached for
corruption. Did anybody hear APC
members say anything against his corrupt
practices?
Boko Haram politicians
Suddenly, the APC is making a lot of song
and dance about PDP’s Bunu Sheriff being
labeled by Stephen Davis as a sponsor of
the Boko Haram. But the same Bunu
Sheriff was in APC for over a year until
recently. Even as APC member, he was
fingered as a possible Boko Harram
sponsor, and the party took no action
against him. Bunu Sheriff was not kicked
out of the APC: he resigned.
At a meeting in the British parliament,
chaired by John Glen, a close adviser to
Prime Minister David Cameron,
allegations were raised that key members
of the APC in Nigeria are supporters and
financiers of Boko Haram “for ideological
and political means.” Early this year,
British MP Andrew Rosindell questioned
Foreign Secretary William Hague in
parliament specifically on the question of
the United Kingdom’s engagement with
the APC over the Boko Haram insurgency
in Nigeria.
No ideologies
Nigerian political parties are much of a
muchness. If you did not know this, the
rash of defections to and fro is eloquent
testimony. That is why Obasanjo can be
the so-called Baba of the PDP yesterday,
and today be invited by a high-powered
delegation to become the Navigator of the
APC. Kwankwaso can be elected governor
of Kano on the platform of the PDP in
2011. But midstream in his tenure in 2013,
he switches to the APC without any
change in policy or ideology.
How many prominent members of the
Labour Party in Britain have we ever
heard defecting to the Conservatives?
How many prominent members of the
Democratic Party in the United States do
we ever hear crossing the carpet suddenly
to the Republican Party? Virtually none!
The reason is that those parties stand for
something and their members believe in
what they stand for. However, Nigerian
political parties stand for nothing. They
believe in nothing. All they seek is to
feather their nests while in office.
The PDP makes few principled
pretensions. It is a party of thieves and
robbers. It is a party of “come and chop!”
That actually makes it endearing in a way.
What you see is what you get. But lately, it
has been trying to reform itself. There is
now more internal democracy in the PDP,
making for fewer spats.
The APC, on the other hand is a party of
dissemblers. It calls itself a progressive
party. But how do you have a progressive
party that makes a point of collecting the
“non-progressives” rejects of the PDP?
How do you have a progressive party led
by certificate forgers and insatiable land-
grabbers with dubious unexplained
wealth?
Political prostitutes
Nigeria political parties are Twedledee
and Twedledum. They may go by the
acronym ECN, or NEPA or PHCN; but the
one constant is lack of electricity. As for
Nigerian politicians, they are nothing but
high-class prostitutes. The principled and
upright ones, like Senator Udo Udoma of
Akwa Ibom, are few and far between.
Neither do they survive for long in
politics. After eight years, Senator Udoma
voluntarily called it quits. “The beautiful
ones are not yet born.”
But take, for example, the current
Governor of Imo State. He must hold
some kind of Nigerian record for carpet-
crossing. Okorocha was in PDP before he
was not. In 1999, he contested for
governor of Imo under the PDP. In 2003,
he ran for the ANPP presidential ticket.
When that came to grief, he returned to
the PDP as President Obasanjo’s Special
Adviser on Inter-Party Affairs. In 2005,
he was a founding-member of the Action
Alliance. By 2007, he was back in the PDP.
In 2010, he defected to APGA and ran for
governor of Imo State. Having become
governor, he decamped to the APC in
2013.
Men like Okorocha who cannot stay in one
place need to be placed under arrest.
Okorocha’s jumps from pillar to post have
one unchanging purpose: his unending
search for politically greener pastures. If
he does not secure the vice-presidential
ticket of the APC at their coming
convention, your guess is as good as mine
if he will remain one day longer in the
party. In short, at this stage of Nigerian
politics, virtually all our politicians are
self-serving. Far more than the people
they misrule, they are the ones always
looking for stomach infrastructure.

As insinuation over his possible
ambition in 2015 mounts, two members of
the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, and
the All Progressives Congress, APC, have
approached the Federal High Court in
Abuja, praying it to declare that President
Goodluck Jonathan is ineligible to seek
for a re-election.
In the suit which was entered before the
court by four Senior Advocates of Nigeria,
the plaintiffs, Mr. Adejumo Mansouru
Ajagbe (a member of the PDP from Lagos
State) and Olatoye Wahab (a member of
the APC from Osun State), also joined the
Independent National Electoral
Commission, INEC, and the Attorney
General of the Federation, AGF, as
defendants.
The plaintiffs maintained that going by the
1999 Constitution (as amended),
President Jonathan, having contested the
presidential election twice, won and taken
the oath of office and allegiance twice in
respect that office, they argued that he
could no longer present himself for
election to that office the third time.
They specifically relied on the provisions
of sections 132(1), 135(2)(a) and (b), 137(1)
(b), 142(1) and (2) and the Supreme
Court’s decision in the case of Marwa and
Nyako (2012) 6 NWLR (Part 1296) 199 at
306.

A United Nations panel this week blasted Iran's continued imprisonment of American citizen Saeed Abedini, who is
serving an eight-year prison term in the
Islamic republic for practicing his faith.
Abedini, 34, of Boise, Idaho, "has been
deprived of his liberty for peacefully
exercising the rights to freedom of
religion, belief, and association,” said the
report, from United Nations Human
Rights Council Working Group on
Arbitrary Detention. The report comes
just a week before leaders from around
the world, including Iran, gather for the
annual UN General Assembly in New
York, and ahead of the Sept. 26 two-year
anniversary of Abedini's jailing.

The six-page document detailed Abedini's
plight and called for his immediate
release. His wife, Naghmeh Abedini, who
remains home with their two children, has
pleaded with lawmakers and the White
House to pressure Iran. She told
FoxNews.com she believes the UN stance
could go a long way toward bringing Saeed
Abedini home.

Abedini was arrested in 2009, but
released after pledging to stop formally
organizing house churches in Iran. When
he returned to Iran in 2012 to help build a
state-run, secular orphanage, police pulled
him off a bus and imprisoned him.
Over the last two years, Abedini has
endured long stints in solitary
confinement, and, according to his
attorneys, beatings and torture at the
hands of his jailers and fellow inmates.
For months, he has been denied proper
medical attention for his injuries,
according to his family and attorneys.
“This formal opinion recognizes the
arbitrary nature of Pastor Saeed's
imprisonment -- an imprisonment that
the group declared violated numerous
provisions of international covenants to
which Iran obligated itself,” said Jordan
Sekulow, executive director of the
American Center for Law & Justice, which
represents the Abedini family.
“Iran is at a critical juncture on the world
scene, and it is time that Iran take a step
of good faith and release Pastor Saeed in
accordance with the UN's
recommendation," Sekulow said.
More than a decade ago, Abedini began
working as a Christian leader and
community organizer developing Iran’s
underground home church communities
for Christian converts who are forbidden
from praying in public churches. After
spending months imprisoned without any
notice of charges, Abedini was sentenced
in January 2013 to eight years in prison,
as his family and attorneys continue to
press the State Department and other
public and private groups to help win his
release.
There has been wide bipartisan support in
the Senate and Congress, with lawmakers
calling for the pastor’s immediate release.
Last year, Abedini’s attorneys filed an
appeal to overturn or shorten his prison
sentence but the court denied the petition.
Many have criticized Western leaders for
not pressing more forcefully for Abedini’s
release, along with the two other
Americans, former U.S. Marine Amir
Hekmati and former CIA operative
Robert Levinson, to be released as part of
the ongoing nuclear deal with the Iranian
government.
President Obama raised the issue of
Abedini in his historical phone call with
Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani in
September of last year as he left the UN
and headed back to Tehran, but did not
make it a condition for dropping U.S.-led
economic sanctions imposed over Iran's
nuclear weapons program.

If our marriage breaks down, we must not fool ourselves and others by insisting we are standing
in the righteousness of God

Christian pastors have become demigods. Their word is law; no questions asked. As Jesus said,
they teach as doctrines the commandments of men. (Matthew 15:9). They come up with all
kinds of self-serving principles that turn scripture on its head; just in order to justify themselves
before men and control their lives. I want to discuss Pastor Chris Oyakhilome.

