If people are hearing voices in their heads each time they pray to their sky wizard, then that's a serious sign that you should visit your local psychologist because clearly there's something mentally wrong with you. |
Christians would know all about pedophilia every sunday morning, the Church is quite infamous for it. Even your jew prophet Jesus was a ped with Mary. |
gallivant:Last time I checked Nairaland like any other forum is a place for asynchronous conversations online or in simpler words gathering place which individuals get together to share and debate their thoughts varying in different subjects. You seem to be derailing the conversation so wouldn't you be the one that's being the nuisance here? |
gallivant: gallivant:I will do as I please, thank you. If you are feeling uncomfortable with certain subjects, then A - that's not my problem and B - you are always welcome to ignore it and not participate in the discussion. Freedom of choice is a wonderful thing. |
When it comes to education in Ghana, it's the best in west Africa and better than Kenya education system according to the education index, but it's still pretty terrible compared to worldwide standards so it's not saying much. The student to teacher relationship is terrible because children are bought up not to be questioning or critiquing the aged. So, you have like a hierarchy of students always seeing teachers as knowing more than they do which can affect quality of education a child recieve. Also, lack of learning materials due to constant changing curriculum and ones approved are often than not pretty terrible due to favoritism. Also, little to no incorporation of technology in education. Ghana education rating of just 0.563 The fact most Ghanaians dont even know Kwame Nkrumah borrowed the ancient name Ghana from the then powerful and rich Ghana Empire that predated the Mali Empire as he wanted new Ghana to be as powerful and famous as the old one is truly embarrassing and shows how bad education is in Ghana. |
QueenNyakim:Only way your going to get homosexuality legalized in any African country (minus botswana and South Africa) is by cutting down their religious numbers as that's where vast majority of the bigotry is boiling from. Or having quality education that promotes stuff like critical thinking and rational thought which also leads to a decrease in religious numbers. Typically, atheists challenging people on their bogus beliefs eventually pushes people to become atheists too as they begin to question their faith. This will eventually lead to LGBTQI rights and then gay marriage. Botswana is pretty close to legalizing gay marriage considering the supreme court and even the past presidents have been on their side which is surprising for an African country. Tl;dr this stuff takes time. West way as I see it is trying to speed up process by threatening african states with sanctions. |
Shaytun:This is what happens when the government interferes everytime, it always lead to nepotism and corruption eventually failure. So, they are yet another African country that didnt bother to learn anything from the Ethiopian airlines success. No wonder Ethiopia is expected to overtake Kenya nominal GDP next year. If NPP of Ghana is as half as smart as the Ethiopian government, they will stay out of the business making decisions for their national airline they are setting up. |
QuietMynd:Making the finalized product of something countries and consumers actually want in the global market is something that will actually make africa the real money here and industrialize and develop their countries much quicker. Instead they often opt to sell their mineral rights to any foreign company to extract them and pay them pennies in return like with Botswana and DeBeers. Botswana gets 10% of the profits of diamonds while rest of it goes to DeBeers. Then said finalized production goods get reimported back to the country which the African consumer is paying 2x ~ 4x the price for it hence rinse and repeat the government is in a vicious cycle of getting the short end of the stick. It's just as bad as China and Africa's deal of infrastructure for minerals deal. |
