I don't know why we incite and poke at others for fun. Op this thread will not be fun when it is hijacked by tribalism which is already a plague on this forum. Games like truth or dare and the likes seem like fun, but they are indeed devilish and can end in shame. Remember Chrisland School? Also remember Herod and Herodias daughter? She danced so well that the king gave her a blank cheque, which resulted in the death of a man. Jerry the mouse at several times just decided to poke at Tom the cat, but whenever it backfired, people would say Tom was a bully. Some things are not just for fun, even sarcasm to a large extent! Fun and enjoyment should be wholesome. Evil is not for any particular state, it cuts across - land grabbing, theft, rituals, fornication, incest, murder, cheating, prostitution, riots, laziness, political thuggery, bank robbery, rustling and all, can be found anywhere. Let's celebrate ourselves here in Nigeria. Remember they are many non Nigerians here on nairaland. We who are Nigerians must be good ambassadors no matter how badly the country and its leaders have failed us. I hereby declare peace and ask that we do not promote violence or mischief.

Friends and beloved of God, be careful never to commend, condone or accept what is wrong as right because everyone or majority of the people are doing it. Adultery is a sin and will be always. Adultery is also a crime. Fornication is a sin. Fornication is a crime against the body. There is no wisdom in a spouse encouraging or accepting infedilty on the side of the other. In many African cultures it leads to death and bad luck and taboos. In the Bible it makes mockery of the body of Christ because our bodies are the Temples of the Holy Spirit and not vessels for dishonour. Marriage is sacred and honourable. In some minutes time the Super Eagles would be playing against the Pharaohs of Egypt. May the better team. Considering that the year is still young and GOALS are still being formed. Let's take a look at someone wrote and shared- SIX LEADERSHIP PRINCIPLES TO LEARN FROM AN EAGLE IN 2022 1. Eagles fly Alone and at High Altitudes. They don't fly with sparrows, ravens, and other small birds. MEANING- Stay away from narrow-minded people, those that bring people down. Eagle flies with Eagles. Keep good company. 2. Eagles have an Accurate Vision. They have the ability to focus on something as far as 5km away. No matter the obstacles, the eagle will not move his focus from the prey until he grabs it. MEANING- Have a vision and remain focused no matter what the obstacles and you will succeed. 3. Eagles do not Eat Dead things. They Feed only on Fresh Prey. MEANING- Do not rely on your past success, keep looking for new frontiers to conquer. Leave your past where it belongs, in the past. 4. Eagles Love the Storm. When clouds gather, the eagle gets excited, the eagle uses the storms wind to lift itself higher. Once it finds the wind of the storm, the eagle uses the raging storm to lift itself above the clouds. This gives the eagle an opportunity to glide and rest its wings. In the meantime, all the other birds hide in the branches and leaves of the tree. MEANING- Face your challenges head on knowing that these will make you emerge stronger and better than you were. We can use the storms of life to rise to greater heights. Achievers are not afraid to rise to greater heights. Achievers are not afraid of challenges, rather they relish them and use them profitably. 5. Eagles Prepare for Training; They remove the feathers and soft grass in the nest so that the young ones get uncomfortable in preparation for flying and eventually flies when it becomes unbearable to stay in the nest. MEANING- Don't be lazy in your Comfort Zone, but utilise familiar areas for more growth and progress. 6. When the Eagle Grows Old, His feathers becomes weak and cannot take him as fast and as high as it should. This makes him weak and could make him die. So he retires to a place far away in the mountains. While there, he plucks out the weak feathers on his body and breaks its beaks and claws against the rocks until he is completely bare; a very bloody and painful process. Then he stays in this hiding place until he has grown new feathers, new beaks and claws and then he comes out flying higher than before. MEANING- We occasionally need to shed off old habit no matter how difficult, things that burden us or add no value to our lives should be let go of. NEVER GIVE UP I've had the opportunity to see eagles in a number of Zoos I've visited and also see them up close by my window, from my window and in the sky. They are magnificent and regal. I do hope the Super Eagles do well today and I do hope the symbolic use of the Eagle on the Nigerian Coat of Arms reflect on the state of the nation. Some are drawn to this resolution due to the hardship and bad news that emanated all through last year from various quarters or on the flip side as a result of the blessings, mercies and graces that followed them all through 2021. While others desire to draw closer to God because it is the right thing to do. Hello friends, Let's not get discouraged from producing and distributi9tracts please. If you are iffered a traft please accept, when you receive it, read it and feel free to either keep it or pass it to another person. Please don't throw it away or give it back to who gave you, why? 1. When you throw it away, you deny someone else from benefitting from its message and you was really the resources of those who paid for its production. 2. The person who gave you already has a copy and has read it. He or she no longer needs the copy that has been given you, nut that you pass it on to another beneficiary. 3. There is never a time you don't gain or learn something from a tract. Also feel free and reply, reach out and contact those who produced the tract. Why? 1. The message if the tract may require follow up for you. 2. You can encourage them to produce and distribute more. 3. You can be a distributor, writer and financial sponsor for more production. 4. We will be having a viewing of selected movies on Human Trafficking at our Centre during our weekly film-show by 4pm. While we dealt with the theme of Social Injustice, annually designated in the month of February, we are focusing strictly on the trafficking in persons in July. We are discussing the injustices, negativity and adverse effect it has on social development. While many don't see human trafficking like old time slavery, we beg to differ, for it is. It is a problem not just in Africa but the whole world. TLF stands against Trafficking in persons. We say, let's work to end it totally so that it does not evolve into something worse. We watch The Roots, Uncle Tom's Cabin among several movies that depict the horrors of old time slavery. But what do we do so that such horrible past is not repeated in this generation and others to come? Now we have "modern" slavery and even though many are not terming it Trans-Atlantic Slave Trade, it has all the features of old time slavery. Do you know that people are still being captured, auctioned and used as slaves? TLF 1 Like

