"My nickname is Eko Oni Baje, if you go to Mushin, ask of Eko Oni Baje or Kazeem my house is opposite ile ogogoro.
I love Lagos, I love Fashola, he is the best governor Nigeria has ever had. If he contests for president, I will happily vote for him but there is something he did that still pains me, he destroyed our shops because of road expansion and he did not settle us. I know a lot of people that became touts because of that, some have giving up and are doing all sort of things to feed their family.
You see that tall building over there? You can't jump from first floor to the 10th, you will climb it one step at a time. I'm living my life jeje and I know when my time comes, God will bless me."

Great thread boss TochiPhotos *thumbs up*

Found this early today and was glued to my phone all day, sent your links to friends and invited some to like the Facebook page... Been so captivating. Congrats on the Vivian account breakthrough, though she lost the battle, God knows best.... I could go on.

I don't know if you can post some in Pidgin English then the British English translation will follow (I guess some people respond in pidgin), I think it may increase the 'Nigerian flavour/ feel'. Thanks for your time, energy and resources. God bless you plenty.
Nice suggestion bro... Will do that. Thanks for the kind words, really appreciate.

"Buhari went to Jagaban's house and first thing he asked him was if he sold cars and he said no. why can't Jagaban give me key to one of his cars and say take this one and hustle? The only thing rich men know is tell their people to say Oga is not around.
I entered state house one day to see Fashola but they told me he was not not around.
*HOL* Why did you want to see Fashola?
I like Fashola a lot, he is the best governor ever. I just wanted to tell him his road extension people destroyed my shop but they told me he wasn't around but I know he was inside."

"Life is more fun in Douala than here, it seems people are too busy in Lagos. I also noticed minerals and other drinks are 'water water' here, in Douala it's thicker.
*HOL* What do you miss most about Douala?
Our music. I knew about Psquare, David O, 2face etc before I came here because people play their songs back home but here no one plays Cameroonian songs and I miss them so bad."

"We met last year, I was walking around with a friend when I heard someone playing a really nice song with a guitar and I left my friend and moved closer to the spot she was in.
I was instantly captivated by her soulful singing and I stood there for a while then later joined in the singing uninvited. We connected instantly and I'm sure people that saw us singing that day would think we were a group. She is my biggest motivation, makes me want to work hard and put in more effort and has made me better all round since we met."

"My first dog died when I was 8, when she died, I got candles, called my family and friends together and held a small funeral for her.
I spent days crying and mourning her and my people thought it was unusual for an 8 year old boy to have such an emotional connection for a dog but what they didn't know was that Bruno was not just a dog to me, she was my best friend, always obeyed me and was always there to listen to me, the only thing she didn't do was talk."

I feel like I'm the one holding myself back from achieving greatness, I don't work as hard as I should and I have this problem of consistency, I might get excited over something, start it then abandon it halfway.

please, Tochiphotos do answer the question about camera recommendation... i am planning on going into nature photography(odd right?) and will love some suggestions and advice. gracias
I know why you said it's odd lol grin the best way to enjoy photography is to shoot what you love. I started my photography with sports because I have great passion for football and it was naturally the first thing that came to mind when my budding photography interest kicked in. You are on the right track bro... Will give you a comprehensive answer to your question soon but one thing you need to know is... It's not about the camera or number of gears you have, it helps but your eye is what is going to make the difference.

I will recommend Nikon 5100 or Canon 600d(T3i) or you could go for the Nikon D7000 it has more features and it's the best midrange camera I've used. Go to snapsort(.)com and compare the features side by side.

"It took me 6 years after my first degree to discover myself and what I really wanted to do with my life. In that 6 years I was trying my hand on different things but never found fulfillment in any of them till the day I dropped my kids off at school then spent the entire day helping and talking to the pupils in the school. Nobody sent me to do it but it made me happy and I knew that was it.
The next step for me was to get a degree in Psychology education. The people around me did not understand why I would abandon my first degree in chemistry for that but I found fulfillment in mentoring and helping kids and that's all that mattered to me."

"I started driving because I loved how drivers dressed, my senior brother was a driver in the sixties, he was always neat and well behaved. His neatness and numerous road tales was what made me love driving. Driving has changed a lot since then, now it's like a battle of the craziest.
I class drivers I see on the road in two; the normal and abnormal. The abnormal used to be mostly the Indian hemp smoking danfo drivers but now it's hard to tell apart because everyone now acts crazy on the road."