68816419:Very much so. As for why? Well, Tinubu has no plans to improve Nigeria. He saw the presidental position as a birthright and is riddled with proven scandals whereas Obi Peter isn't. If you think electing a sleepy geezer that can't stay awake on the job much less pisses himself is a great candidate to lead the country, then clearly something has malfunctioned in your brain. There is a reason Africans all over continent are laughing at Nigeria right now. From South Africa to Kenya to Ghana etc. South, East, West. If Obi had won, there would have been plently of Nigerians who are massively successful outside of the country willing to come running back to invest and improve the sitaution as you currently know under APC Nigeria has been going to shit. - The naira is falling, inflation is high, and things are very hard - 133 million Nigerians have fallen into extreme, multidimensional poverty, that is 60% of Nigeria's population - Growing debt problem (not government fault entirely, oil prices and all) but APC response was to borrow even more - Corruption is a way of life here, nothing works - The education and health sectors are badly underresourced and has showed no signs in improving - Fuel scarcity is unbelievably for a oil producing country is still a major problem - Naira reform is causing a lot of stress, people cant even withdraw cash from the ATMs and to the point people in rural areas resorting to trade by barter. - Security probably has to be as bad as Somalia right now. Boko Haram has metamorphosed into banditry. Roads are unsafe, Trains are unsafe, and kidnapping is rife even to the point some ambassadors have high tailed it out of Nigeria. No wonder tourism sector is close to dead from international travelers. Oh, did I mention we have a islamic terrorist for a vice president now? |
At least Kenya doesn't have a literal drug dealer as a president and a Islamic, Boko Haram terrorist as his vice. If this election truly wasn't rigged, then majority of you Nigerians are truly ret@rded. Truly wonderful times ahead of Nigeria, wouldn't be surprised if it spilt before Tinubu term ended. |
larrypourl:Lmfao, this country is done for. Move to Ghana, Kenya, Tanzania, or Botswana etc while you all still can. |
"eLeCtIoN wAsN'T rIgGeD, yOuR jUsT a BuNcH oF lOsErS eVeN aFrIcAn UnIoN sAyInG iTs tRaNsPaReNt!" Your election sponsors and acting observers are saying otherwise. Rejected by not just EU but US and UK too. If this was taken to a legitimate court outside of Nigeria, Tinubu and INEC would certainly lose the case of it being a "free and fair" election.

Just30:Foreigners dominate the Nigerian economy so much that none of them even appear in the top 50 richest Nigerian list. Meaning most of the wealth held in Nigeria are owned by Nigerians. The biggest and most important companies like Dangote Oil Refinery, fertilizer factory, located in Lekki Free, Imota rice mill (biggest producer of rice in Africa), Kings Court Realtors, Zenith Bank, BUA Cement, Mavin Records, Nollywood studios, and many more are controlled and run by Nigerians. https://www.atlanticride.com/richest-men-in-nigeria/ |
popizaino:80 percent of businesses are owned by Kenyans and I mean actual Africans aka black Kenyans. I still find it embarrassing your former president, Kenyatta, made a bunch of curry munchers a "official" tribe in the country when they have no ancestral link to the land. Parklands where most of these lot live is Maasai ancestral land the British took by force during colonialism. Hell, these brown rapists can't even speak a lick of Swahili much less adopt any African culture(s) much like many of the other foreigners living in Kenya besides a few chinks that make the effort to learn one of our languages. Ghana is like South Africa when it comes to economics in that foreigners pretty much own everything including vast majority nation wealth while black South Africans only own churches. |
GeneralDae:Its been like this since Kwame Nkrumah was deposed in a coup d'etat and JJ Rawlings who confiscated and sold Ghanaian businesses to expats like Ghana owned International Tobacco Group to the British Tobacco among others as well as Ghana's goldmine fields. There is a reason the ethnic group, Ashanti, aren't very fond of the man or the NDC ingeneral. Used Ghana as his personal property and exploited wealth of the nation for his personal gain. Took down any Ghanaian who started an industry whiles allowing Indians, Syrians and Lebanese to build wealth. Hence why the richest families in Ghana are not native Africans but Iranian, Lebenese, Syrians, Indian etc. Outsiders. The country hasn't really recovered since 1966 and has been to the IMF 17 times since 1993 to present. |
Didn't your Ghanaian president Nana Akufo-Addo beg Europeans aka Germany to plead with China over Ghana's debt? https://www.ghanaweb.com/GhanaHomePage/NewsArchive/Akufo-Addo-begged-Germany-s-foreign-minister-to-plead-with-China-over-Ghana-s-debt-Mornah-1711208 This is just sad. If this is happening, you know your country is being run by a complete clown that has no idea on how to manage a nations finances other than looting the country coffers with stuff like the E-Levy enforced on the already impoverished Ghanaians. OH! Using the Taxpayers money to build himself a cathedral. Funny enough, the NDC was less corrupt than the NPP going by the Transparency Index during Mahama years in office. |
Luzebox:Certainly disagree that "most" of Accra looks bad but I got another one for you. First picture is birdeye view of Accra, Second is Kumasi.
