3 May annually is World Press Freedom Day (this was reached by UNESCO at their 26 C/Resolution 4.3). Do we have press freedom in Nigeria in particular and the world in general? Are the press still the 4th estate after the executive, legislative and judicial arms? Are press people now paid goans for the highest bidders in lying, spreading fake news or tarnishing images, policies and virtues? Do you have any friend in the Press? Kindly share with us. #May #Communication #WalkWithUs TLF

Our Theme for May- Light aka Communication It's our month of light aka communication. Communication brings awareness, which brings light to a dark area of our world we do not yet concern ourselves with, and this causes an action plan to be made and executed. We urge us in love to pick one of the above issues under our theme for the month and help share messages, videos, pictures and matters for discussion and action plans under any of the issues. Communication is key to human existence. Remember the tower of Babel? But more so remember the day of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit was poured out on all who were in Jerusalem and they spoke in various tongues. Communicate and listen to communicate. Don't be a harbinger of Fake News. #May #Communication #WalkWithUs TLF

This can only happen in a society of compassion. Compassion first looks for the solution to the problem before or without looking at the person/animal/place or thing with the problem. We long for a society that is more- Sensible Sensitive and Loving SSL... Happy May

As we round off our theme for this month #March #Environment let us remember that when we keep our environment our environment will keep us. Having experienced ebola and sars many did not learn, imbibe or continue the good hygienic habits that saw us through those trying times. Many did not see the need to continue to care for their environments by clearing the bushes, not littering the road and compounds with litter, not peeing or defecating just anywhere, not polluting the canals, streams and other water bodies, planting more trees and flowers, not killing animals indiscriminately as the life pyramid helps balance the ecosystem- the rats, dogs, cats, squirrels and even hyenas, antelops and monkeys. Indiscriminately is the key word You cannot say you won't ease yourself when there is no toilet or convenient place. You cannot say you won't cut a tree when you need to use wood. You cannot say you won't kill animals and eat meat. You cannot say you won't wash clothes when you stay by a river. But when we live in moderation we will keep the environment for ourselves and generations to come. As we look forward to the end of this trying time of covid19 let us not forget the lessons learnt, let's live better and have a better mindset to life, living and the environment and health system. Be concerned about the environment, money is not everything, your life is more important. Walk with us- @Tlovefoundation tinalovefoundation@gmail.com www.tinalovefoundation..com

3rd of March is World Wildlife Day, It is a UN day set aside to bring awareness on the need to preserve our wildlife #March #Environment #WalkWithUs

Our thematic issue for this month is Environment. What we have done in TLF is to harmonise the different United Nations' days from each month that talk about issues related to the Environment and place under a theme for each month. In this month we would see how advocating for the Environment can help reawaken our responsibilities towards the creation God commanded man to cater for. Consider that the 11th of December is International Mountain Day which is one aspect of our environment. Also note that 3rd of March is World Wildlife Day, 21st of March is International Day of Forests and 17th of June is World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought. The relationship between forests reserves and desertification cannot be over debated. With regards aspects of our environment concerned with water 22nd of March is World Water Day, 5th of June is International Day for the Fight against Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated Fishing and 8th of June is World Oceans Day. Other days that are relevant in safeguarding our environment that are directly related to our environment also include the 29th of August which is International Day against Nuclear Tests and 23rd of March which is World Meteorological Day. The major day with regards of theme however is 5th of June is World Environment Day. Walk with us and let us take this issue of the Environment theme of the month of TLF very seriously as the earth sits on nature. We urge us in love to pick one of the issues under our theme for the month and help share messages, videos, pictures and matters for discussion and development of action plans under any of the issues. Let's try and review the need preserve our Environment and the ideal of stewardship which God says in His Word with regards the creation of humans, and let’s see how it improves acts of charity and social development. #March #Environment #WalkWithUs Thanks God loves us all. Say no to all forms of violence TLF #October #Non-Violence aka Girls to Women #JoinUs
|
Theme Our thematic issues for this month is #Non-Violence aka Girls to Women The issue of violence can spread from domestic issues such as child and spousal violence in the family unit to world issues on violence such as terrorism. But we must realise that both at the domestic level and world level, the child, especially the female child, and women are mostly the victims on the receiving end of all such violence. Violence cuts across several factors. In this month however, as we focus on violence, the prevention thereof and standing against therein, we want to also agitate for the celebration, protection and care of the girl child and women. Thanks God loves us all. #October #Non-Violence aka Girls to Women #JoinUs TLF

Month Review This month we looked at sub-issues under the theme Learning a.k.a. Literacy! Learning entails both formal and informal trainings and tutelage. It involves the student and the teacher. The United Nations enjoins nations to take seriously the issue of Learning and Literacy as it declared 8th September yearly as International Literacy Day every year to sensitise the public on the issue. Remember in May we dealt with the theme of Communication. Just as communication is important to impact knowledge, we acknowledge that English language has been used in Nigeria as a means of learning. We also celebrate our individual languages and recognise that learning and literacy is also important with our languages. While we are to obey our teachers, we are not expected to allow them or seniors in school to lead us astray or teach us nonsense! When Jesus is in our learning we will be humble and useful. When people use their learning and literacy to oppress, device bombs, evil and brag, then you’ll know that they have missed it. As Christians we know God is our Father, for our success in having godly wisdom and knowledge, we must fear God, give Him glory and allow Jesus into our minds and understanding solely. Jesus Christ came to show us the example of love in learning when He sat at age 12 with elders in His Father’s house and by Him we shall not perish for we do not lack knowledge. #September #Learning

We are watching |
#September #Learning #JoinUs It's not enough for us to say God forbid that our children will not attend deplorable schools. What about those who can't afford better schools for their children or those who don't have parents? Let's be helpful and help address the issue of poor standard of education in Nigeria.