Man of God
Pastor Chris is going through a rough patch at the moment. His wife, Pastor Anita, has filed for
divorce, accusing him of having inappropriate relationships with female church members, among
other things. Instead of waiting for his day in court, Pastor Chris has resorted to bogus
interpretations of the scriptures; even proclaiming he is a “man of God” and therefore above sin.

Pastor Chris declared to his congregation through a live telecast: “There are preachers and there
are men of God. I am not a preacher; I am a man of God, and I go in the way I’m asked to go.
You have to understand something about a man of God. A man of God is not just someone who
worships God or preaches God. A man of God is handpicked by God, set on course by God. If
you study the scriptures, you will not find one man of God go against God, sinning against God.”
What nonsense! Who made Pastor Chris a man of God? From which school of theology did he
get his sinless distinction? John says: “If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and
the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to
cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and
his word is not in us.” (1 John 1:8-10).

David was a “man of God.” (2 Chronicles 8:14). Yet he committed adultery with Bathsheba.
Balaam was a “man of God;” yet he became apostate. The “man of God” who came from Judah
was killed by a lion because he sinned against God. (1 Kings 13:23-26).

But listen to what Pastor Chris says about himself: “We are not working in sin and living in sin
and hoping that we can mix sin and righteousness together. We are the manifestation of his
righteousness.” This is standing logic on its head. If our marriage breaks down, we must not
fool ourselves and others by insisting like Pastor Chris that we are standing in the righteousness
of God. There is no righteousness in divorce.

False Christ
In the bid to justify himself, Pastor Chris is fabricating similarities between Jesus Christ and
himself. He said: “Jesus Christ was accused by many – a lot of frivolous charges. There will
always be those who would like for it to be true. But you know, in spite of the accusations
against Jesus, it didn’t change who he was.”

However, Pastor Chris is not Jesus. Many accusations were indeed leveled against Jesus, but
they were not made by his wife and they did not include inappropriate relationships with the
opposite sex.

In short, Pastor Chris might be whoever he likes, but he is certainly not Jesus. Jesus says: “If I
bear witness of myself, my witness is not true.” (John 5:31).

Yes, there are “men of God” in the Old Testament. However, Jesus created no such distinction in
the New Testament; we are all “children of God.” Jesus says: “Unless you are converted and
become as little children, you will by no means enter the kingdom of heaven.” (Matthew 18:3).
Indeed, Jesus was implacably opposed to men like Pastor Chris, who sit on pedestals and claim
to be holier-than-thou. He says:

“Their lives are perpetual fashion shows, embroidered prayer shawls one day and flowery prayers
the next. They love to sit at the head table at church dinners, basking in the prominent positions,
preening in the radiance of public flattery, receiving honorary degrees, and getting called ‘Doctor’
and ‘Reverend’. Don’t let people do that to you, put you on a pedestal like that. You all have a
single Teacher, and you are all classmates.” (Matthew 23:5-.

Male chauvinism
While Oyakhilome was busy elevating himself, he was also snidely putting down his wife. He
said: “If you are married to a man of God, it doesn’t make you automatically mature. You can
make mistakes; you can do something that is wrong. But some people expect the wife of a
minister to definitely be at the level of that minister.”

This is an arrogant statement. What makes Oyakhilome more spiritually mature than his wife?
By what measure and by what criteria did he come to ascribe this superiority to himself? Anita
Oyakhilome was also a minister. She was a so-called pastor of a London branch of Christ
Embassy. So why should Pastor Chris presume himself more “minister” than her.

If we are to accept Pastor Chris’ bogus self-appellation as a “man of God;” what disqualifies
Anita from also being called a “woman of God?” Are women inferior to men? Oyakhilome said:
“If a man of God is married, it doesn’t automatically mean that the wife of a man of God is
therefore a woman of God. That’s not the way it is in the Bible. That’s why you don’t really find
the wives of men of God mentioned in the Bible…. You never find their names.”

What poppycock! When one of the female pastors in his audience asked why the names of
wives of the men of God were not mentioned in the bible; Oyakhilome’s response was a classic.
He exclaimed: “Why? You ask God when you find him. Ask God when you find him!”

But it was not God who fabricated this theory that the wife of a man of God cannot also be a
woman of God simply because wives’ names are not mentioned in the bible. It was Chris
Oyakhilome. Therefore, it is up to Chris Oyakhilome to provide us with another bogus
explanation.

Pastor Chris ended his diatribe by saying: “When it comes to Reverend Anita, what I will say to
you is ‘pray for her.’” There is no doubt that, more than anybody else; it is Pastor Chris himself
that is greatly in need of prayer.

A Ghana-based pastor has claimed
that the recent loss of lives in a guest
house of the Synagogue Church that
collapsed one week ago could be due

Jonathan, Sambo, Ihejirika, El-
Rufai Joint Sponsors of Boko Haram

As far as I am concerned, Nigeria’s leader,
Goodluck Jonathan, his Vice Namadi
Sambo, former Army Chief Azubuike
Ihejirika and Former FCT Minister Nasir
El Rufai are all joint sponsors of Boko
Haram and one group cannot extricate
itself from the mess Nigeria is facing.
Others in this ignoble group include
Bamanga Tukur (sacked ruling party
chairman), Sambo Dasuki ( NSA) , Retired
IGP Abubakar and all the service chiefs
who served since the former NSA Azazi
revealed that Boko Haram sponsors are in
the ruling party. Therefore, the attempt to
hinge the sponsorship of Boko Haram on
Ihejirika alone as though others are clean
is as despicable as the attempt to pin Boko
Haram sponsorship on Buhari.
I was the first writer to classify Boko
Haram into three in a piece on PDP Boko
Haram initially released on the 2nd of
February 2012. In the said article I stated
that “The Boko Haram as presently
constituted has three wings. The pro-
sharia Boko Haram which is the offshoot
of the one led by late Alhaji Yusuf, the All
Queda Boko Haram which is sponsored by
Arab support and the Peoples Democratic
Party Boko Haram which wants to prevent
President Goodluck from contesting for a
second term in 2015 or stifle his seven
year tenure elongation bid.” , and I still
maintain that the three types of
insurgency can be classified as (1) PDP
Boko Haram (2) Sharia Boko Haram (3)
Al Queda Boko Haram.
The PDP Boko Haram has split with some
migrating to the opposition APC while
some are still within the party. The PDP
Boko Haram can be further subdivided
into three (1) The Northern leaders/
Governors Group (2) The Presidency
Group (3) The Military Contractors group.
I have written piece in 2012 that exposed
the activities of each group and those
entire things I stated which was ignored is
now coming to hunt the nation.
The Northern Leaders/ Governors Group
include PDP Governors, some of whom
have decamped to the APC. It also include
persons like the former National
Chairman of PDP, Alhaji Bamanga Tukur
who as the second most influential
northern politician told the nation on the
16th of May, 2012 while receiving party
chieftains from Gombe State that “Boko
Haram is fighting for justice; Boko Haram
is another name for justice.” The same
stance of Tukur was also echoed by Arewa
Consultative Forum and other prominent
Northern forums and politicians from
both the PDP and APC and they all asked
Jonathan to dialogue with the sect. Those
who claimed Boko Haram is fighting for
justice are also sponsors of Boko Haram.
Another PDP leader fingered as a sponsor
of Boko Haram was Senator Ali Ndume
representing Borno South Senatorial
District. This Senator was dragged to
court by Nigeria’s Secret Police, the SSS,
for giving names of judges to Boko Haram
among others offences and in order to free
himself, Ndume deposed in an affidavit
before Abuja High Court that the Vice
President of Nigeria Architect Namadi
Sambo authorized his romance with Boko
Haram. According to Ndume’s affidavit
“The Vice President of the Federal
Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency
Namadi Sambo, is also aware that he was
in contact with the Jammatul Sunnah
Walid Jihad (otherwise known as ‘Boko
Haram’).
PDP Governors like Rabiu Kwakwanso of
Kano State has been fingered as using
Boko Haram to harass the late Emir of
Kano, HRH Ado Bayero and the Igbo
Community in Kano. It was alleged that
Bayero felt that Kwakwanso was not doing
enough to stave off the insurgency, and for
the misgivings of the late Emir, he was
visited twice with death from
assassination through the bullet and later
through bomb blast. Kwakwanso
threatened to balkanize Kano Emirate, a
week before Bayero died. This Governor
was till late last year a member of the
PDP.
The Presidency branch of Boko Haram
include aides of President Jonathan from
all parts of the country, especially from
Niger Delta who saw the raging
insurgency in the North as means of
automatically nullifying the hostile votes
from the North East, thus making winning
a second term easy for their kinsman. I
have alluded to that in an earlier piece in
2012. While the Presidency group never
armed the insurgents, they failed to do
enough to stave off the insurgents. They
failed to arrest the Boko Haram sponsors
because they can reap political capital out
of the madness. This act also makes them
Boko Haram sponsors
The military branch of the PDP includes
the likes of former Army Chief, Ihejirika
and all the former service chiefs who
benefitted from over bloated defense
budgets. Former IGP Abubakar and NSA
Dasuki are all beneficiary of inflated
defense expenditures. When these
military chiefs from both East, West,
North and South of Nigeria saw through
the insincerity of politicians in acting on
the security reports before them for
obvious political reasons, they did a u-
turn and decided to help themselves with
the national cake by looking the other way
while the militants over run the nation.
The more the crisis, the more money is
released and embezzled. The less the
crisis, the leaner the budget. Therefore,
exposing Ihejirika is akin to exposing all
the service chiefs.
Another former PDP chieftain who
decamped to the opposition, Mallam
Nasir El-Rufai is also among those fueling
support for the insurgency. Mallam El-
Rufai, a consummate human right and anti
corruption crusader, also has some
ubiquitous interest in festering Boko
Haram insurgency in the North of Nigeria.
El-Rufai heads the propaganda machinery
of the opposition and he is adept at it. One
of their strategies is to exaggerate any
human rights violations of the military
authorities in order to discredit the
Jonathan regime. Thus the protesting
voice of the likes of El-Rufai discouraged
the military authorities in their resolve to
stamp out terror. It was combined
pressure from El-Rufai and his band of
propagandists and the protest of Borno
Elders that led to the disbandment of the
Joint Task Force (JTF), in Borno, and its
replacement with the 7th Division. Since
the 7th Division took over the fight
against terror, Mallam Shekau and his
band gained upper hand.
Therefore, sponsors of Boko Haram are in
the PDP and APC. They also include
former Military Chiefs who couldn’t
understand why politicians cannot permit
them to strike at terrorists and arrest
their sponsors. These military chiefs
including Ihejirika, Abubakar and others
decided to use defense budgets to help
themselves. The opposition APC never
allowed the military authorities to come
hard on terrorists, they weakened them
with false propaganda so as to showcase
Jonathan as a failure and El Rufai was the
arrow head. The Presidency Boko Harm
believes that if insurgency ends before
2015 election, they may lose northern
Muslim votes to Buhari and they also
failed to authorize decisive strike against
the terrorists and Jonathan knows this
group.
Therefore, Boko Haram is all about
various interests and 2015 permutations. I
advice these men concerned to put politics
aside and put heads together, by so doing,
Nigeria may be confronting only the
Sharia amd Al-Queda Boko Haram and
that will be much easier to contain.