|
Mkenya2019:Besides Lagos, most Nigerian states look like this. A giant, glorified shanty town. This is Oyo state, other states like Ogun dont look much different.
|
Ayo114:Realized something? Thats Northern Ghana where its full of illiterate and uncivilized muzzles. Everywhere they touch turns to shit. Just like how Northern Nigeria is the worst part of your country and the cause of most of Nigeria woes. Full of bandits, terrorists, islamic milliants, and sandal wearing herdsmen with AK47s and makes up vast majority of the nation poverty. Only Kano state resemblance what you could call a civilization. |
vankelvin:Seeing how I am the only one backing my statements with actual facts, you guys are complete idiots so please direct yourselves to the image I recently posted to Just40. I'm pretty much done here. |
Mahama achievement in power only comes second to Nkrumah.Lol. Unemployment has only gone up since the NPP took power as it moved from 7% in 2016 to 13% now. This is all because of a vindictive destruction of Ghanaian businesses.Where are you getting your sources from? Latest statistics says 4.70% and thats currently under the NPP led by Nana Akufo-Addo. Nearly 7% was in 2015 and that was during Mahama's administration. https://www.macrotrends.net/countries/GHA/ghana/unemployment-rate https://www.statista.com/statistics/808481/unemployment-rate-in-ghana/ Yes Mahama presided over low industrial growth but saw an expansive growth in the service sector , a sector that has gone downhill under NPP.Really? Under NPP the industrial sector is second biggest just behind services sector contributing 30% toward the Ghanaian Nominal GDP with a rebound of 6% ~ 8% growth rate from a meagre 3.4% in 2016 from Mahama before he left office with lowest as far as 2% in 2013 and 2014. NPP placed Ghana back as one of the fastest growing economies as soon as they took over. https://www.fact-checkghana.com/economic-growth-ghanas-gdp-growth-rate-under-mahama-and-akufo-addo-here-are-the-facts/ Exactly, to compare NPP and NDC is foolish because NDC is far more developmental in their thinking and politics while the NPP is mostly mediocre and filled with hate.Nothing to do with hate. NDC is just a shitty party with terrible policies and the facts speak for themselves. |

vankelvin:You are talking about the same man (Mahama) who was in power for 8 years and did nothing for the average Ghanaian. Your understanding of economics is thin especially on the world stage and how any changes affect Ghana's economy so I suggest you go and do alittle more research. The world is suffering from high levels of inflation especially those with less developed economies like Ghana (does include other factors) because the USD is the world's reserve currency that is used for international trade. Ghana's currency value is how it weighs against the dollar. Feds in America are hiking their interest rates to contain their recession to avoid people's objection to the falling value of money in their own country, which inturn strengthens the US dollar, they export their domestic inflation to other nations causing currencies to tank. They can support their currencies by raising rates in line with the Fed, but only at the cost of even lower growth. Russia and Ukraine war does affect Ghana via oil prices and sourcing inputs for the agricultural sector. Also, lets give a kind reminder of Mahama "achievements" while in office. - When Mahama lost the national election to Nana Addo-Akufo, he liquified billions worth of national assets to himself and his brother. - Aisha Huang was arrested 3 times for galamsey under NDC led by John Mahama only to be released and do the same thing. - Poor management and inability to solve Dumsor sent Mahama to the IMF. NPP deciding to go back to the IMF again is not the same as the prevailing conditions under which Akufo-Addo's Government made the choice to go back. - Mahama presided over low industrial growth during his four years in office and high unemployment which reached a record of nearly 7% in 2015. It only decreased down to 4.6% under NPP in 2020. You would have to be a complete fool to vote for Mahama in 2024. I'm not saying NPP are saints as I believe they need to stop their excessive borrowing and their policies like the E-Levy being forced on already impoverished Ghanaians are a pretty terrible move but to compare NDC to NPP is stupid. Its like comparing the Republicans to the Democrats and saying theres no difference between them.
