You are. You are complaining about being banned and other people being banned, on a private forum, which suggests a lack of depth in life. Here we are on a thread whose entire purpose is a pointless whinge about being banned.

You can get banned for the pettiest of stuffs.  something as little as specifying the wrong location on your profile can get you banned, if seun chooses to ban you for it.

Personally, I think posts, whether[b] BecomeRich's maps[/b] or StarStruck's GIFs, which are sufficiently annoying to other posters run the risk of getting banned if enough people complain about them.  Seun's primary concern is to maximise the quantity of forumites. Ultimately, it's his forum, so however the banning process works, it's a waste of energy trying to debate why or who should get banned.

nairaland has fast become a clique, a lot of what goes on here are orchestrated on the YIMs of certain individuals who know themselves . . . they are probably those who cry the loudest about not taking NL seriously.

If a gif bothers you then something is desperately wrong somewhere and its not the gif poster.

Of course not  - you'd be surprised at the number of complaints daily mods get - if we told the admin to ban for everyone of them, there would be thousands banned daily. Only when something is repetitive and in agreement with the admin's views does it get acted on. Remember there was once a rule about signature gifs not being above a certain size? The frequency of the gifs made them almost like a signature since they appeared with every post. There are precedents for people being admonished to stop a certain type of activity in the interest of all forum members as a whole.

Speaking of bans, I've personally be banned for 'not being afraid of being banned' ( I think osisi, myself and another person were the victims at the time).

GIFs are not inherently annoying, it's the way this StarStruck uses them that I find grossly irritating. Glad to hear she's been banned for it.
