I want to quickly apologize for the lack of updates. I'm going through a really difficult time in my life. The last quarter of 2019 was really difficult for me. 2019 began well for me but ended up been of the worst years of my life. My friend is still in coma, my dad is sick and was hospitalized just before Christmas, I'm depressed and increasingly lacking in self motivation. I really don't want to go into details but I hope there is light at the end of the tunnel because I'm tired of everything. Forget about the smiles in videos and pics, your boy is going through hell.

I really wish I could write more but my mind is blank cos I'm too sad and depressed to articulate my thoughts and put my feelings in writing.

I'm trying to cheer up and be more positive and I hope 2020 will be a good year for me and for each and everyone of you reading this.

About my Christmas,I traveled to Moscow with my friends, I haven't been to Moscow in over a year so I decided to visit with my friends and also shoot a video in Red Square for my channel.
My Uni's official holiday started on the 27th and will last for one week. Russian's celebrate their Christmas on the 8th of January, so the 25th of December was like every other day. We had exams and people went to work as usual. The biggest celebration for Russians is New Year, lots of fireworks and fancy decorations all through the city. I spent 3 days in Moscow and returned to Saint Petersburg on the 30th.

On New Year's Eve, my friend's family invited me for dinner and we had dinner with his parents, GrandMa and some other relatives and ushered in the New Year together. It was a really wonderful experience, and afterwards we went to a Bar in the city center to dance and celebrate New Year.

There was a video I shot where I asked Russians to mention 10 African countries they know and win $100 it's funny cos I actually didn't have $100 to give them cos I wrongly assumed no one will answer correctly lmao omo the guy that won wanted to fight me sha but we later reached an agreement and I bought him coffee instead lol.

Hello toch if I am been accepted into a bachelor's degree program for a particular course is it the tuition fee for that particular course I will pay or for the preparatory course,please ��� explain further I don't understand..

If the course is in English then you don't have to do the preparatory program but if it's in Russian language then you have to do the compulsory preparatory program in which case, you will have to pay tuition for that preparatory program and after successfully completion of the program, you will proceed with your BSc and pay the normal tuition fee for your Bachelors program.

The Msc scholarship is straightforward. You don't have to do anything on your part just submit your BSc certificate and they'll evaluate and if you graduated with a good GPA you'll get the scholarship. Earlier this year, some of my friends were denied entry at the airport in St. Petersburg despite having evidence of their appointments, accomodation etc. No questions asked, they were simply deported. This happened with about 5 different people on 5 different flights spread across weeks. The only constant thing was they were the only Nigerian/Black on the flight.

Whereas others that came into the country via Moscow had no such problem.

Would you advice another person to still fly directly to St. Petersburg now ?

I'm really sorry to hear this. I really feel bad for them cos that is one painful and sad thing to experience. But the situation is actually common, I mean stopping first time travelers into Russia till they have their hosts call the airport.

I remember my first time, I flew in from Moscow and myself and 20 other people from different nationalities were detained for hours. Only thing we had in common was that it was our first time in Russia. They let other black students who have been in Russia before in without question and I had to wait for hours before they were able to reach my University to confirm they were expecting me. I wasn't alone in this cos they made the other foreign students from Brazil, India, Italy and so on. They made us all wait till our University called to claim us.

So bottom line, for students Universities always asks first time travelers to Russia to inform them of their arrival date and time so they can call the airport when they arrive and release them. Russia is filled with so many Bureaucracies.

I'm not sure if your friends were on student or tourist visa cos their school should have taking care of things. But to answer your question I think it's the same in Moscow as long as you're a first time visitor, they will hold you till they call and confirm from your host (They usually don't do this in your presence) so maybe they tried contacting your friends host and they could not be reached.

The past month has been filled with so much gloom and I honestly don't have the mental strength to write. I hate this feeling and I hope everything will be fine soon so I can return to been my normal cheerful self.

So we met up at a cozy coffee shop to interview her dad and then I took some portraits of him.

Guys I'm so sorry for the lack of updates. The past month has been the most difficult and most traumatizing for me since I came to Russia. My friend and classmate had an accident in October and has been in coma for one month now. She's an only Child, and her parents are devastated.

The past few weeks has been the saddest and most depressing for me because of that and other issues. Guys please a little prayer for my friend please.

