Saudi Arabia Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman is reported to be behind the the purchase of the portrait of Jesus “Salvator Mundi” by Leonardo da Vinci’ for recording breaking $450.3m. American and Arab officials familiar with the arrangement said Thursday.

New York Times learned that the purchase was executed in the name of Prince Bader bin Abdullah bin Mohammed who is a close confidant of the crown Prince and it is believed that the Crown Prince must have funded the purchase.

However, Prince Bader in a statement Thursday in a Saudi newspaper owned by a company he leads said he had “read with great surprise the report published about me in The New York Times newspaper and the strange and inaccurate information it contained.” He did not mention the painting in his statement.

According to New York Times an official at the Saudi Embassy in Washington declined to comment on Thursday.

Islam forbids any art work depicting any prophet though Islam recognises Jesus as a Prophet but does not recognise him as a saviour. Public acknowledgement of the purchase by the Crown Prince may offend the sensibility of the conservative Muslim kingdom.

Christie the auction house that handled the sale of the renaissance masterpiece did not disclose the buyer. However, Sales document reviewed by New York Times stated Badre as the buyer.

The “Salvator Mundi”is being expected in Abu Dhabi in the newly opened branch of the Louvre museum.

Former Bosnia-Croatian military leader Slobodan Praljak 72 has committed suicide in the court at Hague.

After losing his appeal at the International Criminal Tribunal which had earlier sentenced him to 20 years in jail for his involvement with six other politicians in a campaign to drive Muslims out of a would-be Bosnia Croatia mini state in Bosnia in the early 1990s.

Zimbabwe president Robert Mugabe has resigned as president on Tuesday.

The speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda announced the resignation to lawmakers on Tuesday. Bringing an end to the 37 year rule of Mugabe characterised by oppression and economic collapse.

The letter was read by the speaker and part of the letters reads: "I Robert Gabriel Mugabe in terms of section 96 of the constitution of Zimbabwe hereby formally tender my resignation... with immediate effect".

A model from Ottawa, Canada, whose artist ex-boyfriend attempted to tattoo her eyeball with purple ink could have permanent vision loss.

According to the model Gallinger the ex-boyfriend bungled the procedure by using a needle that was too big, sticking it in too deeply and using “pure ink” instead of ink diluted with saline.

She said they had been only together for a month but have known each other for years and thought she could trust him with the procedure because he had a portfolio but she was wrong.

According to her she went to hospital immediately because she experienced pain and swelling, but that doctors sent her home because they weren’t sure something was wrong.

She went to a second doctor when she was still experiencing symptoms weeks later. The medical professional was apparently horrified.

She said she is scheduled for surgery next week as she is still experiencing pain and blurry vision.

However the ex-boyfriend has defended the procedure and blamed her for not taking care of her eyes after the procedure and for not using eye drops as he had recommended.

After the photo of model eye went viral, popular science published a primer on how scleral tattoos; that is tattoo on the white part of the eye works.

But experts say the procedure is dangerous in general that what happened to Gallinger is an extreme version of possible risks.

A safer option is a surgical corneal tattoo performed by a qualified ophthalmic surgeon, according to PopSci. Corneal tattoos are typically performed as a type of reconstructive cosmetic surgery, or to improve eyesight.

She said that the aftermath of the tattoo is also taking a toll on her mental health.

“At this point, every day is different,” she said. “Some days I feel a bit better, other days I kind of want to give up.”

58 people have died and more than 500 wounded in the most deadly mass shooting in US history as country music star Jason Aldean was performing to a sold out crowd when the shots were fired in a music festival at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas Sunday night.

The star was performing for about 20 minutes before the non stop shooting started. However, the singer is safe following the incidence.

The shooter who was on 32nd floor of Mandalay Bay hotel.Police responded to the scene, engaged him and he is now dead. Law enforcement officials identified the suspect as 64 year old Stephen Paddock.

Aldean posted a message to Instagram, saying that his heart hurts.

Motive for the shooting is yet unknown.

Authorities are still looking for the companion of the shooter, Marilou Danley, as well as two vehicles.

A German nurse Niels Hoegel, 40 jailed February 2015 for life for killing two patients with lethal drug overdose is believed to have killed up to 90 patients.

Investigators are exhuming more bodies and analyzing them and have found evidence of scores of additional murders.

According to the chief police investigator Arne Schmidt, Hoegel killed the patients ramdomly especially those in critical condition.
Hoegel who admitted he injected patients with a drug that can cause heart failure or circulatory collapse in order to revive them which gives him the euphoria of being a saviour when he succeed and devastated when he failed.

The case which dates back to 2005 when a colleague found the nurse injecting a patient with a lethal drug. The patient survived but the nurse was sentenced to seven and a half years in jail for attempted murder.

Hoegel had admitted to 30 cases in which he named patients he killed.

Investigators admitted they may never know the true number because some bodies were cremated.

A 20 year British model was drugged and kidnapped in Milan as she arrived the city for a photo shoot.

She was attacked in an apartment drugged, handcuffed and loaded into a bag and put into the boot of car which was driven to an isolated house in Borgial, northwest of Turin.

Investigators said they discovered the kidnapper had organised several online auctions for the sale of abducted girls, which included a description and an opening price.

She was handcuffed to a wooden chest of drawers in the bedroom for six days until she was released.

The kidnapper had used an encrypted account to ask the model's agent for £230,000 ($300,000) to stop her from being sold in auction.

The police said the kidnapper a Polish national Lukasz Herba, 30, who lives in the UK, has been arrested on kidnapping charges.

The Ugandan president Yoweri Museveni has claimed that he has not fallen sick since 1986 when he assumed leadership of Uganda.

He said “Have you ever heard that Museveni has fallen sick and my legs hanged in hospital for the last 31 years?” Museveni, 72, was speaking at an event in eastern Uganda to mark the launch of a translation of the Bible into a local language, Lugwere.

“This is because I observe some of these health tips which have eventually helped me to prevent some of these diseases,” he delared, Museveni who was re-elected in 2016 in an election marred by allegations of irregularities.

According to him some of the ways to stay heady include getting vaccination for disease, sleeping under mosquito nets treated with insecticides in and staying off alcohol.

He also recommended a good diet, high standards of personal hygiene and drinking clean and safe water as ways to achieve a healthy lifestyle.

Museveni said “Most diseases that overwhelm these hospitals and health centers can be prevented if the people can improve on their hygiene and sanitation,” claiming that 75 percent of registered cases are preventable.

British Vogue's new editor Edward Enninful has officially assumed duty as the first male editor in the magazine`s 100 years history. He takes over from Alexandra Shulman who has been in that role in last 25 years. She announced her departure in January.

His first move on Tuesday was to launch Vogue on Snapchat.

He has also hired Naomi Campbell, Steve McQueen, Kate Moss and Adwoa Aboah as contributing editors just a few names in the huge hall of the editorial team.
