lagcity: Dem Babangida and Abacha days. We enjoyed our childhood during those years and didn't know what military rule was. I actually enjoyed the June 12 riots and protests barefooted grin
bro, those days were tough. But our innocence bailed us out.

Imagine going to saw mills to get saw dust and bush to get firewoods to cook. Submitting to drinking garri(probably with sugar, epa or kuli) as the everyday lunch.

The fun then is that, we were many doing those things together with no fence barrier.

Politics › Re: Pro-Jonathan Rally Berths In Ibadan Tomorrow by Tolexander:
TAN, a non-governmental
organisation, had lined up
rallies in all the six geo-
political zones in the
country with the sole
motive of galvanising the
people to persuade
President Goodluck
Jonathan to contest for a
second term in 2015 having
performed well in his first
term.
a non governmental group financed by governmental fund!

Good governance isn't something that needs rally like a protest. We, the governed, have all senses of perception to feel it.

If he is sure he had performed in this first administration of his, i think this isn't needed. Of course, his works will definitely speak for him.

Was all these useless rallies organised for him to win the election in 2011?

it was a common book then in the south west. I did see it, but my lack of flair for reading novels can't make me remember what the content is. Probably due to those novels not having attractive pictures with colours then.

Politics › Re: Omisore’s Political Career Over – Makinde by Tolexander: 9:00am On Aug 21, 2014
barcanista: he did not win 2007 convincingly. The election was marred by violence and irregularities and was annuled by the Appeal Court in 2009. However, the AC did not participate in the re-run election opting to wait for 2011. And Omi was defeated in 2011....
i'd even forgotten the election was annuled by the appeal court in Ibadan.
My point to the guy is that, so far an aspirant won a previous election convincingly isn't a the very fact for winning the next election.
Politics › Re: Omisore’s Political Career Over – Makinde by Tolexander: 8:44am On Aug 21, 2014
barcanista: And your point is?
the reason for that outcome you stated!
Politics › Re: Omisore’s Political Career Over – Makinde by Tolexander: 8:37am On Aug 21, 2014
barcanista: in 2011 Osun East Senatorial seat, Omoworare polled 119,852 votes, running on the Action Congress of Nigeria (ACN) platform, ahead of Senator Iyiola Omisore of the PDP who received 51,315 votes. Omisore is a political lightweight in Ife. Omoworare was a newbie in Osun politics prior to the election
immediately after the outcome of the appeal court bringing in Aregbesola, many political 'heavyweights' defected to ACN. Moreover, everybody needed change after their 8years in office.
Politics › Re: Omisore’s Political Career Over – Makinde by Tolexander: 8:31am On Aug 21, 2014
Johnnyessence: let me tell u fact here makinde will surely wins again in ife federal constituency Cos' inec is saying no to military operation in d election period. flash back to 2011 makinde wins convincely in his constituency upon the thugs of PDP candidate killing some of his relation in d church he still won and omisore lost to senator omoworare so my brother in d house he will surely wins again come 2015 election.
so far he won convincingly in 2011 isn't the raison d'etre for his success in the next election.

Senator Iyiola Omisore won Senator Mojisoluwa Akinfenwa convincingly in the 2003 election, he also won the 2007 election convincingly. Why then didn't he win the same election in 2011 losing to Omoworare?

The fact is that ife zone is Omisore's stronghold. He will need to work very hard to claim it. Not convincingly like you said!
Politics › Re: PDP Supporters Protest, Allege Rigging Of Osun Poll. by Tolexander: 8:00am On Aug 21, 2014
Rotimi Adeyenuwo,
alleged that the governorship
election was rigged
by the APC which he claimed
used ‘State Boys’
to unleash terror on some PDP
agents at some
polling units.

This, he said, gave the APC the
opportunity to
manipulate the election in
favour of the governor,
who was declared the
eventual winner of the
election.
slowpoke shouldn't babble the boldened!

In the presence of over 50,000 security personnel including 35,000 armed soldiers(when Osun no be Sambisa), somebody can still claim some state boys victimised the electorates!
Politics › Re: Omisore’s Political Career Over – Makinde by Tolexander:
Makinde said although
Omisore won the four
local government areas in Ife
including Ife-East,
Ife-Central, Ife-North and Ife-
South local
government councils, the
election was not the
true test of his popularity.
dey there dey deceive yourself!

2015 is coming when you know your political status. Ife zone, most expecially central and east, is Omisore's stronghold. That is the federal constituency you represent!

So, if you think you are standing firm, be careful that you don't fall! 1cor 10:12