Hi guys, hope everyone is having a good week? I just remembered I didn't update you guys on how things went with V the new girl I told you guys I met.

I've ended things with her because I found out she lied to me. Well, she didn't technically lie to me but she withheld vital information from me. When we met, she told me she was single, which was technically true, but what she failed to tell me was that she was previously married.

She is currently 25 years old but she got married very early to her high school sweetheart (She has only dated that same guy all her life) they've been together since they were 15 so they got married immediately after college. The guy is kinda rich and he is the one that bought her the apartment she currently lives in, setup her salon business etc.

They got divorced because she found out he cheated on her with his colleague. When she told me about him, I asked why she didn't tell me all these while, she said, is because she didn't think it was a big deal since it's in the past. She showed me the divorce papers because I wanted to be sure they're officially divorced.

To cut a long story, I decided to stop talking to her because the guy is still actively involved in her life. They did not have kids before the divorce and according to her they no longer have an intimate relationship but the guy is still close to she and her family and he still helps them. They also still communicate often and whenever she has any problems, the ex husband is the one that usually comes through. I think the ex husband is still in love with her so I decided to take myself out of the equation and give them a chance to maybe work things out.

The past few days have been quite stressful for me because we're currently having midterm tests and a couple of exams, plus lots of deadlines for assignments and projects are due this week. I'm currently trying to finish up a research project on the economic profile of some countries from 1980-2017. I have to collate thousands of data from IMF, WTO, UNCTAD and make sense with them using excel then do some analysis and conclusions.
I have a bunch of other research projects due this week, and mid term tests and exams. Really can't wait for Christmas to come already we will have a week holiday from Dec 31st to Jan 8 so person go fit rest small.

I also haven't had time to shoot any new videos and I need to fix that soon.

Also guys, please if anyone has a nice idea for a video or any kind of video you'd like me do please tell about it. I'm open to ideas please. I'm doing this for the sake of people back home in Nigeria and Africa as a whole so I'd really appreciate some feedback and suggestions abeg.

Btw do you guys remember that my good friend that drove me to Pushkin to shoot autumn videos? Well I haven't told you guys much about her yet but she's really super nice. Saturday night, I was busy working on my projects and I forgot to cook or buy food. I told her, and she offered to cook me pasta carbonara and she actually did and drove all the way late in the night to give to me. She's really selfless and super nice to me. Btw she also owns a hair salon in the city center and she has a lovely horse and does amateur dressage in her free time.

How are they all about my YouTube channel when each topic contains unique content like I had earlier explained to you? I just checked out the frontpage just now and I went through the usernames of people whose thread are currently on the FP. Some of them have created over 1,500 topics in the space of 2 years etc And many of them create an average of 3 topics per day in the same section with different content linking to different websites, blogs and other platforms.
But AfroRossiyaTV with 9 threads in 3 months is the one spamming the travel section and you tell me you have no vendetta against me.

Nairaland like other platforms with user generated content model puts priority on contents that engage and keep users entertained, educated etc. For example, if I travel to Sochi in Russia and take pictures of the city and also shoot a video. I will obviously create a new topic in the travel section with pictures of my trip and experience in Sochi then also posts my YouTube link with the video.

If in the following week, I traveled to Moscow or another city or just did something totally different. I will also create a new topic since the contents are different and also to keep things organised should the mods deem that particular topic good enough for front page.

Nairaland embeds videos in posts so users do not even have to leave nairaland to watch or engage with my videos so I honestly don't know what's wrong and why you keep doing this to me.

You're asking me if i'd like to pay to advertise. I understand this is a business to you and Seun and If and when I want to advertise a product or service I definitely will pay for an ad space. But in this current situation, there is no reason to ask me to buy an ad space.
Nairaland is literary a platform where users generate content, and now it is bad for me to create a unique content and include a link to my channel. Every topic on the fp literary has a source link, it could be IG, bbc, punchng, youtube etc. Why are you asking Tochi to buy ad space for doing the same thing everyone does?


It is clear that you do not have any reasons whatsoever to remove my threads because I have not broken any rules. I have taken my time to explain things and I have refuted your allegations and explained things in a simple way.

Do you mean the benefits of having a Russian citizenship? or do you want to know if he is eligible to receive Russian citizenship?

