London (NDR) – It is no longer news thatSahara Reporters has thrown the ethics of journalism and professionalism in the trash-bin for “Brown Envelopes” with no iota of shame in their sectional, junk and highly biased reportage. To the gullible Nigerians, this news site is exposing corrupt Nigerian government officials. But every informed Nigerian knows that, this is not entirely true because this online media outfit is now under the payroll of All Progressive Congress (APC) – the main opposition party in Nigeria. This news site like APC, celebrates and rejoices every bad news about Nigeria, Nigerians and the government, but finds it extremely difficult to even point out little achievement made by the government, at least to present balanced and unbiased reportage. When there is no bad news to report about Nigeria, they invent and fabricate one to show to their APC paymasters that they are really working and deserve to be paid. This malicious antic always gladdens the hearts of APC Bigwigs especially, Lai Mohammed – the ‘Liar-in-Chief’ of APC – the modern day Nazi propagandist, Josef Goebbels. To Omoyele Sowore – the founder and publisher of Sahara Reporters - he is earning a ‘decent’ living by using his online news platform to mislead and hoodwink gullible and highly brainwashed Nigerians (unfortunately in their millions) through highly biased, junk, sensational and sectional journalism. Yes, even the Holy Bible made us to understand that a “worker deserves his wages.” True to that, Sowore, according to our source has been rewarded by APC with a mansion worth $5 million located in Atherton, California, United States for having tried to “deodorize” Maj. Gen. Muhammadu Buhari with a mock online election which presented him as the most popular presidential candidate for the 2015 election. This mansion, according to an Insider has everything a modern home should have like Swimming Pool; Grand Hall, with 15-foot ceilings and marble floors, ideal for dancing; French doors opening to the veranda; Dining Room with a rouge royale marble fireplace; stained glass windows and a crystal 12-branch chandelier; Red-carpeted double mahogany stairway, complemented by a foliate motif stained glass window on the landing; Wrap-around veranda available for seasonal use and Ample covered or outdoor parking. This mansion is one of the many promises made to Sowore by APC as the race to 2015 elections heats up. Like the two-edge sword, the same Holy Bible that says a “worker deserves his wages” also made us to understand that the “wages of sin is death”. If Sowore - who claims to be exposing and fighting corrupt Nigerians using his online media outfit is still the same person accepting numerous bribes to do a hatchet job for the corrupt politicians is like kettle calling pot black. To those that don’t know, Sahara Reporters aka Sharia Reporters is a junk online news site that promotes Boko Haram. It thrives on negativity, hearsay, propaganda, falsehood, sectionalism, sensationalism and survives on political, emotional and psychological blackmail. Their modus operandi is simple: these reporters would sit in front of their laptops, fabricate a story filled with half-truths and more lies and send to air, knowing that they have lots of gullible followers in hundreds of thousands that would believe it. They also know that the Media Team of Mr. President would respond to it. When the Media Team counters their false story, Sahara Reporters would also report it, even as they know that some people would begin to believe the one from the presidency. Now, as they are reporting the counter-story from the presidency, their "spin-doctors" would be busy fabricating another story that would punch holes on the one from the presidency. For example: 1. Gen. Gusau resigns - Sahara Reporters (fake story) 2. Army HQ denies Gusau's resignation - Sahara Reporters (counter-story from the presidency). 3. Pres. Jonathan begs Gusau to rescind his resignation (another fake story to punch holes on the counter-story from the presidency) Now, this is the secret - Sahara Reporters reported the three stories (both the one that is against their fake story), which to any gullible mind proves that they are credible due to the fact that, they didn't shy away from the counter-story by the presidency. Another thing is that, any of the stories you report (if you like quote Dr. Reuben Abati – Presidential Spokesman), you are reporting for Sahara, because they reported the 3 stories. And when you do this, you are making them more popular and credible since they have not been made to RETRACT the fake story! Fellow Nigerians, know thy enemies! http://newsdayreporters.com/what-s-hot/547-exposed-apc-rewards-publisher-of-sahara-reporters-with-a-mansion-worth-5-million-in-atherton-california-newsday-reporters.html

