I did upfront medical

Abacino007:
Did you do upfront medical or you were sent mail to do so?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by tobyharwe(m):
I applied April 28, successfully linked my app today(after several trials) and got a status list exactly as in the screenshot posted by someone (attached below). I couldn't access the final decision tho and no messages have been sent to me yet. Don't knw if I should treat this as a delay.....so I can just move on.

Kindly explain what this means in straight forward terms.

Thanks

TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by tobyharwe(m): 2:51pm On Jun 07, 2017
If you go the online path you get to keep your documents, so if denied you can use them to reapply,

Its easier for the v.o to navigate through your app as it all in the system, no paper Mumbo-Jumbo.

You also get to keep your passport to yourself through the period your app is being reviewed until you are asked to submit it

If you work, you also don't need to sneak out of your workplace or get a permit to leave work premises. You simply do it yourself on the system.

Disadvantages(which has been surmounted times without number)
You may find it difficult to compress your docs within specified mb limit
You may find it difficult to make visa payment if you don't v a dorm acc.
You may have to wait a while to be called up for biometric as being experienced recently.

If you go the paper route;
In my opinion, you will find it easy and straight forward. No online technicality is involved

Note: whether online or paper, no peculiarities are involved, everyone gets a fair and equal chance. Time to review app is also the same, so here, machines don't make work faster or easier.

And I got this knowledge by reading through this forum...reference to evry1who has contributed here.

Have I missed it? Do you have a contrary opinion, pls feel free.

phemmzy96:
Gud day people!
I pray for all that u will testify of success.

Pls I av a question,
# which is d best, easier and preferable method of apply for study visa?
Online or by paper?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by tobyharwe(m): 8:59am On Jun 06, 2017
For those who wish to link their paper apps online....This is a step by step approach; i ve asked how to do this severally but no one cared to answer...here it is.

(1) Go to this below listed link
http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/e-services/mycic.asp
(2) Click on continue to Gckey
(3) If You've already account created, login with your Username and Password otherwise Click on Sign up to go on next page and create your username, password and security questions.
(4) After creating my CIC account, click link application to this account.
(5) Then select category as Temporary residence and subcategory as Study Permit and extension.
(6) Then select Family name, given name and date of birth option.
(7) Fill your family name(surname), given name and date of birth as per Passport or Application form.
(8.) Next in applicant personal info panel fill Passport information only and DO NOT FILL CITY AND COUNTRY OF BIRTH.
(9) Enter your course start date given on your offer letter exact same as that.
(10) Enter course end date as on offer letter only month and year is given so enter that only don't select the date.
(11) Enter your DLI no. same as given on the offer letter.
(12) Next search for your application.
(13) Your application will be found and can be linked.
(14) You can get real time updates on your paper application online.

I was getting errors and tried the same with mine and it worked so hopefully it ll work for everyone.

Note : In 24 hours you can try only 5 times to link your application and if you exceed that then you have to wait for 24 hours, so be careful about that.

Cheers and Good Luck.

Google 'notary publics in Abuja', you will find a list of them, call to check for their availability and the cost of notarizing your docs before visiting their addresses. I did mine 5k per doc though someone mentioned here that s/he did it 2k each.

I have thought deeply on how I can explain to the vo that I will be leaving Canada after my education without lying, but the only idea that came to me is for me to declare in a written document that I will leave at the end of my education and to notarize or swear an affidavit for it.

Who thinks this will work?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by tobyharwe(m): 8:06am On Apr 27, 2017
A Copy of c of o, deeds ofassignment and may b plan should suffice

Hello gurus in the house, I have a bit of an issue that I'd like to clarify. I am applying for a visit visa, but the help i need cuts across. So, I have three landed properties that I want to declare in my application for home ties. One of the property is a completed 5 bedroom bungalow with a 2 bedroom boys quarters under construction at the back of it. The second property is a three bedroom bungalow at roofing level. The third is an undeveloped land. The issue is, I have R of O for all the properties, but how will the vo know that 2 of the properties are worth more than just a land? Do I need to take pictures of the sites (someone said pictures are no longer allowed) or the information on the structures erected on the lands are not necessary? Please those who have submitted landed documents, how did you do it?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by tobyharwe(m): 7:57am On Apr 27, 2017
There are specified hospitals. Search CIC website for designated hospitals address. You can best use IOM coz it cheaper in abuja.

emekavictoreze:
Thank you Sir
But when it comes to the medical tests, are there specified hospitals we should go or are my to use any hospital?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by tobyharwe(m): 5:15pm On Apr 26, 2017
Wes is more expensive and cheaper. It took me over 5month to get assessment from icas,
It is stated on icas website that they don't do rush services.

emmsana:
I want to make preparation for my documents and transcript assessment, which one is better and faster Ontario college gave me 2 option.
International Credentials assessment service of Canada (ICAS)
or
world Educational Services (WES)

PLS which is better, faster and cheaper.
Thanks

There is a vfs office at silverbird, 2nd floor(beside the Chinese restaurant). Just take a drop to silverbird n save yourself of uneccesary wahala, cabs don't follow the route so you have to pretty much take a drop.

emekavictoreze:
Hello house,
Sorry if I'm digressing from any previous discussion you were having,
I travelled to Abuja for BIOMETRIC CAPTURE (FINGERPRINT AND PHOTOGRAPH)

If you are in Abuja, go to IOM in Wuse 2, it is 40,200 naira. I think that is the cheapest in Abuja. You can check their website for address and account number.

Guys, please how much does upfront medical cost?
TravelRe: Canadian Student Visa Thread Part 12 by tobyharwe(m): 3:48pm On Mar 18, 2017
Thanks Austin

Austinpee4:
1.Any other identification document of your sponsor is fine.

2.Most CIC approved hospital will require that you book an appointment ahead either through a call or email.

3.Both routes are advisable. Online was introduced for just convenience. Both are subject to the same review and processing time.

4.From the information here, You too can become experienced. If you make out time to read carefully, you can fully review your application yourself. Most things and area you need to put in place have been and still being discussed here.

2) do I have to book for upfront medicals or do I just visit the designated medical practitioner at working hours?

3) which route is most adviceable, paper/online?

4) Can I get an experienced person to help review my app before submission?