If it's the latter then it all depends on a few conditions. Unlike US and Canada, Russia does not grant automatic citizenship by birth. The process is simplified if at least one parent is a Russian citizen. I do not want to clutter my diary by constantly posting about my channel hence the second username.

Firstly, spamming is basically sending the same message indiscriminately or creating topics with the same topic indiscriminately. Something which I am not guilty of for the following reasons.

In the last 3 weeks I have only created two threads with afrorossiyatv and both threads contained original content that I created myself. The first thread contained photos and a little write up about interviews I conducted with foreign students living in Russia. You closed this thread immediately I created it ( I sent you a mod mail asking why and you didn't reply.)

Second thread was created yesterday with a totally unique and original content I created myself. Photos of Autumn foliage that I took myself and haven't shared anywhere in nairaland before. How I'm I spamming the travel section if I have only created 2 threads and 4 posts in 3 weeks with totally unique content.

The thread and posts with my afrorossiyatv is unique because they contained pictures and informative write ups about what the video is about and then my YouTube link. While the link I include on my diary is usually part of what I have been up to story and it usually is the link alone without pictures. I haven't even used my Tochiphotos to create any new threads in the last one year so I don't understand how you could say I spam the travel section.

The posts made with my afrorossiyatv username are unique and it has dedicated thread because of the possibility it might make front page if the content is interesting enough.

Justwise, I have honestly done nothing to deserve what you're doing. I am an upstanding member of this nairaland community and I have never tried to use my platform on nairaland to commit or do any illegal activities or mislead anyone for my personal gain. The travel section is a place to post about Tourism, travel. Interesting destinations within Nigeria and abroad and that's what I did by sharing pictures of something unique in a foreign destination. In the thread I created, I didn't just post my YouTube channel and ask people to leave nairaland and go to my channel. I created an informative thread with pictures of Autumn in Saint Petersburg and such posts are allowed in the travel section. I didn't advertise nor solicit anything, I only posted pics and asked people to watch the video on YouTube if they enjoy such content.

I know moderating nairaland is a tasking job and you guys are always inundated with all kinds of request but I'd really appreciate if justwise or seun will spare a minute and at least tell me what I've done wrong.

I had my birthday on Monday, there was nothing much to celebrate because I told my close friends that I wanted to be left alone on that day.
I still can't explain why, but I'm always sad and depressed on the days leading to my birthday and on my birthday itself. I always want to be left alone and all I want is for that day to just end. I don't know if any of you can relate to this but that's just what happens to me. I feel incredibly sad and depressed because I start thinking and over analyzing my life.

The highlight of my birthday is usually when my mom calls to pray for me and that's all I honestly look forward to on my birthday. My birthday for me is a day of reflection, I have a personal tradition of writing my self letters on my birthday. So I send letters (email) to my future self that will deliver to me on the next birthday and then I read the one from the previous year.
The email usually contains my plans and goals for the year ahead, my current problems and things bothering me, prayer points and things I want God to do for me etc. It's really good to know that time heals everything; nothing lasts forever and every problem you're facing shall pass. I realized this after reading the letter I sent myself from last year's birthday. All the problems and issues I had in my life then are non existent now. It's really uplifting to know that any problem I am facing right now is temporary because with time everything will be all right.

I really can't wait for this week to end already because it's been one hell of a crazy week. It's currently Autumn here in Saint Petersburg so I decided to shoot a video to show how beautiful Autumn is in Russia. The best place to get the kind of aesthetically pleasing aerial footage I want is in the outskirts of the city (Leningrad Oblast) Which is around 40km away from Saint Petersburg city. There is a little village called Pushkin which has nice foliage which means it will be picturesque in autumn. I told my friend I wanted to go there to shoot and she has a car so she agreed to drive me so I don't have to waste money on train. When we arrived Pushkin, I brought out my drone to fly but I couldn't because the village we're in is apparently A No Fly Zone so the GPS on my drone was automatically jammed and I couldn't fly there. I asked around and I found out The Catherine's Palace (Former residence of Russian Tsars) is located in that village that's why it's a no fly zone. I was so angry cos the only reason we came to that village is to get aerial footage and now we've wasted our time for nothing. We left and to make matters worse, there was heavy traffic so we spent 2 hours on the road. When we returned to Saint Petersburg, my friend was still kind enough to drive me around so I could find other places in the city center with foliage and I was able to finally get some nice footage for my channel.