2015: CNN rejects political adverts from Nigeria The penchant of Nigerians for lavish publicity in foreign media has met a stonewall in CNN which has been rejecting political advertisement. With the 2015 elections drawing close, several politicians are shocked that the American international cable channel, which is one of the favourites in Nigeria, has been turning down commercials with overt political messages. CNN adverts are among the most expensive in the world ─ the network charges up to N5m for a 30-second spot at prime time ─ but many Nigerian companies and politicians typically value the prestige above the economic cost. This has also created a bandwagon effect, with many falling over each other to get on the international media. It is estimated that Nigerian companies and various state governments spend billions of naira every year advertising in foreign media, notably The Economist, Financial Times of London, CNN International and Super Sports. “We approached CNN agents in Nigeria to place some adverts for our principal. We sent the creatives to them as requested and they returned them, saying they do not run commercials that are intended to campaign for votes. We could not believe it,” a consultant to a presidential aspirant told TheCable. Another, who is working for a state governor seeking re-election, said he had a similar experience. But an official of CNN told TheCable that it was a general rule not to accept certain advertisements and there was no discrimination against Nigerian politicians. Ashley Hogan-Gancarz, the account manager of CNN International, informed TheCable: “CNN International never accepted political or religious advertising. This is due to Ofcom regulations. “If you want to promote investment opportunities, etc. that would be fine but nothing to do with politics or the 2015 election.” Ofcom is the regulator of the broadcast industry in the UK, from where CNN International oversees its African operations. CNN’s rejection of 2015-related adverts is expected to benefit local media in Nigeria. Part of the advertising budget is now expected to be spent locally. http://www.thecable.ng/2015-cnn-rejects-political-adverts-nigeria |
President Jonathan, Emir Of Kano Sanusi Reconcile After nearly a year of bitter relations, President Goodluck Jonathan and the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, met Thursday in Abuja and reconciled differences that once drove both men to the extremes of their offices. BY PREMIUM TIMESOCT 30, 2014 After nearly a year of bitter relations, President Goodluck Jonathan and the Emir of Kano, Muhammad Sanusi II, met Thursday in Abuja and reconciled differences that once drove both men to the extremes of their offices. Pres. Goodluck Jonathan And Emir Sanusi in A handshake State House Photo Sanusi, a former governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, was fired by the president in February after accusing the government of diverting $20 billion oil revenues. The government denied the claim, and in turn, accused Mr. Sanusi of “financial recklessness”. After leaving office, Mr. Sanusi was appointed the Emir of Kano in June, assuming one of the most powerful traditional stools in Nigeria. His appointment by Kano State’s Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso, a member opposition All Progressives Congress, was opposed by the presidency which ordered the emir’s office blockaded for days. The emir reportedly initiated peace moves, and the two men met for the first time in July during the breaking of the Muslim fast, a yearly routine in which the president meets top government officials who are Muslims and other prominent Islamic leaders in the country. Our sources say Thursday’s meeting was essentially for reconciliation between the two sides. The emir was accompanied to the meeting by all senior members of the Kano Emirate council, while Vice President Namadi Sambo, the National Security Adviser, Sambo Dasuki, Attorney General, Mohammed Adoke, and the Foreign Affairs Minister, Aminu Wali also attended the meeting. Group photograph of Presidnt Jonathan, VP Sambo , Emir Sanusi and members of the Kano Emirate Council in Abuja today State House Photo Officials at the meeting say the president urged peace, and announced that he had nothing against the emir and that he had forgotten everything that happened. In return, Mr. Sanusi also preached peace saying he too had let go of the past. The president and the emir later met privately for about 15 minutes, according to our sources. Mr. Sanusi and his entourage left for Kano shortly after, and were on their way to the Abuja airport at the time of this report. http://saharareporters.com/2014/10/30/president-jonathan-emir-kano-sanusi-reconcile |
