At a time in Nigeria, every last Saturday was earmarked for environmental sanitation. Movements were hindered and travellers had to travel either very early or get to a point and wait till the exercise was over. It was diligently kept and everyone or at least most people participated. Right now while some states are observing environmental sanitation, other states have free movement and no one comes out to clean their environment. In other to know what to recommend we have to know which practise works? 1. Which states are cleaner? A. The states that still observe it B. The states that do not C. None 2. How else can we better manage waste? A. By recycling B. By destroying, burning and having dump sites C. By turning waste to wealth 3. How do we make public sanitation compulsory in markets, schools, on streets? A. Daily without fine B. Weekly with LGA support C. Monthly with punishment 4. How do we imbibe good environmental practices among youngsters? A. Create a reward system B. Sponsor Conservation clubs C. I don't know why we incite and poke at others for fun. Op this thread will not be fun when it is hijacked by tribalism which is already a plague on this forum. Games like truth or dare and the likes seem like fun, but they are indeed devilish and can end in shame. Remember Chrisland School? Also remember Herod and Herodias daughter? She danced so well that the king gave her a blank cheque, which resulted in the death of a man. Jerry the mouse at several times just decided to poke at Tom the cat, but whenever it backfired, people would say Tom was a bully. Some things are not just for fun, even sarcasm to a large extent! Fun and enjoyment should be wholesome. Evil is not for any particular state, it cuts across - land grabbing, theft, rituals, fornication, incest, murder, cheating, prostitution, riots, laziness, political thuggery, bank robbery, rustling and all, can be found anywhere. Let's celebrate ourselves here in Nigeria. Remember they are many non Nigerians here on nairaland. We who are Nigerians must be good ambassadors no matter how badly the country and its leaders have failed us. I hereby declare peace and ask that we do not promote violence or mischief.

In some minutes time the Super Eagles would be playing against the Pharaohs of Egypt. May the better team. Considering that the year is still young and GOALS are still being formed. Let's take a look at someone wrote and shared- SIX LEADERSHIP PRINCIPLES TO LEARN FROM AN EAGLE IN 2022 1. Eagles fly Alone and at High Altitudes. They don't fly with sparrows, ravens, and other small birds. MEANING- Stay away from narrow-minded people, those that bring people down. Eagle flies with Eagles. Keep good company. 2. Eagles have an Accurate Vision. They have the ability to focus on something as far as 5km away. No matter the obstacles, the eagle will not move his focus from the prey until he grabs it. MEANING- Have a vision and remain focused no matter what the obstacles and you will succeed. 3. Eagles do not Eat Dead things. They Feed only on Fresh Prey. MEANING- Do not rely on your past success, keep looking for new frontiers to conquer. Leave your past where it belongs, in the past. 4. Eagles Love the Storm. When clouds gather, the eagle gets excited, the eagle uses the storms wind to lift itself higher. Once it finds the wind of the storm, the eagle uses the raging storm to lift itself above the clouds. This gives the eagle an opportunity to glide and rest its wings. In the meantime, all the other birds hide in the branches and leaves of the tree. MEANING- Face your challenges head on knowing that these will make you emerge stronger and better than you were. We can use the storms of life to rise to greater heights. Achievers are not afraid to rise to greater heights. Achievers are not afraid of challenges, rather they relish them and use them profitably. 5. Eagles Prepare for Training; They remove the feathers and soft grass in the nest so that the young ones get uncomfortable in preparation for flying and eventually flies when it becomes unbearable to stay in the nest. MEANING- Don't be lazy in your Comfort Zone, but utilise familiar areas for more growth and progress. 6. When the Eagle Grows Old, His feathers becomes weak and cannot take him as fast and as high as it should. This makes him weak and could make him die. So he retires to a place far away in the mountains. While there, he plucks out the weak feathers on his body and breaks its beaks and claws against the rocks until he is completely bare; a very bloody and painful process. Then he stays in this hiding place until he has grown new feathers, new beaks and claws and then he comes out flying higher than before. MEANING- We occasionally need to shed off old habit no matter how difficult, things that burden us or add no value to our lives should be let go of. NEVER GIVE UP I've had the opportunity to see eagles in a number of Zoos I've visited and also see them up close by my window, from my window and in the sky. They are magnificent and regal. I do hope the Super Eagles do well today and I do hope the symbolic use of the Eagle on the Nigerian Coat of Arms reflect on the state of the nation.