In a clear show of power, the
governor of Kebbi state, Saidu
Nasamu Dakingari reportedly
slapped his aide de camp,
Mohammed Umar, publicly on
Saturday, September 9.
It was gathered by SaharaReporters that
the incident happened Ahmadu Bello
International Airport in the state capital,
Birnin-Kebbi, at a ceremony marking the
airlift of pilgrims.

According to the report, a total stranger
had attempted to pull at the governor’s
clothes and his ADC who is a
superintendent of police had prevented
the person from doing so.
Instead of commending his ADC for a job
well done, the governor allegedly slapped
him in the presence of pilgrims and other
officials at the ceremony.
He accused his ADC of being over-
zealousness in preventing a stranger from
meeting him.
The assault infuriated police officers in
the state who were dismayed that the
governor had not apologized for
assaulting and humiliating his ADC and
they have vowed to take to the streets to
protest the degrading treatment meted
out to one of their own.
One of the angry police officers in Kebbi
State said: “The police authorities in
Abuja have refused to comment about the
issue.”
The angry officers have also accused the
Inspector General of Police in Abuja of
failing to intervene and demand an
apology and restitution for the assaulted
officer.
Gov Saidu was elected governor of Kebbi
State in April 2007 under the platform of
the People’s Democratic Party (PDP). He
was reelected on 26 April 2011. However,
on 24 February 2012 the Supreme Court
upheld a ruling by the Kebbi State
Governorship Election Petition Tribunal
that nullified his election, and ordered a
fresh election within 90 days. He was
elected again on 31 March and took office
on 2 April.

I do jog twice in a week for fitness and
good health. But Jogging on Nigeria
streets could be said to be synonymous
to attempting suicide. The death of
Dimgba Igwe, a celebrated writer and a
brilliant Journalist, is another great
loss to both Nigeria and the noble
Profession of Journalism. His life was
cut short by a hit-and- run driver while
Jogging to keep himself fit. Governor
Amosun, during his condolence visit to
the Igwes`said " all we have to do is to
submit ourselves to the wish of God".
Is it the wish of God that Igwe be
knocked down by a careless driver
while Jogging? Is the government
doing enough to improve the death
traps called roads in Nigeria? While
mourning the untimely passage of
Igwe, my advice to Joggers in Nigeria is
to stay off the streets and use the
alternatives like Schools, Stadia and
Gymnasiums. Be safe.

Contrary to many people's
opinions,former Super Eagles
player Garba Lawal has exonerated
the Nigeria Football Federation
(NFF) from the travails of the
national team.
Many people believe the crises
rocking the football federation is
partly responsible for Nigeria
slumbering in the 2015 African
Nations Cup qualifiers.
The Super Eagles currently lie
third behind Congo and South
Africa in Group A,and accounting
for only one point after two
matches.
However,Lawal who represented
Nigeria at two World Cup
tournaments blamed the Super
Eagles players for their ordeal.
“The federation has nothing to do
with the way players play on the
field. The politics of the game is
done in the Glass House while
matches are played on the football
pitch,” Garba told The Punch.
“The players are supposed to give
their best on the pitch because that
is where their business lie. How
can anybody say the politics in the
NFF is affecting the team when it
isn’t the federation that will play
the games for them?”
“The team is being rebuilt almost
every time. New players are invited
and I think this is part of the
problem the team has.
“For how long do we rebuild? But
the coach says we have to rebuild
and rebuild, yet the results are all
what we can see.
“These players fly in before the
matches and fly out immediately
after, so how can the federation
troubles affect them? They are just
not committed like the days of old.

President Jacob Zuma of South Africa
announced, Tuesday, that 67 of his
countrymen perished in the collapsed
building at The Synagogue church in
Lagos.
The collapsed building inside the church’s
premises was a five-storey building which
initially was two-storey and the church
decided to add three additional floors on
it.
“I am greatly saddened to announce that
67 South Africans died and scores of
others sustained injuries, after a building
at the Synagogue Church of All Nations
collapsed on Friday, 12 September 2014,
in Lagos, in the Federal Republic of
Nigeria,” Mr. Zuma said in a statement.
Mr. Zuma’s casualty figures, however,
differed markedly from that of the
National Emergency Management Agency,
NEMA, Nigeria’s emergency rescue unit
which had been on the scene since the day
of the incident.
According to NEMA, total death toll as at
Tuesday evening totalled 63 deaths and
131 people rescued with “more likely to be
recovered.”
Rescue workers on Monday deployed
three police sniffer dogs at the accident
scene to assist in the search of trapped
bodies.
It is unclear how the South Africans
arrived at their casualty figures.
Mr. Zuma described the incident as a
difficult time for South Africa.
“Not in the recent history of our country
have we had this large number of our
people die in one incident outside the
country,” Mr. Zuma said.
“Our thoughts are with the families,
friends and colleagues that have lost their
loved ones in this heart-breaking tragedy.
The whole nation shares the pain of the
mothers, fathers, daughters and sons who
have lost their loved ones. We are all in
grief.
“As we mourn this sudden and tragic
death of our fellow compatriots, I have
directed the relevant Government
departments and entities to act with the
utmost urgency to ensure that we
facilitate the movement of relevant family
members to Nigeria to identify the bodies
of their loved ones and to ensure that we
repatriate the remains as soon as possible
under the circumstances,” he added.
When contacted, Ibrahim Farinloye,
NEMA’s South-West spokesperson,
declined to react to Mr. Zuma’s casualty
figures.
“When we finish, everybody will know the
total and who belongs where,” Mr.
Farinloye said.