UNIZIK Female Student goes missing after leaving club with unknown guy This is a story about a 300level English Language student of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Annabel Nzubechukwu Edeh, who has not been seen since she left a night club with an unknown man many weeks ago in Awka, Anambra state. Annabel had gone to the night club with friends on September 17th and as the group of girls prepared to leave, Annabel told her friends she was in need of money so would go home with a guy she’d met at the club and would return to school the following morning. It’s been 6 weeks and Annabel hasn’t been seen. Read Full Story by Oluchukwu Igwe, a 500l Chemical Engineering student of the same school.. They were six girls, who went to Lounge 24 Gaga, a nightclub in Awka, the Anambra State capital, on September 17. They are Calista, Uju, Lovelyn, Ada, Chika and Annabel. All of them are friends and live close to one another. When they returned to their hostels the following morning, one of them – Annabel – could not be found. Where is Annabel? This was the question classmates of Annabel Nzubechukwu Edeh could not answer. The 300-Level English Language and Literature student of the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) in Awka has not been seen anywhere, 43 days after she went to the night club with her friends. Was she kidnapped? Is she dead? These are some of the questions being asked by her distraught family members and friends. She is the only girl in a family of three. Annabel, 24, a native of Enugu State, was last seen on Wednesday, September 17 evening, when she left her Paradise City Hostel in Iyiagu Estate, Awka. When she was leaving the club, Annabel reportedly left at midnight with a guy she met at the club. That was the last time she was seen. Annabel’s friend and hostel mate, who simply gave her name as Ifeoma, said after clubbing, the girls decided to find a place to sleep before returning to their hostels. But Annabel, she said, told her friends she wanted to go with Mmiri, a male acquaintance, she met at the club. She was said to have told her friends that she was in need of money, which could have informed her decision to go away with the guy. When she did not return in the morning, it was learnt that Ada and Chika called Annabel’s phone but were disappointed to hear a male voice claiming to have found the phone on the ground and asked the ‘owner’ to come for it. Ada and Chika, it was gathered, retrieved the phone and contacted Annabel’s elder brother, Ifeanyi, who reported the matter at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Awka. CAMPUSLIFE learnt that Ada and Chika were detained for alleged complicity but were later released on bail. When contacted on the phone, it was learnt that Mmiri claimed Annabel left his house at 3:30am when she refused to enter his room. But, after the conversation, Mmiri reportedly switched off his phone and stopped going to a popular bar, where he drinks with his friends. He is nowhere to be found. Our correspondent’s efforts to speak with Annabel’s friends she went to the nightclub with were futile. All of them declined to comment on the issue. Annabel’s roommate, Ukamaka, gave an account of what happened when she spoke to CAMPUSLIFE on telephone. She said: “Annabel told me she was going to the club that evening. Her friends, Ada and Chika, waited in the compound till they were joined by their other friends. I had a premonition of the incident in a dream I had the previous night. I told her not to go to the club but she refused. When the other three girls arrived, they all left together. When she did not return in the morning, I called her line but nobody picked. Later, a man claimed he found it.” Asked to describe the kind of person Annabel is, Ukamaka said that her roommate is a good Christian and hardworking, saying Annabel is a good tailor. “I believe Annabel is a victim of circumstance,” Ukamaka said. Ifeanyi said his family remained devastated by the incident. “We are devastated at the moment. When I received the news, I travelled from Onitsha to Awka to report the matter at the police station. The matter is still being attended to at SCID and “B” Division. We have even gone spiritual to seek God’s help to find my missing sister. Our Dad is late but mum is highly disorganised.” Ifeanyi said the matter had been reported to the UNIZIK management. When CAMPUSLIFE visited Annabel’s mother in Onitsha, she fought back tears as neighbours consoled her. She said: “I warned my daughter to stay clear of bad friends, but she would not listen. When she was admitted in a hospital a few months ago, my spirit never accepted the kind of girls who visited her. Now, they have done their worst. I can’t see my daughter, now. Where is my only daughter? Annabel was seven months in my womb when my husband died.” Mrs Edeh said she had consulted a prophet, who confirmed to her that her daughter is alive but held captive somewhere. She claimed that the prophet informed her that it was Annabel’s friends that facilitated her ‘abduction’ and threatened to sue them if her daughter did not return within days. She added: “All I am asking is the safe return of my daughter. I have no other girl. If she was kidnapped, those holding her would have called us. I am confused. We are only praying to God and hoping that she returns home safe and alive. I am pleading with anyone, who knows her whereabouts, to give useful information that can help us to locate her.” http://thenationonlineng.net/new/girl-goes-missing-after-clubbing/ |
