As Nigerians with our fundamental right to vote whoever we want - whether Sowore, Moghalu, Atiku or whoever, the suffering, poverty and hunger that this tyranical government represents, we cant as a nation continue this anymore. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!
- To start with, millions of people are suffering and millions are already out of jobs. - Millions of Nigerians are badly hungry as most cant even feed their kids or family - Tens of thousands of businesses - both small, medium and big are shut down and closed for business - Nigerians RARELY commit suicide no matter the situation but in the last two to three years, the rate of suicidal incidences by Nigerians due to the economical disaster being experienced is damn so alarming! - Thousands of lives accross Nigeria have been recklessly destroyed due to the worst security situation in the country perpetrated by SARS officers, Herdsmen, Re-energized Boko Haram, Police, Custom and other para-military personnels - Farmlands, livelihoods and means of survivals of many are destroyed and battered beyond repaires due to boko haram and Militant herdsmen who have grown so much intoxicated with getting away with impunity
If you therefore support the 2nd coming of this worst affliction that is called Buhari. This is what WILL happen to you as i and other well meaning Nigerians invoked in strongest of term that the thunder strike of God almighty and the small gods of Amadioha, Sango, Obatala and so on shall strike down ON YOU, ON WHATEVER YOU DO, YOUR BUSINESS - (WONT PRAY FOR THAT ON YOUR INNOCENT CHILDREN AND UNBORN GENERATION)

Olumyco: I see you people keep admitting that inflation can result if the goods and services in the country is low but the mistake you guys are making is that Sowore does not admit that. Sowore each time is talking about the 100k minimum wage criticism, will always say how come the money the senators are collecting is not causing inflation. He start saying different things. He does not even say these things you people are saying that the growth of our production and infrastructure with the increment will go together. It shows you guys are just trying to help him here. He is not saying anything you guys are saying here. He plans to develop the tourism, health etc sectors of the country on the basis of his agenda to develop the country not to be able to avoid inflation as a result of the 100k. You guys should listen to his claim. Dont come here and package it for us. Infact Sowore believes the 100k will not cause inflation whether the tourism sector, health sector, agric sector etc is improved or not. In his mind Nigeria should be paying 100k min wage now instead of 30k. We all understand that he means well for us but if you are not knowledgeable about economics you can cause trouble for the nation at the expense of taking the country out of poverty. Nigeria is not US. What will work for us is increment over a period of time while our production sector and infrastructure grow. Sowore is good in other areas no one is an island he should set up good economic and financial team that will help him. Simple The first thing Sowore did before he declare his intention to run was, reaserch, one of those research was, which of the 10 agenda he proposed should he pursue first, people said all... On essences, he said all of them will work together, hand in hand. Nobody is packaging anything here, because sowore most times don't go into the tiniest of details in his manifesto bt going through it, u can easily understand it. Why Sowore keep mentioning that 100k is because, people that attacked that wage are not doing so, out of concern for Nigerians, they keep saying, Nigeria doesn't have the money and if it does, inflation kicks in and Nigeria will capsize, his question to them was, is Nigeria not on a steady inflation? Which one are u talking about again? If the salary of the legislators don't cause inflation, why will that of workers, who deserve wat they are working for? U can find an excuse not to pay a worker bt u can't find an excuse to pay them? Is the merit out weight the demerit? Incase things go awry, wat can be done? All these questions were answered before Sowore bring out his manifesto and that manifesto had the contributions of professionals from different fields. |