Before you read on, let me state that I
am a Christian and I believe in Jesus
and the gospel.I humbly respects all
men of God but I'don't idolize any.
Nigerians are religious people- that
may be a good thing,
but perhaps we may just have taken
religion to an extreme. Why else would
we worship a pastor? We kiss the floor
they step on and bow to
their whims and/or caprices. we so
much believe in pastors that we don't
access their words any longer,sadly this
is disheartening, too many ‘heralded’
men of God are not as
humble as should be rather they carry
themselves with airs of supremacy and
by extension make
the congregation treat them in the
same regard.
In reality, they are simply vessels of
the gospel just like anyone of us can
be. The anointing the pastor speaks
of; the one with which he performs
miracles did he get it from his
mother’s soup? No, he got it from God
and so when the pastor yells
anointing, don’t marvel at the work of
his hands rather marvel at the God
who makes it possible.
A majority believe that their prayers
will not be answered unless a pastor
lays hands on them, that they will
not have kids till that special pastor
intercedes on their behalf, that they
will not walk down the aisle till the
man of God professes love into their
lives. In so many ways, people allow
their faith to be held to ransom.
Yet in a despised way, maybe some
pastors have knowingly let the trend
continue. Maybe they enjoy the
veneration but it must be said that the
church, regardless of what name is on
the signpost or front entrance,is an
extension of God’s ministry and not
any man’s tool or machinery for
fame and/or fortune.
In the words of 2face Idibia, ‘No be
me Holy pass’, I simply understand
and believe that there should be a
difference between the man of God and
the God himself. We are all
wonderfully and fearfully made, so do
not ascribe divinity to whom you
shouldn’t. The chant goes ‘Jesus is
Lord’ and not ‘pastor is Lord’.
Cynically, some questions can be
asked: Why take offering(s) from the
congregation to build universities that
the same congregation cannot afford to
put their kids through?
When high-ranking government
officials show up in church, why not tell
them the truth where it hurts?
Why not preach about the perils of
theft and bad governance instead of
ramble on about the merits of
cheerful giving? Why not say ‘Your
Excellency, things have to get better’
instead of saying ‘We’re honoured to
have you in our midst!’ Why not?
Doesn’t the bible says speak the truth
at all times?
And what if we took our country as
seriously as we take some of our
pastors? The way you admonish that
‘brother or sister’ that missed a day of
church, admonish corruption.Shout
‘enough is enough’ with the same
ferocity with which you would
shout ‘amen’ to a prayer. Hound bad
government officials as though they
have demons that need binding
(frankly, some of them really do).
Hopefully these will work some
wonders for Nigeria and maybe the
country may get her much- needed
miracle through our collective efforts
then we can all shout a mighty
Halleluyah.

Former Super Eagles coach Samson
Siasia believes that John Obi Mikel has
a 'larger than life attitude' that is costing
the national team.
Mikel has been under the
microscope,with many criticising his
display while putting on the Nigerian
jersey.
Siasia who coached Mikel both in the
under 20 team and the Super
Eagles,noted that the Chelsea midfield
is arrogant and cannot be talked into
how well to be beneficial to the team.
"Someone would have to talk to him.
But to talk to Mikel, you have to be
ready for your own beating," the former
national team coach told

Mikel's displays for Nigeria has been
mediocre with many even clamouring
for him to be dropped.
In the last two Nations Cup qualifiers
against Congo and South Africa,he
once again failed to step up and lift his
side when faced with difficulties in the
games.
Siasia believes that Mikel should be
able to learn from the criticisms he is
getting and improve his game.
"From what we have seen and what
people are talking about, they don't
think he is giving his best. But he
should be able to criticise himself,"
argued the coach.
"He should do a self-critique. If he
believes he is not doing well, he has to
try and up his game.
“He has been watching the games from
the World Cup, if he thinks he is not
doing well, why is he not scoring, he
has to be able to look at those videos
and see the areas he needs to improve
on.
"Nobody has to tell him. He is a
professional. So, I am not going to
criticise him. He has done well for this
country but if he is not doing well like
he used to, then something has to be
done."

forward or try to take some shots at
goal. (Nemanja) Matic is doing it,
Ramires is doing it, so how come Mikel

The monarch breaks her silence on
Scottish independence four days before
voters go to the polls, with her comments
interpreted as support for a No vote.
The Queen has broken her silence about
the potential break-up of the United
Kingdom by warning Scots to think “very
carefully about the future” before casting
their votes in the independence
referendum.
With only four days to go to the polls and
the contest on a knife edge, the monarch
made a hugely significant intervention by
stating she hoped Scots would consider
closely what their “important” votes
would mean.
Buckingham Palace insiders insisted her
remarks were politically neutral but on
Sunday night they were being viewed as
the clearest sign yet she hopes for a No
vote on Thursday. Henry Bellingham, a
Tory MP, said Royal observers would be
“in no doubt about her views.”
The Queen's comments were made
after she broke her usual protocol and
spoke with well-wishers outside the
church she attends near Balmoral Castle.
In an extremely rare move, police invited
press to observe the exchanges after she
and other members of the Royal Family
left a service that had included a prayer
asking God “to save us from false choices”.
Her exhortation to “think carefully” came
after Prince Harry said on Saturday that
“only the British could have pulled off” the
Invictus Games for injured service
personnel and he would love to keep the
event in the UK, including hosting it in
Glasgow.
Buckingham Palace has previously
rejected calls from Labour and Tory
MPs for the Queen to say something ,
insisting she would not intervene, as she
did in 1977 when Scotland and Wales were
voting on devolved national assemblies.
She used one of her Silver Jubilee
speeches to deliver a clear warning against
breaking up the realm, saying: "I cannot
forget that I was crowned Queen of the
United Kingdom of Great Britain and of
Northern Ireland.”
However, Alex Salmond appeared to
suggest last week she supported Scottish
independence by stating she would be
“proud” to be “Queen of Scots”.
The Queen is currently on her annual
holiday at Balmoral, in Aberdeenshire,
where she is expected to remain for
another three weeks.
She and other members of the Royal
Family attend around 20 Sunday services
per year at Crathie Kirk, a small Church of
Scotland parish church, and visitors often
gather outside to see them come and go.
Although she usually walks between her
car and the church without speaking to
bystanders, she decided to do so after she
left the church on the final Sunday before
the referendum.
Unusually, a police sergeant invited
members of the press waiting 200 yards
away to come up to the church to see the
royal party depart, enabling them to hear
her exchanges.
She was photographed in conversation
with a small group of three four Scots, and
a similar number of English visitors. It is
understood a well-wisher joked they were
not going to mention the referendum, in
response to which she remarked: “You
have an important vote on Thursday.”
The Queen, who was dressed in green with
a black handbag, is then reported to have
said: “Well, I hope people will think very
carefully about the future.”
Asked what the Queen had said to the
group, a woman who asked not to be
named, replied: "She was lovely and said
she hoped everybody would think very
carefully about the referendum this
week".
The Rev Ken MacKenzie, the minister at
Crathie, said he did not hear what the
Queen had said, but confirmed that it was
unusual for her to speak to members of
the public when coming or going from the
kirk.
He added: “The Queen did go on a bit of a
walkabout, which is a really quite unusual
thing for her to do. I don’t know what she
said, but I heard something similar
reported. I think it was a recognition of
the fact that this was an important time
for the nation.”
Donald Stewart, a photographer who
covers royal visits to the kirk, said the last
time he could remember being invited to
photograph the Royal Family leaving the
church was in 2006 on the first
anniversary of the wedding of the Duke
and Duchess of Cornwall.
The Queen was at church with the Duke of
Edinburgh, the Duke and Duchess of
Cornwall, who are known as the Duke and
Duchess of Rothesay in Scotland, the Duke
of York and the Duke of Cambridge, who
is known as Earl of Strathearn north of
the Border. The others did not speak to
the public.
They had earlier heard the Rev Prof David
Fergusson, the guest preacher at the kirk,
speak of the need for reconciliation
between the two sides in the debate
whatever the outcome of the vote.
A Buckingham Palace spokesman said:
“We would never comment on a private
interchange." An insider added the
comment was “completely spontaneous”
and in response to a remark from the
crowd.
"Clearly the Queen being the most
experienced of the lot of us knows where
the line is drawn and in some ways it
reinforces her view that it is for the
Scottish people to decide,” the insider
said.
But Mr Bellingham, was a Coalition
Foreign minister from 2010 to 2012, said:
“Anyone who has been a follower of the
queen has said over the years should be in
no doubt about her views, her incredible
support for the Union.”
Simon Danczuk, a Labour MP, said: “She
means that the people of Scotland should
stay with England and the rest of the
United Kingdom. I am pleased that she
has made a contribution to the
discussion.”
But a spokesman for the pro-separation
Yes Scotland campaign said: “Her Majesty
is echoing the message from Yes Scotland
to all voters – to think very carefully
about this one opportunity that Scotland
will have on Thursday to choose our
future.
“Of course, Buckingham Palace has been
at pains to stress that the Queen has no
position on the independence
referendum.” The pro-UK Better Together
campaign declined to comment.

