Difference between me and you is that, I talk based on reality while you talk based on fantasy.

You are talking based on the ideal position you want Nigeria to be. But I am talking about current Nigeria position.

It is simple. If you don’t want a governor to use stolen funds to finance your campaign, why not sought public donation and not in any way seek for governor support? If no one engage in it, there won’t be incentive for those corrupt governors like Wike to continue to pillage state fund to sponsor campaigns.

I repeat again, if I spend 50bn on your campaign for example, you better be ready to pay back my money when you get elected or else na ogun lakaaye go help us end our fight.

My brother you are entitled to ur views.
But I have a contrary opinion, though.

Fubara shouldn’t have requested Wike arsenal to win an election in the first place. If you don’t want people to support you with state funds, then don’t seek for their help so you won’t need to be like Fubara trying to fight off that.

The joke is on you if you believe Fubara is a saint. He was working with Wike before and was even declared wanted by EFCC. Shey na that man come dey claim saint now? He is just as criminal as anybody else.

Until Nigeria politicians stop seeking help to get to position of power from powerful few, nothing will change. If I sponsor your election and expended billions on you, you better pay my money back after you get to the position or else you’ll see what traitors get for treachery.

@ the bolded:

With such a mindset, our society has no chance of getting better. Politicians embezzle state resources and use it to advance their owncourse, which in most cases leads to state capture with the interest of the masses overlooked and that's what you advocate.

Think in the best interest of ur society and stop reasoning like someone who is a tool in the hands of politicians.

I think most Rivers politician loyal to Wike are just a clique who believe Fubara is a betrayal of national repute. Fubara is treacherous, the fallout is just too sudden.

Wike naturally will not be able to offer those politician what Fubara will offer them considering the money chest that a Rivers governor have access to. But they still choose to align with Wike because loyalty is key and conscience won’t even make them just denounce Wike at this early stage.

Politicians generally don’t have conscience, but there are levels that even the worst politician will question his action. To be fair to Fubara, he also exercised some restraint at the early stage but treachery is still treachery either ways.

I like what Tinubu is doing, he is playing neutrality. So Wike team and Fubara team can fight to stupor and one eventually win over the other for sanity to resume.

We watch on the side.

The mentality of some of you really amazes me.

A governor/political leader that spends state resources to control his followers is what some of you applaud.
Wike requesting N2b monthly from Fubara is what you deem morally right.

I think the problem of our society can be found in the value system of the masses.

Sometimes I am tempted to believe that a people deserve the kind of leaders they get.

I don't even understand what you wrote here. Are you talking about people who build on canals, who are dubious and encroach on places that are built for the common good of all. No one is angry, it's just your perception, when the Lagos State wants to right the wrongs on all levels. I am a real estate developer but I do my due diligence before investing, I have never for one day had issues with any of my development.

So sorry if I misunderstood you earlier.
Just that I don't like it when people's sweat/properties are destroyed in this harsh economic climate.
Going forward, LASG should halt all illegal constructions at the early stages...

Ironically the local councils give approval for construction to go on, it's not like the people just jumped into empty plots of land and built on them like that without approval.

You guys have constantly underestimated the strategy of the Lagos State Govt in achieving some of their plans. Instead of sitting back, you continue to mock them, when they now implement some policies against you, you won't let SM rest.
They have deported some ' Osun' indigene In Lagos, you are busy laughing and mocking Yoruba people. Immediately they start deporting people to Anambra and Ebonyi, no one must raise any noise and start quoting the constitution. Once they start deporting Igbos, you will have no excuse because they deported some 'Yoruba' people first.

Learn Learn and be more discreet about your thinking pattern. It betrays you all the time. People can read you guys easily. The other tribes will keep quiet while you keep mocking everyone, you tend to assume because people keep quiet, they are okay with what you are doing. Then when you expect them to collaborate with you when it comes to politics or other stuffs and they don't, you then start talking about betrayal and victimization whereas the foundation was laid all along by your lack of control over your mouth and emotions.

Take heed. The greatest thing you can do for yourself is to control your mouth and your emotions, they betray you easily.