Newboss: Yes, EVERYONE must get an equivalent increase. Else, the guys on 100k now will be on 100k with the minimum wage earner. That would be absolute injustice in the name of fighting for justice.
FG wage bill, about 3 years ago was 65b Naira a month (I stand to be corrected on this). That's 780b Naira a year. Multiply that by 5.5 (It should actually be 5.556. I'm being lenient with figures), that would be 4290b (4.29trillion) Naira in annual wage bill alone if minimum wage goes to 100k
Now, this is getting messier because that's almost our annual budget as a nation. Our wage bill was about less than 20% of the annual budget as at 2016 budget. Just being lenient with figures because the figure was actually less than 15%.
As if that's not crazy enough, our 2019 revenue projection is 6.97 trillion Naira. The budget is 8.8trillion. If you add 4 times the current 18k minimum wage annual wage bill to that budget, that would amount to adding 3.12 trillion (over 8b usd) to it the current budget (total will become over 11trillion Naira)
Sowore thinks he needs 1.8b USD extra? LMAO
That's at least times 4.4 the 1.8b USD extra he's talking about just for the extra needed for the new minimum wage
NB: Our current wage bill is already way beyond 65b naira a month because of promotions and new recruitment. That figure is from around 2016. That worsens the actual figure needed to pay that wage U ain't listening sir... We are not going to be paying more for those already receiving enough, this is for those on the lowest and middle salary structure, which means, it's from 100k upward, someone already receiving 100k will receive a pay rise bt not by ur formula of times 5. I already told u that there is big disparity within the salary structure, should we carry on with that? Or we restructure it? We choose restructuring... U get now? |
Politics › Re: SOWORE 2019: Implication Of N100,000 Minimum Wage For Workers By Lai Brown by tomtos88(m): 7:42am On Feb 21, 2019 |
Olumyco: I know his agenda SPICER HEAT and Sowore is who I wish could enter this Saturday but his minimum/living wage idea is wrong Sir. I support him but not that 100k minimum/living wage thing. See economy itself is how money enters and exits based on human behaviour. In economics when you talk about production in an economy you are talking about income money flow (how money move from employers to employees) and consumption money flow (how money move from consumers to producers). See cash flow is like when rain is falling. When rain is in excess, that is, more than the ground and river can contain, flooding will occur. Its a phenomena. No one can beat that. By the time employers start paying 100k as living wage to low employees just know that there will be much outflow of cash towards goods and services in the economy and inflation will result like flooding becos the available goods and services cannot curtail the massive outflow of money. You know he also talked about giving out of loans to build houses after the increment too... infact there will too much money chasing fewer goods and services. Consumption rate will increase. Producers will jack up prices of goods and services too. See the best he can do is to first develop those things you mentioned which are his plans before increasing the minimum wage. I know that Sowore mean well for this country and want to take us out of poverty but that 100k formula will not work. What works is increasing the value of money in the country by providing infrastructure (electricity, refinery etc)and developing human capital which by doing so, Nigeria will have a good living standard and come out of poverty. We all can study South Korea, Singapore, UAE etc... its not by minimum wage is by solving the infrastructural and human capital problem of the country. Then you talk about building your own house and becoming a landlord of urself. Hmmmmm this is wrong in economics becos house, car etc are liabilities.. what we need is asset. We need businesses to get money then after we can build houses. Instead of house loan it should be business load. The country needs business owners and investors and not landlords and car owners. Sowore needs to be advised seriously. You dont build economy on liabilities, you build on assets. You are moving in different direction from the party ideology, which is a wellfarian party... As long as u don't understand the basic and premise on this 100k minimum wage, u will keep finding excuses to pay people 30k, leaving them unmotivated, unproductive and corrupt... Pls note that we talking about federal workers here and States under AAC. Using ur rain analogy, wat if we build drainage to mop up this rain? Since its expected that there will be more rain. This is why we can't afford not to incentivize our workers, nothing will work or move forward paying them this atrocious 30k salary. This is a system designed to move hand in hand with others like agriculture, tourism, right policies to enable businesses come to invest... Just think about it, 100k is a middling ground or a starting point to jump-start the economy while not leaving the people behind because without them, we are simply wasting our time on everything we thought we wanna do |

Olumyco: This funny so the present workers earning 100k now how much will they be collecting when he wants to start paying people at the bottom of the ladder 100k?
See Nigeria problem is electricity, security and refinery. If we fix electricity in this country the price of goods and services will come down. When that happens the value of money will increase. Fix security same will happen. Fix refinery same will happen. Price of oil will drop and before you know it 30, 000 naira will be like 100, 000 naira of the past. Its quite obvious u wount admit being uninformed... Who says he wount provide electricity? Security? Fix refinery? He will produce electrify in a record time of 3 years from the 7k mega watt we have to 24k mega watt. Back to Minimum Wage, this wage isn't to increase everyone's wage, sure, someone who is on 100k will get increase, but the gap will be close greatly. The idea is not to increase wages of those already earning above that amount, but to structure it to be more closely, starting from 100k, some wount be getting a raise at all. So, after u have electrify, and u collecting 30k, wat can u do with 30 K? That's for u to live on 1k daily, where will u get money to pay rent? Taxes? If u have wife? Children? Wat about ur own health? Wount u like to be ur own landlord someday? Our 100k is a living wage, that will enable u to live like a decent human being and still be able to afford the basics of life. |

