What really baffles me about all these northerners and their news headline is that most cases relating to people (dead/alive) are always given in nearest hundred....you hardly see something like 529, 71, 22, 688 etc...its always 100, 500 300, 800 etc. undecided just saying

DID YOU SCORE BELOW YOUR POST-UTME CUTOFF MARK? Most people put all effort in order have good result in jamb. But unfortunately, they weren't able to due to one reason or the other. If you're among this set of individuals, there's no need to worry for there are universities that can still offer admissions even to those who did not write jamb...

Incessantly, motorcycle horns hooted. The
unpleasant sound went into my
ears as though it was end time. I couldn't bear it
anymore, so I stood up,
looked through my window to see what's
happening. "Today is election day!"
They all clamoured, standing on their bike,
becoming a nuisance to the
community. Looking at this set of individuals who
could hardly provide
three-square meals for their family, I felt
devastated. I told myself I
needed to talk to these people. So I decided to
take the bull by its horn.
I thought of how to reach out to this set of
individuals, and talk some
sense into their head.
You do not necessarily have to collide with
political thugs in order to get
your voice heard, neither do you need to go to the
pulling units with
weapons of any kind in order to strike the change
you want to see. After
all, the novelist J. M Barne once observed thus:
The life of every man is a diary
in which he means to write one
story and write another; and his
humblest hour is when he com-
pares the volume as it is with
what he vowed to make it.
Be careful of the choices you make—they either
make or break you.
Still looking through my window, trying to figure
out what really triggered
their aggressiveness, suddenly, one of the
motorcyclists alighted from his
bike to address his followers. And he said, "make
we go block road, today
na today!" I shook my head and wondered:
How much were these motorcyclist paid to
engage
in electoral violence?
Do they really care to know what will happen if
they die today?
Does it truly worth it?
All these thoughts and questions exhausted me
emotionally. To try to bounce
back, I switched on my phone in order to surf the
Internet. The news –
“ballot boxes have been stolen in Port Harcourt –
making the headlines
stunned me as though I was struck by a
lightening. And I asked, "Is this
the way forward?"
I dream of a Nigeria where her citizens would not
only see democracy in its
ordinary sense, but to also conceptualise
democracy as a civilised way of
thinking.
You clamour for a better Nigeria yet you ignite
electoral violence to cause
your fellow citizens pains. Most Nigerian
politicians would always say
together we can build a better Nigeria which I do
not really agree with.
If
you truly want a change as a Nigerian, you must
first be the change you
want to see. You must change your views as
regards political practices in
Nigeria.
It is said "responsibility is the most important
ability that a person can
posses."
Take responsibility for your actions, money can't
buy life. Electoral
violence is often ignited by greed which in turn
leads to hatred.

IF YOU WANT A BETTER NIGERIA, BE THE CHANGE
YOU WANT TO SEE.

Sports / Barcelona's Lionel Messi Just Followed Chelsea FC On Instagram. by tochiofficial(m): 10:59pm On Jan 05, 2015
Lionel Messi follows Chelsea on Instagram on day
he doesn't show for training
Barcelona forward follows Premier League giants
on day he fails to turn up for training.
Lionel Messi has caused a minor internet
earthquake by following Chelsea and some of their
players on Instagram.
On a crazy day for Barcelona – with director of
football Andoni Zubizarreta being sacked and
assistant Carles Puyol resigning – the Catalan
giants will now be forced to deal with renewed
speculation about their best player.
[PUYOL RESIGNS AS CAMP NOU CHAOS
CONTINUES]
Rumours of Messi’s discontent have been swirling
around on Monday after Mundo Deportivo
reported he had had a falling out with coach Luis
Enrique.

Messi is believed to have taken offence at Enrique
giving a decision against his team in five-a-side
training match leading to a stand-off between the
two men.
We're just going to repeat that key phrase, in
block capitals and bold and italics too, because
it's simply so ridiculous: IN A FIVE-A-SIDE
TRAINING MATCH.
Messi was then benched for the defeat to David
Moyes’ Real Sociedad on Sunday before failing to
turn up for training on Monday morning,
apparently due to a dicky tummy.
Now, Early Doors is aware that Messi follows lots
of people on Instagram – 97 to be precise,
including Manchester City and Beyonce.
But the timing of his move to follow Chelsea, as
well as defender Filipe Luis and goalkeeper
Thibaut Courtois, is rather suspicious.
Either it’s a complete coincidence and Messi
wanted to take his mind off his troublesome
bowels by enjoying the social media offering of
the West London club, or it was designed to get
us all talking about his future.
It was even claimed that Messi's other half,
Antonella, had also started following Chelsea on
Twitter - a double whammy for Barcelona.
Early Doors isn't able to corroborate the claim
and establish whether the account is genuine, but
either way, momentum is certainly building
behind hopes that Messi may soon be coming to
the Premier League.

Politics / Focus On Real Campaign - Pdptells APC, Says APC Plans Fakepoll Rating For Buhari by tochiofficial(m): 9:55pm On Jan 05, 2015
The Peoples Democratic Party has told the All
Progressives Congress and its Presidential
candidate, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), to
focus on real campaign and try to win
followers genuinely.
PDP National Publicity Secretary, Mr Olisa
Metuh, in a statement in Abuja on Monday
said “the APC ‘change agenda’ should be
based on issues and not on change of
dressing and religious gathering.
“This election is not about political window-
dressing and dramatizing. What will count is
record of performance and antecedents, in
which President Jonathan stands taller than
Buhari.
“It is therefore not surprising that the APC and
its Presidential candidate will resort to
organizing a kangaroo opinion rating in a
failed attempt to cover up their inadequacies
and manipulate public perception in their
favour.
He said the APC poll had been designed in
such a way to make the Nigerian public
believe that 75 percent of the voting
population is in support of Buhari ahead of the
February 14 Presidential election.
Metuh alleged that part of the strategy was a
disguised mobile phone balloting application
being circulated by the APC, whereby a
curious click elicits a thank-you message from
them and automatically register the
unsuspecting phone user as having voted in
support of Buhari.
He urged Nigerians to be wary of this plot to
deceive the public and truncate our
democratic process.