The only way the APC can redeem its
perception as a supporter of APC party is by
putting forward a South-South man as its
presidential candidate in 2015.
The Northern Elders Forum, the apostles
of “the North is born to rule,” finally
played their joker. They maintained that if
the government does not #Bring Back Our
Girls by the end of October, 2014,
Jonathan should forget about running for
re-election.
This again reveals that there is more
political mischief to the kidnapping of the
Chibok schoolgirls than initially meets the
eye. As a matter of fact, it shows
conclusively that #Bring Back Our Girls is
simply another instrument of #Bring Back
Our Northern Domination.
The First Lady understood this clearly
from the onset; which is why she declared
that: “There is God o!” The people of
Borno understood this. They have always
known that their own feudalist leaders are
behind the kidnapping of the girls. With
the statement of the NEF, Nigerians must
no longer be in two minds about this. The
kidnapping of the Chibok girls is part and
parcel of a cynical plan by some Northern
elements to embarrass the government
and militate against Goodluck Jonathan’s
re-election plans.
For this very reason, Goodluck Jonathan
must not only run for president, he
deserves the support of every Nigerian
determined that this country should not
be surrendered to the Boko Haram. It is
unfortunate for the APC that its interests
are in the short-term the same as those of
the Boko Haram. Indeed, the only way the
APC can redeem its perception as a
supporter of APC party is not by its insistence on
fielding a Northerner, but by putting
forward a South-South man as its
presidential candidate in 2015.
Nevertheless, it would still lose the
election.
New and old North
In the Nigeria of today, there are two
discernible Norths: the new North and the
old North. The new North is perennially
progressive. It is the glue that holds
Nigeria together. While the South-South
threatens secession; the South-East is still
reluctantly Nigerian and the South-West
would rather keep Nigeria at arm’s-
length; the new North remains the only
truly nationalist component of the
country. It never threatens secession but
is preoccupied with national unity.
The new North is the North of men like
our most successful industrialist, Aliko
Dagote, now the 23rd richest man in the
world. It is the North of men like Ibrahim
Gambari; our point-man and intellectual
giant at the United Nations. It is the North
of men like Nuhu Ribadu; whose courage
in going after thieves and robbers in the
EFCC led to his being hassled out of the
police.
It is the North of men like Father-
Reverend Matthew Kukah, a Catholic
priest with a national social conscience. It
is the North of men like Mohammed Buba
Marwa, the most dynamic governor in
Nigeria during the Abacha regime.
But subsisting beside this new progressive
North is the old North of decrepit old men
who have lived for long as parasites on
Nigeria’s oil wealth. This old North is the
North of #Bring Back Our Northern
Domination; a North of indolent political
has-beens; looking for pensions from
national coffers. It is the North of
recalcitrant yesterdays men who had lived
large at the country’s expense and are
hankering after an inglorious past where
they spent the national patrimony with
the profligacy and abandon of
irresponsible firstborn children.
This is the old North that ran down the
nation’s resources. It is the North that
built nothing and grew nothing. It is the
North that ate up our groundnut
pyramids. It is the North that, despite
being in power for 38 years, failed
grievously to educate Northern children.
It is the North that paid lip-service to the
North but cared nothing about the welfare
of Northerners. It is the North of those
who kept their fellow Northerners in the
bondage of abject poverty under a feudal
system where, like dogs, they fed them
from the crumbs that fell from their table.
This old North is the North of men who
are now reduced to pathetic bluster and
blackmail. It is these same Northerners
that are now crying #Bring Back Our
Northern Domination. But they can no
longer fool the new emergent North; and
they certainly cannot fool the rest of the
country, except perhaps a few gullible and
power-hungry Yoruba chieftains.
The new progressive and nationalist
North has long rebelled against the old
feudal North, but the #Bring Back Our
Northern Domination brigadiers have yet
to receive the memo. When as far back as
the 1993 presidential election, the old
North presented yet another feudal lord in
the person of Bashir Tofa, as successor-
prince of the Niger, the new North refused
to play ball. Although Tofa was a
Northern favourite-son and Abiola from
the South, the new North opted massively
for Abiola; refusing to be persuaded any
longer by the lie that Northern interests
are best served by Northern feudalism.
Back-fired coup
In desperation, the old North hatched its
most audacious coup d’état yet: it
annulled the 1993 election. But then,
suddenly, it found itself naked and
isolated. Its traditional sources of support
melted away. It took it another six years
of Abacha’s recalcitrant regime for the old
North to realise that the centre could no
longer hold. But it comforted itself in the
belief that it could continue in power by
choosing a pliant Southern successor to
hold fort for a few years while tempers
cooled and then relaunch its #Bring Back
Our Northern Domination project just as
before.
The choice of Northern feudalism in 1999
was Olusegun Obasanjo. His credential
was that in 1978, when fate handed him
the position of Head-of-State, he was very
mindful of Northern feudal interests and
dutifully handed over power back to a
clueless Northern feudal lord, in the
person of Alhaji Shehu Shagari.
But it soon dawned on the old North that
the second-coming of Obasanjo would be
different from the first. Obasanjo’s first
task in regaining power was to demolish
feudal Northern power first and foremost
in the army. Once he started that, the old
North was up in arms.
In spite his limitations, Obasanjo was a
nationalist. While he was nominated for
president by the feudal North, Obasanjo
recognized that he was elected by
Nigerians and especially by the new
North. Therefore, he refused to play
second-fiddle to Northern feudalism. All
Obasanjo would agree to was that power
would ultimately return to the feudal
North, but even that only after he might
have remained in power for a wishful-
thinking period of twelve years.
Nigerian good luck
However, Nigerians sent Obasanjo
packing after his statutory eight years. He
then dutifully handed over power to
another Northerner of the old school,
Musa Yar’Adua. But this time, it was not
only fate that intervened; it was also
Nigerian good luck.
The illness of President Yar’Adua made
the return to Northern domination short-
lived. While Yar’Adua was incapacitated,
the #Bring Back Our Northern
Domination feudalists conned he nation,
flagrantly raiding the treasury by
fraudulently forging cheques in
Yar’Adua’s name. But they would soon
pay a penalty for this. Goodluck Jonathan,
a South-South man, was sworn in to
complete Yar’Adua’s unexpired two years.
After that, he became eligible for another
eight years; making it a possible total of at
least ten years of political wilderness for
Northern feudalists.
Up in arms, the feudalists shopped for a
Northern Goliath to oust Jonathan from
contention in the 2011 presidential
election. Their choice of Atiku Abubakar
suffered ignominious defeat by Jonathan
in the PDP primaries. All hope then
rested on Buhari, another apostle of
Northern domination. However, the old
North could only mobilize 11.8 million
votes for him from Northerners in the
2011 election.
Instead, the new North gave Goodluck
Jonathan of the South-South a massive
8.4 million Northern votes in 2011; in
preference to its Northern regional
champion of Buhari. At the same time, the
outright rejection of Northern feudalism
by the rest of the country was evident in
the fact that out of over 38 million votes
cast nationwide; Buhari could only obtain
391,922 votes from all the states in the
entire South put together.
Last gambit
Having finally realised that a major
segment of the North is no longer
amenable to feudal manipulation, the #
Bring Back Our Northern Domination
brigade has now decided to enter into a
marriage of convenience with certain
gullible elements in the South-West who
are inclined to sell the Yorubas into
slavery, for the sake of their personal
political ambitions. In their greed for
power, these naïve Yorubas are blind to
the plan of the Northern feudalists to use
them merely as stepping-stones to Aso
Rock.
But this plan has already come to grief.
Things have quickly fallen apart in the
backyard of their ACN alliance partners in
the South-West. In 2011, ACN obtained a
measly 0.8% of the PDP vote in Cross
River. In Rivers State, it obtained only
0.9% of the PDP vote. That is how you
know these states are PDP strongholds.
The opposition is not just defeated; it is
decimated.
Fast-forward to today, on the eve of the
2015 election. The ACN (now APC) loses
the gubernatorial election to the PDP in
its so-called stronghold of Ekiti, losing in
all the local government areas in the
process. It then struggles to win in Osun,
conceding 42% of its vote to the PDP. And
yet, this same APC would like us to
believe that it is going to be a problem for
the PDP in the 2015 election. Pull another
leg!
With the game clearly over before it has
even begun, the #Bring Back Our
Northern Domination brigade has now
resorted to its backup plan: to use the #
Bring Back Our Girls campaign as a tool to
force Goodluck Jonathan not to run for
re-election.
However, this has turned out to be one big
blunder. All it has succeeded in doing is in
raising cynical questions about the very
kidnapping of the Chibok schoolgirls, the
so-called assassination attempt on the life
of Muhammadu Buhari and the despicable
extent to which the #Bring Back Our
Northern Domination vanguard of the
APC would go in their desperation for
political power.

