Annual renewal. I didn't just automatically renew...gave them a call to update some info for the new year and then negotiated the price of over 800 they quoted me to just over 600. I still asked for more (as Olivia Twist 😀) but they were now asking if I had a better deal so they could match, I didn't (lowest quote I got was almost double £1400) so I took what was on the table.
I think having a history with them helped.

Did similar thing when renewing my insurance with Admiral last month. They gave me a quote which was even higher than my first year, I just sent them a mail that I will not be renewing, they automatically sent a new quote that was £200 lesser, then I started haggling, reduced my estimated mileage as the current one wasn't realistic based on my usage. I also noted that the cost of additional perks like roadside assistance, legal service, recovery etc was influencing the price, so I cancelled those perks. Instead, I got another quote from RAC for those additional services at a much lower price and with a free MOT.

Have you tried asking the HR in the hospital where you work? It is not uncommon for couples to work in the same hospital.

Just say your wife needs a job and it's making you unsettled...new vacancies in the medical field should open in August so do ask them where you work
Thanks but I do not work in a hospital or health sector. smiley

Usually the first job is hard but once you have that and a couple of others then it start flowing... I would say for her first locum she needs to be willing to go any where even if it for one day or one week. A friend sent to Belfast for a month just to get that experience and she lives in London . I have others who went far. Once she has that experience even if for a month then you can be restricted in location. ID medical used to be good in locum, there are others out there as well

Thanks for your response

Hi All, I will really appreciate your response to my case below.

I came into the UK with my wife in August 2019, on a Tier 2 visa, my wife as my dependant. My wife is a medical doctor, and completed her PLAB 2 in November and got her GMC registration in December.

Since then, she has been unable to secure a job majorly due to restriction on areas she can apply to. We stay in Reading, so she only looks out for application within that area on the NHS site.

We have also explored Locum jobs and she has signed up with RM medics and undergoing registration with Holt doctors, but nothing yet.

I will appreciate any advice that can bolster her chance of getting a job or recommendation on any agency who can also help either with locum or full time.

Hey guyz I know this isnt the best place to ask this.. But please anyone can help? To get tier 2 visa, must my B.sc certificate be related to my job offer. Cuz mine may not be related but I have a job offer and the organization will be sponsoring. Eg. Having bsc in agric and getting a job offer in hospitality. Will it be fine?
It doesn't have to be related. What matters most is your COS. Tier 2 visa is point based and straightforward if you have all required documents. I got mine this week and my course of study is different from my job offer.

Hi guys
Please I need your urgent assistance

I am currently applying for myself and wife. Pyment of my application fee was successful. However I have been struggling with that of my wife since yesterday all to no avail. Below is the notification I get each time I tried. The account sufficiently funded and I even had to use my wife's card but got the same issue. Pls help am I doing something wrong?

Your payment provider
The payment was refused by your card provider
This could be because you do not have sufficient funds, or you entered your card details incorrectly. Please try again.

Try with another card. I think there is a maximum limit of N1m monthly on debit cards for online transactions. I also encountered same, so I used another card

[Thanks for this.]

Dont stress yourself with that unfounded rumour, as long as you are legally married in a certified court in Nigeria it is acceptable. You can also add your church/mosque certificate but not necessary.

Pictures and chats are not necessary for Tier 2 Visa. It is really easy as long as you stick to all the rules to the T.

All the best.

N.B:mine was done in a village from osun state and had no issues at all.

Good morning, thanks to all wonderful contributors on this thread. The information here is priceless.

I'm applying for a tier 2 visa for myself and my wife(dependant) and my employer is certifying maintenance for both of us.
Please how true is it that only marriage certificate from Ikoyi registry is recognized by the embassy because mine was done and issued at Ibadan registry.

Also, part of the documents required from my wife is proof of relationship in which I've compiled previous pictures, court wedding pics, intro pics and screenshot of chats. Please are their any other persuasive documents I may need to include.

I look forward to your response.

See ya mouth. Why you no open your own if na so e easy.

FYI the activities of these NGOS are the reason we still have some semblance of humanity in the country, esp healthcare. From health sector (HIV,TB,malaria, etc), food (Agric) to civil society and then of course those that help in conflict situations like Borno, these organisations render invaluable benefit. Moreover they usually pay their workers very well.

This is apt.