I'd the privilege to go to Calabar, where I attended a viewing of how humans were captured and taken as slaves. That point in Calabar was one out of many points of no return where humans were loaded in ships and transported across the Atlantic. On reaching the New found land, they were auctioned and used as "tools" under terrible conditions. TLF 1 Like

Where did it all begin? Slavery Slave trade Old time slave trade was inhuman, wicked and against every moral code. People were not only used as slaves but were maltreated, seen as sub-human and sometimes killed. TLF 1 Like 1 Share

Today we mark Pentecost Sunday. On the day of Pentecost the Holy Spirit came upon man and he began to communicate in several languages about the glory of God. Remember the people who tried to build the tower of Babel in their pride they wanted to reach God. But by Pentecost we now know that it is God Who even wants us to reach Him and be with Him. God does not want anything to separate us from His love. He doesn't want us to brag in ourselves as being our own saviours. He wants us to glorify Him in that it was He Who love us first, even in our sins, taught us to love, redeemed and saved us and has given us a new heart and tongue and speech. Since out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks, we can now express the new lives Jesus bought for us with His blood. As born again, Spirit filled children of God, we can now speak life, truth, love, mercy, justice, peace, grace and proclaim the Word of God, that Jesus is the Son of God. No man can say Jesus is the Son of God except by the Holy Spirit, do you believe? No man who uses his mouth to praise, bless, worship God and make testimonies is allowed to slander, curse, insult, abuse, seduce, deceive, lie, profane, blaspheme, bear false witness or murder with the tongue. The tongue that little member like the rudder of the ship which dictates and directs it's movement and course, must be well harnessed if not the ship will go into the Bermuda triangle, the iceberg, the shallow waters, the typhoon or the enemy territory, to Satan himself! But a well controlled rudder in a ship will take the entire crew and passengers safely to their destination. The well controlled tongue will speak in new languages that will produce life and life bearing fruits, and lead to life and not death and destruction. The tongue to will cause life and not death, the tongue that will raise the dead, heal the sick and bring joy and peace. On this day as we hear speaking of tongues, heavenly languages, tongues of angels, tongues that not even the kingdom of darkness can understand, tongues that man cannot understand and may scorn, tongues that people doubt as coming from the Holy Spirt, as we speak in several earthly languages- Fulfude, Ibo, Bini, Hausa, Izon, Yoruba, Efik, Ogbia, Ibibio, Urhobo, Etsako, Itsekiri, Owan, Isoko, Esan, Zulu, Swahili, Arabic, Spanish, Portuguese, English, French, German, Dutch, Latin, Mandarin, Japanese, Hindu and Hebrew, and indeed others, LET US REJOICE and GLORIFY GOD. Isn't God worthy of praise and glory? Yes He is. No pride of Babel, no dumbness of Zacharias, no affliction of Job, no fear of Esther, no sin of David, no anger of Moses, no misfortune of Naomi, and no pain of Mary can stop the praise of God in Jesus name, amen, hallelujah #May #WalkWithUs #Communicate |