compromised that they do must defend
even thieves from Igboland? Are these
Igbo not aware that such fight, like in the
case of Stella Oduah not only ridicules the
Igbo but belittles them before others?
What happens to the sanctimonious
resolve of our fore fathers never to get
involved in war of blame?

At the risk of being tagged once again as
anti-Igbo by rabid, commissioned slave
traders who see Ndigbo as easy wares to
be marketed to their political masters, I
write this open letter to my people.
At the huge risk of being called names by
my brothers and sisters, I boldly write
this piece to my people. I have been called
names in the past for speaking out and I
may be wrong but please forgive me. I
write because I know that a story that
must be told never forgives silence. I write
despite all odds because I know that when
a writer is silent he or she is lying. I write
because I want things to be done
differently, because I know that the
greatest part of hell will be reserved for
those who maintain their neutrality in
times of great moral crisis. I write
knowing fully well that I am not the best
God ever created and therefore mine
cannot be the last word. Two incidents
involving Mrs. Stella Oduah, who was
removed as a Minister for corruption, and
General Ihejirika, who just retired from
the Nigerian Army necessitated this open
letter.
Sacked aviation minister Stella Oduah and
former COAS General Ihejirika
Mrs. Stella Oduah was removed as a
Minister of Aviation for issues bordering
on corruption. She was accused of
financial recklessness.
When the lid was blown open, our people
went to town to defend Mrs Stella Oduah.
All Igbo organizations went to town with
the chorus "LEAVE STELLA ODUAH
ALONE". The shouts came from our
people all over the world and it was loud
enough and at best, deafening. When Mrs.
Stella Oduah was eventually eased out by
the presidency, one thought our people
will learn the lesson but not Igbo. Our
leaders went to town with a project to
honour Mrs. Stella Oduah and others with
awards in Lagos. In preparation for the
ceremony one of the leaders spoke to the
press. Hear him “we are honouring our
own Mrs. Stella Oduah to show the world
that even when Nigeria mocks our
brightest and best for doing a good job at
the Aviation Industry, we must tell the
world that we love and celebrate our
own.” She was given an instant title of Ada
Igbo. As I write this, billboards are at
strategic locations in Igboland, celebrating
her as ADA IGBO.
Now enter General Ihejirika, the former
Chief of Army Staff.
General Ihejirika just retired from the
Army after serving for more than three
decades. General Ihejirika is now eyeing
the governorship seat in Abia State on the
platform of PDP just few months after
pulling out of the Nigerian Army.
But just recently an Australian peace
negotiator, Stephen Davis, who was
allegedly contracted by the federal
government and who spent four months in
Nigeria negotiating with Boko Haram to
get the kidnapped Chibok girls out, told
the world that the former Governor of
Borno State Ali Modu Sheriff and
Ihejirika have hands in sponsoring Boko
Haram. The moment Stephen Davis'
statement hit the Nigerian public space,
hell was let loose once again. Our people
went to town with the usual mantra:
"LEAVE IHEJIRIKA ALONE". Almost all
the Igbo organizations have issued press
statements suggesting that General
Ihejirika is now being persecuted for
staking his life to fight Boko Haram for
Nigeria. Again the noise was so loud and
deafening.
According to our people Ihejirika is being
persecuted because he is Igbo. Even Igbo
World Assembly (IWA) in far away
United States was not left out in the
drama. In the social media it is Igbo and
other Nigerians.
Now the questions are: do we need to
defend Mrs. Stella Oduah and General
Ihejirika? Are they not old enough or
competent enough to defend themselves?
Were our people with them when they
were serving? Can we swear we know
them very well to continue this noise? Do
we really know the character of these
persons? Why this prebendal politics? If
we continue to defend our tribes only,
who will then defend Nigeria? Who is
working for Nigeria if I may ask? Is it not
bad behaviour for Igbo to continue to
defend what they know nothing about?
Are we not making ourselves objects of
ridicule in the eyes of other Nigerians?
When we pour invectives on other
Nigerians or people who are different
from us are we not endangering the lives
and businesses of Ndigbo scattered all
over Nigerians?
Have we forgotten that our people are the
most mobile in Nigeria? Do we know how
other Nigerians rate us in this predictable
primitive defense? Do we consider the
feelings of other Nigerians? What signals
are we sending out with this improper
behaviour? Don’t we have men and
women who will say enough is enough in
this madness of defending the
indefensible?
We know Igbo history, philosophy and
sociology, when did it tolerate blind and
unquestionable defence of someone who
might have compromised his or herself
while in office? When has Igbo become so
ethically compromised that they do must
defend even thieves from Igboland? Are
these Igbo not aware that such fight, like
in the case of Stella Oduah not only
ridicules the Igbo but belittles them
before others? What happens to the
sanctimonious resolve of our fore fathers
never to get involved in war of blame?
When Professor Grace Grange, IG Tafa
Balogun, and Speaker Patricia Etteh, were
removed for corruption, did the Yoruba
resort to this kind of blackmail? What is
the North saying about Ali Modu Sherrif,
the former Governor of Borno State
implicated in Boko Haram insurgency
with Ihejirika? These are just few cases I
wanted to mention for emphasis.
To the best of my knowledge I do not
think our people are playing better
politics in Nigeria now. I do not think the
way we are going now will help us
politically. I do not think other Nigerians
will trust us if we continue this way. I have
slim hope that other Nigerians will take
serious in matters of Nigerian politics. I
am not led to believe that we are getting it
right, rather I think we are going the
wrong way.
For emphasis, Ihejirika may be guilty or
not but it is his to prove. I am not saying
he is guilty for I do not know the details.
He doesn’t need all the cahoots of
persuaders now striving to show their
support for him to do so. In every sane
society, security is a complicated issue and
every person within that society, even the
president, is a suspect until proven
otherwise. The best for Ihejirika is to step
out and put a solid defence and shame his
accusers. If he believes he will get the mob
to extricate him, he is making a mistake
and getting himself indicted by history
and that is far more dangerous for him.
I suggest that Igbo should stop creating
enemies for itself in Nigeria. I suggest that
Igbo should rise above ethnic
preoccupation to help move Nigeria
forward. If we are still one Nigeria, Igbo
should consider the feelings of other
Nigerians. This defeatism attitude must
give way to politics of ideas. This
persecution complex must stop. This
leadership complex must seize to exist.

