bidex111: BH/ISWAP? training with quadcoptors in sambisa forest/lake Chad Basin area. The military must be ahead of this scum-bags, i pray these guys wouldn't graduate to the next level FPV drones to attack military FOB, we must be always 10 steps ahead of these guys. this isn't the first time though Boko Haram once had drones during the dark days. Currently the army is utilizing counter UAS system among troops. A more better effort should be cutting the supply line. |

Toju200: useless government YES worse and clueless chiefs NO. Mention to me what they're haven't done compared to other service chiefs. The family of the victims wanted negotiations, infact it was the first right step to take, it took a really long time then it stalled. Special Operations units from ONSA and DHQ are currently in the forest for the rescue operation. In the initial phase of the rescue during negotiations period we lost two men during heavy clashes, the terrorists are large the area is laden with IEDs it would take awhile but they'll be out soon the kids are out. Sadly we lost an operator |

bidexiii: A year-by-year breakdown also showed a steady increase in appropriations throughout the review period.
The Army received N463.4bn in 2020, rising by 10.2 per cent to N510.6bn in 2021. Funding increased further to N580.8bn in 2022 before climbing to N665.1bn in 2023.
The upward trajectory continued in 2024 when the allocation rose to N789.8bn, an 18.8 per cent increase from the previous year.
The biggest increase came in 2025 as the Army’s budget almost doubled to N1.48tn which is an increase of 88.1 per cent increase over 2024.
For 2026, the appropriation rose marginally to N1.50tn, bringing cumulative allocations for the seven-year period to N5.99tn, an overall increase of about 224.8 per cent from the 2020 figure
https://gazettenaija.blog/army-received-n2-89tn-from-n5-99tn-six-year-budget-amid-battlefield-losses-investigation/ how much was released to them in 2025 is the question. So the Army is lying they receive only 7% for equipment procurement. |

bidexiii: N̈AF as sustained in your own words intelligence and precision strikes, Yeah that's why its the air arm but it's not enough. They can perform better than this, so as the other sister security agencies; especially NPF, NA etc..
Its a shame than NA/NPF can't perform a rescue mission for those kidnapped victims in Oyo State, there excuses as always being; "High risk of loosing the hostages". After how many years of fighting terrorism/banditry and kidnapping onee would think that we should have outgrown this stage and beheading of the challenges we are facing. The NA is struggling to sustain a "Tier-1/2 dedicated SF", When the NN SBS is doing with ease. Stop celebrating mediocrity! you keep saying they can't rescue Oyo victims yet both NA and NPF has conducted numerous rescue operations even more than SBS. I still made mention of how they rescued Borno kids utilizing Air and ground coordination. So because they haven't rescued the Oyo victims the army is now incompetent is that it? You want NAF to do better how more can they do when they're lacking funds to sustain is missile stocks, 2. Why do you think till date we haven't received the M346FA NO MONEY!!! The current CAS has performed better than previous chiefs except in my opinion CAS Amao |

bidexiii: Baba, forget about all these excuses, Stop giving verging for all this Chiefs, The present security Chiefs have showed that they've not learnt from previous past happenings. it's not excuses. I'm saying things as it is. You still haven't mentioned what the chiefs aren't doing or are doing wrong compared to former service chiefs. NAF has sustained intelligence driven airstrikes infact this CAS has more record of precision driven strikes and he keeps building on that capability majorly in terms of training. The Army Aviation and UAV has been very active in recent times since beginning of the year. The COAS has been pushing for funds to improve early warning systems in the NE to be able to thwart ISWAP attacks and there was been improvement as regards that. So tell me exactly what they aren't doing correctly. If you're blaming the chiefs blame the troops as well. |

bidexiii: 20% of totall budget or just 20% of totall money meant for defence ? Go get your facts rights, I agree that our military/defence dont get proper funding amidst the corruption by politicians and top-brass but its way better than years back, yet past security Chiefs performed way better than what we've got now. I'm talking about defense budget army got just 7% of 2025 Air Force got 20% tell me how exactly are they expected to perform with such. You still haven't explained in what way the past service chiefs have performed better than present. Infact if you have military friends in service go and do your survey |

bidexiii: So why can't they rescue those kidnapped in Oyo state ? I already gave an explanation. Firstly the incident happened in a area where no solid/visit security presence apart from local vigilante. Now it already happened first set of rescuers that pursued the terrorists ran into IED two vigilante were killed. They threatened to kill the Hostages if force is used, I believe you've come across several case study 2024 UK SBS raid in sokoto amongst others. We tried negotiations for the safe release but it stalled. Now two weeks ago ONSA is coordinating kinetic means of rescuing them I have video of them in the forest I can share personally with you |

bidexiii: Stories... This is the nature of counter-insurgency, so save this execuses. They got more funding, better equipment way back than the "caliphate days".
"The NA & NPF can't conduct rescue mission for those captured students and teachers in Oyo state, this is not Sambisa Forest that is so dreaded or dangerous. "Some times i just think of what the NA as become and what are we actually capable of ? which funding exactly, budget they keep allocating yet they don't release 2024 and 2025 budget how much do you think was released to the military, the army didn't get up to 20%, this is beginning to affect Wingloong 2 operations because we lack spares and running low on missile stocks china is refusing to supply because of previous debt. You keep saying they service chiefs are the worse mention to me what they aren't doing, or should they be in front line every now and then, haven't we grown past that stage, Keep blaming service chiefs |

Exnavyboy62: Correct, also it won’t make sense to procure new Mil Mi 35s when the NAF is expecting the AH-1Z vipers, and operates T-129 Atak, AW-109M light attack helos, Mil Mi 17 Gunships and has converted some of its EC-135 into gunships. Perhaps 3x Mil Mi 35s will be reactivated to serve as a stop gap pending the delivery of the AH-1Z viper. we were supposed to acquire additional Mi35Ms 2-3 years ago but it stalled the same issue is stalling the reactivation of the rest fleet. Our initial order for the Mi35M is 12 we only took delivery of 5. |

Faithful007: If the air force with her Alpha jet fleet, A29 fleet, armed l39 fleet, armed drones, light attack choppers, Viper and MF346 squadrons on order, still cannot provide adequate air support,
then the problem lies closer to disorganization and poor management skills. I must tell you. our fleet is largely inadequate. The L39 is mainly used for training since their upgrade, few alpha are active the rest undergoing maintenance, same as the A29 drones aren't enough to cover everywhere, we've lost 3 CH-4 due to technical faults, we're fighting terrorists across Zamfara, sokoto, kastina, Kebbi, Borno, yobe, Niger state, Kwara. It's clearly not enough |

bidexiii: Ill rather advised we go for the SU25, the NA needs dedicated attack platforms that can rain hell and give ground troops the adequate fire support they need. we're supposed to be looking to acquire more better artillery systems not SU25... Helicopters for rapid deployment of troops, if they can't get Mi17 acquire AW149M. They have no business with an Attack platform like the SU25 |

Then have seen pictures of U.S Army & Airmen training and our soldiers taking pictures with them. they were conducting Medevac for wounded troops, we lost 4 soldiers in the attack. The foreigner is a contractor from a private firm, they were training troops on specialized CT warfare using army aviation, since the Helicopters deployed to NE they joined up to provide assistance too. |
