For starters, I would suggest you get comfortable addressing family members or friends first, then try speaking in front of a small group of strangers. When you feel you've mustered enough courage, you can then move onto larger audiences. Also try to be very prepared. Preparation is key to controlling your fear. If you know your material inside and out, and you're ready to answer audience questions, you’re well on your way to giving a good speech absence fear and shyness.

Well if you see shyness as an enemy of progress, you will definitely get rid of it. Learn to read more motivational and inspirational books. Attend functions and seminars often, and also contribute to topics discuss in a group. Always ask reasonable questions in public lectures if you have the opportunity. In your closet, practice it