New facts showing stronger links between
former governor of Borno state, Ali Modu
Sheriff, and the Boko Haram sect have
emerged, further fuelling suggestions the
ex-governor is a major financier of the
terrorist sect.
Intelligence insights obtained by
PREMIUM TIMES in Maiduguri,
Damaturu, and Abuja show dated
communications between field officers
and the velvet ranks of Nigeria’s military
chronicling Mr. Sheriff’s involvement in
promoting the growth of the sect.
The communications painted a picture of
what appears to be a powerful regional
support structure involving the Chadian
president, Nigerian officials and Niger
Republic, and spearheaded by Mr. Sheriff
whom the intelligence presents as a
powerful figure within this circle.
Strong evidence indicates that the
Nigerian government received official
actionable intelligence about Mr. Sheriff’s
links to Boko Haram as far back as 2011
but has, curiously, ignored all warnings
and nudges to act to stop the Boko Haram
call him in for interrogation.
Mr. Sheriff has long been suspected of
masterminding the Boko Haram sect, but
the documents sighted by this newspaper
offers deeper understanding into how Mr.
Sheriff allegedly finances the deadly sect
and his probable motivations.
When Sheriff visits Abeche
Nourished by deep and impeccable
sources from members of the Chadian
Army, Nigerian intelligence experts had
arrived at fairly certain conclusions that
Mr. Sheriff was actively involved in the
recruitment, training and deployment of
Boko Haram members.
“…members of Boko Haram sect are
sometimes kept in Abeche region in Chad
and trained before being dispersed. This
happens usually when Mr. Sheriff visits
Abeche,” a 2011 memo from field officers
in N’djamena,the capital of Chad, read.
When Mr. Sheriff visits Abeche for these
activities, he lodges in Chadian
Presidential Guest House in Abeche, and
is provided security by the Chadian
government, the intelligence
communications claim.
Mr. Sheriff is a close friend of the Chadian
president, Idris Deby.
In 2011, during the Chadian presidential
elections, Mr. Sheriff supported the
Chadian president with 35 vehicles, for
security, and is believed to have
bankrolled Mr. Deby’s re-election.
Nigerian defence and intelligence
community members typically describe
Mr. Sheriff as a gun runner in their many
communications, and they often speak in
conviction that his weapons find their way
into Nigeria through Niger Republic into
Yobe state. Yobe is Boko Haram’s
stronghold and has suffered heavy
casualties in magnitudes only second to
Borno.
Money, Politics and Power
Back in August 2011, intelligence officials
were characterising Mr. Sheriff’s
motivations for sponsoring Boko Haram
as similar to a certain “3rd generation
South South governor,” with the aim of
covering up financial irregularities he
might have committed as governor of
Borno state, as well as propagate a stay-
put in office strategy by suppressing the
opposition.
The officials suggest that Mr. Sheriff did
not create the sect but was actively using
the “monster” and could be sponsoring
the sect as a way of protecting himself
from the sect members who were “calling
for his head” at the time.
“One way of reclaiming the lost loyalty of
the sect therefore, was sponsorship of
their cause,” intelligence officials were
telling their principals.
Mr. Sheriff was not reachable for his
comments. A former commissioner under
his administration as governor of Borno
state who also speaks for him, Inuwa
Bwala, told PREMIUM TIMES Mr. Sheriff
was outside the country and could not
respond to enquiries.
Both the Nigerian defence headquarters
and the Nigerian government also
declined to comment on this intelligence.
Phone calls were not answered, and text
messages were not replied to.
Mr. Sheriff has been accused before of
links to the terrorist group, Boko Haram.
He denies any links.
An April 2, 2012 report by a Cameroonian
daily, L’Oriel du Sahel, said the former
governor, now a member of the ruling
Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, was
arrested in 2012 upon entering Cameroon
from Chad on his way to meeting the
governor of that country’s northern
region.
The report said Cameroonian police
authorities questioned Mr. Sheriff for
hours and only released him later
following pressure from senior
government officials in that country.
An Ambassador Usman Galtimari Panel,
set up by President Goodluck Jonathan to
investigate the genesis of the insurgency
in the North East, had also blamed Mr.
Sheriff for the growth of Boko Haram in a
report
.
Chadian President Connection
An Australian negotiator, Stephen Davis,
recently named Mr. Sheriff, alongside
former Nigerian Army Chief, Azubuike
Ihejirika, as sponsors of the Boko Haram
sect, quoting the sect’s leadership.
Nigeria’s defence intelligence was silent
on the role of Mr. Ihejirika in promoting
the deadly sect whose bloody campaign
have killed up to 5000 Nigerians and left
many homeless, broken and internally
displaced, but names the Chadian
president, Mr. Deby, as a new dimension
to the Boko Haram sponsorship dynamics.
In 2011, a strong Boko Haram army was
also beneficial to the Chadian president,
as it provided a “ready army and possible
refuge” for a president that was facing
growing distrust from his legitimate army,
Nigerian intelligence officials claimed.
The Chadian government support for the
sect was made majorly through his
friendship with Mr. Sheriff and at the
expense of his country’s relationship with
Nigeria, the report said.
Transformed sect
Violence by the Boko Haram sect, which
had only religious interest in the past, is
traceable to the five days of clashes in July
2009, between the group and members of
the security forces in Borno, Yobe, Bauchi,
and Kano states that left more than 800
people dead, including at least 30 police
officers.
The police summarily executed the
captured Boko Haram leader, Mohammed
Yusuf, along with several dozen of his
followers in front of the police
headquarters in Maiduguri. Dozens of its
members were also arrested.
Boko Haram frequently said its attacks on
the government, especially the police, are
in revenge for these killings and an
attempt to set free members incarcerated
by the police.
Recently, the ideology behind Boko
Haram attacks got more confusing with
increasing attacks on schools, media
houses and almost any soft target with
wide media reach. The group has gotten
bolder by the day and has shown interest
in capturing and occupying cities it calls
its Caliphates.
The sect has overrun towns and villages,
including Mubi, Michika, Bazza, Gulak,
Gwoza, Bama, Gamboru and Ngala in
Adamawa and Borno states. Ngala is the
home place Mr. Sheriff.

The Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II
has urged the Kano State Government to
enact a law that will punish those who end
their marriages on questionable grounds.
Mr. Sanusi lamented the spate of divorce
in Kano State, and said there must be
punitive steps to reverse the trend.
He said many residents end their
marriages on flimsy excuses.
The Emir who spoke in Kano, Friday,
noted that women are often the most
affected after divorce.
The worst hit, he said, are the uneducated
and the economically-disadvantaged
whose marriages are ended by their
husbands over matters that could have
been resolved.
Mr. Sanusi said anyone found guilty of
separating from his or her spouse without
sufficient reasons will be appropriately
penalized to deter others and help reduce
the huge number of divorce cases in the
state.
He also warned his subjects, district
heads, ward and village heads against drug
addiction, saying he will not hesitate to
expel anybody found in drug addiction.

Jonathan Orders Removal of #Bring
Back Jonathan Banners, Signs In
Abuja

As the campaigns/rallies to canvass for
support on his second term ambition
continue in different geo political zones of
the country, President Goodluck Jonathan
has directed removal and pulling down of
#Bring Back Jonathan 2015 signs and
banners around Federal Capital Territory
(FCT), Abuja.
President Jonathan in a statement issued
Wednesday, by his Special Adviser on
Media and Publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati
said he “wholly shares the widely
expressed view that the signs which were
put up without his knowledge or approval
are a highly insensitive parody of the #
Bring Back Our Girls hash tag”.
Dr. Abati indicated while Mr. President
appreciated the enthusiastic show of
support for his administration by a broad
range of stakeholders, he however
condemned the #Bring Back Jonathan
2015 signs which he viewed trivialized the
very serious national and global concern
for the over 200 abducted Chibok
secondary school girls.
In the meantime, the President has
assured Nigerians and the international
community that his administration
remained fully engaged with efforts to
rescue the abducted girls and he would
not consciously “promote any action that
will fly in the face of the seriousness of
their plight and the anguish of their
families”.