The past 2 weeks have been extremely stressful for me. The new academic year started 2 weeks ago and it's been really difficult finding a perfect balance between my academic pursuits and running my videography/channel. Studying at my university is difficult. The standards are very high and they expect everyone to always give their best. Sometimes we have classes from 9am till late in the evening, and even on weekends when you're supposed to have time to do other things, the lecturers will give assignments that will take the entire weekend to finish. It's like they don't realize we have lives outside the university. Smh.


Sometimes, I get really frustrated, depressed and extremely sad cos of the fact that I didn't get my degree earlier when I was 20 or 21 years old. It would have made things much easier for me. I mean I'd have just dedicated all my time and energy on my goals and the pursuit of better economic opportunities for myself and my family. Sometimes I just want to cry out of frustration because I feel like I should be doing much more with my life than spending my mid twenties at the university for my first degree. It pains me but na condition make crayfish bend and I believe that everything in life happens for a reason and I hope that one day, the dots will connect and all of this will make sense.


My advice to any young person reading this, abeg if you have the opportunity to get your degree at 18 or 20, please do it and know you're done with it and focus on other things. Studying Masters abroad is much more flexible than Bachelors. Masters students have the option of taking their classes in the evening, which means they can work as much as they want in the day and they also have fewer classes than Bachelors students. So guys abeg get your BSc as early as you can it will really help you.


Ehen… about the girl I told you guys about.


So I met this really lovely girl her name is V. She is a beautician and owns a beauty studio in the center of Saint Petersburg. We met at the park where she usually comes to walk her dog every night. There is usually a park/kids playground in every apartment block or complex here in Saint Petersburg and every evening, people usually come out there to play or walk their dogs.


First time we met, we just got talking and walked around the park till late in the night. We didn't actually go on a proper date because we're both busy in the afternoons. So we just usually meet late in the night and have a chat at the park and walk the dog.
I genuinely like her as a person and wanted to pursue a good long lasting friendship with her instead of relationship cos I really like her personality and felt we would be good friends who can add value to each other's life. I never tried to initiate anything se3xual with her, I genuinely enjoy spending time and the good conversations so I was really relaxed and didn't try to rush into taking things to the bedroom.


But as she would later tell me afterwards, my calm and respectful demeanour was a major turn on for her and drove her crazy. She said she never expected such patience from me because from my appearance I looked like a player and as a beautiful girl she is also used to guys always trying to impress her and trying to do anything within their power to lure her into bed, but the fact that I was a complete opposite of that was surprising and hot lol. And she also told me she apparently started feeling sad because she thought she wasn't beautiful enough for me and I don't find her attractive. that's why I haven't made any suggestive moves but kept things casual and friendly. She told me all these after we had already been intimate lol.

Hi guys, I hope everyone had a great weekend?

The new academic year has started so I've been inundated with assignments as usual.

My class usually begin by 9am and sometimes last till late in the evening so it's been really difficult finding a balance between my academics and the new YouTube channel

Over the weekend, I organized a little penalty kick challenge between Russian girls and Nigerian girls. Florence and her Sister Grace were the girls that played against the Russian girls whom also study at HSE with me.

I'll give you guys a proper update about what else I've been up to soon. I Just need to settle into this new academic session cos it's honestly driving me insane.

Also, I met this lovely Russian girl, she is in her early twenties, owns a beauty salon and is doing well for herself. We're going on a date soon and I can't wait to share the details with you guys )

I just have issues wrapping my head around the visa documents required for it.

I applied to volgograd state technical university because i have a friend there but he is in for masters while i am going for bachelors. Please please and please i know this is not a visa travel section. I have searched the web and i just want to confirm the documents required.

Do i need to submit these documents?
1. Police character certificate
2. Birth certificate
3. Flight reservation
4. Health insurance

They are not in the website of the embassy but are in almost every blog and website i check.

Please help.

You'll need to submit these documents when applying for visa not to your university.

I got my police character report from Alagbon in Lagos. You can get it in Abuja too.
Insurance is compulsory too and it was from IGI in VI Lagos.
Flight reservation isn't a must but I submitted one when I applied ( I simply wet to the emirates office near the Russian embassy in Abuja and got a flight reservation for free.