Stephen Keshi to return for Nigeria Afcon qualifiers The Big Boss has been asked to finish the job he begun by leading the Super Eagles to the rest of the qualifiers against Congo and South Africa next month Oct 30, 2014 09:51:05 It seems that Nigeria have not heard the last of coach Stephen Keshi as he is set to return to his role in charge of the Super Eagles for next month’s pair of qualifiers against Congo and South Africa. On Thursday morning, media officer of the Super Eagles, Toyin Ibitoye tweeted that Keshi is set to return to his job. Goal findings revealed that Keshi has been asked to return to his post as part of reconciliatory moves in the Nigeria Football Federation as ordered by President Goodluck Jonathan. The President has also asked the faction of Chris Giwa to withdraw its case from court to ensure that Nigeria is not banned by Fifa. The NFF is yet to release any official statement. Keshi was relieved of his job on October 16, a day after the Super Eagles defeated Sudan 3-1 in Abuja, by the Amaju Pinnick-led board of the NFF who re-called former coach Shaibu Amodu in an interim capacity. The African champions had struggled to win just one in four qualifying matches and fans had begun to call for the coach’s sack. However, the Giwa-led faction had always maintained Keshi was still in charge despite the Big Boss having spoken about intentions to lead the Ghanaian national side, a fact that the GFA has now ruled out. The 52-year-old will now be in charge for the must-win pair of qualifiers next month. Nigeria are yet to announce their squad. The Super Eagles have four points and are behind South Africa (eight points), Congo (seven points) but ahead of Sudan (three points) in Group A. http://m.goal.com/x/en-ng/news/5623411 |
Just surprised at people... When the fg announced that schools resume oct 16th, you where all here bashing d fg. Now because fashola directs schools to resume on oct 8, ur now hailing him... Hypocrites |
"Goodluck Jonathan" is the cause.... |
Am a christian, but as long as I know and to my understanding, church marriage is secondary and not even necessary. It wasn't stated anywhere in d Bible that one must wed in the church. The marriage in Can an that Jesus Christ attended, it was not recorded that it took place in the temple. The most important thing is that as a man, you pay your bride price, and if the father/family accepts it, the woman becomes your wife that moment. The union has been established already and Heaven Wiℓℓ bless it. If he has paid her bride price, she is his wife. For me, traditional and marriage and church wedding is just a repetition. The pastor didn't do right. What do you say about this, Deut 22:29 he must pay her father fifty pieces of silver.[t] Then he must marry the young woman because he violated her, and he may never divorce her as long as he lives. |
1025: jonathan can simply tell us that he has failed on the power sector so let him concentrate on boko boys and ASUU strike. Is GEJ the EFCC or is he the the chairman ☀f ICPC? The Local govt chairman that was caught in the US, was it Obama that arrested him? If the agencies had failed in their duties, then its a collective failure as Nigeria's problem is not solely the govt but every citizen. We talk ☀f corruption but we all are victims in one way or the other. GEJ is not God-omni present to know all that's happening in all the sectors as no other person would know. If the agencies see no need to arrest anybody for corruption related case, then how's that GEJ's fault? Besides, did you file or report any ☀f the alleged offenders and GEJ ordered the agencies not to respond? Is GEJ the first Nigerian president? Obj had 8 yrs and had nothing to show for it and you expect GEJ to turn things around over night. Give him the support then after his term, you can judge him. Thank you |
Misplaced priorities. ASUU just said yesterday that the strike can last up to 5 years, nans isn't worried about that, is to be venturing into what's not their problem. Am sure Shima (nans acting president) has taken some cash. Pls, give fg ultimatum on your on going strike |
Na charcoal and salt thinG be that now o |
$£yi:Mr. Yinka Odumakin has now suddenly become a hungary minority faction ☀f afenifere cos he's saying the truth? Nawa for una o |
Which one is supporting document? No 7 |