wirinet: Sorry to say, but there is so much ignorance in this statement. It's impossible to explain the way things really works in a single thread. Companies are already groaning under multiple taxation by federal state and local government, that is apart from high production, self infrastructural, power, etc costs. If you add high taxes and then minimum wage of N100,000, you will finally kill all companies in new Nigeria. Governments give tax breaks and reductions to encourage companies, not tax increases. We are in a globalised we world, and you are competing with the whole world in terms of price and quality.
Exporting marijuana will be difficult and tricky. First marijuana is illegal, legalising marijuana in a religious country like Nigeria where we even criminalise homosexualism would be near impossible. Canada is way ahead of every one else in the production and exportation of marijuana. They have highly technically advanced marijuana farming that produce the best possible marijuana. It's not the weed (pun intended) that we grow in Ondo. We just can't compete.
It is easy to shout massive investments, the problem is finding the money, skills and legislation to actualise the massive investments within the terms of a single government (4years). It will do u alot of good to read and understand before u comment next time, i did not say, increase tax, i said, collection of tax... Did u know, the rate of tax collection in Nigeria is around 7%, that can be increased to 15% simply by making sure big companies stop short changing the country in connivance with government workers... U used the word, automation. On marijuana, its about exporting it, not legalising it for consumption, as a matter of fact, Sowore campaign already has a legal frame work in place to start the process immediately he resume office... Nigeria burn marijuana worth 1.5 trillion yearly, polluting the environment where they burn it, putting the people in the community at health risk and hazard... Why don't we remove those obstacle and import it, we didn't said, legalize it that will make it available for everyone... This is gonna be a strictly control process, from farming to collection to export. This is wat we call, thinking outside the box... A win win |

wirinet: False premises. They invest most of the increase salaries into other economies, like China, Germany or the US. They buy Chinese goods, iPhones, Samsung, Ralph Lauren, BMW, etc. It has been tried before and it did not lead to economic expansion. Gowon increased salary abruptly in 1974 ( Udoji Awards) and it kick-started our appetite for foreign goods. Stop saying wat u can't prove... With 100k, wat can u afford? Designer shoe? Do u actually think people survive on 30k monthly? They steal, they neglect their jobs, they become unproductive and not interested in their jobs, but with 100k, they can finaly stop worrying about how to survive decently and concentrating on their jobs... These civil servant are not kids that go for flashy things, they are more concerned to make a living... Na small pikin they chase after all those things u mentioning.. That's a fact. U can pay 14 million naira to senators bt it now becomes a crime to pay a fraction of that to ur workers? Haba, why this wickedness... wirinet: It does not work like that, the countries with the highest wages are not the most productive.
If you increase wages without a corresponding increase in local production, you will have runaway inflation. You will also be helping clients countries that already dump their goods on Nigeria.
Research the population and cost of governance if UAE, Saudi Arabia and Qatar and compare that with their earnings. Remember monarchy is a very cheap system of government, while democracy is the most expensive. Where did u read in his comment that countries with highest wages are the most productive? As things are in Nigeria right now, any business that u wanna start or any production u wanna go into, u must consider that people generally can't afford much because of our wage of less than 100 usd... 100k is just about 280 usd, not near anything like wats obtained in UAE or quarter but its a huge boost because these set of people are much in number, they don't send their money to UK, dubai or USA wen they collect salary, they invest it back in the economy, businesses will grow, sme will thrive, there is opportunity or space for the economy to expand due to demand and the revolution of turning Nigeria will begin |

Newboss: Maybe you don't understand the mathematics. Let me help you:
Minimum wage now is 18k. There are entry level staff in FG payroll on 50k. There are others on 60k. There are others on 80k. There are others on 100k.
Okay, minimum wage goes up directly to 100k from 18k. That means that minimum wage has been MULTIPLIED by a factor of AT LEAST 5. 100k being the NEW MINIMUM wage, FG can't pay anyone on her payroll LESS THAN 100k.
From the second paragraph, there are AT LEAST 4 categories of person whose wages are below the NEW MMINIMUM wage. They MUST get a just and equivalent raise to match the minimum wage.
Okay, minimum wage was increased by a factor of AT LEAST 5. That means as you're multiplying the 18k guys salary by at least a factor of 5, you MUST multiply the 50k guy's pay by at least a factor of 5 (his new pay will be above 250k a month). You MUST multiply the 60k guy's pay by at least a factor of 5 (his new pay will be above 300k per month)... Until you get to the guy earning 1m. You MUST multiply his pay by 5 (his new wage will be above 5m a month)... Etc.
You MUST multiply by a flat rate because as a worker is leaving a salary, there are more qualified people who are on that his new salary. So you MUST multiply their salary by the same factor you multiplied the last guy's own.
I hope you can see the chain of stupidity? Anyone with brain will raise price by at least a factor of 3 (just being lenient) because those who just got times 5 their former salary without ppromotion don't work harder than them.
Imagine it and you'll see a horror movie
The money is NOT the problem. The stupidity is the problem. Naira WILL become VERY VERY VERY USELESS if you do that Too bad u don't read and don't care to find out before u type... Sowore agenda is all about the people at the bottom, which has been neglected, because of bad condition, they have become unproductive, involve in corruptions and generally neglect for work... This 100k minimum wage is to bridgw the gap between the wide difference of those on minimum wage and those on maximum wage, not everyone going to get a raise. Assume it as a new structure of payment that makes the wage structure more reasonable starting from 100k not multiply by 5 like u saying... With Sowore calculations, he will be needing just about 1.6 billion usd yearly to pay this extra... Are u satisfied now? |