Technical adviser. Lagos State govt usually demolish houses built by Igbos. When it got to Yoruba turn, there's nothing to demolish since close to 500 of them live under the bridge.

Maryanne's post on X was very careless, inciting, and highly defamatory. She has to get properly educated about true events and think before posting next time so she is NOT to be seen to be demarketing Lagos State or any other state based on misleading information or confirmation bias. Maryanne can easily land or get charged to court and get jailed subsequently for incitement, demarketing and defamation if those who are directly affected by her demarketing choose to take this up LEGALLY and she would lose in court!

As a woman who has been married to Kingsley Moghalu for 30 years now, she has to learn to be guarded before posting online so that it doesn't affect Kingsley's image. Kingsley Moghalu is one of those who give very constructive criticisms and I respect him for that. I see that she owns a nail studio and likes posting on X (formerly Twitter), but she has to learn not to make very irresponsible posts like this next time. Period.

She expressed her opinion and you term it irresponsible.

Government made a businessman (Landmark) invest around $200 million in a project and in less than 20 years the same government is demolishing the business in the name of building a coastal road. If it was the government that built Landmark, will they demolish it? No. They would have found a way around it and still build the road.

So without her saying it,the message has been sent. Investors will be careful because this shows government can't guarantee the safety of your investments.

L.P was virtually unknown in the 2023 presidential race until Peter obi came into their fold.

What people need is dividend of good governance not party affiliations.

Zulum was in APC and did very well in his first tenure despite most of his contemporaries failing, Makinde in PDP did well in his first tenure and is currently doing well. The guy in Abia had previously ran under APC but got his ticket now thru LP and is obviously working. So party affliction is nothing

Unfortunately, voters don't determine the winners in elections, the people that count votes does.

What is my concern is can you really trust the present inec

chnnmfl:

Do you have comprehension problems?

Did you read my initial post?

What do you mean by saying that I'm misinforming people?

I said on quote "We have been enjoying 24hrs electricity in my area in Aba since Saturday evening"
I said in "my area" not the whole of Aba. I can only report where I am right now not elsewhere.

In my area in Aba we have been enjoying over 22hrs since Saturday evening which is unusual. If they take it, in few minutes they will bring it back immediately.

Read and comprehend before rushing to reply.

Sorry sir. I didn't mean to upset you, neither do I mean misrepresent your point.
Yes there's been a marked improvement in power supply in some areas which perhaps, yours is inclusive.

Just that a lot of times I have seen people say that there's a 24 hour steady supply of electricity in every part of Aba already and we know it's not true.
The capacity to generate the electricity demand of Aba has been made possible by the commissioning.
Until Geometric Power puts everything in place that will ensure efficient distribution, regular power won't be realized.

We have been enjoying 24hrs electricity in my area in Aba since Saturday evening. E be like say the IPP in Aba has starting running in full capacity.

I come dey feel for generator repairers and sellers in Aba. They should start planning to switch to other businesses or move to other cities.

Please stop misinforming people who would like to know the true status of power supply in Aba.
There has been an improvement in some areas since the commissioning but a whole lot of places haven't experienced much changes as well.

While Geometric Power has the capacity to supply electricity 24/7 due to the 4 gas turbines,it must be noted that it will still take a while because everywhere isn't metered yet and more transformers need to be distributed too.
Also there's the issue of inadequate gas supply which is affecting all Gencos in the country.

So the fact that the power plant has been commissioned does not automatically translate to instant 24/7 power supply in Aba yet.
Geometric Power is an integrated power company. The generation of the power needs of Aba has been made possible by the installation of the gas turbines, they are now working on evacuation of the power generated and distribution to meet the residential, commercial and industrial needs.

Politics / Re: This Would Have Being Palestine Today If They Didn't Choose The Violent Path by toneroforever(m): 10:38am On Mar 31
FiftyFifty:

Not true and I'll tell you why.

Palestinian people have been wrongly but deliberately accused of rejecting the two-state-solutiin (2SS). This is a lie. A pure, blatant lie repeatedly told to mislead the public. The devil in every deal is in the details...

