But why?? ? LASU is saying that those who chose them as preferred institution are not eligible, why? Or are they expected to wait for the second round of screening? LASU should please clarify. |
Thanks @ shaolin2020 and others. I get it now. And @ifeanyimoses, it's not all or just about NAF DSSC but about seeking knowledge, which we all know that no knowledge gained is ever a waste. @solidsman59, easy or not what one doesn't know, he doesn't know. And it's always good to seek help while you can. Regrets for inaction are regretful. Success in our hustles. |
In a bag of oranges, the ratio of good ones to bad ones is 5:4. If the number of bad oranges in the bag is 36, how many oranges are there altogether? Sorry to seem dumb. Never been a math guru. So please what's the answer? |
Just finished reading this story. I read 'Thorns...' yesterday. Both stories had me in tears at various points. I have to say without flattery that both stories were point blank hits back to back. Thanks and expecting more from you soon. |
On top a list that is available for download? There's even a James Hardley Chase (Charles actually) in one of the states. |
Specialists here refreshing email account every other minute. Like someone said earlier it's not passion for the job but more of passion to avoid starvation at all costs. |
Please has anybody who applied as specialist received the invite? If not, who knows what is the reason for this. Or does NPF mean to say that none qualified.? |
Flying officer Philadelphia has put us all on our toes where grammar is concerned. I don't want a not qualified label. But truth be told it is the "gbagauns" that add flavor to the thread. I'm assuming the gbagauns are deliberate on the part of the "gbagauners" |
It appears the military have embraced change although perhaps this may only be surface deep. However if one may use the NDA entrance exams and the speed with which the result was released as a yardstick (12 days after exam is certainly unusual) , then it may be safe to assume that the same may occur with the screening result and shortlist for test and interview. Just maybe... . |
To be or not to be? Why can't the Nig. Airforce just come out with some form of information to settle the confusion? Some people are still "jonsin" at their screening centres till the 10th to await the text or the end of this stage. Or do they think it's easy to be travelling to and fro? Not minding the risk and cost? In this hard times! 'sunfair o. |
...unfortunate. |
Okedi was not dqd. He's a 67 rc cadet. |
Please any female for Ilorin center? Let's link up. Quote me or better still send a mail to kikitomsy@gmail.com Please o. Time is of essence. |
No it certainly doesn't make you the best. But from time immemorial Mogadishu Bn have always been known for ruggedity. Nobody messes with them in the acad even though they can enter into any other Bn to cause chaos. There's no gentle Mogese o. |
Simba's father said it well.

Abeg who applied for psychology? Were you expecting to take maths because I was not. I expected only biology and was caught by surprise o. |
Panzerfaust:I Hail o. Which subjects did you do? You must be hot. |
mimzy007:Oga boss please I really need a sample of the letter of attestation. My signee told me to draft mine and bring it for signing. Unfortunately, I have a brain warp now. Can't just think of what to write. Will appreciate. Thanks. |
peekeny: HaneefahRN:Finally I seem to be understood. The issue was never about the supposed polytechnic / university inferiority or superiority. It was about the system of education that produced the writer of that letter. Stating his level of education ( which was wrongly stated as HND in the heat of passion) was only to show that there is a very serious problem in our educational system and the emphasis which we place on the acquisition of certificates. Numeracy implies not only the ability to count numbers but ability for quantitative reasoning. Likewise your ability to recite the alphabet or form two letter words does not make you literate. It is your ability to use that language well that qualifies you to be called literate. And I do not mean just the English language but even our indigenous ones. Whichever language we choose to be literate in, some things are simply not expected at certain levels. For example if it was primary one pupil that wrote the letter in question I'm sure nobody would raise a brow. But it is expected that at the tertiary level of education, one should have developed the basic skills for literacy and numeracy. In the case in question, the writer has been failed by the system that produced him, from primary to secondary to tertiary. That was my point all along. |
corperscorner:I would rather not join issues with you as that would lump me up with a clout like you. Still, I would recommend that you get some toothpaste preferably the one used by smokers to get the nasty language out of your mouth. Better still since it all comes from the inside, maybe you should get some fumigants and clean your insides too. |
johnwizey:If you noticed I said 'our graduates' using that as a general word. The rot is not just in the polytechnics but all over the academic system. You chose to see "polytechnic " probably because you are there or graduated from there. For your information I know a fellow who graduated from the polytechnic and was once adjudged the best student in an American university. I have nothing against the polytechnic and think it offers quality education but I do have everything against the rot in the graduates being produced because they choose to be mediocre. |
Nche95:If you were just a little bit more observant maybe you would have noticed that the paper on which the letter was written was folded at the top and the names blocked off with strips of paper. But I guess you couldn't see that much. SMH FOR YOU TOO. |
Is there still hope for education in Nigeria? If a student in HND 2 in a polytechnic in the south west, a few months shy of graduation can write this, do you still wonder why our graduates are said to be " unemployable " ?

However it has been found to be a general malaise. Even yours truly contracted it at a point and had to see the virus as it really was to know it was no biggie. Just get a copy of GMAT, know the airforce structure/army history, brush up on your maths and quant reasoning, some idioms and... whatever else catches your intellectual fancy. You'll (we'll) all be fine. My two cents (or 2 Kobe) |
Cooldeejay:Bossie the new virus in town is called Nafpq. It is spread by desperation and insecurity about self ability to face intellectual challenges without prior help. The best way to stop the spread is by avoiding all contact with infected persons. Another but costlier way would be to contract the virus and develop a vaccine for it by posting a PDF version of the nafpq on this page. |