Hello, TJ18. I trust you must be a staff in Kpmg now. Pls I have a question to ask. I submitted my form without the transcript as it is not available at the moment. Though I have made contact with my school and it should be sent to the head office. Pls will I still be contacted for the AC?
Hi Royce20,
I did my AC without my transript being ready. I'm sure you would be called at the right time. Which division did you choose? #cheers

Please, how do I convert 3.92/5 cgpa to a 4.0 scale. Using my normal math, i get a 3.14 equivalent, but from your post, 3.64/5 is equivalent to 3.28/4...help pls
Unless you send your transcript to WES,ECE and the likes for conversion, other forms of conversion are just estimates but they give you a rough idea of your standing. 3.92 is should get you 3.0-3.2 out of 4.I got a 4.13,when i did my conversion,I think I got around 3.2 or so.#cheers

Sirriddy baba, wow,i could not be more happy for you and being thankful to God on your behalf. This guy is a classic example of a good turn deserving another.I thank God that your 'another' happens to be a prove of God's providence. I remember 'disturbing' when i was to write my GRE and TOEFL last year, your cool and calm nature still mesmerizes me till date. Well, I got my admission at UTD but shelved Msc for some multinational experience. You know quite well that the journey just began, but don't stop being you ,and expect a jolly ride.Congrats man.
sirRiddy:
So the journey that started on this platform about two years ago was consolidated with a visa approval at the Lagos consulate this morning, the 23rd of May. I would have dropped my transcript earlier but I could not since I am still serving a ban for adding people to the Facebook group justwise warned me against on several occasions. I sincerely apologize and accept responsibility for my actions which were not deliberate.

I left the hotel around 5AM with my dad after a brief shower. I had to leave that early for my appointment at 630AM because I did not bring the right specification of passport from home to the hotel the previous night. I got to the consulate and had to ‘shell out’ 1500 naira for a very terrible photo. After several checks, at least three, we were ushered into the building for the biometrics. The lady who took my data was so nasty and kept shouting instructions at people, myself included. I proceeded to join the queue, I was among the first ten people on the rather long queue. The consulate officers sounded quite convivial. A smart young man with think ‘Igbo’ accent going to the UM College Park for MS in Metallurgy was approved as well as a plumpy lady too. The College Park guy applied to just a school but still got his visa. Another woman with a walking defect who was going to see her son who has been in the US since 2006 was approved too.

It was my turn, window 4, some minutes to 8, white guy with some extra build.
VO: Good morning. Pass me your documents please.
Me: Morning, how you doing today? (With a slight smile)
VO: So tell me about your program
Me: I am going to Kansas State University to pursue a PhD degree in computer science.
VO: What will your course work involve?
Me: I will be taking advanced computer science courses in order to satisfy the breadth requirements that will qualify me to become a doctoral candidate in the first two semesters. I will also take a research preliminary exam to satisfy this condition.
VO: So tell me about your assistantship.
Me: This is one of the most compelling reasons for choosing K-State. I get to tutor undergraduate students a fundamental Computer course during teaching hours, grade scripts and proctor tests which will prepare me for a career in academics.
VO: I will be approving your visa.
He gave me a white paper, circled a location to pick it up and talked about the educationUSA orientation on the 26th of July and gave me a flyer to accompany it.

To future applicants:
1. Listen to the gurus. But do your own findings please. If you are planning for next fall, start searching for schools now. Mail professors after you have read their journals and find anything interesting, mail grad students, be proactive and dedicated. Many will not reply you but you will learn a lot during the process.
2. Spread your risks. Ranked, moderate, safe schools. I applied to 8, three good ones and five safe. Be realistic with your ambitions. The expenses pile up real quick and you don’t want to do this thing twice.
3. Study hard for your standardized tests. If you are an engineering student, a 160 should be your target on the quant section of the GRE.
4. Have a LinkedIn account and edit your resume well. Let it suit your application for grad school. Nobody cares if you sold gala in front of Eko hotel. Accentuate your professional skills and experience.
5. Your SOP is the most important. Maybe I am exaggerating, but not too much. After GPA, SOP is the second most important material in my opinion. Let many people read it and critique it.
6. Apply early but do not rush them. I completed all my applications before the end of October last year. If you have 4.0/5.0 and GRE of 320 at least, apply to PhD programs. There is funding priority for students accepted into PhD programs.
7. Be hopeful. If you are religious, hold on to it and be hopeful.

Yeah its in lekki, just drop at lekki phase one bus stop, climb the pedestrian bridge and enter forte oil, turn to your left on the road at the back of forte oil, the building is the last by the right. Its front is painted grey I think.
masagoody:

sorry for the mix up. canton concourse is not in VI. it is in lekki. to be on the safe side, ask questions before you enter any bus and tell the driver or conductor that you are going to lekki. they will surely direct you. you can also tell them to stop you at the bus stop close to SHOPRITE. THE FORTE OIL filling station is very close to it.