The only Israeli PM who showed commitment to the 2SS was Yitzhak Rabin based on the 1993 Oslo Accord, and it was on that commitment that he got assassinated publicly by Yigal Amir, a jewish extremist in 1995.

The camp David Summit in the year 2000 came fairly close to creating a 2SS during Ehud Barak. It came crashing down when Barak warned the Americans that he could not accept giving the Palestinians more than a purely symbolic sovereignty over any part of East Jerusalem. In total, Israel demanded that Palestine's territory in East Jerusalem be reduced to eight sections including six small enclaves. Palestinians objected to the lack of sovereignty and to the right of Israel to keep Jewish neighbourhoods that it built over the Green Line in East Jerusalem.

The Israel also wanted to set up radar stations inside the Palestinian state, and be allowed to use its airspace. Israel also wanted the right to deploy troops on Palestinian territory in the event of an emergency, and the stationing of an international force in the Jordan Valley. Palestinian authorities would maintain control of border crossings under temporary Israeli observation. Israel would maintain a permanent security presence along the Palestinian-Jordanian border.

Israel also demanded that the Palestinian state be demilitarized with the exception of its paramilitary security forces, that it would not make alliances without Israeli approval or allow the introduction of foreign forces west of the Jordan River.

One of Israel's strongest demands was that Arafat declare the conflict over, and make no further demands. Israel also wanted water resources in the West Bank to be shared by both sides and remain under Israeli management. Israeli control of water resources in the new (almost) Palestinian state, along with de facto Israeli control over borders and the total demilitarisation of the Palestinian state basically guarantees that Palestine would be an Israeli state.

Robert Malley, part of the Clinton administration and present at the summit, wrote that Arafat was told that Israel would not only retain sovereignty over some Arab neighbourhoods of Jerusalem, but Haram Al Sharif too, and Arafat was also asked to accept a 9-to-1 ratio in land swaps.

Shlomo Ben-Ami, the then Israel's Minister of Foreign Relations who participated in the talks stated on Democracy now in 2006 that "Camp David was not the missed opportunity for the Palestinians, and if I were a Palestinian I would have rejected Camp David, as well.

The Palestinians compromised quite a bit. They started by asking for a state based on pre 1967 borders. The Israelis rejected that, so they asked for borders based on 1967. The Israelis also rejected that, so they asked for complete control over the West Bank and Gaza. The Israelis rejected that. And the same Palestinians are unjustly accused by people of rejecting the 2SS. (As recent as last week, Netanyahu publicly and boldly reiterated the Israel stance that the Palestinians shouldn't have a state, after Biden called for a 2SS).

These and more are all documented by even the Israeli media such as the Haretz and by many Israeli authors such as Uri Avnery, Dan Cohen, and Ilan Pappe, among others.

Quite informative

Tinubu and his crew are damn petty and shameless.
Always looking for excuses for failure.

I guess it was Obidients that removed subsidy without a working plan on inuaguration day before resuming for work at the presidential villa. Tinubu removed subsidy because he wanted to save money, but the manner in which he did it created a shock in the market causing prices of goods and services to skyrocket thereby causing more hardship.
When his foolish action backfired,he reintroduced subsidy which is even higher than the amount he removed on May 29th.
These guys are simply confused.

Now that Ijaw is under siege by the Nigeria army I am surprised that Reno and Asari the two ministers of Igbo hater has gone mute and have nothing to say.

This two men has made it a duty to always side with anything that is done against Igbo people not knowing that one day it will be the turn of his own people.
Ijaw women are killed raped and their houses destroyed. Ijaw children are lying dead all over Ijaw land. Young girls are raped but alas those two has gone mute

The people you love to side with against the Igbos are now the one shouting on top of their voice to wipe out the entire Ijaw while the Igbo are the one speaking for you. This is the irony of life

What happened to both sides (army and Okuama community) is unfortunate & tragic.

We Igbos must not have an opinion in every issue. Leave Yoruba & Ijaws to sort themselves out however they deem fit.