"I can't pick out the year or date I noticed things have changed, I just know things are no longer as they used to be. Now the only thing people care about is money and more money.
People were more honest and patient in my days. As a young boy, all I thought about was how to help my father in his herbs business, I looked forward to his patting my back and well done my son than any other thing. I don't know why people are in such a hurry these says, that's why many make mistakes that ruin their life. Young people need to learn how to be patient and honest in life, that's the key to everything"

If I had gone to school in that 8 years I would have graduated since and done something good with my life but 'nothing spoil' I know God will see me through.
Someone leased me this keke 3 months ago, I'm slowly paying it off and in a year or 2 it will become mine then I can think of going back to business. I know things will still get better as long as there's life"

"I nearly quit my job when I first started, then I thought to myself; If I get my married and have kids, is this how I'm going to abandon them if they misbehave or stress me? Teaching kids is not easy, they almost drove me crazy in the beginning but now I can't imagine myself doing something else, I've had opportunities but I just can't imagine not been around these kids.
They've taught me so many things; how to be patient, forgiving easily, you might see two kids fight this minute and the next minute they are laughing and playing.
They are also very sensitive and sometimes behave like adults, like when my relationship ended and I was going through a difficult time, I don't know how some of them noticed I wasn't my usual self then came to ask me why I'm not happy, played with my hair and did funny things to cheer me up"

"She reminds me of my younger self, there are some things she does and I immediately remember doing them exactly like that when I was her age like how she always says 'let us pray' when we are together that was my thing as a child and she got that among many other things from me. it's just like I'm reliving my childhood through her.
For her school's end of the term party, I dressed her in the same dress I wore for my traditional marriage. She just finished her presentation and she was outstanding. She is such an intelligent child and I can't wait for her to grow up and take over the world."

"When I hear names like Otedola, Dangote etc I get moody and angry with myself that I'm not rich then I look back and see their are lots of people who would do anything to be in the position I am in now and I just give God glory while praying He blesses and takes me higher.
One of the most important things I learnt in school is never to forget where you come from. In school you get to meet so many people and it's so easy to get distracted, when I left for school, my brother told me if I didn't get good grades in the first semester he won't spend one naira again for my fees so I had to stay focused and not party around with people whose parents can afford to setup something for them whether they finished with a good grade or not.
I've not gotten that dream job yet but at least I have a job and I know I just have to be patient and trust in God and in His time He will move take me higher."

"I'm taking time off work to relax with this financial help book a friend gifted me.
I made that decision to become more aware and careful of my expenses when I started work 15 years ago. It was challenging in the beginning; learning to say no, delayed gratification, not buying things on impulse and other tough decisions but looking back now, it's the best decision I've ever made.
Many people don't know the key to success is been financially disciplined.
Most Nigerians are waiting for a windfall of sort, people need to realize becoming rich is a gradual process and you don't have to wait till you hit millions first, no amount is too small to invest on something. If you don't manage the small money you have well then there is no difference between you and those who don't have at all."

"When I was a teen I usually followed our driver neighbor to do conductor work with his danfo, I do that every holiday to help support my family and one day we were working and one of my school teachers entered our bus and I immediately hid my face. I stayed in an uncomfortable position for long cos I did not want her to see me, I was ashamed.
I even didn't want to collect bus money, I just wanted her to alight and leave without seeing my face but she managed to see me and surprisingly she was so happy that I was working, she noticed I was ashamed and talked to me about dignity of labor and told me not to care about what people think as long as what I'm doing is legal. I became her favorite student till I finished secondary school."

Hey Tochi,

Would it be okay if we knew what were his setbacks? Was it cash or failing exams. I also thought you could ask if he's interested in training with Auto medics at Agidingbi in Ikeja. They train in car Diagnostics as well.
Not sure how much they charge but we could sponsor him, I just live his passion and would like to see him grow.
Let me know. Or what do you think?

He said he credited the relevant subjects in his wassce but didn't write jamb cos of money. I think he wants to go back to school, will go and confirm from him and see how we can help him.

Tochi, I hope you do something about this... You can arrange for a weekend, take the boy out to watch a match or sight seeing or to any place of interest. From there, you start talking to him, tell him about Dangote and the rest of our rich men that came up from dust to riches.

Make him understand that if he wants to be useful, he should start now and limit too much TV time. His father's plea was one that came from the depth of his heart and I would like to see some changes.

Thanks boss
Nice idea.... Didn't meet him that day sha, went back today and he did not pick his calls when his dad tried to reach him. I will go back tomorrow and talk to him... Thanks bro.