|
I don't know why many Ghanaians are solely blaming Ken Ofori-Atta for how the Cedi is performing and if he did resign, who the hell would replace him? Considering Mahama's administration would do any better under the economic fallout of Covid-19, the Russian and Ukrainian war, and America's fuckery exporting their inflation via their rates, I would wager Ghana would be in a worse position than it currently is under the NPP. Dare anyone not say US fed interest rate hikes has anything to do with it thats causing currencies around the world like the Yen (from originally 114 yen to currently 147 yen to $1) to absolutely tank especially emerging economies like Ghana feeling brunt of it. |
Mkenya2019:Slow and steady wins the race unlike president Sisi and his military government rushing into things, risking Egypt into default by building up mountains of debt with that new capital city of theirs. Even then Eko Atlantic is not a Lagos state government project, they are not even a financial partner. It's owned by private individuals and it's being built for their own personal profit. |
Wuoche:Be quiet child, you don't know what your talking about. Even though Lagos already looks beautiful, once Eko Atlantic is finished, no African city will be on par with Lagos. Kenya's Nairobi is just a plagiarized New York with very minor differences, no creativity of their own.
|
More of Lagos.
|
I would say Lagos is the most beautiful African city thus far.
|
More pictures of Lagos.
|
Wuoche:This ^ Every ciy in the world has a slum they dont want anyone to see even advanced cities like Shanghai you posted. Here are a few pictures of their hidden slums in China like Shanghai. Now heres Lagos skyline. May not look as fancy yet but these images dont capture full beauty of Lagos.

African governments can't even keep their own roads and pavements in good condition much less maintaining their railways which they left to rot after colonialism ended. Ghana is a great example, 980km of rail lines upon independence left by the Brits, now less than 100km is functional. So, you expect them to provide basic government services like electricity? HA! Nigeria, "giant" of Africa, still uses generators for god sake. |
Lol. Funny and ridiculous in equal measures. I am not talking about the language but the architecture and the organization. Mombasa was founded and developed by the Arabs.Except it wasn't. Arabs came to Mombasa as merchants to trade and later settle down, same as Indians, Chinese, Portugese, Persians etc which I previously stated you can see influence in Swahili architecture and centuries later Omani Empire colonized the place. We've done this in the past with the Kenyans. Point to one grand building in Mombasa and see wether it has an Arabic influence or not.Theres alittle something called "cross-medium exchange of ideas and motifs". Thats how architectual styles like Gothic was born in Europe taking ideas from Middle East and fusing them with European ones. Is this like a new concept to Zoogerians like yourself? Besides, the name of the language itself Swahili is Arabic and it's not 100% indigenous like you erroneously said. It's at least 40% Arabic not to talk of other foreign languages.Swahili, or Kiswahili, belongs to the larger Benue-Congo branch of the Niger-Congo language family dumbass. Languages are classified grammarically which Swahili is belonging to the Bantu family, not vocabulary which then Swahili only loans 15% ~ 20% of Arabic. Therefore, Swahili is 100% an indigenous language. Like I said, going by your logic, since Yoruba loans a great deal of English words, does that make Yoruba, English? Anyway, you have no credible response to my argument other than repeating the same gribbish like a broken record. |
