Politics / Re: Over N1 Trillion Saved Since Subsidy Removal, Says Tinubu by toneroforever(m): 10:34am On Aug 01, 2023
Why is Tinubu this daft.
N8000/month per household is grossly insufficient & still can't get to even a third of the population.
Remove say 50% of petrol subsidy and use the money to fix the refineries.

Track & dismantle the petrol subsidy cabal....
unless it's difficult for him because of his drug/criminal history.

Some of you, out of hatred for the government have lost your sense of reasoning and behave so foolishly that one wonders if loss of election means loss of sanity.

The money was saved after subsidy removal.

The loan was taken before subsidy removal by the previous government.

You may argue that be could have returned that loan but that is if we don't need the loan....we sure do need it

Even u that appointed urself as Tinubu's attorney will soon get frustrated defending someone that doesn't care about ur existence.

Hope u r cool buying petrol at N617/liter.

According to President Bola Tinubu, the economic flaws he is working to rectify primarily favour the wealthy, which is why fuel subsidies had to be eliminated and other fiscal measures were put into place.
On Monday, he clarified during his speech to the country. Those who benefited from the old order, he claims, will fight back.

However, the President committed to:

Mumu mandate thief. U hurriedly stole the presidency without any plans to improve the living standards of Nigerians that ur evil party destroyed.
Keep ur apologies cos nobody is interested.
Fix the refineries & arrest criminals sabotaging oil subsidy.
High energy cost is not good for our economy.
Increasing salaries won't solve the problem because it will still cause increase in the prices of goods and services.

The student loan also resulted in increased school fees in the higher institutions.

I went to a boutique yesterday to get some clothes for my woman, while checking out some designs, a young beautiful girl of about 16-17yrs old walked in, she told the sales lady she needed a beautiful dress for her school prom (graduation party). I directed her to one i initially saw and loved, but the size was small for my woman, she said to me that it's fine but that she is a Muslim and can't wear short gown, that it's christians that wears short.

I was dumbfounded, I stood in awe, got lost in thoughts for some seconds, about the little girl's words, when I came out from the cloth shop, I looked around to see truly what Christian girls wear, saw many with wringled thighs wearing knicker, short tight, crop tops in the market. I asked myself if it's Christianity that taught us to wear things like that or just choice.

I support decency but morality goes beyond dressing.
If u discover what some Muslim girls actually do., even their married women r not left out....

That's your problem. There is no brilliant judge from that side. If you mention a brilliant drug trafficker or brilliant baby factory merchant, then you may be right.

One of the so called Supreme Court judges from that side gave birth to a 72 years old boy called Charlie Boy who has been behaving mentally unstable on the streets and on the cyberspace.

Funny how people just write rubbish here.

FYI, the IQ/intellectual level of the average Igbo person is high.
For instance in the US,Igbo students are among the best rated African American/immigrants that graduate from American Universities with excellent/very good results.

I don't know where u r from though, but I hope ur folks are academically sound...at least something to give u some bragging rights before u cast aspersions on the great Igbo tribe... otherwise please STFU.

It's not our fault that BAT is the most ridiculed Nigeria leader of all time.
Even Abacha commanded more respect in West Africa than Balablu.
U are the ones tarnishing our democratic image.

Buhari was a terribly incompetent leader but at least we all know he had people that voted for him.

All these countries you mentioned have a favourable balance of trade compared to Nigeria, they maintain high GNP to sustain there forms of palliative measure which is not the same in Nigeria,
Fighting corruption in Nigeria will always end in futility becos our systems and constitution have so much lacunas/loopholes, those who drafted the system/constitution are the ones exploiting it
As an average Nigerian i am not against Subsidy, But on a review as subsidy a blessing or a curse does its benefit outweigh the liabilities

Supporting subsidy removal is more of encouraging the wicked looting/enrichment of the criminal political elite irrespective of their political party.

While one might think he is being patriotic by encouraging it's removal so that the funds are used for development, but in reality what u see is a situation where these politicians corner these funds to themselves.
Recall how Tinubu approved N70b for NASS while telling majority of the citizens to endure chronic hardship

They have being subsidizing over a decade, what did we produce, which productivity did it encourage, common pencil, tooth pick una still dey import yeye nation

The problem u r still having trying to understand this concept of subsidy was the problem I equally had until last week when I listened to experts discuss this issue.

Majority of the citizens in different countries of the world cannot afford fuel, electricity supply, advanced education & health care if their respective governments don't subsidize these products and services for them.
USA,UK, Germany,France,China, South Africa etc subsidize these products with millions/billions of dollars annually.

The problem in our case is that the elite and government officials embezzle most of these money.
Subsidized products is about the only thing we still manage to enjoy from the government.

Government should fight & eradicate the corruption in subsidy and not to scrape the program itself.

NLC should shut down the economy until Tinubu reintroduces subsidy on not only fuel, but kerosene, diesel & electricity as well.

He should tackle the criminality associated with subsidy and not use that as an excuse to remove it because more than 95% of governments around the world subsidize energy for their citizens to encourage productivity.