I don't understand why people are blaming GEJ. He never asked the body guard to stop the gov. The body guard was merely doing his job which could have been anybody.if he(Amaechi) wanted to greet the president, he should have come earlier. |
supaeagles: No wahala, it is only Tahiti after all, even if our remaining boys arrive for half time we go still wallop dem ..... Coach Keshi sef fit cover defense till they arriveAm sure u've not seen Tahiti play. With our first 11, they Wiℓℓ outplay d eagles |
D people he defrauded are just "olodos". |
cold: Well i'm not sure about shooting the kid after the dad had handed him over.If the story is trueHe was shot when he tried to escape |
gbanikiti: Is the hotel located at Ozumba Mbadiwe?Kofo Abayomi |
Maybe GEJ should be blamed. That's why they are calling for amnesty for bok haram so they can get more share |
Am sure there were prophets in the bible who condemned their kings for doing evil and that didn't make them politicians. Some ☀f u supporting his view are the ones abusing gej everyday. He has a duty as a prophet/servant ☀f God when it comes nigeria. And if he's shying away from it, good for him. When they come during his convenntion and he prays for them, what message is he sending to his supporters? We xtians expect them, the GOs, bishops, Reverends etc condemn the evil going on in the land. But they chose to keep quiet. |
I think cpc has better things to worry about than this. Whether gej missed his slot or not is nnot an issue. He indicated to speak meaning he was present during d session. He was not around when he was called to present his speach and what's d big deal there. Even if he he didn't go for sideline meetings, he probably went to ease himself. The most important thing is dat, he was there, indicated to speak. Has he not be addressing/ speaking in other sessions. Cpc should get something important to do with their time |
Which move by d fg has acn supported? They think they r better, they just come up with an idea. That Wiℓℓ even give them the upper hand in the next election. Not just criticising everything. Haba. This has gone beyond opposition abeg |
One_Naira: To be honest, i think okorocha is the playing the field type of guys. he's always on the fence, looking and trying to figure which would advance him more. I don't get why a man would celebrate his transition to APC yet in an article talking about PDP members in IMO state moved to his party; ironically, the party they listed was APGA thus indicating he still under the party he celebrated he's not part of anymore. now with this situation, he joined politician from political parties he mouthed are "evil" (pdp, apga) to discuss strategy, etc. something is a miss. Okorocha is one of those user type of character. A damn shame behavior for a politician and most importantly Igbo politician. The meeting wasn't political meeting. So because the majority ☀f states govs are pdp govs, others frm other parties shouldn't attend the governor's forum meeting? The meeting was for the region not d parties. Okorocha is from Imo state and d gov ☀f Imo state not d gov ☀f apga. If there's any meeting to move his region forward, why won't he attend? |
romanlaw: It is a well known fact that Fashola's administration is corrupt BUT only time will reveal all the corrupt practises. Little wonder Fashola goes about himself commissioning all projects even ordinary reconstruction of roads, WHY NOT THE COMMISSIONERS!!!Which commissioner wey don ever commission ptoject for your state? |
duality: silly sentiments.See it in which angle? Gej set up several committees on the fuel subsidy scam and all the various committees indicted the minister ☀f petroleum but efcc has turned a blind eyes towards that. Since 2007, why is it now that he's having problem with gej that they now remembered that he's corrupt? I can only deduce that efcc is a tool for witch hunting your political enemy not for the good ☀f Nigeria |
Some ☀f u calling gej, dickson clueless are really d ones who are clueless. If he'd decided to complete d project and move in there, u Wiℓℓ be here shouting. Now he's decided to turn it to revenue yielding source for the state, u still criticise him...haba wetin person go do una go appreciate for once Na waooo |
Some people is as daft and clueless as their oga. Tomorrow, well still be the same people to blame the fg for this and that. What does thses got to do wit tribalism? If lagos had. Been a pdp state, would they have asked them to stop? Unfortunately, no pdp governor has that kind ☀f plan for their states. For those ☀f you, who prefer to remain in the dark, leave lagos alone and concentrate on ur states ur p govs are milking dry. |
Sometimes, people forget that Lagos is STATE and not just the capital city. They forget that there lgas. That make the state. @op, in your state, apart from your state capital, is there any other lga in ur state that can be compared to the street your referring to? Sometimes, we talk like sensless people. |