A Federal High Court in Abeokuta, Ogun
State​,​ has ordered the Ewekoro Power
Plant, EPP, located in Lagos, sealed for
failure to pay outstanding taxes totaling
N114 million.
This followed a suit by the Federal Inland
Revenue Service, FIRS and a prayer that a
bench warrant be issued by the court for
the arrest of the key officials of the
company.
The court gave the order after a series of
adjournments occasioned by the refusal of
the company’s officials to appear in court.
The closure was carried out by court
bailiffs, along with a combined team of
FIRS officials and officers of the Lagos
state Police Command.
Earlier, the FIRS approached the court to
compel the company to meet its tax
obligations but the company neither
appeared nor was represented in the court
prompting multiple adjournments.
Dissatisfied with the company`s conduct,
the court issued a bench warrant to
compel appearance which the officials of
the company equally evaded necessitating
the sealing of the company’s premises.
Justice P.F. Olayiwola, who ruled on FIRS
motion on notice after hearing counsel to
the Service, Adeyeoluwa Mathew, said the
court hereby ordered as follows:
“That an order for interim forfeiture of
property of corporate head office of
Ewekoro Power Plant situate at Victoria
House, 35/37, Isheri Road, Aguda Ogba
area, Ikeja, Lagos State pending final
liquidation of the tax liability of about
N114,000,000 (One hundred and fourteen
million naira) only is herby granted.
“That an order for interim forfeiture of
property of Ewekoro Power Plant situate
at 3rd floor, Topaz floor, All Seasons
Plaza, 24 Lateef Jakande Road, Agidingbi,
Ikeja, Lagos State pending final
liquidation of the Tax liability of
N114,000,000 (One hundred and fourteen
million naira) only is hereby granted.”

Lagos Declares October 15 Horn- Free Day
The Lagos State Government has declared
October 15 of this year horn-free day, a
day in which no motorist will use horn.
The government said it has concluded
plans to set a date aside to be observed as
a horn free day every year.
Commissioner for Transportation,
Comrade Kayode Opeifa disclosed this on
Friday in Alausa, Lagos, Nigeria.
The Commissioner said that the
observance of the horn-free day is
expected to reduce noise pollution from
the use of the horn, improve road
courtesy, improve lane discipline and
draw motorists’ attention to the
importance of road discipline and mutual
respect for other road users.
He said Governor Babatunde Fashola has
challenged road users in Lagos State to
observe a horn-free day which is designed
to complement the on-going efforts by the
Lagos State Government in the provision
and upgrading of traffic infrastructure
across the State.
The activities lined up towards the horn-
free day, which is slated for Wednesday,
October 15, 2014 will involve active
engagement of radio and television
stations in generating discussions
challenging road users to observe a horn-
free day.
The day will also witness endorsement by
relevant stakeholders, Ember months
Campaign by Vehicle Inspection Service to
advocate, education and enlightenment of
road users on road safety, Law
Enforcement Training Institute’s (LETI)
community outreach programme which
involves market and motor park
engagements that will provide avenue for
discussion of the horn-free day and the
engagement of Traffic Safety Ambassadors
to partner with the Ministry of
Transportation to support the successful
observation of the horn free day.
Opeifa, however, urged all motorists,
Lagosians and the general public to
support the State Government by
observing and adhering to the horn-free
day exercise.

The Rivers State Chapter of the All
Progressives Congress, APC, has
condemned Saturday’s pro-Jonathan rally
organised in the state capital, Port
Harcourt, by the Transformation
Ambassadors of Nigeria, TAN.
The party said the group was secretly
sponsored by the presidency to enable
President Goodluck Jonathan secure a
fresh term.
TAN had on Saturday organised the rally
to pressure Mr. Jonathan to seek re-
election during the February 2015
presidential election.
At the rally, the organisers said they had
secured 4.1 million signatures from the six
states of the South-South urging the
president to run.
It had earlier announced at the rallies in
Awka in the South East and Ibadan in the
South West that it collected 1.6 million
and 1.8 million signatures, respectively
asking the president to seek re-election.
“President Jonathan and his promoters
through the misguided elements in
Transformation Ambassadors of Nigeria
(TAN) have once again demonstrated
their hatred and lack of understanding of
the plight of Nigerians, particularly those
in Rivers State, by going ahead to organise
their senseless rally in Port Harcourt even
after being alerted of the outbreak of the
Ebola Virus Disease in the State by the
Minister of Health and other relevant
bodies,” the APC said in a statement by its
chairman, Davies Ikanya.
“With this TAN Rally in Port Harcourt,
President Goodluck Jonathan and his
cohorts have only succeeded in exposing
their deep-rooted hatred for the good
people of Rivers State, fully aware of the
implication of organising such a senseless
rally at this period that we are still
studying how wicked agents secretly
exported Ebola to Rivers State just to
endanger the lives of Rivers people. This
was after Nigerians had been warned to
desist from organising large gatherings.
This is the height of insensitivity which
will surely spell electoral doom for
President Jonathan and his Peoples
Democratic Party (PDP) in 2015 and
beyond.”
The party commended “discerning sons”
of Rivers State, including a former
Transport Minister, Abiye Sekibo, Deputy
National Chairman of the Peoples
Democratic Party, PDP, Uche Secondus,
the Chairman of the PDP in Rivers State,
Felix Obuah, and Doris Fisher who
shunned the event.
Alleging that the rally was promoted by
the Minister of State for Education,
Nyesom Wike, the party said it had “taken
note of the minister’s courageous
declaration during the rally that Mr.
Jonathan had not done anything
meaningful for Rivers State and its people
apart from approving a school on oil and
gas which is still on the drawing board”.
“We would however have expected Chief
Wike to tell the world that Rivers and her
people will never vote for PDP, seeing the
injustice and wickedness the state has

in River State is that we have a President
Goodluck Jonathan of the PDP whose
hatred for our state and her people is
legendary not minding that he is from our

gave him the highest number of votes that
made him the President. Our campaign
strategy will be centered on this hatred,
which has manifested in the hounding of
Governor Chibuike Amaechi, the ceding of
our oil wells to Bayelsa and Abia states,
refusal to direct Akwa Ibom to pay us the
proceeds of our oil wells she kept for
many years, wicked refusal to implement
the UNEP Report on Ogoni and now the
deliberate act to worsen the Ebola crisis
in the state by allowing a rally in his
honour against wise counsel by those who
truly care about the health and wellbeing
of Rivers people. Mr. President has left no
one in doubt of his deep hatred for Rivers
State and her people, so how can we
support him or any PDP candidate in
2015?
“In any case, the feats of the Amaechi
administration are enough to give us
victory in future elections. These feats,
which are well known, include making
Port Harcourt the World Book Capital
City, eradication of militancy, dogged fight
for the oil wells and other rights of Rivers
State and her people, as well as award-
winning achievements in Education,
Agriculture, Health, etc.”
The ruling party in Rivers State asked the
people of the state “to make their choice
between the characters and vision of those
in PDP (insecurity, ungodliness, etc) and
the vision and characters of those in APC
(godliness, security and concern for the
future of our state). These are the issues
for Rivers State to use to decide which of
the parties governs the State from 2015.”
The APC advised its faithful in the state
not to panic or fear about the future of the
party, saying, “Rivers people have since
adopted APC as the party of their choice
and there is nothing the doomed PDP or
any other party can do about that.”

The management of the Osun State University has closed
down the Ikire Campus of the university indefinitely.
Our correspondent gathered that the management in a memo
issued by the Registrar of the university announced the
indefinite closure of the institution following an all night
violent protest allegedly embarked upon by students of the
school following the death of their colleague in an accident.
The Public Relations Officer of UNIOSUN, Mr. Oladeji
Abokede, confirmed the indefinite closure of the Ikire
Campus to our correspondent on the telephone on Saturday.
He said, “The management has closed down the Ikire
Campus due to a violent protest by the students. The
closure is indefinite. We will inform them when to resume.”
