biikeys:Our final destination is Dayton, Ohio, and we r 3 in number going on this trip New York to Dayton by car is around 10 hours, and even a domestic/local flight per person from jfk to Dayton is around $150 which is around 33k, See below: Lagos to dayton (straight flight) around 400-420k Lagos to JFK, new York is around 200k, I even got 189k on ethiad airline The above is a diffrence of about 212k per head, and 3 of us are going on the trip, making a difference of around 636k......this is quite significant My thinking..... If we get the ethihad plane to JFK new your for 189k each, and when we arrive JFK, we can get a taxi that will convey all of us to Dayton, Ohio......I don't think we can spend up to 1000$ on the taxi. Even, a domestic flight from JFK to Dayton is around 150$ Pls advice |

I told the VO I was going to Ohio when I went for my interview but unfortunately, I can't take a flight to Ohio because it will cost around 412k and I can get a flight to New York, JFK, for around 200k ( a difference of 212k) and then rake a taxi from JFK new York to Ohio which is my final destination. However, my family of 3 will be makin this trip, which means a huge difference of around 636k Can we take the flight to JFK, then heads to Ohio by taxi ? Won't we have issues at the POE ? Thanks |

Idea VO. Thanks for these tremendous help u have been offering. I have an issue to clarify... I got a visit visa ton the US recently and the VO asked me at the interview which I told him I was going to Minnesota, but I just found out now that a flight to Baltimore Maryland is far far cheaper of about a difference of around 600$ difference, and I can easily take a Taxi or Bus from Baltimore to Minnesota at a cheaper rate. Will I not have issue at poe with the immigration if I travel is way ? |

slimmy05:But to me, it shows their marriages is for the sole purpose of getting a GC How can the couples just get divorced after getting a visiting visa, and suddenly travel to the US and getting remarried at the same time to a USC Isn't this suspicious ? |

Slimmy05.... Hear this story, it happened to a Nigerian couples. I read of a couples who have been married for about 10years, they both have 2 kids. At a point, they all applied for visiting US visa and they were all granted However, they travelled, the wife travelled with her 2 kids, while the husband joined them later in the US about 1 month after the wife and kids went. I now read that the 2 of them are adjusting their status, that they suddenly got divorced, the husband now married to a USC in Indianapolis, while the wife is remarried to another USC in Minnesota. They were however granted temporary GC I read this from a particular forum, can't really remember where I read it. |

slimmy05:What I have learnt in this forum is that Adjustment of Status through marriage for a Non Immigrant visa is an abuse of the system and is completely not allowed, even if the marriage is geniue. The best route is to apply for an immigrant visa from your home country. If the AOS is not approved, the applicant might be deported back to Nigeria That is my own understanding |

happney65:I am in a total black out at the moment. And my fear is that even if I get to the POE I might be sent back for the sins my wife committed because its on record she's my wife and that we both have a son. However, we got our visas at different times, she got hers like a year after I got mine. I only visited the US once and that was long ago, i hardly have time to travel, even local travellings. Now, what can I do ? Can't the US immigration send her packing ? In fact, I sent an e mail to the USCIS and I gave them all my wife's details including her passport number and scanned copy of her visa, and till now they never responded. Can't they deport my wife ? Or how can a married woman just abscond with a little child and decide not to return Pls help me abeg |

However, we applied for our visas at different times, she got her visa like a year after I got mine. Pls what should I do ? Can't she be deported ? Aren't the USCIS doing their job to deport illegal immigrant ? She insisted she will have her status adjusted, and how is that possible ? How can someone go to the US with a B2 visa and suddenly change to a legal immigrant . is this possible ? Can't the US immigration help me ? 1 Like |

Walspring:Yes, if I don't have to go to the US now, I won't see my child. What frightens me most is that even if I choose to travel on my B2 visa to see my child, won't I be sent back at the POE for my wife's sin of overstaying ? And also, what can I do for the USCIS to deport her back to Nigeria ? Or is deportation not possible for an illegal immigrants on the US soil ? Pls I need serious advice on this subject please |

I have been following this forum for a while but decided to ask for an advice from u all 1 am a 32 years old Businessman, and I own my own company here in Lagos. I am married and a child who is just 3 years old. My wife and kid got a US visit visa about 6 months ago and they used it to travel and up till now, my wife and kid have not returned back to Nigeria. She told me she will not return back to Nigeria that she is adjusting her status, and that it could take her 5 years to do that as I don't understand what that means. However, I have a valid visa too, B2, which will expire next month, but I hardly have time to travel, as I don't want to leave my company. Since my wife said I should come over to her in the US to see her if I desire to see my little son, won't I be faced with some questions at the POE, and don't u think I can be sent back to Nigeria at the POE due to the sins of my wife and kid overstaying in the US. And also, what does Adjustment of Status that my wife said means? 1 Like |
