They are fine to some extent.  But if you keep using them in your every other post they become annoying.
Don't use them to dominate your post.  Use them to add expressions to your post every once in a while.

not initially.  if you become a repeat offender I will ban you.they are very little gifs.
those who abuse them would most likely be warned or banned too.


This is purely speculative by the way.  You posted for several weeks without being banned so I don't think your gifs are solely responsible for you getting banned.  Maybe the events of last week have a lot to do with it.  If chronic defamation of character is a violation of nairaland rules, you may have been banned because of that.  Just think back to whitelexi.

There is no superiority in this - the OP was given multiple warnings - she of course has the prerogative to decide to obey or not.

GIFs are not inherently annoying, it's the way this StarStruck uses them that I find grossly irritating. Glad to hear she's been banned for it.

How many cases of 'discretion' can you point to? You make it sound like people are banned daily on whims - with your large banning experience you should know that persistently committing the same offense will get you banned.

There have been genuine complaints in this particular case and multiple warnings for the OP to desist and she didn't. There's nothing personal or arbitrary about this.
